Thanks for all this.. I've actually been hoping to come settle in my state one of these days and I loved the way I met Onitcha the last time I travelled home.

You know, the problem I have is that I don't reside in Anambra so I might believe one thing or the other from different set of people. Now I'll be more cautious and do some finding myself. I used to think Ngige was the best thing to happen to Anambra judging from what he achieved in such a short time, till Obiano came and people started hyping him because of his works at Onitcha.

So does that mean Obi Peter is/was the best then?
Sincerely, Obi did the same kilometers of road Ngige did in three years in one year...GO AND VERIFY BRO...I singled out road because that's the signature project for which people echo ngige name as a performer...

But in all, Ngige cannot be compared to Obi achievements maybe because Obi had 8years while Ngige had 3years and Obiano is merely 1year...But for me; Obi was and is a huge blessing to Anambra because no governor can afford to go beyond the standard he has set in Anambra...

Remember, even opposition parties attended his handing over ceremony where he announced our huge purse of savings after all the intimidating projects...

He didn't solve all of Anambra problems but he carved a niche in each sector boldly...

Finally, no governor in south east who has spent 8years has an achievement so much as Obi though politicians complained he was stingy to them with resources...but to me; it favoured the masses not politicians...Archbishop Obinna of Imo state and Fr Mbaka of Enugu state used him as a yardstick to challenge other governors...

I partially agree wiv u. Obi dint spend 8 yrs talking, he rili performed in d area of road construction bt he paid less attention to education. He never looked into d problems of Anambra State Uni. Obiano is a better performer bt Obi, I give him a pass mark
Is either you are liar or not in Anambra...You said Obi did less in educationhuh
1)Who built at least one school block in all primary schools in anambra state?
2)Who gave new hiace bus, new equipped computer centres with generators to ALL secondary schools in Anambra?.
3)Who returned schools to their respective owners especially missionary schools?
4)Who revived the comatose Nwafor Orizu college of education Nsugbe?
5)Who built the new permanent site of Anambra university with roads etc and moved students therehuh This is after Ono moved them to Neni...Mbadinuju moved them to Uli and Ngige moved them to Alor... Instead of Obi to learn from this bigoted tradition of moving the university to governor's town...He set up a committee that selected Igbariam hence he moved it to Igbariam instead of Agulu like others use to do...
6)Who cleared pension and salary arrears of civil servants and teachers?
7)Who implemented the minimum wage increments in anambra...

How can you guys spread hatred and animosity and ignorance publicly without qualms of consciencehuh

Lmao! Didn't know he's from Plateau na..

But why you dey insult am na?

Anyways, if that is the case, then I believe you..

This April I will also make some findings myself cuz am travelling to Anambra
On what ground do you believe her? Because she blackmailed the other dude to be residing in Plateau? Why not check her profile to see how many anti-Obi threads she has opened...She's is simply averse to anything Obi and miserably stalking and carrying burdens of hatred on a man who doesn't know he exists...

Do not make the mistake of badmouthing Obi in Anambra if you don't want to be lynched bro...

On the side of truth Obi performed so well that he's almost adored in Anambra as a god close to Ojukwu kind of honour...If he didn't perform well; why did he win Ngige during his reelection in 2010 and when he brought Obiano in 2014 after Obiano has served in Obi's fidelity bank meritoriously...

I can list for you sector by sector Obi's achievements for which you can call indigenes of beneficiary towns/organization/body etc to confirm...

Obi was governor so simple that all the senior prefects(Sp) of all secondary schools in anambra has his direct contact number...Traditional rulers and town presidents became active participants in government... Each town had at least a specialized government fund and project annually... All schools had computer centres with official school bus(new hiace bus) and generator for computer centres... College of education anambra was revived...Anambra university was moved to new permanent site...roads uncountable were built...state secretariats were built...anids and tracas transport service was introduced and revived respectively... government house rebuilt...teaching hospital built...several hospitals renovated and equipped...salaries increased...all arrears paid...pension improved...employment of teachers and civil servants in great numbers...grew big savings for the state...et cetera...

