God bless the President. Under Obasanjo presidency and reign of impunity... he turned Anambra into hell for the masses and Peter Obi himself...that was after his reign of horror as ngige held sway against the Ubas allies of godfather Obj... Thank God for the gift of Peter Obi to Anambra...who survived the onslaught and positively turned Anambra round into the envy of all and sundry... Obj reign was a horror not remembered at all...He used thugs to bastardize the state and shoot any dissenting voice down...hence Chinua Achebe rejected his national award as revolt for the institution of anarchy and bloodbath in his state Anambra by Obasanjo... |

Douglasdale: Truth is Neither Peter Obi or Chime is sellable outside their States. They sank with the PDP government and would do well to retire or maybe go to the Senate. Rochas is very well mouthed in the scheme of things and would without sweat beat both Chime and Obi on any national election. What's sellable to you?...how's PDP dead?...BTW who's rochas? ...which state including Imo can he boast of winning?... Plz...end this discussion... good pm |

Douglasdale: I read with utter disgust the way Anambra people deride Rochas., wetin the guy do una sef? As far as the south East is concerned Rochas Okorocha is the most prominent politician. He has won two elections with lesser parties proving that he indeed is a sellable candidate. He is the only Governor from APC in South East. He saw the handwriting on the wall and as a sharp guy tried to move apga into the APC but Obi had other plans. The Anambra people still out of their utter frustration and myopia voted Ngige (obvious Senate president) out. Who is that politician in Anambra state who can pick the APC ticket if you insist Rochas must no go? Don't you think you're sick upstairs with these assumptions of yours ...smh |
Politics › Re: 2019 Presidency: Rochas Okorocha To Takeover From Buhari-ifeduba by Whynotthetruth(m): 12:21pm On Jun 16, 2015 |
Douglasdale: For empirical evidence.... How long did Chime and Obi rule their respective States.
Where this two governors under an opposition party for once?
Are these govs you mentioned members of the APC.
Obi and Chime... Which of them has more national clout than Rochas?
What States can they win apart from their own States? I support good governance not mediocrity... Compare four years of those men with four years of Rochas and the difference is intimidating notwithstanding they never saw the kinda of money Rochas had... Peter Obi was bullied severally by Obj and was even impeached but the court returned him... Did anybody bully Rochas National politics is about your party political structure not yours...what structure did Yaradua have? They all depend on their integrity and performance in office at state level... BTW what clout does Rochas posses outside propaganda?... when he's even struggling to win Imo state...smh |

Government does not start and end with paying Imo workers salary Imo state receives the highest allocation in entire SE...what do they have to show for it?...how come CBN declared them insolvent with HUGE allocation?... where's unionism and LGA today in Imo state? |

PentiumPro: Sadly, the greatest opposition to his ambition will come from Iboland. I believe SE is for good governance and not he's our brother stuff...otherwise they would have voted the great Ikemba Ojukwu as against Obj or NRC with Igbo VP as against SDP Abiola&Kingibe or Ezeoke/buhari against Yar'adua... In all these occasions they voted against their people for people from other regions... Now, compare Rochas governance with Chime in Enugu, Peter Obi in Anambra etc and he's nowhere except lies and propaganda... Remember, his state Imo receives the highest allocation in SE but ranks among the poor performers... |

davseun2ta: Buhari's performance so far without ministers has shown that he is not just competent for the job, but he is the best person for the job!
see why, below......
●Muhammadu Buhari, President of Nigeria, has set world record in 10 days in office with his diplomatic shuttles focusing on Security and revamping the economy.
●He has been to Chad and Niger. He has been to Germany for G7 Summit, Sent Osinbajo to Sudan, Hosted Chad Basin Commission Heads of States Summit still on security, Off to AU Summit in South Africa.
●Dealing with oil thieves and already recovered over $3b dollars within 10 days. Getting the oil thieves to bring the diverted fuel and other products through the crude swap into the country which is why the fuel scarcity is no longer as bad as it was 3 weeks ago even with the refusal of marketers to import.
●DSS is investigating NNPC GMD and all the officials and suddenly we are told PH refinery will work by June 30. ●He has directed Salaries and Wages Commission to begin the process of downward review of salaries and allowances of executive, judicial and legislative officers. ●He has given directive to governors and Prison Service to work to decongest the Prisons.
●He has held briefing session with Permanent Secretaries. Currently, he is chairing the AU 25th Summit s Security Committee in S/Africa. Hmmm! Superman! May his zeal never wane, may his health never fail and his enemies and detractors never win

