Religious folly knows no end. Even if the op were true, so? Really, is the concept of evolution so difficult to understand? This cannot be the result of just indoctrination, I'm tempted to think there's stoopid involved somewhere. http://www.funnychill.com/media/756/Bald_Chimpanzee/ |
Noobs. Slavery is acceptable when it's in the bible, otherwise, no. Same with genocide, rape, infanticide, etc etc |
@rey, my response to the op was; wiegraf: Well, ty for such a brilliant post, I've not laughed that hard in some time. I nearly had an asthma attack even, and I very rarely have those. In the midst of all that laughter was some worrying existentialism though, but I thankfully got over that else I'd have jumped off a cliff over my despair at the state of humanity.Later on, I added this while foo.ling around with you; wiegraf: Thank you, I'm glad you're finally able to reason like one without common sense. So, this question in particular disproves evolution, or does it not? Now, @rey, I wouldn't want you to be dishonest. I mean you're a honest man, that eschews trolling even Reyginus: You know I don't troll. The truth is that you don't even understand what you're asking. Let me dumb down a little to help your understanding. Let me take it to the scientific level. If man came from apes why are there still apes? If the big ba.ng started it all, why is our universe still expanding? If babies are made from matured zygotes, why can we still have zygotes? You say asking this questions amounts to; Reyginus: Truth be told, this is the dumbest question I've heard this year. Wiegraf, so appalling! This is way too dumb. I may decide to dumb down and ask too: if man built houses with sand, gravel and portland, why do we still have all three? So again, like I've demonstrated in my post above, many, many of your fellow religionists often ask that question in particular, and myriad similar ones. When they do, are they; Reyginus: Truth be told, this is the dumbest question I've heard this year. Wiegraf, so appalling! This is way too dumb. I may decide to dumb down and ask too: if man built houses with sand, gravel and portland, why do we still have all three?? Yes or no pls? Edits |
musKeeto: Rey, I think you're missing something.. I'd advise you read again from the first post...People |
Reyginus: Wiegraf, as you may have noticed, when I argue/discuss, the room for digression I don't venture. Why quoting some nairalanders to drive this point?Just answer the question. We'll proceed from there, don't worry... |
ooman: Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, Wiegraf?Hmmm? |
Reyginus: lol. Wiegraf, you need to pick up some brain cells. C'mon! That was an analogy I employed to show you how shallow the question is. For your info, I don't create room for digression. What do you mean? Quit trolling and pussyfooting. Are you saying that particular question requires brain cells? Is it, in your own words, Reyginus: Truth be told, this is the dumbest question I've heard this year. Wiegraf, so appalling! This is way too dumb.? What of these then? From this very thread? seyibrown: 1. why ALL monkeys DID NOT EVOLVE into MENPut this url in your address bar https://www.google.com.ng/search?q=site%3Anairaland.com+++religion+why+monkey+exist+evolution&sa=Search babseg: Abeg nairalanders please help me o. How did the black race evovled is it by evolution or religion? Though the oyinbos make us to accept that Adam and Eve were white even if they were white how did the black race came into being or did we evolve from Monkeys ie APES if so why are the Apes still existing? Abeg please help me o because i dey CONFUSED. OLAADEGBU: Monkey Science LagosShia: Mr. Logic, tobechi74: One topic of Evolution which is extremely controversial, what atheists call the “origin of man”, which suggests that man evolved from monkeys and apes which evolved from fish which evolved from single-celled organisms? Yet still atheists call creationism ridiculous? Also scientists have claimed to have found “bones of human ancestors” which in fact are bones of extinct species of monkeys , also these “ancestors” of human beings have been claimed to have roamed in Africa supposedly in Kenya as a near-monkey or ape like species before “evolving” into Homo Sapiens e.g. Modern Man. But everyone knows that monkeys don’t live in a desert which Kenya were man was supposedly evolved from. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXuFHmwuuvk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Az8k0uzQ6sA&hl=en-GB&gl=NG So, again, are all these your fellow religionists, in your words, asking and being Reyginus: Truth be told, this is the dumbest question I've heard this year. Wiegraf, so appalling! This is way too dumb.?

