An Abuja Taxi driver, Sikiru Lamidi, who was arrested by detectives from Apo Divisional Police Station for allegedly killing a former Nigerian ambassador to South Africa, Ngam Nwachukwu, on November 24, 2016, has confessed to committing the said crime.
The suspect from Oyo State, was arrested at his home town where he was hiding after selling Nwachukwu’s Lexus SUV with Abuja registration number, YAB 938 MC to one Femi Adeyemi with forged doc**ents.
The 75-year-old ex-Ambassador reportedly boarded the Lamidi's cab on November 23, 2016 and in the course of taking him around informed him about his car which had a mechanical fault.
The cab driver then offered to take deceased's car to his brother, a mechanic, who could work on the car and it was decided that Lamidi would come to the ex-ambassador’s house the following day.
The driver reportedly showed up at the ex-envoy’s residence at Villa Nova Estate, Apo the following day as agreed.
According to Northern City News, the deceased lived alone and his security guard, who doubled as an electrician, was also not in the house during Lamidi’s visit.
Investigators stated that Nwachukwu offered the driver some food but he declined while sitting across from him at the dining table.

“As the man was eating, the suspect pounced on him and wrestled him to the floor and then stabbed him in the neck with a pair of scissors. He stole the plasma television and home theatre in the apartment and went away with the deceased’s Lexus SUV which he sold for N1.480m to one Femi Adeyemi with forged doc**ents,” an investigator said.
According to Lamidi, he didn't know what came over him, adding that he just found himself stabbing the septuagenarian until he died.
“After stabbing the man, I felt terrible and guilty but there was nothing I could do to reverse the situation,” he said.
After killing Nwachukwu, the suspect explained that he sold the TV and home theatre audio system to a seller of fairly-used products at Area 10, Abuja for N38,000.
He said that he kept the SUV in Sauka Village along Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Road for two weeks before driving it to Oyo town.
The taxi driver said he gave the vehicle to one Okuta who assisted him in forging the vehicle doc**ents, adding that he compensated Okuta with N380,000 after selling the vehicle.
“Out of the remaining N1.1m, I bought a motorcycle for N180,000 and invested N500,000 in a cooperative society; I gave a car dealer N500,000 to assist me in getting a car, but he defrauded me and didn’t provide any vehicle,” Lamidi explained.
When asked if he had committed similar crimes before, the suspect denied, saying it was his first time.
“I have not committed any crime before; I blame the devil for this. Sometimes, I entertain negative or diabolical thoughts, but I don’t smoke or drink,” he added

My Nigeria, a country where everyone wants to be heard. So far non if these guys who have responded have actually made any sense and it goes a long way to show their level of tolerance for criticism. What I expect is for them to come together , deliberate on this issue and come out with a position. In as much as I don't like dabbling into issues generated by imported religions, I couldn't resist myself from commenting on this.

Last weekend, the above news was reported in virtually all the nation's major newspapers and to date it has not been refuted.

I repost some extracts here.
The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Abubakar, has given details how religious leaders pushed the Goodluck Jonathan administration to change the status of Christian and Islamic subjects in school curriculum.

The two subjects, previously optional, are now core for students of respective faiths.

The government denies the allegation, saying it merely made Christian Religious Knowledge and Islamic Religious Knowledge compulsory for Christian and Muslim students respectively.

Speaking Friday at a National Symposium and Lauching of 2025 Vision by Da’awah Coordination Council of Nigeria, Mr. Abubakar, who is the head of the Nigerian Muslim community, urged the council to propagate Islam to non-Muslims in a non-combative manner.

“Tell people what Islam is; tell them why they should be Muslims and what difference it could make to their lives,” he said.

It is obvious that all Muslims denying the "Islamisation Agenda" are being deceitful because the intention is clearly stated in the Sultan's reported speech (which hasn't been refuted). Why does the muslims want to use public resources to propagate Islam to non-Muslims in a non-combative manner? When you're deceitful, how do you want me to trust you with your religious message and religion? If I want my child to know about a religion then I will sent him/her to a faith based school.

This particular policy is sinister and will not see the light of the day.

I dislike people who sugar-coat the truth. We've experienced outright hatred of Northerners towards Southerners for decades. I among my close and not directly close individuals have experienced it too.

Southerners living in the North have learnt the various languages, not to integrate, but for security.

In Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Abuja, Taraba, Nasarawa, I've heard of kids as young as 12 years old(not to talk of 22 and above) discuss among themselves with disgust and at times smiling about Southerners.

Imams would not stop these evil planned for October 1st, because they fuel it in their various sermons in places in Abuja, Jos, Nasarawa, Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna, Taraba among other Northern states.