I can go on and on bro...Ojukwu was delighted by his achievements in first term that he made Obi's reelection his LAST WISH to Anambra people... though he disappointed many by decamping to PDP but he was honourable enough to leave all his aides and commissioners behind till date...Obiano is using most of Obis aides and commissioners today even the all important Commissioner of Works and co...

forget the hatred mongers like Freeglobe and keneking...

Angry youths bar Shettima from campaigning in southern Borno...on march 06, 2015 at 12:33 am in news

By Ndahi Marama
MAIDUGURI—Angry youths in Biu, Bayo, Shani, Kwaya-Kusar and Hawul Local Government Areas of Southern Borno have practically refused Governor Kashim Shettima entry into the areas to campaign, accusing him of neglect and failure to fulfill promises made.

The youths in their hundreds, took to the streets of major towns in the five local government areas chanting anti-Shettima slogans, and voicing out their dissatisfaction
with the Borno State government, which they accused of encouraging the insecurity going on in their area.

Vanguard gathered that since yesterday, some aggrieved youths had protested on the streets of Biu town which led to the destruction of a mounted podium which was suppose to be used to address people by the governor.
The protest also led to vandalism of one of the government’s lodges suspected to be where the governor was to pass the night if he visited.

According to the youths, the governor is hatching plans to have their communities attacked, so that they can be relocated to camps in Maiduguri where they will be forced
to vote for the APC.
While accusing Governor Shettima of being selective in the treatment of victims of insurgency, the youths vowed to resist attempts to take their people to camps in
Maiduguri for the purpose of election, stressing that the governor refused to visit the areas, even when they were being attacked.

BY NDAHI. MARAMA, MAIDUGURI

For daring to grant audience to opposition political parties, all first class emirs in Borno state risk loosing their seats, as Governor Kashim Shettima has vowed to sanction all traditional rulers who refuse to support the APC.

Speaking at the palace of the emir of Shani, Alhaji Nasiru Shettima Mailafiya on Friday, the Governor frowned at a situation where emirs grant audience to opposition political parties, especially the Peoples Democratic Party
candidate, Muhammad Imam and former Governor of the state, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, who were given a heroic welcome in the area recently.

Gov Shettima told the emir that he will dethrone any traditional ruler who hobnobs with the opposition as his re-election bid is a do or die affair, and he will not take lightly to any act of sabotage, especially from the traditional institution.

He queried the emir of Shani for receiving the PDP campaign team in his palace, during it’s recent campaign tour of the area, stressing that the emir should bear in mind that he has the powers to do or undo.

Shettima was apparently irked by the cold reception he received in the area, which he attributed to the emir’s sympathy for the PDP.

But the emir, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Nairu Shettima Mailafiya did not take the threat lying low, as he told Governor Shettima to his face that as a father, he is under
obligation to receive all manner of people, including people of different political persuasions.
He maintained that he has no sympathy for any political party, but is merely living up to his oath of office by being fair and just to all people, stressing that the traditional
institution should not be dragged into unnecessary political controversies, hence his open door policy.

Alhaji Nasiru reminded Governor Shettima that part of his charges upon him during the presentation of his staff of office was to carry everybody along and to be fair and just in his dealings with people.

The Governor who departed Shani in annoyance is expected to arrive Biu, another potentially hostile reception.

If people have their newspapers seized from them, taken to the police station and not released, I don't know how else to define arrested. Buhari did not unilaterally put anyone in jail, most cases were tried in special courts called tribunals. Like I said previously incase you missed it, his approach may have been unconventional, but there was no doubt that the man abhorred corruption.

One man says that you cannot say another man is corrupt without providing proof, another man grants him a post humus award. Who is the greater sinner in this case? Every single thing you accuse Buhari of, GEJ has done worse whereas any good GEJ may want to claim to have done GMB has done far better.

