The letter is fake and was just written by a student to his school humour magazine. Unfortunately for him he applied to Harvard as well and he is now begging people to stop circulating the letter.

Hi scholar, pls am in a dilemma and I need some help making a decision. I just got a fantastic offer to study at Glasgow University. Full tuition and living costs.External sponsorship. I have also applied to Edinburgh for the pressid scholarship. Pls, not considering the pressid, if you were to choose between d two schools, which would you choose?. I realise dat edinburgh ranks higher, but there are many other things to consider. By the way,the offer is for MSc Biotechnology.
Take the University of Glasgow offer. Just finished from there. If you get the PRESSID scholarship, use it for your PhD if you are interested in furthering your education.

Family / Re: His Wife Is Always Tired At Night For Sex by whizkidy: 2:15pm On Feb 13, 2015
pentag0nal:
I am planning to settle down soon. I have a very close friend who is a handsome guy and very nice and caring. he is married and from all I see, he is having a good marriage. He confided in me recently that the major problem he is having with his wife is that almost every night when he approaches her for sex, she would say that she is so tired and had a stressful day. undecided

This my friend is a very religious guy and does not want to cheat on his wife because of the fear of God. The problem now is that he is so sex starved and at the point of getting a girl friend. cry cry cry

Please house, what advise do you have for this guy and many good men that find themselves in such a situation. You don't want to cheat on your wife but she continues to deny you sex with excuses. How do you cope knowing fully well that your body is yearning for this thing and you need it. cry
The guy should consult Mr IK obodolo. Apparently he has been in his shoes before. Tired every night, SMH.
Education / Re: My Bitter Experience, Undergraduates "Keep Record Of All Your Results" by whizkidy: 12:42am On Feb 11, 2015
Ezegozie:
I will like to use this opportunity to share with you (especially the undergraduates), what I passed through last three weeks when I came for my clearance, and I hope you all will learn from it and form the habit of keeping record of your results.

Problem started when I came to my school for my B.sc clearance like others, and I found out that my department recorded 3.48 as my FCGPA.

Immediately, I became dead in shock, because I had calculated my GP myself even before coming for my clearance and I got 3.55.

Immediately, I suspended my clearance and typed my whole result starting from first year to final year with my Laptop, calculated it, printed it into two copies and submitted one to HOD (with letter of GP re-calculation) and another one to another Prof. Who happens to come from my village.

It was really a great battle. I was insulted, and was even told to leave office repeatedly.
But through the grace of God and the help of that Prof from my village, my result was reviewed, and it was discovered that the person that computed my GP made a grave mistake and recorded 129points for me in my final year instead of 139points which brought me to 2nd class lower.

Glory be to God that the error was detected and corrected and my deserved GP (3.55) was given to me.
Had it been that I didn't keep record of all my results, there wouldn't have been any strong evidence to back-up my case.
And the department is not ready to show you any result, I still wonder why .

So undergraduates, I advise you to keep record of your results incase of any error in GP computation, and also make friends with lecturers, so that if you have any problem, somebody will be there to speak for you.
Had a similar experience. It was a battle of over one and a half year. Went for service and even came back before it was rectified.

that's a fat lie. The 2012 list was released second wk of september.
whether it's a fat or slim lie, it's none of my business. Am not a scholar under nddc. Just wrote what I heard from a scholar. And considering the irregularities associated with this scholarship, anything is possible.
Education / Re: Nddc Postgraduate Scholarship 2014 by whizkidy: 5:30pm On Aug 26, 2014
Hi everyone. I am currently a student at the university of Glasgow. Recently I met a girl who got the nddc scholarship in 2012. The girl resumed September 2013 and finished this month. According to her, the list was released late in 2012 around October or November so she had to resume the next academic session. What I am trying to say in essence is that you guys should just chill and redeem the time by concentrating on other things. For those who have universities in the UK offering their courses in the January admission window, think it will be good to apply as a back up. Good luck to everyone.

Alimi7: Guys, wat do u tink could av been d cut-off for d 200 to av been shortlisted, based on d scores u saw on pples screen dat day?
there is no general cut-off. Don't forget we have up to 5 different disciplines. Engineering, medical sciences, biological sciences, economics e.t.c Each discipline will have it's cut off based on the no of people NUC wants to sponsor in each discipline.
Education / Re: Pressid Scholarship Aptitude Test Scores - First Class Graduates by whizkidy: 3:11pm On Jan 03, 2014
planetshaker: Not being pessimistic or anything. 200 will be goodnews for all of us. But, don't u think he refers to both last year and this year...there were 101 last year. Cud it be that there are also approx 100 this year? And he's refering to all candidates (last year n this year) who have been awarded the scholarship. Read the link carefully. The word 'recent' as used in context permits my reasoning. Does anyone share similar thoughts?
it's 200 for this year. Go to the NUC website and read the bulletin dated 30th December, 2013.
