When I was a little boy, I learnt that every food and offering brought to the alter during thanksgiving belonged to God, and this includes bags of rice, bunches of plantain, and money of which part were coins which was popular back then.

Eventually, I began to wonder how God will eat all of the food and money, so I did something stupid. I took a ladder and climbed the fence of the Reverend Father’s house where the food was always being taken to, I could hardly see God, but I saw a glimpse of a store where the food was being taken into. As I struggled to see further, I feel from the ladder.

Months later, I joined the alter boys association and discovered that the foods and beverages where eaten by the priests. Majority of us as adults know our thanksgivings to God go directly to the priests/pastors, but that does not in any way diminish the fact that they are to God.

How often do give to God? Is it only on Sundays, or monthly during tithes? How often do you give to the needy? Do you know that to give God is to give man?

I can quote tons of Bible verses I am sure you must have heard previously, but choose not to. All you need to know is that by giving we receive. When we give, we move one step forward, God in return gives us 99 more steps through Grace to continue marching on.

Thankfulness is a mental and verbal expression of one’s acknowledgement and appreciation of God’s person, his Grace, Blessing and sovereign work in one’s life and the world.

God’s greatest commandments were to love God and love your neighbour as yourself. Some people feel that only those who are rich should give. But in truth, no one is excluded. Don’t wait till Sunday to give, don’t wait till month end. When you give something and it doesn’t feel like something parted from you then that’s not giving.

Giving can be in church, your neighbours, your co-workers and even to give something to your boss. The word humanity is from the Latin humanitas for “human nature, kindness.” Pope John Paul II said, “Nobody is so poor he has nothing to give, and nobody is so rich he has nothing to receive,” for giving makes us human.

1. Because God commands it:

"A tithe of all you produce is the Lord's and it is Holy." (Leviticus 27:30)


2. Because Jesus commands it:

"Yes, you should tithe, and you shouldn't leave the more important things undone either." (Matthew 23:23) Tithing was the only thing Jesus commended the Pharisees for doing right!



3. Because tithing shows that God has first place in your life:

"The purpose of tithing is to teach you to put God first place in your life". (Deuteronomy 14:23 (LB) If God does not have first priority in your finances, He isn't really first in your life and your witness for Christ is false!


4. Because it reminds you that everything you have was given to you by God:
"Always remember that it is the Lord your God who gives you the ability to produce wealth." (Deuteronomy 8:18) Rather than feeling "I'm giving God 10% of my money," realize God is letting you keep 90% of HIS money. Without God's help, you would have nothing.


5. Because tithing expresses your gratitude to God for helping you earn income:
"How can I repay the Lord for all His goodness to me?" (Ps. 116:12) Here's the answer: "Each of you should bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you." (Deuteronomy 16:17)


6. Because refusing to tithe is stealing from God:

If you don't tithe, God says you are using money that rightfully belongs to Him. "God says: "Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing me!' But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' God says: 'In tithes and offerings. Bring your whole tithe to My house.'" (Malachi 3:8-19) (God has a right to whatever He asks for from you.)


7. Because tithing gives God a chance to prove to you that He exists and wants to bless you:

"Bring me your tithe. Test me in this," says the Lord, "and see if I won't throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it, I will prevent pests from devouring your crops and the vines in your fields will be protected from plagues."

This is one of the most amazing promises in the Bible. God actually offers you a challenge. He says "I dare you!" Start tithing and watch what happens!" He not only promises to bless you with more, but He also promises to protect what you already have! In the Bible, tithing is the only way given that you can prove God exists. Start tithing and get ready for God's amazing blessings!


8. Because it is essential to spiritual growth:
"Just as you grow in everything in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in earnestness and love...see that you also grow in the grace of giving." Many Christians remain spiritual babies because they disobey God by not tithing.


