PoliticsRe: IMF Ranks Nigeria Second Worst In The World In Use Of Sovereign Wealth Fund by Whynotthetruth(m): 11:10pm On Apr 10, 2019
wirinet:
Sovereign Wealth Funds with crude selling at less than $60 to the barrel? I am sure the writer has no idea what he is talking about.
Sovereign wealth fund is like excess crude account that is used for investment purposes to generate additional income. So where do we get monies to put into the sovereign wealth funds when we hardly make enough to pay salaries, not to talk of money to build infrastructure.
Maybe the report was talking about 2013 when the dollar was overv $100.

Buhari is mismanaging all and still borrowing us away into slavery...Has he saved a Kobo since he came? and crude has always been high above budget benchmark...what infrastructure did he put in place to justify the doubling of our debt portfolio? Corruption just came alive in buhari

Sovereign wealth fund is the excess crude account. It was reformed because the excess crude account was not created by law and didn't have any books of deposits and withdrawals. Now, the said ranking was done based on size of assets viz a viz GDP. Our economy is heavily dependent on crude and since crude sold below even our budgetary benchmark, it would be difficult to save extra to install capital assets. This is why we were ranked low,

he can lock up anything he likes, when he is tired , he will stop locking ...

Nobody will buy GTB property from him..

He doesnt have the title documents , he cant claim equitable mortgage on the properties..
STOP CONFUSING YOURSELF PLEASE...

1)If those branches go under lock, customers will divert their business...GTB is losing money...

2)If those branches persistently remain locked, panic will set in...mass withdrawal of funds will set in...

3) Remember how GTB builds branches in "too many areas" ...close of one is close of almost a town...

4)If those branches remain locked, bad publicity will hike....shares of GTB will be affected...watch from Monday....those investments are sensitive to bad media...

In all of these, GTB is losing money, business and opportunities... Finally, they will still pay all money accrued which is susceptible to incremental interest rate...

Read GTB press release on take over of branches and see it's an empty rhetorics from a weak point of view...unless government intervenes to intimidate Innoson which may not be 100% easy, GTB has more than alot to deal with.... Goodnight!!!

PoliticsON THE OBI/MBAKA MATTER. by Whynotthetruth(op): 12:45pm On Dec 03, 2018
On the Obi/Mbaka Matter
Val Obienyem

I have personally reached out to many people restraining them from attacking Fr. Ejike Mbaka because of the love for Peter Obi. If you truly respect him, please and please, do not attack Fr. Mbaka. In the first instance, His Excellency does not interpret the comments of Fr. Mbaka the way several observers do. While one may disagree with him, we should always acknowledge that he speaks and acts from the higher perspective of wisdom.

His Excellency believes that every situation, however unpleasant, has positive lessons for us. Only yesterday, His Excellency's younger brother, Rev. Fr. Obi had come to his house in Onitsha to celebrate mass for him. It is his habit to celebrate mass in the mornings before leaving for other engagements because he usually attends many other masses/Church services based on invitation. On some occasions, he arrives late or leaves before the mass ends in order to attend to others that invited him -- but always strengthened by the fact of having had a full mass.

Yesterday, Obi as usual, informed Fr. Mbaka that he would not stay for the bazaar since he had a meeting at Awka and a 3pm flight from Asaba to Lagos. The drama we do not want to start recalling made him miss the Awka meeting and Asaba flight and several events he had been billed to attend in Lagos, including end-of-year meeting of APU, Lagos Branch. Eventually, he made his trip on a 5.30pm flight from Akanu Ibiam [Enugu] Airport.

I witnessed all that transpired at Adoration Ground. Riding in the same car with His Excellency, he laughed over the encounter; remaining silent on what he thought about the incident. Noticing my displeasure, he told me calmly that whatever happened in our lives was part of the lessons of life and history that God used to teach us.

Many people are unaware that His Excellency's younger brother is a Priest and his elder sister a Reverend Sister. He has full respect for two of them for devoting their lives to the service of God. "Val," he had said to me, "likewise, I have full respect for other men of God and will always remember them in my prayers. When they go wrong as humans subject to human frailties, ours is not to castigate them, but to pray to God to lead them aright".

When I raised the issue of his tremendous contributions to the Church, he insisted that those contributions are not made for him to be remembered in the kind of way I was trying to do, but as an appreciation of God's love and benevolence to us. "Val”, he continued, “you know my views on this. donations to God, except when we have points to prove, they attract more rewards when done secretly".

What else do I say? Please let us leave Fr. Mbaka alone, our duty to him is prayers for God to lead him aright.

Valentine Obienyem is Media SA to Peter Obi...

