The dialects are numerous and when you put them in writing, one word may have more than 5, in short, 9 meanings, let me show you a list of them.
The word 'Ogun' for example has about 9 meanings.
This word means medicine, it also means charm, it means war, there is a state called Ogun, the god of iron in Yoruba's history is called Ogun. This same word means sweat, it is used when someone stabs another person, it means one's property or inheritance, finally, ogun is the number 20 in yoruba numerals.