9. Because tithing shows you really love God!
"Where your treasure is, your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:21) Wherever you put your money is where your affection is going to be. Every time you give back to God you are drawn closer to Him. You may say you love God, but 2 Corinthians 8:8 says that you’re giving tests the sincerity of your love. You can give without loving but you cannot love without giving.
Jesus said, "If you really love me, do what I command." (John 14:15)


10. Because tithing is an investment for eternity:
Jesus told us to "Store up treasures in heaven." (Matthew 6:19-20) How do you do that? By investing your money in helping people get to heaven! Most of the things you spend your money on will not even last for ten years, much less last for eternity.

1st. Formation and creation of man

Genesis 1:26 says "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness"

Who are this beings God was talking to?

Job 38:4-7 says "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?"

Note: the morning stars were in existence before the foundation of the earth was laid. but the earth existed before the stars we see on the sky. the morning stars and the stars in the sky are different.

The morning stars and the sons of God were present before the foundation of the earth was laid.

So, God the self existence being told the first existed beings " Let us make man in our image, after our likeness "

Likes begets likes, the sons of God are gods.

So, man was made in the image of God which is also the image of gods

Gen 1:27 talks about the creation of man, while
Gen 2:7 talks about the formation of man. So, they was creation before formation.

Before anything is made, there is always a mental image created for that, before it is made, that is creation. And when that mental image is created, then raw materials are been put together to fit-in the created image, that is formation.

Formation brings about the manifestation of creation from the mental sphere to the physical sphere.

The created man was only existing in the mental sphere, until dust and breath was put together to fit-in the created image of the man. then he manifested in the physical word.

So, the raw materials that made up the created man, are ;the flesh which was formed with dust, and life which is the spirit of God, that came into the formed man through the breath of God.

The created man has the image of God, which is an invisible image, while the formed man give covering to the created man.

The difference between created Adam, Gen 1:27 and the formed Adam Gen 2:7 is the body and the spirit.

2nd. The whole duty of man

Who is a man?

Genesis 5:1-2 says "This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created"

Eve and Adam are both Adam

The mental picture of man, had two persons in one.

The first was formed with dust, and the second was formed with a bone from the formed dust.

The both has one thing in common which is dust.

Most times when the bible says he or man, it means both male and female.

Now let's talk about the whole duty of man

Ecclesiastes 12:13 says "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."

Who is he that fears God, and who is he that keeps his commandments?

We knows that the fear of the Lord literally means to be afraid of God but we don't understand how to fear God.

Proverbs 2:3-5 says "Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God."

The fear of the Lord is meant to be understood

Proverbs 8:13a says "The fear of the LORD is to hate evil:........."

So, a God fearing man is he that hates evil.

This means that the first duty of man is to hate evil.

Who is he that keeps God's commandments?

Proverbs 9:10 says "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding"

If we can understand understanding then we can know what keeping God's commandments is all about.

So, what is understanding?

Job 28:12-28 says "But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding? Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living. The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me. It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof. It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire. The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold. No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies. The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold. Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding? Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air. Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears. God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof. For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven; To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure. When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder: Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out. And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding."

To depart from evil is understanding

This means that he who keeps God's commandments is he who departs from evil

So, the whole duty of man is to hate and depart from evil.

What is evil?

Since the day Adam and Eve ate the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, good and evil became part of humanity.

The definition of evil is written in the heart of every human being, that is why; before you do anything, something in you always access it to know weather it is good or evil.

Both good and evil is in the knowledge of every human, the choice on the side to follow is left for the person.

Can they be sin without law? No!

Moses wasn't yet born when Sodom and Gommorah sinned against God, so they wasn't any written law during that time, how could they have sinned? Sodom and Gommorah was destroyed because they sinned against the first law in there heart.

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is the first law in the heart of every human being

The law of Moses only guides us to make the right choice between good and evil, which is already registered in our heart.

3rd. The beginning of death.

Genesis 3:22a says "And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil:......."

The knowledge of good and evil is the knowledge of God and gods.

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil, made humanity as gods.

Genesis 3:4-5 says "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."

The serpent told her the truth about the tree but lied about the penalty of death attached to the eating of the tree to her.

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil brought death to humanity, because the earth was programmed by God for humans to live forever in it, but the tree made humans part-god-part-human, and so, man has to die, leave his body and enter into the terrain of gods.

