A father of three believed to be in his late thirties has committed suicide by hanging, at his residence in NEPA Line, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The dangling body of the deceased was found in his room when his colleagues came to his house to find out why he has not reported to the office after some days.

According to a source, who pleaded anonymity, the deceased just returned to Uyo on Wednesday from his village in Rivers State where his family resides.

It was gathered that the deceased, whose name could not be ascertained as at press time parked into the compound few months ago.

Another source who described the deceased as a gentleman, said he could not have believed that the man could take his own life.

He maintained that the wife of the deceased, who is also pregnant when informed of the incident, said that the husband called her early hours of Thursday and begged her and the children to forgive him.

He added that the wife said she had no inkling that the husband would go to the extent of killing himself.

However, when the Police Public Relation Officer DSP MacDon Odiko, was contacted, he said he would not comment on the issue since the matter has not been reported to his office.

At the Nigerian Tribune in 2013, I was told to do a story on Nigeria’s top Female bloggers. When I compiled the list, Stella declined to be featured if Linda was on it. Next I was Linda’s victim. The 2013 gun story where she diminished my brand. I dropped the Tribune story and instead I wrote a story on how Nigerian bloggers have generally failed because of copying and syndicating each other. Linda also made fun of Stella’s oyinbo babies saying she slept with oil expats and didn’t know the father of her kids when she actually married one a day had kids with him before they moved to Germany. I watched all this play out from 2006-2013. The solution now is Linda, keep your interns trained on photo credits and sourcing info. Someone will take down your blog permanently like what happened to Twitter. We are web logging and logging the web is not all copy and paste. #WEBLOGGING without the we is what is termed blogging. Kgomotso Christopher who was spotted in a video recording the popular “you have insufficient funds please recharge“ among other services offered by MTN, is said to be an educated actress who graduated from Columbia University in New York, USA.

While many network subscribers had unconsciously linked the voice to a white woman, Kgomotso Christopher who took to her twitter account to confirm the revelation revealed she’s been in the business for over six years. She wrote; Yep. I am glad you remember what I’ve always said. Remember I said for long voicework was my main income stream because I had no fulltime acting work…in fact it was this consistent MTN work I was referring to. I am sure some of them are. A Facebook user identified as Michael Amos, has taken to the social media platform to share some photos of a senior lawyer who was spotted in court looking absolutely tattered in his robe.

The eyewitness who shared the photos of the lawyer online, revealed that it wouldn't be the first time the lawyer will arrive in court dressed in a tattered wig and robe.

He posted the photos and wrote: "This is what a very Senior Lawyer wore to court. Heard Today was not the first day.

I am bothered as to why a senior lawyer will be comfortable wearing a raggy wig and gown to court. This beats me.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has revealed how the party succeeded in its plans to sack Governor Nyesom Wike from the Brick House in 2019.



According to Eze, a former Spokesperson of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party, nPDP, the success of the recently held ‘Operation Show Your PVC’ in the state was the final solution to the bad governance allegedly imposed on the state by Wike and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The operation, coordinated by the leader of the APC in the South-South and Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, was organised to ascertain the readiness of the members of the party in the state and mobilise them ahead of the general elections next year.



In a statement he issued to DAILY POST on Tuesday, Eze, commended Amaechi who is also the Director-General/ Secretary of the Buhari Campaign Organisation, describing him as a dangerous political strategist, who despite his godly disposition, knows how to take the winning step at all times.

Eze’s statement added, “This ‘Operation Show Your PVC’, which is an exercise targeted at meeting and knowing supporters of the Rivers APC with valid PVCs in the various wards of the state, has once again positioned the former Governor of Rivers state, current Minister of Transportation and the Director-General/Secretary of Buhari Campaign Organization, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, as a deadly political strategist, who has come to terms with the fact that to dislodge a slippery politician like Governor Nyesom Wike, there’s need of ensuring that over two million members of APC in Rivers dtate have their valid PVC.



“The era of PDP using militants and other untoward methods to rig elections has come an end. Definitely not in 2019.

“I’m of utmost hope that if the large number of people that have turned up so far to identify with this exercise will keep faith as faithful members of the party, coupled with the maturity so far exhibited by Pastor Tonye Cole, the flag-bearer of APC, in his choice of words and commitment towards rekindling hope among the demoralized people of Rivers state, then Governor Wike has no chance of winning anything more than three local government areas of the State, that is if he is not disqualified due to his multiple dates of birth”, he said.

