Well I don't know if you have any recent information on the economic buoyancy of Nigerian states but as at 2007 the top 10(in terms of GDP) had 4SS states, 2 NW states 3
SW states and 1SE state. Again on the debts some states are sunk in, if you checked that report I quoted it stated that most of the oil-rich states were indebted so the issue is prevalent across the political divide. Osun state YES is at its lowest ebb and I've countlessly denounced the governors incompetence but if you want to go political Osun is actually doing better under the APC.
As for Abia, salaries running into months haven't been paid and the partiality of the government in the equitable distribution of the dividends of democracy confirms its inefficacy

In as much as I don't want to blame Jonathan, under whose watch the affected states and indeed the FG became insolvent, he contributed in no small measures. That's incontrovertible.

@the topic, we have to always consider inequalities in allocation of states. That Akwa Ibom or Delta state is not crying does not mean their employees are not groaning. In the SW states you mentioned, it's unfortunate that the affected governors failed to save for rainy days as now.

I will support an FG bailout on:
1. Deduct reasonable amount from monthly allocation of states that are eventually bailed out.
2. FG pays directly into accounts of state's employees, their owed salary arrears while deducting on monthly basis from the state allocation.

I may not be talented in writing, but I do know the APC WAS not change Nigeria needed. no matter what you tell and show to an APC followers, they will still not believe, even with glaring evidence to buttress your point. the reason for that is not far fetched. No new project Was started After his eventual defection to the APC . even the once he started befor his defection was abandoned. there is more to APC than people know. I just pity the brain washed followers.

Abia is in ruins but you have not open a thread to advice them, nothing to write home about Ebonyi but the chief adviser is making noise about SW.

Pls face your region and allow SW people to complain, this thread will be necessary if the people of the SW are trooping to your region to beg which is not the case. Pls advice yourself before advising others.

Someone pointed it out to you that 18 states were owing salaries and other arrears and the quoted source included PDP and APC states from the North South East and West but of course the hypocritical you trashed it as one of those incoherent ramblings from the APC fanatics. I have never believed that we have political parties in the country, I call them platforms for the attainment of power so the problem has never been about parties but the system in which the country operates. Before that guy responds to the bolded, you mind telling him what Abians have enjoyed for the 16 years under PDP? Not to worry though, I know your reply-The people from there are so strong they don't need government to survive.

Mind you, I am not saying SE/SS are infallible but based on the propaganda in the system today, why should APC states be dying...it is contradictory and worst heat are my brothers in SW...

In as much as i wanted to agree with you on some valid points you raised, saying that south west states are the worse hit is a big lie.....Abia state is in the east, the state is the first to start owing workers, infact as we speak, the state is owing its workers for over 10 months, Enugu owes workers of its parastatals for 10 months also, imo is owing for 5 months, out of 5 south east states, 3 are owing.
Even Akwa Ibom state, the richest in terms of oil rrvenue is also owing, Rivers state nko? Benue is totally moribund, Bayelsa might be managing to pay its workers because of the small size of its civil service but even the governor admitted that most capital projects have been on hold now for over a year.

You cant compare the staff strength of Anambra's civil service to that of Osun, Osun has a much bigger stafg strenght. Even Soludo criticised the Anambra government for deciding to save money instead of investing the money in projects that will galvanise the state into an economic hub.

It does not make sense saving money when 80% of your indigenes have to migrate to to other places if they hope to make any head way in business.

Yes our governors have been wasteful and stupid, but it is not in any way limited to the south west governors, it is a national thing. And GEJ did not help matters he allowed a culture of waste to thrive without any attempt to check it.

The era of oil is gradually coming to an end, its time to buckle up and face realities, as for the south west.... don't bother about us, if the Abacha and Goodluck era could not bring us down, we shall surely survive.

If a loan was taken to build a road or build a school did you factor in the economic benefits of those things to the future of that child from Osun as compared to the one from Anambra?

And before you even go further,let me also remind you that the current economic woes befalling the APC's states has no the same effect on their fellow Southern states.

Your analysis is flawed on so many levels. Not only ACN controlled states are facing the cash crunch. The problem started when Nigeria lost a major market for its oil and the prices of crude fell.
This was obviously not helped by Jonathan's mismanagement of oil revenues and the economy in general.
To single out SW states is not only simplistic but also foolish.