I gave you a link earlier, why all these rhetorics and back and forth. If you claim that GEJ did not arrest them, then Buhari can also claim that he did not arrest the journalist that it was security personnel who did it. If Buhari takes responsibility for their arrest, GEJ should do same in his own case. 33 brief cases, Ekwueme, etc have been dealt with even here on nairaland, use your search button bro. His approach may have been unconventional, but there is no doubt what so ever that the man abhors corruption, stealing or fraud and does not try to give them a new dictionary definition or call any of them "ordinary" or commission projects that are not working.
Buhari jailed them but in Jonathan; it is normal invitation to police for questions after which you go home...kindly get a dictionary and see the meaning of "jail"...

Buhari said Abacha isn't corrupt and didn't loot the treasury...Hope he's a saint to you bro?

Wait until he gets to power. Nobody gets to power on his own or by his own strength alone. That is a major principle of attaining power; you have to ride on the wings of others (both good and bad) to get to the top. Just patiently wait until he gets to power before making this your statement again and then we shall know who's really the boss.

As for Prof Dora, you are rather the one who is not seeing the bigger picture. I only cited an example to let you understand that it is possible to cleanse a system without having to kill everybody. Yes she might have sacked a few people, but she didn't sack everyone. There is no organisation which is made up of only saints. You actually need the good and the bad to make progress; what matters most is the ability of the pilot at the top to control the excesses of the bad seed. GEJ obviously cannot control the bad seed, he cant control anyone at all including his own wife. Even Jesus Christ wined and dined with sinners and he even had a Judas amongst his kitchen cabinet. At the end, every one serves a purpose.
You are too petty for mentioning Jonathan can't control his wife...What has his personal life got to do with this?...Can you compare his family life to that of buhari?...Jonathan is far better in his private family life bro...

Be sure that if buhari isn't & can't control APC now so how can he control a lager body Nigeria with adjoining sabotage? Will Tinubu; Amechi; Atiku; Saraki etc allow their investments(billions) to gohuh...

Jonathan just shrugged off such burden but they are all with buhari now screaming 'change'

Is arresting journalist part of the democracy you know. At least GMB can hide under the fact that his was a military regime. As for the question if he was the only military regime yet he was harsh, except you do not know your history you would know that all military regimes tried to suppress the press. But your claim that they were jailed for centuries is false, it was only politicians where were convicted to be corrupt that had that lengthy jail term.

GEJ had on at least 3 occasion jailed press men and his is suppose to be a democratically elected government.
Jailed by Jonathanhuh... get your dictionary and come back again bro...or give me names of the jailed...

Why didn't buhari jail Gov. Was Gen Buhari ever in PDP?... NO!
Was Prof Osinbajo ever in PDP?... NO!

Please let's leave all these talk about "APC major players were once in PDP so therefore APC government must be the same as PDP." That is a fallacious statement. In every organisation or gathering, what matters most is the character of the person at the top. When Prof. Dora Akunyili was appointed the head of NAFDAC in April 2001, she didn't have to sack everyone previously working at the agency. But her personal zeal, focus and militantly uncompromising stance forced everyone within NAFDAC to sit up and do the right thing. Owing to her strong stance, the formally corrupt and impotent organisation became very efficient. I repeat and I repeat again, what matters most is the nature of the person at the top. Even though Prof Dora may be gone today (God bless her soul), we still have thousands of Dora's in Nigeria today who are capable of delivering if only the oga at the top would permit them to.

If you place people like Stella Oduah or Bode George or Amaechi or even Tinubu under the authority of a Gen Buhari, they would act accordingly and you would be surprised at how efficient these same set of thieves can be. The last time I checked, no matter the antecedents of the individuals in APC, what matters most is the integrity and courage of the person at the top.
You must be an alien bro...Akunyili got loads of people sacked...Moreso, it is very myopic to compare success in an agency of Akunyili to governance of a COMPLEX state like Nigeria...btw did akunyili succeed same way in Ministerial appointmenthuh...Osibanjo was part of tinubu corrupt regime...
If buhari could hold his own as he did in ANPP, CPC etc why is he not in charge in APC now?...All his actons today contradict most of what he stands for or promised in the past....
Eg He said he will fight corruption and his party APC came out through Oyegun and contradicted that...
So take it into your head now; buhari cannot control Tinubu not now not ever...you think after funding him; they will leave him to rule and go to bed...wake up bro...