Psalms 82:6-7 says "I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes."

Death is the transition from the god with a body to the god without a body.

4th. Life and death after death

In death, the flesh returns to dust where it came from, the life which is the spirit of God returns to God who gave it, the created man becomes a history, while the god-man enters the congregation of the dead and await judgement.


1samuel 28:11-19 says "Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel. And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul. And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth. And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself. And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do. Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy? Samuel appeared as a god and even spoke with Saul.

Proverbs 21:16 says "The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead."

This is death after death, but the man with understanding has hope in his death.

Psalms 37:27 says "Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore."

That is life after death.

Understanding gives you an everlasting life.

Conclusion

Ecclesiastes 12:14 says "For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."

What becomes of the god without a body after judgement; depends on the doing of the god with a body before judgement.

Do not be deceived with teachings, doctrines and religions that makes you feel comfortable in your sin

Just as Sodom and Gommorah that faced judgement based on the first law in there hearts, our forefathers who never knew the true God are been judged by the first law in there heart.

Do not be deceived, listen to that first law in your heart and make the right choice.

Remain blessed, until I comes your way again.

7. Change to Healthier Habits

Lifestyle changes matter because they can help you recover from a UTI and might prevent another infection.To lower your risk of getting a urinary tract infection, pee within 30 minutes of having sex, says Lisa N. Hawes, MD, a general urologist in Fulton, Maryland, and a physician spokesperson for the American Urological Association. And ignore the often-shared advice that both partners should wash their genitals immediately before and after sex. "This actually changes bacterial flora and will increase UTI risks," Hawes says.

When we were young life was easier, right? I know sometimes it seems that way. But the truth is life is still easy. It always will be. Over the course of time, we made our lives harder and harder, and we started losing touch with who we really are and what we really need.

If you can relate to this, here are some ways you’re likely making your life harder than it has to be, and some ideas on simplifying things:

1. You keep thinking about worst-case scenarios.
I have a bad habit of fast forwarding everything to its worst possible outcome and being pleasantly surprised when the result is marginally better than the utter disaster I imagined. My mind unnecessarily wrestles with events that aren’t even remotely likely. My sore throat is probably cancer. My lost ATM card fell into the hands of a Boko Haram terrorist who will wipe out my savings account.

Negativity like this only breeds more negativity. It robs you of happiness. It will carry you away from shore, and if you don’t swim away it will pull you under. The bottom line is that you can see the world through a lens of doubt and despair or hope and excitement. It’s your choice. Either way, you will someday arrive at the same destination. The only question is: Do you want to arrive with a frown or a smile?

2. You constantly compare your life to others.
You were invited to a nice party somewhere. You are enjoying the smooth jazz, wine and party jollof rice. What more could you want? As the party goes on you notice a group of guys and girls with expensive outfits enjoying themselves on another table across the party hall. Suddenly you begin to feel that you don’t measure up to the guys/girls on the other table - people you didn’t even know existed until just a few minutes ago.
Those people are having more fun. Mary has a bigger house. John gets all the lucky breaks. Tunde has more money. Ada is better looking.

Stop it.

If you compete with everyone else, you will become bitter. If you compete with a previous version of yourself, you will become better. It’s as simple as that.

3. You avoid facing the truth.
The truth does not cease to exist when it is ignored. You cannot find peace by avoiding things. You have to feel it to heal it. Bring your fears and weaknesses front and center and shine a blazing spotlight on them. Because the only way out is through. The pain of facing the truth is SO worth it in the long run.

4. You believe that everyone is out to get you.
Someone in your office does something nice for you and automatically you begin to wonder what they want. Another driver cut you off in traffic. Your friend never texted you back. Your colleague went to lunch without you. Everyone can find a reason to be offended on a daily basis. So what caused you to be offended? You assigned negative intent to these otherwise innocent actions. You took it as a personal insult – a slap in the face. Don’t do this to yourself. Don’t take things personally.
Don’t assign negative intent to the unintentional actions of others. Let today be the day you look for the good in everyone you meet.

