Politics / Check Out INEC List Of Governorship Candidates In Enugu by Wiki9ja: 2:32pm On Nov 10, 2018
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday released names of governorship candidates in Enugu State.

On the list were the top contender, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ayogu Eze of All Progressives Congress (APC).

It also contained 37 others party candidates.

The list was displayed at the INEC Headquarters in Enugu on Friday in line with the guidelines for the 2019 general elections.

Others whose names appeared on the list include Ekene Uzodimma of United Progressives Party (UPP), Peter Aniagbaso of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Cajethan Eze of Action Democratic Party (ADC) and Emmanuel Nwankpa of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The names of candidates for the State House of Assembly elections were also displayed alongside the governorship candidates.

According to the timetable for the polls, political parties were expected to commence their campaigns on November 18.

Dr Emeka Ononamadu, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Enugu State while briefing journalists earlier in the week, said the commission has so far not been found wanting in keeping to the guidelines and timetable for the polls.

Ononamadu assured that with the support of the people, INEC would deliver free, fair and credible elections next year in Enugu State.

Politics / WAEC Certificate: Keyamo Reveals Opposition’s Plan Against Buhari by Wiki9ja: 7:38am On Nov 05, 2018
The Director of Strategic Communications of Buhari Campaign Organisation, Festus Keyamo on Sunday said the opposition was trying to nail President Muhammadu Buhari.

He stated that plans were in motion outside the country to scrutinize the president’s West African Examinations Council (WAEC) certificate.

Buhari on Friday, in Abuja received the attestation and confirmation of his 1961 West African School Certificate (WASC) Examination.

The documents were presented to him at State House during a courtesy visit by a delegation of WAEC led by its Registrar, Dr Iyi Uwadiae, accompanied by Olutise Adenipekun, Head, National Office, Abiodun Aduloju, Head Public Affairs, and Olufemi Oke, Zonal Coordinator, Abuja.

On Twitter, Keyamo lambasted those insisting that the certificate was forged, adding that Buhari’s opponents were holding meetings on next action.

“The dumbest comments I’ve read about d now dead issue of PMB’s WAEC result is to say WAEC forged its own document”, he wrote.

“Where there’s ONLY ONE body authorized by law to issue a document, it can only make mistakes or clerical errors on it (I don’t concede that here) but cannot forge it.

“On a lighter note, we understand the opposition is now hunting for the examiners who marked PMB’s scripts in 1961 to ascertain whether the grades in PMB’s WAEC result tallies with the marks they actually gave him.

“They’re flying in some US investigators to Dubai for consultation,” he stated.

Politics / Ganduje: Pressure Mounts On Buhari by Wiki9ja: 12:25pm On Nov 04, 2018
Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), has sent an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, urging him to direct the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, to order anti-corruption agencies to investigate allegations of bribery against Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State.

Ganduje had on Friday denied collecting any form of bribe from contractors.

But, the organization said if there were relevant and sufficient admissible evidences, Ganduje should face prosecution at the expiration of his tenure as governor.

The letter signed by SERAP Senior Legal Adviser, Ms Bamisope Adeyanju, noted: “Given the history of corruption in Nigeria, especially unresolved allegations of grand corruption against many state governors, your government cannot and should not look the other way regarding the allegations against Mr. Ganduje. Any allegations of bribery and abuse of power in any state of Nigeria is of concern to every Nigerian, and should therefore, be of concern to your government.

“The obligations of your government to combat corruption in Nigeria extend to all the three tiers of government, namely, the federal government, state government and local government. Although primarily a matter of concern for Kano State, the allegations of bribery against Mr Ganduje have assumed such a proportion as to become a matter of concern to the federation as a whole, and therefore, to your government.

“Taking the recommended steps would help to enhance your government’s fight against corruption and contribute hugely to promoting the public interest, the interest of justice as well as prevent any abuse of the legal process. Any failure and/or refusal to act would undermine the goal of your government’s anti-corruption fight and tacitly serve to encourage persistent allegations of corruption among many state governors to continue with almost absolute impunity.

“SERAP is concerned that growing allegations of corruption including bribery against many state governors have not been investigated and that several of the governors involved are getting away with their alleged crimes.

“We note that while a governor may enjoy immunity from arrest and prosecution, he does not enjoy immunity from investigation. Any criminal allegation against a sitting governor including Mr. Ganduje can and should be investigated pending the time the governor leaves office and loses immunity. The findings of such investigation can also be the basis for initiating impeachment proceedings against the governor.”

