As far as barcanista is concern he has know point or say in this, he actually kept quiet when he was still at the other side when it was reported that Buhari said Abacha was not corrupt...I will not support buhari over that statement which I believe was wrong for him to have said. Though I can still understand why he said so when he was put on the spotlight. probably due to his relationship with the family of the Abacha he could not Say it directly when asked!...Same case apply with Ezekwesili when she was asked if Obasanjo was corrupt...imagine if they ask Ngozi okonjo iweala was asked if jonathan is corrupt, what do u think her response will be?...That said, I think Buhari was wrong to have said abacha was not corrupt, he probably shud have answered the question diplomatically..
This message is about facts and not about your immature attack on Op notwithstanding his political conviction.

When he defected from PDP to APC; he was wise and a patriot to you...but suddenly after he went back to the PDP where he came from, he became a devil to you. It's a sign of deep seated hatred in you and intolerance cum disrespect for other people,s opinion and conviction outside yours. It shows you're a fanatic same quality exhibited by terrorists only that you don't carry physical bomb....grow up

Wrong! It is called STATE PARDON because it is the statutory responsibility oif the State via the National Council of State

Under section 175 of the 1999 constitution, a state pardon is granted by the president after consultation with the Council of State. It says:

“(1) The President may – (a) grant any person concerned with or convicted of any offence created by an Act of the National Assembly a pardon, either free or subject to lawful conditions;
“(2) The powers of the President under subsection (1) of this section shall be exercised by him after consultation with the Council of State.”

The Council of State, under the Third Schedule of the 1999 constitution comprises of the President, Vice President, all state governors, former Presidents and Heads of State, all former Chief Justices of Nigeria, the Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the Attorney-General of the Federation.

Meanwhile, How can Buhari conclude that the allegations were Baseless despite the raw FACTS staring at his face?

Honestly, we all know the pardon was the presidency's idea so what did u xpect d council of state to dohuh Moreover, the council of state has no statutory powers thru wich they can veto against the presidency other than to rubber stamp.

I have always wanted to say this: for y'all always screaming your lungs out on tinubu, its simple if u av evidence against him, pls bring it on n lets c. Tinubu has bn travelling in n out of dis country n nobody has accosted him for any wrong doing.

Excavating all this history will not change a single second of action which includes d declaration of gmb as d president-elect nor change majority of Nigerians' perception of him! Pdp, ait, ffk, metuh n co did worse n u no how it all went down! Even d same pdp r now pleading with gmb to act a mandela which invariably means gmb shld overlook all they did against him! Like they say: success is the best revenge!

U tried to justify gej's giving abacha a national award buh wat can u say abt d presidential pardon alams gothuh
I am sure if d UK govt hadnt insisted on jailing ibori right there, emperor jonah wld still av given him anoda pardon n perhaps even make him nigeria's high commisioner to the UK!!!

Abacha still had sum iota of shame in stealing dis monies under false headings but under emperor jonah, stealing isnt corruption n it was brazen!

Guy, pls continue to entertain us esp durin dis harsh times! We all need sum gud laff.
Hypocrite!!! yes it is entertainment because its about your lord and master...

Alam got presidential pardon constitutionally meant for criminals not saints like Tinubu tongue in state council where buhari and all APC governors are members and approved same by all...

Sure corruption allegation is false and entertainment once the names of buhari, amechi, tinubu, fashola, saraki, bagudu, goje etc and all APC lords are in them...

Is his apology going to return the remaining money(if any) yet to be returned? 1.
GEJ was a new leader, wasn't he? What did we gain from him? Nothing! You speak as if he was booted out of office after 8months; he had 6yrs to restructure the country!

2. 3.
Like I said in 1 above, GEJ had 6yrs to implement all that you asked: what did he do with his 6yrs in office? The last time I checked, aboki was not the governor of Abia state for the past 8yrs; why do you think that regionalism will favor the masses? Its the same corrupt TA Orjis that will embezzle the money.

Why didn't this your article suffice during GEJ tenure? All you hypocrites crying foul right now are doing so because power has returned to the north. You didn't cry foul all 6 dark yrs GEJ made us pass through.
Did the call for restructuring start today?...No
Was it none existent during Jonathan tenure?...No
What did he do about?...Confab was to address this agitation...
What such achieved?... Yes..some quasi-restructuring was agreed upon in the final report which is reason why some who benefit from present scenario want him out...
Why continual agitation? because buhari and APC didn't support confab report implementation which would allow for some restructuring hence would likely allow the report to gather dust...thanks

BTW I am free to write my article any day I deem fit...Jonathan guaranteed me my freedom before and after speech...will buhari and APC do same?...,tomorrow will tell...go write yours...dalu

What exactly do you want from the North? We should kill ourselves to reduce our population or we give you resource control and starve on top of boundless undeveloped mineral resources? We have all suffered a destiny-bending military rule, the soldiers never cared if they were southerners or northerners. General Buhari's insistence and commitment to diversification of the economy is not a coincidence, the North is tired of you screaming cry-babies as well.

