From my post, I suggested a confirmation from CIC and not a "trial-or-error" venture. Believe me, if anyone should know the application of that PRA, I am one. I'm sure you also read the part where he/she made mention of people known by him/her who successfully used 100% of their PF. All we need do is test the veracity of that information and have the matter effectively rested, rather than wave it all off. Mind you, we've been acting on this based on our prudent interpretations (which is fine by me anyways), and not subtle confirmations.

What is the primary essence of POF if you state you have 100% but all you have to survive on is the 25% you can access after 4 months of unemployment? That's the same reason some go ahead on this journey and cry foul when they have little or nothing left to fall back upon when they see that the journey is one that requires lots of patient in order to break even.

This road that he/she is threading on is very dangerous. Yes the 25% is not available as at the time you apply, but it will obviously be available, if not by the time you travel, then a couple of months after you land because its not possible that you will emigrate without resigning.
The 75% however is locked tight. Not even death will release it soon.
The fact that CIC overlooks the fact 25% is not readily available should not encourage us to start taking unnecessary risks. one desperate person out there will see this argument and try it out and get their heart broken.
He/She keeps saying 'over sabi' Nigerians have informed them of the 25% rule. Biko is it only in Nigeria that they pay pensions? where do you think Nigerians copied the pension laws from? you really believe that the CIC case officers will be completely ignorant of the financial regulations and processes of one of the Countries that produces their plentiest immigrants?
Let the daredevils give a try. me o, I wash my hands off this one.

Exactly my point.

CIC states the fund must be readily available When you apply and Not after 4 Months of resignation.

So from your write up, you shouldn't be using PF.

Interpret away sir/ma. Did you see my response?
Go ahead and put the whole pension fund. I wish you the best. I don't have time for argument that does not hold water, after all, I'm not CIC

I would like to know why they think British Council doesn't charge N15K. Very disappointing sth!

Very disappointing. I'm least concerned about the blunders in the mail sent to MOD cos deed is already done but the response is annoying and dismissive fa!!! I believe they know BC charges 15k for remarks and its rather sad cos they are just being exploitative. Abeg everyone should go back to BC jare.

Have they changed the rule? I was at the Canadian embassy some time ago to verify this and was told everything will count.

Does your pension law state that you receive your full pension after 4 months of employment? Oya go and put everything o

My Short Landing Story

Eyin Temi bawoni o. Se wa?

So we left Lagos via Ethiopian and because I didn't want to be in a rush. We were at the airport before 9am for a 2pm flight. All bags were within limits and we only bubble wrapped the one with the most important consignment - food. No one said open your bag and we didnt have to get a receipt for food items though my mom who travelled weeks before us had too.

Get ready for the 'dash us something' from immigration point to boarding gate. I left Oga to deal with them. The flight to Addis Ababa was ok with ample leg roomy but our connecting flight to toronto was quite snug.

Checks in Toronto was ok. The border officers we met were really cheerful and helpful. Have the full address where you want your PR to be sent handy. I had to start calling to know the postal code. I also wasn't asked my list of goods to follow. Na me come they ask where I go sign and stamp am. My luggage was not checked in any way though I didnt have much contraband.

The jet lag no be here o and I think sleeping through the time zones on the plane helped. We were up early on our first day like before 4.30am

Right now I am cooking ogbono soup. Come chop.

Hmmnn..... u make it sound so easy. I'm also praying for hassle free journey. God help me.
Ya welcome to Canny.

So please Im trying to understand, if my fund is in just TBills, does the TBill certificate alone suffice as PoF. Is the bank reference letter, 6 months bank statement and letter of non-indebtedness required for any other reason?

Necessary:
TBill certificate
Bank reference letter,

If you like:
6 months bank statement. I included this in mine

Not necessary, except you have a loan running on your account:
Letter of non-indebtedness

Congratulations my dear on your double tripple joy.

How long do you think it will take to get the passports? I called my contact and already telling me it takes weeks now to process pp, first have to wait 2 weeks after birth before processing cuz some babies don't open eyes during photo shoot which is headache for them. Just wanna make pp are ready before the 30 day extension.