5. You see a future full of pitfalls.
You finally have a dinner date with a person you really like. Instead of thinking how great this is and how much you are going to enjoy the evening, you focus on the ways that this evening is going to be a disaster. Or you finally get to take a bold step to do what you love and instead of seeing it working out well, you focus on how it is going to fail.
You are always so focused on all the negative things that might happen that you fail to see the benefits and opportunities before you. You could be missing something great!

6. You are the sun and the world rotates around you.
When planning an outing do you insist that everyone follow your plan? When you are having a bad day do you make sure all your friends and family know about it? These behaviors could be seriously making life more difficult for you. By making things less about you and more about others would make for smoother relationships and less tension.

7. You focus on popularity over effectiveness.
Seek respect, not attention. It lasts longer and it’s far more useful in the end. Do things and build things that make a lasting difference. And above all, never confuse popularity with effectiveness. Being popular means you’re liked for a while. Being effective means you’ve made a difference

8. You are stuck on your mistakes.
It’s important that we forgive ourselves for making mistakes. We need to learn from our errors and move forward. Make a pact with yourself today not to be defined by your past. Sometimes the greatest thing to come out of all your hard work isn’t what you get for it, but what you learn from it. A happy, successful life, after all, is not a life absent of problems, but one that’s been able to rise above them.

9. You have an “all or nothing” mentality.

She embarrassed you in front of your colleagues and you are never going to forgive her. Sound familiar?
Learn to let go of the wrong things people have done to you. Most times the other person is out there enjoying her life while you keep on carrying the burden of hurt on your heart.

Another scenario is this: you know you are right about how something should be done and nothing is going to change your mind. Has this attitude ever embarrassed you when it turns out that you were wrong in the end?
Learn to let go. It makes life easier.


These and many more are the ways we unknowingly make life hard for ourselves.

It all started last year when me and a friend needed somewhere to stay,so we started scouting for free apartments around my school,then one day my friend John called me,said he found a guy that needed roommates and was asking for 80k#,I asked him to make enquiries and find out if the guy can take in 2 people.

After talking to the guy John said him and the guy had concluded that we both could come in and agreed on #50k each,we went to the place and it was in a raz environment but we were in urgent need of a place to stay so we took the place.

6months down the line John had moved out Cuz he didn't pay fully and I was left alone with the guy at the apartment,just last two weeks he said his junior sis gained admission and that he's going to serve February and so he's going to give his sister his place in the room,I was like Wtf :-/, so his sister moved in last week..... chai the girl set die.....so I've recently been thinking how only me and this girl would stay alone in a self contain apartment without any ********* happening,because January first I made a resolution to no do fisting and player this year , but it's not been easy whenever she's in the room I can't even wear only boxers cus my blokos would be showing..... I can't polute the air (mess) in peace :-( , and I can't come out of the toilet without tieing my towel,it's just been one week tho.....I don't talk to the girl much tho.... but it's not been easy.....I can't imagine how the next few months with this girl would be.....I'd keep you guys posted....I need advice from experienced people tho....so share your experiences here too