That singular proactive measure to remove fuel subsidy and deregulate the oil sector would have settled it all; but just this article observed, Nigerians through street protests, media chiefs, and political parties(ACN&CPC today; APC) chose to fight against Jonathan in honor of the cabals...And today they are crying corruption in oil sector...hypocritical, smart by half, and confused citizens |

Rejection of EU’s Economic Partnership Agreement, EPA, and continuing to reject foreign soldiers stamping on West African soil, and refusing the wayo Western solution to malaria scourge that Goodluck sidestepped to the annoyance of so called Western friends are all part of the untold reasons why they ganged up against Jonathan ouster using powerful propaganda machinery as was used in brainwashing Libyans who keeps regretting Gadaffi ouster till date.... SarahBabyxx: I'm not an 'ethnic jingoist''....I'm not even from the SW but I might as well be called a SWner since I spent most of my life in this region
No one was disputing the fact that SW states are in debt but the fact that you compared them with SOME states in the SE in a way that suits your purpose....fact is DEBT is DEBT....you can't try to sugarcoat it by making one region look less just to suit you purpose
The laughable part of your article was how you compared Ebonyi with osun....a state that we don't even know where its allocation goes to and Is still borrowing.....you even went as far making Enugu look like its economically strong when in fact it is one of most indebted states
As for your 'advice' for the SW....they know what is going...you think we don't know how akala ran Oyo?? I lived in ibadan for a while and I knw Akala is the worst thing that ever happened to OYO......I'd leave you to compare and contrast Akala and Ajimobi.....I don't even want to talk about Gbenga Daniel......go to Ogun they you'd know wassup....atleast if they 'borrowed' we know it was used for something....what did Elechi use the money for? Are you people holding him accountable? Don't even get me stated on Aba (Abia)
The fact is your house is burning and you want to put out the fire in another man's house....we're not all stupid we can read between the lines Sorry for my late reply... Yes, your last part confirms your prejudice and mindset which is a prerequisite for an ethnic jingoist; who only sees whatever opinion through such lens...Till you read this article with an open mind, you will keep saying same thing though in different ways... Fine...you have been in SW for long just like I do know them and not from a distance too... Have you been to SE especially Ebonyi state Have you been to Abia state?...Lagos is neck deep in debts but it is economically more viable than Anambra that owes nothing to anybody...Just like my write up observed, debts are NOT if they are used for viable projects... Ebonyi has similar economic fortunes as Osun both in agricultural terms, natural resource, and federal allocation; hence should be in almost same condition as Osun but they are not...They are by far better than Osun state so far... Enugu borrowed for its projects and I think they have some good results to show for it; hence even Fr Mbaka that runs as opposition to bad governance in the SE has not much complaint so far(cf with his stance on previous governments both in and out of Enugu state)...Can same be said of the Oyo?... I know some stuffs about ALL these states both on paper and in reality....where area are u from? |

In all suffice it to say that, be sure there can never be a time oil(energy) would seize to be a major factor in the world; though till USA influence or grip on world politics is whittled down, they will keep playing politics with price of oil using UAE as front remembering their I think 1894 or thereabout treaty...In this case, though Jonathan had issues with them with his gay law and establishing more business relationship with China as against them hence they wanted him out but there primary target in this oil price mess is Russia...they need to clip Putin... |

fx45: Good morning Sir! The problem is that majority of these people are untravelled and such are very ignorant of what happens outside their zone.
The fact that we're bold enough to call out our leaders for incompetence and for not meeting up to expected levels of service delivery does not imply that the state is in ruins. It simply means that we demand more from these leaders instead of shielding them because of unneccesary ethnic rivalry. We're never deceived or hoodwinked by propaganda. T.A Orji tried it and failed.
The message these South-Westerners have failed to get is that they should start holding their leaders accountable. They should demand more from them! I for sure share your sentiments... and I have been privileged to visit almost all SW states except Osun and knows firsthand what's there... It is based on my experience that I came up with this piece because I want them to hold their local leaders accountable... Most of them believe Nigeria began in Shagamu and ended in Badagry...They rarely travel outside their locals...I did most of my travels to their respective states just for knowledge sake, sightseeing and know what life is like outside my immediate environment... though I almost met a waterloo in one such travels.... |