Celebrities / The Next Time You Want To Watch Big Brother Naija Ask Yourself Questions by Wiki9ja: 7:45am On Nov 01, 2018
I know it is Over but a new Version might show up so before rushing to watch it ask yourself a few questions.

...Ask today’s Christians what they think of HOMOSEXUALIZM, and they will condemn it without apology.

...Ask them what they think of FORNICATION, and on ADULATORY, and they will speak of it with hate.

...Ask their views on LESBIANISM, on and MASTURBATION, and PROSTITUTION, and SEXUAL IMMORALITY, and they will cast these things aside intensely with contempt. But don’t just stop there if you really want to know the true state of the heart of that Christian.

...Ask a Christian what he or she thinks of the “BIG BROTHER SHOW”, and it wouldn’t be long before you realize that you are standing in front of another . . . .. . . Christian (fill in the gap).

Now, to what purpose is lifting up holy hands to God in church, if we’ll quickly rush back home to excite our self by watching a raw display of sexual immorality on television?

To what purpose is condemning lesbianism and prostitution? If we encourage those who go on national television to dance naked for a few pieces of silver and a handful of fame.

To what purpose is donating luxurious cars, and millions of cash to winners of these sexual immorality shows?

...While we have to crawl on our knees and beg those same sponsors to donate tokens to our Orphanage homes, school debate, quiz, and essay competitions; rotary clubs, laboratories, and libraries and the poor.

Of what use is rating BIG BROTHER SHOW for ages over 21? When our children can still download clips of those sex scenes freely on YOUTUBE and the internet. To what purpose!!

Oh! Christians Arise!!!

The next time you watch BIG BROTHER and you start defending the producers of the program, always remember; Proverbs 14:12 – “there is a way that seems right to man, but its end is the way of eternal destruction”

The next time you watch BIG BROTHER and you are also excited about it to the point that you send tweets on it to your friends in case they missed it, always remember; 2 Timothy 2:22 – “FLEE youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. . .”

The next time you watch BIG BROTHER and you feel it has no effects on your relationship with God, always remember; Mark 7:20-23 – “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality . . . . . .”

And in case you might not also know, “THE ONLY WAY OUT, IS IN”. It is what you feed your mind, it produces.

The next time you watch BIG BROTHER and believe that you can still keep your ways pure with God, always remember; Psalm 119:9-11 – “how can a young man keep his way pure? By GUARDING it according to HIS words, by seeking HIM with his whole heart, and by wandering not away from his commandments.”

THIS IS THE TRUTH: HARDEN NOT YOUR HEART!

Please share this article and reach out to many if you can!

CHRISTIANS ARISE!!!

Politics / May I Not Be Buried In Ukana, If Emmanuel Defeats Ekere - Akpabio by Wiki9ja: 4:26pm On Oct 30, 2018
The attention of the former Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, has been drawn to a news item on the social media, written and circulated by media agents of the Akwa Ibom State government.

Purporting that the former governor had vowed that, should the incumbent governor, Udom Emmanuel, defeat the APC governorship candidate, Obong Nsima Ekere, at the poll, "his remains should not be buried in his country home, Ukana".

The sponsors and purveyors of such statement know within them that such frivolous and unfounded statement Is not and can never be a creation of the Senator, as it existed only in their warped imaginations.

The former governor will never utter such gutterish statement, in the face of an imminent electoral defeat of the ruling party in the state, as would be widely demonstrated by the electorate in February, 2019.

It is, therefore, silly, nonsensical and the height of political irresponsibility on the part of any sane person to ascribe such uncouth, misplaced and non-existent statement to Senator Akpabio.

Those who allowed themselves to be used for such infantile job for a mere meal ticket, may have, unknown to them and their paymasters, succeeded in bringing to the public glare, the desperation and fear of the ruling party of its anticipated defeat at the poll, come 2019.

Members of the public and the teeming supporters of Senator Akpabio and the APC in the state, are by this release, advised, to disregard such statement, because it is an attempt by the PDP and its imbecilic juvenile media characters to smear the records and achievements of the distinguished senator with statements that are not his, inorder to achieve an unmeritted and cheap political favour.

Crime / Let’s Talk!! What Do Most People Really Gain From Being A Cultist? by Wiki9ja: 12:10pm On Oct 30, 2018
Am sincerely not writing this to downgrade or castigate anyone, am just curious to know the reason(s) why some people choose to be a cultist.

