If people have their newspapers seized from them, taken to the police station and not released, I don't know how else to define arrested. Buhari did not unilaterally put anyone in jail, most cases were tried in special courts called tribunals. Like I said previously incase you missed it, his approach may have been unconventional, but there was no doubt that the man abhorred corruption.

One man says that you cannot say another man is corrupt without providing proof, another man grants him a post humus award. Who is the greater sinner in this case? Every single thing you accuse Buhari of, GEJ has done worse whereas any good GEJ may want to claim to have done GMB has done far better.

That is a major principle of attaining power; you have to ride on the wings of others (both good and bad) to get to the top. As for Prof Dora, you are rather the one who is not seeing the bigger picture. I only cited an example to let you understand that it is possible to cleanse a system without having to kill everybody. Yes she might have sacked a few people, but she didn't sack everyone. There is no organisation which is made up of only saints. You actually need the good and the bad to make progress; what matters most is the ability of the pilot at the top to control the excesses of the bad seed. GEJ obviously cannot control the bad seed, he cant control anyone at all including his own wife. Even Jesus Christ wined and dined with sinners and he even had a Judas amongst his kitchen cabinet. At the end, every one serves a purpose.

GEJ had on at least 3 occasion jailed press men and his is suppose to be a democratically elected government.

Please let's leave all these talk about "APC major players were once in PDP so therefore APC government must be the same as PDP." That is a fallacious statement. In every organisation or gathering, what matters most is the character of the person at the top. When Prof. Dora Akunyili was appointed the head of NAFDAC in April 2001, she didn't have to sack everyone previously working at the agency. But her personal zeal, focus and militantly uncompromising stance forced everyone within NAFDAC to sit up and do the right thing. Owing to her strong stance, the formally corrupt and impotent organisation became very efficient. I repeat and I repeat again, what matters most is the nature of the person at the top. Even though Prof Dora may be gone today (God bless her soul), we still have thousands of Dora's in Nigeria today who are capable of delivering if only the oga at the top would permit them to.

If you place people like Stella Oduah or Bode George or Amaechi or even Tinubu under the authority of a Gen Buhari, they would act accordingly and you would be surprised at how efficient these same set of thieves can be. The last time I checked, no matter the antecedents of the individuals in APC, what matters most is the integrity and courage of the person at the top.

Now the Buhari of the past has presented himself as a reformed Democrat willing to negotiate as democrats do. Yet some people are still unhappy.

The man knows his worth and credentials he's not begging for your votes. If you believe he's got it vote for him and if you think he's not got it vote against him. That's why they call it democracy.

To get to the top in a corrupt environment, you have no choice but to whine and dine with the Devil. GEJ did same with innocent mien of "goodluck" and we all gullibly supported him because he was relatively unknown but his kinsmen from Bayelsa were the first to kick against him cos they knew better. He proved to be a greater DEVIL to the extent that almost all the known devils in the country deserted him for the General. Prof Wole Soyinka described him as "a madman with a cigarette lighter in a filling station". Even one of the greatest DEVILs in the history of this great nation declared himself a saint compared to him.

This time around, its a different ball game entirely. Unlike the unknown angel who turned out to be a great DEVIL, GMB is well known (to some people as a devil) to most people and we know what he's capable of doing to the devils surrounding him. We believe him to be a white pap that will come out of a black pot.

Once again its democracy everyone should have the freedom to choose. All we ask for from GEJ (if we are to go by his personal description of being a democrat) is to give us the freedom to choose and decide who leads us from May 29.

1. I have been writing about the failures and shortcomings of Jonathan and the PDP(though I left out the positives). I wasn't wrong. But lemme add that I criticised the government for not going so hard on BH(Check my points on why I support Buhari). Today, the story of BH is different, the government is coming hard on them. But I talked more on Buhari positives/managing his image on nl and disputed some propaganda.

2. I have no reason to apologise to Jonathan when I never lied on him. I said he wasn't too hard on fighting corruption for instance. I also talked about how the economic growth is yet to be felt on the masses(this point Mrs Alison reitrated few days ago). My defection to PDP only made me to appreciate the good done so far by the government, suggest ways for improvement, constructively criticise and expose the double standard/hypocrisy of the APC. I have never said GEJ has done excellently(Majority of GEJites won't say such either except when in comparism with APC).

3. I don't play zombie-like politics where I say things out of politics. My number 1 and 2 spoke in-depth of my position.

4. When I look at Buhari's antecedent as a candidate, I see a patriotic citizen and an astute administrator. GEJ even spoke well of Buhari. Many people have their own view of him but his assertiveness and other leadership attributes makes even his critics marvel. As ANPP and CPC candidates, Buhari was in firm control of the party. He refused to support the GNU of Yaradua after the 2007 Obj organised flawed election. However, the APC Buhari has shown that he is not what we use to know him. He is not incharge, his party countered him on fighting corruption when the chairman said "they have agreed not to probe the past". He once said that Nigerians will fund his campaign but we see corrupt politicians doing it. The Buhari of the past participate in political debates. The Buhari of the past went to court three(3) times because he felt the elections were rigged, which was a legitimate thing. He never threatened to boycott the court and install alternative government, like what we are seeing. The Buhari of the past run his own campaign and not through a proxy(in Osinbajo). The Buhari of the past had his campaign team fill with reputable men and women like Odumakin and Bakare, not the Tinubu and Atiku type. The Buhari of the past says something and means it. He wouldn't say "No of office of First lady" and turn around to involve his wife in his campaign. It is either he has lost it due to old age or he has been compromised. Meanwhile, the true character of any leader is reflected on majority of his followers. If he can't influence his associate and followers, then something is wrong.

On this note, I restate my alignment with Jonathan. He isn't "perfect" but there are positives to hold on to and hope to change the negatives.

Abacha, had beautiful economic policies which were realistic and not a figment of ones wish. Otherwise he would have continued to force people to sell their products at below cost price, breaking into shops that closed and refused to sell to sell off their products at ridiculously low price.