Reyginus: If man came from apes why are there still apes?Thank you, I'm glad you're finally able to reason like one without common sense. So, this question in particular disproves evolution, or does it not? |
Reyginus: are you alright my friend?Do you have a honest answer to the question, or are you just trolling? *smh* And xtians like to claim intelligence.... Cannot answer a simple question like this, yet claim we're all made from mud... |
musKeeto: They say we choose to disbelieve God because of the moral obligations He places on us...Abi? The foo.lishness displayed at times beggars belief, even after all this time here. Their ability to see only up their own a*****s is astounding. Willful blindness, hypocrisy, happy slavery, happy not to have the responsibility of thinking for themselves, etc etc. Of course, doctrine helps. This thread is a shining pillar of folly. Kayi... And laughably, they love to claim the moral highground. Words can't explain my bewilderment at times... |
Reyginus: Truth be told, this is the dumbest question I've heard this year. Wiegraf, so appalling! This is way too dumb. I may decide to dumb down and ask too: if man built houses with sand, gravel and portland, why do we still have all three?Exactly, therefore man couldn't have built house with sand, gravel and portland. See, it's all lies..Lies spread by the engineers... |
This thread is about islam. You have your own section. So again, what is it doing here? |
Why is there cancer here? |
brainpulse: What are the scientific proof that man’s body came from the dust of the ground, as the Bible says? The human body is made up of materials and minerals found on the surface of the ground, and not from the core of the earth. Oxygen, being the most abundant element on the earth’s crust or on the ground, makes up 65 percent of the human body, and carbon, also abundant on the top soil of the ground, is 18 percent, and hydrogen is 10 percent. The 59 elements found in the human body are all found on the earths crust. This is amazing because what the Bible says perfectly match the scientific composition of a human body.Wtf are you on about? |
seyibrown: Nah! The only reason man has not involved into anything other than man is because man was made man from day one. Same goes for monkeys ... and any other animal species. This amounts to pissing all over the evidence, logic, and ending up with 'because I say so!'. Then pissing all over it again, and again, again, again. It's blatant, willful folly. ![]() |
Alfamann: Ah! So your god is copying humans, eh? Interesting. They will never get this. For instance god, a supposed supreme being, has to bow down to mans desire to own slaves. So rather than condemn it outright and admonish it, he sets out rules governing their use. Racist rules no less. Playing the politician. He however had no problem recommending horrible death and inflicting eternal hell fire on those who wash their cars on sabbath. Another type of slave would like to show up about now and claim god owns you, therefore he does not need to explain himself to you... Their folly knows no limits.... |
valiacademy: Sorry if I annoy you, but when i talk about force i mean the intermolecular forces. Now mentioned energy..... Let me rest my case here since i do not want to annoy anyone. Thank you all for your comments.Hmm, just a few notes. At the risk of coming off as arrogant, I think you've not thought it out properly, and that's normal considering indoctrination. Don't get me wrong, you could get through the programming and still choose to be xtian, but people who've done that usually don't make such basic gaffes. Like you bringing up a bible narrative, or whatever that is, as 'evidence'. It's so wrong on many levels I don't even know where to begin. Ultimately though, supposing it were even historically accurate, you're still presenting an anecdote as 'evidence'? Other basic mistakes like this above, so I'd recommend you do some more thinking before engaging atheists, if you must engage us ie. |
valiacademy: I doubt if we can examine the life of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar (634 – 562 BC) without finding his encounter with God.Brah, you've not thought this out. Drop it. Kudos |
valiacademy: Very interesting. Can there be a pattern without intelligence? There must be patterns with or without. Do you know how big this universe is? Look up fractals and the game of life, see how simple rules can lead to complexity, etc. The only thing you have in your op is stuff exists, therefore god. Who created god then? The ultimate complexity need not be created yet simple energy needs to be created? See how silly that sounds? So, again, stuff exists, that is the only thing anyone knows. The rest is just conjecture, god theories being of the poorer variety. They're an explanation invoked when one doesn't know or is afraid, vain, lazy, gullible or whatever. Through history, 'god did it' has ALWAYS failed, else there wouldn't be atheists, no? There's absolutely no reason to assume it's going to succeed at any time. You can have your faith if you wish, your prerogative, but to try to dress it up as logical is silly. It is, after all, 'faith', the blind sort. |
wirinet: please keep me posted. I would like to have the series in a digital format, i would want to be able to show them to my children when they begin to ask the existential questions. Will do. He shows up on reddit from time to time. Iirc he discusses the show and other things here (including his meeting with sagan) here http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/qccer/i_am_neil_degrasse_tyson_ask_me_anything/ |