Over the years, Cultism has been the greatest problem in most Nigerian higher institutions with many students boasting of belonging to a secret cult to scare lecturers and form big boy on campus.

Fast forward to now, the numbers of Cultists in higher institutions has reduced immensely (someone said Yahoo Yahoo played a great role in this development).

Everyone’s attention has shifted to chasing Money and having a better life while in school instead of wasting their time & life as a cultist.

Well, with the great things & achievements many young guys are unlocking these days, it baffles me when I hear some guys still belong to a cult group. The funniest thing is that new ones are still being initiated daily.

Well sha, I think Thugs, Illiterates and Riff raffs are the ones who choose to be a Cultist in this time and era.. I lie?

I have a question and I want a candid and sincere response from you all.

Here is my question

What Do People Really Gain From Being A Cultist?
Let’s hear from you all.

Politics / Parents Of Dapchi Schoolgirls Raise Alarm Over Govt Negligence Of Girls by Wiki9ja: 12:04pm On Oct 30, 2018
Some parents of returned Dapchi school girls, earlier abducted by Boko Haram terrorists, have accused the leadership of their parents’ association of turning their daughters’ misfortune into a profit-making venture.

The parents made this accusation in a telephone interview with WIKI 9JA correspondent, where they also alleged that the leadership of the association are being selective in the distribution of relief materials whenever such come their way.

Usman Saleh Gashua, who is the father of Maryam Usman, one of the returned girls, said, “We heard that recently, the Presidential Committee for the Northeast Initiative (PCNI) has given the parents’ association food and non-food items for onward distribution to us but I didn’t receive anything till the present day.

“When I contacted the chairman of the association about our own share. He said the materials were meant for the parents of the girls residing in Dapchi town only”.

The father of the 22-years-old JSS 1 student disclosed that he deliberately refused to re-enroll his daughter to the school after their return because of the fear of some unscrupolous individuals who are opportunistic to use his daughter in order to enrich themselves.

“I was approached to return my daughter back to the school, but I refused. Because some are using them for their personal gains,” he claimed.

“Even when Yobe-Turkish College had announced that all the girls should come for scholarship examination, but nobody called me inform me about the development, only to learn that the exam was conducted,” he added.

Another parent, Nasiru Ibrahim from Girim village and father of Rabi Nasiru also made similar allegation, stating that he has benefited once from the PCNI’s gesture where he was given some relief materials.

“I was given three measures of rice, two measures of millet, five bottles of cooking oil and a small bag of corn flour. That is what came to me and I have to accept it.”

He described those who are using the parents’ association to make money as mindless persons whose actions are for selfish interest.

“When our daughters were returned, I expect the federal government to take charge of their welfare for a time being, because as I can tell you my daughter’s behaviour has charged. She needs psychosocial support,” he pointed out.

Ibrahim further said he was compelled to return Rabi to GGSTC Dapchi because her manners have change so that she might get support there.

Responding to the allegations, chairman of the association of parents of Dapchi schoolgirls, Bashir Manzo denied any knowledge of misconduct by members of the association.

“I will be interested if an investigation will unmask those behind the said wrongdoings by the some parents of the girls”.

On Yobe-Turkish college scholarship, Manzo said it was the management of the college that conducted the examination.

“It was the official from the Turkish college that came to GGSTC Dapchi that conducted the exam where selected only 20 successfull, excluding my own daughter,” he said.

He challenged the aggrieved members of the association to prove their claims.

Politics / Don’t Expect Change In Rivers State Unless APC Wins – Amaechi by Wiki9ja: 6:55pm On Oct 27, 2018
The Minster for Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, has told his supporters and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State not to expect any change in the state unless his party is returned to power in 2019.

Amaechi, a former Governor of Rivers State, said his supporters will not make benefits from the party unless the APC came out victorious in the 2019 general elections.

He urged them to mobilise and register more voters for the APC to ensure victory for the party in the 2019 general elections.

Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation, said this on Saturday, during a ward-to-ward sensitisation visit tagged ‘Operation show your PVC’, to communities in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state.

The Minister said the only way to benefit from government was to elect good leaders.

He Said, “You people need to work hard because, if we don’t win you, will not get any benefit. The day we win, is the day we should expect change in Rivers State.

“When we win, we will focus more on bettering the lots of our people because I believe that things should change.

“The only way to effect that change is to go to your various units and wards and commence new registration of members and I expect the new members to have their voters’ cards; that is the tool you will use to remove bad leaders,” he said.