This might be long but please read to the end and offer advice. Good morning folks, a merry Christmas to you all.
I've been thinking a lot about what I can do about the current situation I'm facing.
For starters, in 2014 I was working with a popular liquor factory in sango ota as a contract staff. There, I earned guaranteed minimum wage of 18k but always boost that up to between 32k and 36k monthly with over time. I got daily meal vouchers worth #520, free transport to and fro with end of the month allocation of our products.
The job was difficult but it was doable plus the promise of being staffed was present.
In January of 2015, my aunt from lagos asked me to quit the job as she felt she could get me a better offer with her tenant who is into IT since I'm computer literate and very intelligent with an OND result.
She believes in me that I deserve better than waste away by drinking my life away in a liquor production environment.
I agreed with her and she took me to her tenant who fixed an appointment for me for an interview.
I attended the interview and afterwards the man asked me to start work the following month which was February.
February came and when I was supposed to resume, I called him and he asked me to resume the following week as he wasn't around.
In a nutshell, I resumed on the 9th o February 2015. It was a hospital in lekki. My boss designs medical software and I have to resume in any location where there's job.
I waited endlessly for an appointment letter, I'D card, remuneration bargain and other binding documents.
Need I say that I'm still waiting for all of that till date even though it's almost 2yrs already.
End of February came and while we were there, he sent me on an errand and said something like, let me look for something for you for the month.
Before I returned from the errand I received an alert of 40k from him. I thought that was because I didn't start working from the beginning of the month.
I accepted gladly and hoped for improvement subsequently but till date nothing has happened.
I tried coping with the job and I had to leave my residence (which was my church) in sango for my family house in shogunle.
Logistics was Killing my pay but I tried hard to cope against all odds.
Later on we had a job at NNPC mosimi shagamu and on getting there, after showing us what to do, my boss paid for weekly accommodation there and nothing more. This means my colleague and i had to resume at shagamu on Mondays and leave on Fridays without any form of compensation whatsoever.
I still coped cos I liked the environment.
After a few months of working in sagamu, my boss transferred me back to lagos but this time to falomo police hospital. Still no compensation for logistics at all.
I finished the job in falomo at record time and was moved to ikeja police college. That was a relief to me cos it's much closer to my house.
I did a good job there too and was moved back to mosimi shagamu but this time he didn't provide accommodation so he paid to and fro transportation fare and nothing more.
He later moved me to another private hospital in arowojobe estate of Maryland with no provisions at all.
The laptop I was working with developed a certain issue and I informed him. He didn't replace it till date.
After sometime he complained that my colleague and I were being idle and he couldn't continue to keep us when there are jobs to do outside lagos.
I reminded him of dynamism and my ability to speak English, yoruba and hausa fluently.
He then concluded that we should resume at jaja clinic UI ibadan from the next day which was in october.
Apart from accommodation and transportation he still didn't provide any other allowance for us.
The last straw that broke the camel's back was when he said our next stop was kaduna.
I asked him severally what the nature of job I kaduna would be like but he constantly declined answers until we got to kaduna. Need I say that he flew to kaduna while we were confined to a 16hrs road trip to kaduna.
On getting to kaduna very late on the 7th of November I called my boss severally but to no avail. He later called and asked me to pay our hotel bill for the night and he'll reimburse me.
Before 7am, he knocked the hotel room, handed me the money for the room and left.
Now my question is, since he didn't make any arrangements or provisions for us before leaving lagos, what would have happened if I hadn't left lagos with up to 6k?
On getting to national eye centre kaduna the next day and seeing how large and long our job would be there, he made arrangements with the locals to give us accommodation in one of the hospital's lodges.
He gave us a #600 per day lodge which I later found out the original cost was #200 per day. Th inhumane conditions we had to cope with in that lodge is story for another day.
After 3days in the lodge, with cost of feeding so high and my resources almost completely drained, my colleague and I decided to reason with my boss that it would be more economical to buy stuff and prepare meals.
He agreed with us and when he was leaving that weekend he gave us 8k to buy stove, pots, plates and food stuff.
We managed and bought some things, but colleague and I added our personal money to buy food stuff.
The following weekend we went short on resources so my colleague mailed him to inform him but then his response was jaw dropping.
He responded that he regretted assisting us with the 8k stating that it's not his obligation to cater for our logistics.
I became furious and sent him a mail stating that I wasn't ready to add hunger to the harsh conditions I was contending with already up north and he replied me that by the end of November he'll send our tfare back to lagos.
He sent 14k to us and tfare was 15k. He didn't pay me my November salary until the 16th. In his mail, he asked me to await his instructions on arrival to lagos but he hasn't even called or messaged me since my arrival from kaduna on the 1st of December.
I decided never to reach out to him but after multiple pleas from friends and folks, I mailed him and he hasn't replied.
I've not been paid for December and being someone with multiple obligations I'm trying hard not to take any irrational decision.
Please friends and family need your advice.