Bottom line: Be patient, you will get your resource control on our terms, but until then, the North will naturally continue to have the upper hand.

We were thrown together by destiny
2.The white men gave power to the North albeit through rigging.
3The South is more powerful than the North if they can come together.
4.North solicits the support of one part of the south against the other because the South cannot come together.
5.South East especially is always wary of the South West since the time of Azikiwe.I don't know why.

GEJ wasn't particularly voted against due to the mouthed non performance. The main reasons you have already outlined in your article sir. Yes, he may have fallen short of the expectations of the people, but we all know the hidden reasons. I won't delve into that again.

All in all, I'm deeply happy with his loss.

You mean once we give more powers to the states , citizens will live happily ever after. I mean at what point in the trajectory of catastrophe do we look back and say we are done with justification by ethnicity and religion. what is good for the poor northerner is good also for the poor southerner. If you neglect this cornerstone upon which the superstructure of egalitarian society rests, you are the very enemy of your own progress. GEJ and frontline ND leaders had the opportunity of strengthening minorities with laws and institutions at least 4 years ago. But what happened, they maintained the status quo till the 11th hour. what were they doing? will it better for me to go to Ghana or Calabar or PH for my education or medical needs or security? Imagine if ND states have exclusive have one refinery each and they sell petrol to the rest of the country like others sell the commodities? Do you know how much great its impact will be on the economy of ND? Sir the first problem is greed, the second is corruption and the third is mediocrity! Let EFCC, Code of Conduct Bureau and ICPC move in on all got officials, you will forget where you come from. But it will never happen until we stop judging our leaders by the colour of their skins.
Bro, what we crave and advocate for here is regionalism... Each region is free to have as many states as they desire...Empower regions not states...Regions can engage in healthy competition and comparative advantage in biz...

PassingShot:
The problem I have with your post is postulating that Jonathan didn't lose as a result of his performance. The facts and figured are there for all to compare with his immediate predecessors and judge. When we look at our current GDP, ECA, SWF, security, high profile corruption cases and infrastructural development and compare with what his regime earned in its 5.5 years, and compare the stats with Yar'Adua's and OBJ's tenure, we MUST accept that GEJ failed.

Did OBJ perform to expectations? The answer is a capital NO. Was late Yar'Adua delivering the goods? I'll score him 60%.

Agreed that GEJ paid the price for PDP's 16 years of misgovernance but he contibuted 5.5 of those 16 years.

Now to the part of true federalism, restructuring and all what not, I'm personally not bothered as much by it. It's good to think that things will be better with 100% autonomy but facts on ground do not lend credence to such believe.

In one of my recent posts on a similar thread, this was my submission:
1)Performance was a ploy used to cover the main scheme...
2)I find it very insincere for you to say that our GDP, SWF was better under Obj...Even as Fashola et al are still in court challenging Jonathan to share the SWF. We only had a depreciation in ECA account for which it is in the public domain how the money was shared after so much pressure by governors.

3)Security: In as much as I feel the pain of the innocents there. I refuse to blame Jonathan not with the kind of support northern leaders like buhari, shettima, Borno elders etc were giving to him. In such case; the easiest option to achieve fast result would have been a repeat of what Obj did in Odi and Zakibiam. Thank God, he didn't do such. Chibok is the worst of scam replete with numerous questions but no answer. Human lives of innocent citizens were used by these elders and leaders of the north to play dirty politics...I pray the blood and pain of those innocents be avenged by God...Gen. Ihejirika was doing well in the war but was blackmailed by Shettima via his aides and other northern leaders. Jonathan listened to them and removed him. Instead of peace; bombing escalated. It's for this support of buhari to Jonathan in the fight against boko haram; that I encourage all to give him same kind of support. may law of karma take its course on him.

4)To say that Obj performed better in infrastructure. I was cracking my head to remember those infrastructure undertaken by him even in his SW. I think you will make a good liar in this regard.

5)Your opinion of your SW holding their leaders accountable is prone to debate because realities seem to disagree.