They shouldn't bring this kind of clause o, we will wake baby up. Infact, we will ensure baby sleeps all thru the night so that they are awake the next day grin grin grin. Which passport office is this?

@Owols, nice analysis and I totally agree with you but with caution. grin

Reasons:
1. The 2018 74,900 projection includes the dependents of the principal applicants (I read it somewhere..whether CIC website, I cant remember) so for every 3500 ITAs issued, I want to believe, the projection will be head-counted for all principal applicants and their dependents.

2. CIC's projections for the year may be for indication purposes only- ie, they may not necessarily fill this quota for many reasons and the touted 2018 figure may just be an immigration "mission statement" for CIC. grin grin (CIC has posited that this figure is a target that they aspire to achieve) To my mind, if they don't make the target, nobody can sue them!

3. Don't let us be quick to forget that the 2018 74,900 figure is to include Federal Skilled Workers Class (that's us), Federal Skilled Trades and Canadian Experience Class.

It will end in praise IJN!

Me thinks the surge in number asylum seekers will further decrease CIC's projection too.

Verily verify I say unto you, the day you clench your ITA and golden mail, this forum will erupt in joyous celebration and thank God on your behalf.
The one they did for glitteringstar and Mcstan small sef.
I noticed your tale last week though I've been seeing your name for longer on the PNP thread.

I suggest you hold off the remarking and give the forth coming ielts your very best. Your current CRS score is very decent. Don't lock your score down and lose the risk of foregoing the next draw which might just be in your favor. No one can tell how your next ielts would turn out even though we hope for the best

Be patient, you are nearly there.

@newmum, you don spy the long mail?

God bless all

@TEECANN, seconded. Sometimes, I wonder if I will ever be able to surpass the IELTS results that positioned me for ITA if I am made to take another one, but we can always hope for the best. Do your best in the next exam, infact I love your spirit, however, I'm very positive the next draw will favour you. Cheers

As in...this scenario just further scared me. Kids are little o and I want to work too (max 2 months after I land, full time for that matter) I sure say I fit do this thing @canadafly, I imagine your kids are much younger from your posts, so you have any advice or tips you think i should know or be considering?

I got response below from Canadianfly. Its either I do more research on this or just go work in a creche. Basically looking into something that will fit comfortably into my children's schedule for the first few months is my priority, so I'm not too concerned about the quality of earnings. Also, I might be staying with family for a while until I am a bit stable, less pressure on my POF.

The only thing that I think will work will be home based jobs. There are quite a number of them. And they're mainly Customer Service jobs. There are also some Social work that can be done at home, with one day in the office. My friend currently does this, and she makes a lot of money. Her husband lives in the U.S.
What I advise is whilst doig your job search, filter it to home based roles. Most of these jobs require you have a home office set up. So you'll need a working desktop (what Nigerians call 'system'), printer, scanner, work station desk and the right swivel chair. Sometimes they send a HR person to inspect your home office to make sure it ticks their standard. You're also expected to be logged on to their server at times when you're expected to be working. So fast internet connection is a must have.
Other home based jobs include project coordinating/managing roles.

Truth is, they're not hard to find. You just have to use the right search engine and select what roles you think will work for you, also considering the salary as well.

Congratulations to you. Please I'd like to know if the Statement of Account of RSA was what you used or you requested for a letter from the PFA in addition

I used statement and letter from both RSA's.

While my hubby got the letter in a preferred format, stating he could have 25% access to his funds after 4 months of unemployment, my RSA refused to state this but went ahead and issued me an introduction letter and that was what I used.

Congratulations!

A quick one please, did your offer/promotion letter contain your Job duties? Also did you submit proof of your attempts to obtain a reference letter?
Thanks

My offer/promo letter only contained my Job Title. I didn't submit any proof of failed attempts to obtain the reference letter. If you have that, you can add it alongside your LOE and other supporting docs.