Lol, with all evidences and facts plus figures flying the cyber space you still want somebody to come and massage your ignorant post I guess.

If you say the economic policies of the Buhari administration is poor, that's because you are not benefiting directly, it's understandable as your lots can't see it because you are blinded by what you understand which is get it quick not minding the future. Mind you those who the economic policies are helping won't come in nairaland to wail, they'll rather enjoy themselves in peace silently.

Whether economic policy that Jonathan had was so good that they had to keep borrowing money to service recurrent expenditures rather than capital.

Buhari meets recessions because his predecessors creates one before he comes around.

Nigeria is getting better, you can choose to keep you blind sight to it, but those that are seeing it will keep seeing it. Lol, majority of those that are seeing it are the ones that'll come out to vote not you lots that will hide your face in your rooms on election days.

Have fun.

If you want fact and figures I believe you are smart enough to find them, if not I can't help you, or better still flip through the pages of Nairaland you will see reports released by debt management office.
But even if you read them you will refuse to see what's in front of you.

You can't compare the circumstances Buhari operates with that of Jonathan. Only people driven by sentiments do this, like you.

Buhari's economic decision was not bad, at first I criticized it, but obviously Buhari knew something we don't. Buhari banned importation of goods, implement the use of TSA, rigorous approach to agriculture, going after looted funds.
Then he cleared the backlog owed petroleum marketers, more than 3 batches of bail out funds were given to governors to clear salary and pension areas.

If your GEJ government was such a success how come Buhari is the one paying off and clearing these debts, with how much? If you are being honest with your self you will see that oil crossed the $50 mark per barrel not long ago, even at that it's no where near, $110 per barrel, and you are comparing them side by side? how dumb.

I have told you guys go and read the American recession under Obama and its effects, you will see that Buhari handled the recession well.

And you think the large crowd of ignorant nairalanders will understand this?
Even with all this the FG is looking to implement a new minimum wage, just some months after coming out of recession.
If Buhari was indeed the reason for recession how come he was able to take our Foreign reserve from $30bn to over $40bn within 3 years, if he was the problem he should have depleted the foreign reserve.
Since you aren't ignorant Oga plz tell us;
1)How much was minimum wage before Jonathan came? how much was NYSC stipend? Didn't Jonathan increase same and paid yet you accuse of mismanagement?
2)Oga Prof, what's our savings now? since price of crude has been relatively above oil benchmark...
3)What's the implementation percentage of capital projects since 2015?
4)What's debt ratio to economic growth since buhari presidency?
5)What factors contributed to recession if not Buhari's economic mistakes?
6)Is it a coincidence that he managed recession in 1983 & 2015?

Add this to the stolen money by Saraki controlled NASS and you'd wonder how this government unlike our brothers GEJ wasn't even borrowing to pay salary like the clueless one and his fat minister had done despite making the most money ever in the history of oil sales in Nigeria. To hell with PDP. Ipobs can vote Atiku as the president of Biafra, anything but PDP!
Can you compare price of oil now to when Obj was therehuh
Can you compare ND militancy under Obj to what happened under buhari?

Can you compare boko Haram menace under Jonathan and Buhari?

Each had its own challenges...btw BUHARI vindictive attitude and poor management made IPOB popular cum destructive ...

fiizznation:
You are right to some extent. But saying Kwankwaso's presidential ambition is just to tackle Ganduje is what I don't agree with. They don't agree with one another, yeah everyone knows that. What did you think his kwankwasiya movement is all about? About Ganduje? No sir. Kwankwaso has been working to become the president since 1999.

He had to leave Apc because Buhari wanted another term and as the astute politician that I know he is, he already knew Buhari will automatically get the APC ticket, so why should he fight over what he knows he can't win. Is now or never for Kwankwaso. And he can put up a good fight against Buhari if he did his homework very well.

We all know that there is no way Kwankwaso can defeat Buhari in NE and SW. These two regions are locked down for Baba Buhari. But the NW,SE,NC and SS will be up for contention, anyone with a good PR team and enough money to spend can get the needed votes from this aforementioned regions.

Kwankwaso in very popular in the NW. Their votes in the NW might be split 55/45 between Buhari and Kwankwaso.

Take for e.g, I'm pro-Buhari but my siblings are pro-Kwankwaso. And this is how it is among many families in the NW.

I still believe Buhari can't be defeated due to some certain factors which favors him very much, but again nothing is entirely impossible in politics.

Who ever thought Buhari will defeat Jonathan? Trump defeated Clinton and nobody saw that coming. Possibility in politics is never washed away. You have to look at things at all angles.
If ONLY you can continue this way here without those your gibberish sad
Can you also enumerate those factors favouring Buhari?
kudos once more bro
