Birth story


I started having strong pubis pain on Tuesday, so I decided to go to clinic on Wed since it was ANC day. I was checked that morning and was told I was 5cm gone only for another nurse to check and said 2cm so I was asked to go back and come back when am having stronger contractions. When I got home, I prepared soup, make food, do necessary house cleaning, even made yoghurt that I sell and slept around 2am on Thurs. I went back to d clinic on Thurs morning to get my wallet that I forgot and d nurse insist on checking me and it was 3cm she still asked me to go back and come when d contractions is stronger. I came back, cooked, bath my toddler and wash all dirty plates and pots. I ate and bath too, the contractions is now stronger and 10mins apart, I took hot tea and when after d next contractions, I vomited all d food and slept for 20mins, I was woken up by another strong contraction which is now 3mins apart, while I was contracting, I was shouting a hubby not leave Mr alone. Her was helping to rub my back and I was just holding his legs, raising my bumbum like person wey wan do doggy Style. By 12pm, I told hubby that we should start going that I don't want to born at home. We got to d clinic, I just run like person wey mad man dey pursue, I was checked and 4cm since morning. A bed was prepared for me and d contractions become stronger and was trying to endure but when I cannot I shout. My aunt came and immediately d contraction came, I just hold and bite her shoulder and d nurse just sent her away that I was enduring before she came. Around 1:20, my water broke and I told d nurse but she said it is ok, I called d midwife dt is my friend and she said I should come in and I was checked. I was fully dilated and d nurses started running about to get my things. I was just shouting I want to pee, I want to poo, d matron said let us see it. While they were getting set, I asked if I can push and yes I pushed and baby was out at exactly 1:30pm. Then dis bleeding started as part of d cord or placenta had detached but Glory be to God, everything was perfected, I was cleaned and moved to d ward by 2:10.pm

Thank you. Watermelon calms me for like 10mins only. I just stopped taking folic acid and started pregnacare plus thinking it will help ease d nausea and vomiting. But its the same or worse. I am 10weeks gone. Someone helppppppp

It's not everyone that can stomach the omega oil that comes with pregnacare plus. That's why I got pregnacare original. Try taking only the tablet without the fish oil and see if it helps. See if you can hide the tablet in your Eba cos you need folic acid now.

I am 3 months today.

I had a smooth pregnancy journey, did not fall sick for a second, no vomiting nothing at all but a big stomach.

On the 17th of July was my ante natal. By LMP it was exactly 39weeks and by EDD it was exactly 40 weeks.
So my doctor checked and said I was 3cm dilated already. I told her I will like to end the pregnancy journey cos I was tired of being pregnant. So I was told to go pack my things and come.
6 a.m yesterday morning the tablet was inserted in my vagina. An hour later I started having contractions 5 in. An hour. I used an app to monitor.
At 10 a.m it became every 5mins apart. The doctor and nurses that came around did not believe because they said I did not look. Like someone having contractions
At 10:30 a.m I had 3 contractions in 10 minutes the complaint was now they were not lasting up to an hour. It was averagely 35secs by the doctor cos he timed manually but my app gave me 45secs. Still no pain.
At about 10:54am it became 2secs I felt like pooing so I told my friend with me to call the doctor. She met the same resident doctor that doubted my contraction, he was still on phone and ignored. She called a nurse and immediately they came to my room and saw me holding my legs together they quickly wheeled me to the labour ward, wore me the delivery gown and placed me on the bed.
As soon as they opened my legs they saw the bulge. So they burst my water and I was told to push with the next contraction that was how he peacefully came out.
They named my baby sharp sharp in the hospital.

To God be the glory for a safe delivery. My prince came in 11:04 a. m. yesterday 18th July. 3.6kg vagina delivery no tear.

I felt plenty kicks one day in week 17. One week later I still haven't felt it again. Dunno if I should be worried

The same thing happened to me when I was at that stage. I had to check some authoritative websites and read that it is normal. As you progress, you will get to a stage where the kicks will become more consistent.
But if you are really worried, you can go for scan as advised.

Hello mamas, hope we’re all fine? I finally checked baby’s sex today and it showed. It was so touching, the sonographer showed me in 4d and I was able to see baby well, she couldn’t stay one place, kept moving her body and opening mouth like she’s laughing abi crying, the sonographer said she’s laughing that maybe she knows I’m looking at her(LOL ) I almost cried I really can’t wait to hold my princess, November mamas how are we doing, we’re gradually moving to the permanent site.

I tell you mama. My own that couldn't follow me to ultrasound was forced to be with me when I was having PPROM last year. At that time, it was just the two of us. He witnessed me birth my premature baby and almost fainted
When I was having contractions, you would think he was the one having the pains. He would hold his tommy with one hand and be consoling me with the other hand. Everyone in the hospital ward knew us because of the things he displayed.

My princess made her grand entrance yesterday on her due date via a successful VBAC after 3 and half hours of labour with tear. Baby’s weight was 3.4kg & it was indeed a sharp sharp delivery. Father and son rejoicing. God be praised. Birth story later.

Hi, I'm a first timer and I'm new here, EDD November, I have been reading from page to page and I've learnt a lot, I have a question for the house, is it true that taking citrus fruits like pineapples and oranges is not good during pregnancy?

Welcome teamie. Both fruits are not advised in pregnancy especially if you yet to understand how your body works.
Actually, pineapple helps in dilating the cervix which could lead to miscarriage in early pregnancy. That's why some mothers in their last weeks of pregnancy are encouraged to take it to help in bringing on labour.

For orange, I read that you shouldn't take more than one a day to meet your daily requirement when pregnant. If your prenatal already has it, then there might be no need for it.
Pawpaw is also among the fruits to avoid in early pregnancy.
In conclusion, body differs. My Co wife ate all fruits and she did not have any issues with her pregnancy and delivery. Another person might toe her footstep and get a different result.
As a FTM, you might want to only eat these fruits in little portion.
Do provide us with your EDD so as to be added to the team list.

So, for your DH to be able to make him or her allow him to feel the movement, that could mean that he is already buying him or her over

Amen to ur prayers teamie. I do experience the Same thing, each time i feel his/her her movement and i touch my tummy he will be quick to retreat as if nothing happened. It's a wonderful feeling.

Teamie the feeling is priceless. I just wonder what could be going on there. Wish they could just indulge us to touch them as long as possible because for someone like me, I will not let go

I'm fine sis. Thanks for asking. Do you know that last night, I had this funny feeling of my baby pushing at my tommy with perhaps his hand, bom bom or leg and I rushed to touch him and indeed felt him topically for the first time.
Although he or she was quick to retreat as I touched him.
But it was such a wonderful feeling. I can't remember experiencing such with my last baby.
Believe me, pregnancy is such a wonderful feeling. We all shall meet these wonderful creatures at the right time in Jesus name, amen.

Na waa I didn't take it before I conceived though i took it but not religiously 2 months b4. I started folic acid proper at 6 weeks 4 days, hope it's not a problem? though the scan shows normal spinal cord. but God is in charge.

There's no problem teamie. You did well to have started at 6 weeks. What about those that couldn't hold anything down in their first trimester? And still go on to have healthy babies. This isn't to discourage anyone from taking their folic acid but ultimately, it's all in God's hands.