musKeeto: Christianity explicitly states to be the ONLY way. I couldn't get around that, especially after my experiences in India..With 'evidence' to back that up...blind faith... At least they try a bit more than muslims, who look you in the eye and claim there's a book of fairy tales that couldn't possibly written by humans................ .................Still processing.........error |
If you're fed $hit all your life, good intentions or no, sold as chocolate, you of course assume $hit is chocolate. As you're fed lies through childhood, when something remotely 'spiritual' happens you then toss out critical thinking. That's what you've been conditioned to do. But there are still those genuinely arrogant enough to dream up a special daddy, builds this grand universe, talking just to them. Their very own bff. This without any conditioning to do so. Tossing out indoctrination aint easy. Intelligence, perseverance, etc. A lot of traits are usually required. You find someone capable of doing that at a young age said person deserves some respect, really. I failed for quite some time... |
musKeeto: On that same thread, I explained that I believe that what Christians refer to as 'an inner voice' is just our thoughts...That is interesting DOG did it Or a thousand other things. Why do the vast majority of us imagine an incredixxxxxx sky daddy is responsible, just for them? Vanity on steroids? Fear? Gullibility? Stoopidity? Or a thousand other things |
davidylan: actually, if you read my post clearly... my point was that none of you is concerned with discrimination against atheists largely because none exists.Ok. So sayeth thou. That's false though, and there are all sorts of other injustices perpetuated by religions that need to be checked, even religions like state communism, etc. It's not about your darling xtianity, not unless it comes knocking at my door. |
davidylan: Considering that we have gone 41 pages + the earlier thread logicboy put up and YET have been unable to come up with coherent proof of discrimination... considering christianity has never been an issue with western or nigerian government policy... i am left to think that the real reason atheists are here is to assuage their own consciences (which they mask as "mocking"Even if all this were true (and it isn't, at all), who says I'm concerned with only discrimination against atheists? Or xtianity only? |
seyibrown: Now, please tell me:Just seeing your edits, ok 1. Same way not all mud became human 2. They evolved into the other great apes, some of them ie. Others extinct. 3. That depends on nature, or natural selection, and the gene mutations. In essence, it's just chance more or else. It makes perfect sense, but like I said, one can choose not to believe it. Questioning the logic though would require better questions than these I would think. |
seyibrown: Me sef laff myself tire at my answer to your 'question' and I am glad you had a laugh out of it!Lol. How does unevolved monkey question remain valid though? For instance, if all species evolved the same way, then there'd be only one species around today. The questions are more or else the same thing, that's why we find question like these silly. Obviously, not all members of a species evolve one way, some go this way and others that way, in all sorts of manners. Most eventually become extinct, others thrive for a bit. Black man and white man, wolves and dogs, small cats and big cats, us and the other apes. One can choose not to believe in it, that's one's prerogative, but to dismiss it with points like the question in my sig is rather silly. Unless I'm missing something, of course. |
davidylan: Why do you want desperately to "save" christians from this "burden"? That has been my question to every atheist here. Cant we just live and let live? You and some of your brahs seem to have some sort of conspiracy thing going on. Really, why? I don't speak others, but my concerns are social issues, mixing religion and government in particular, discrimination etc. Couldn't care less if it were pikkiwokki or jehova. Sometimes though it's just to mock. |
seyibrown: @ wiegraf'sWell, ty for such a brilliant post, I've not laughed that hard in some time. I nearly had an asthma attack even, and I very rarely have those. In the midst of all that laughter was some worrying existentialism though, but I thankfully got over that else I'd have jumped off a cliff over my despair at the state of humanity. Facing the real issue with the question, assuming you genuinely missed it (it happens to the best of us) and are not trolling in some manner or the other, if you're a creationist that asks this question to evolutionists; "if man evolved from monkeys (note: we didn't, but we can ignore that for now), why are there still monkeys?", can you now see how silly the question is? Apply that reasoning to people who insist first cause must be their 'god', why not another god? Or better yet, why not something we can confirm, like simple energy, nature as is? Etc etc Edits |
:O Humanity... |
Iirc, oga degrassi tyson is hosting a reset of the cosmos series. Sagan's widow is involved, she was involved in the first one as well. Etc etc. Something to look forward to |
As @lb retires Ooman will become the Chosen. |