Eze stated further that the exercise had revealed the true feelings of the people of the state towards the party and its leader, Amaechi.

Eze also expressed faith in the leadership of Hon. Chidi Lloyd, former Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly and the current DG of Tonye Cole Campaign Organization to lead the party to glory come 2019, and urged all and sundry to line behind Tonye Cole so that collectively they can rescue Rivers State from its present ”pitiable and sorrow state.”

Two hundred and twenty-seven less-privileged people and orphans have received free one-month computer training for self reliance organised by a group of corps members serving in Yobe State.




During the graduation ceremony of the beneficiaries, head of the group, Dahiru Abdu said aim for the training was to build and improve the capacity of the vulnerable group on Information Communication Technologies (ICT) for societal development.

“The training is also in a bid to challenge the youth to become active citizens in performing their social responsibilities in Yobe state alongside the bid to make them ICT conscious and economically independent,” he stated.

According to the group leader, they are dedicated to finding solutions to critical societal problems by contributing to the work of ICT vocational entrepreneurship and community development.

The beneficiaries were taught computer appreciation, data processing and information technology, English Language proficiency as well as JAMB computer-based test training.

“During the training, we have encountered so many problems in the process of delivering our development training and these problems range from lack of good generating sets, inadequate computers, electric regulators, projectors among others,” Abdu disclosed.

The best graduating student, Fatima Umar Gaidam, was awarded a free scholarship to study in any university of her choice, courtesy of the former Yobe State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Saleh Aliyu Bagare.

Meanwhile, 24 computer sets, one power generating set plus the sum of N200,000 were donated to the group by guests who graced the occasion.

Stan Lee, creator of some of the most enduring characters and stories from Marvel Comics, has died at the age of 95.

The news is confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, following up on earlier confirmation, via Lee’s daughter, from TMZ. The earlier report indicated that an ambulance was dispatched to his home in California’s Hollywood Hills on Monday morning. Lee later died at the nearby Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Lee got started in comics in 1939, when he joined Timely Comics as an office assistant. The publisher, founded by Lee’s cousin-in-law Martin Goodman, would eventually transform into Marvel Comics in 1961.

Lee recognized that his heroes were still human, capable of all the same flaws and fears as anyone else.

Lee’s work as an editor started 20 years earlier, when he stepped in as Timely’s interim editor in 1941. But the work he’s best known for happened in the ’60s, when he came up with early Marvel Comics heroes like the Fantastic Four. Comics had traditionally been meant for a younger audience, but Lee saw potential in telling stories for an older crowd.

It was during this period that Lee started his work with Jack Kirby, who had co-created Captain America two decades earlier. Then a freelance artist, Kirby worked with Lee to create what would become some of Marvel’s most enduring characters: Fantastic Four, yes, but also the Hulk, the X-Men, and — especially — Spider-Man.

It wasn’t just that Lee created these characters; his work also upended expectations within the comic book industry. Lee, and through him Marvel, recognized that superheroes were still fundamentally human, capable of all the same flaws and fears as anyone else. It’s a mindset that led to more human stories, but also one that unavoidably flirted with the political climate as well.

As many have come to recognize in a post-Civil Rights world, the X-Men were an allegory for the racial tensions and widespread discrimination at the time. Lee’s mutants were a minority group, subjected to the same prejudices that were dominating headlines as real-life racist ideologies were being singled out and shut down.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has given reason it gave up the plan to impeach the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, following their defection.



The APC, speaking through its National Auditor, Dr. George Moghalu, told Daily Sun that the rigid stipulations for the impeachment of the principal officers have compelled the ruling party to shelve the idea.

Moghalu pointed out that though the party desires to impeach Dogara and Saraki, the prevailing circumstance made it impossible.

Recall that the national leadership of the party had on different occasions, vowed to impeach the Senate President and the House of Representatives’ Speaker after their defection to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Asked if the ruling party has given up on the move, Moghalu said, “The situation is not about given up, the present reality is that as a law-abiding party, one thing is the wish, while another is the act itself.

“We wish to have the leadership of the two chambers as a party, but the point is that the reality on ground will not make it achievable.

“Considering the prevailing reality, the possibility of changing the leadership of the two chambers is not there, because we need the required number to so.

“Don’t forget that we are in a constitutional democracy. We may be left with no other option than to live with the current situation because we don’t have another choice.

“However, my simple appeal is that the common denominator is the unity of Nigeria.

“We must all be accountable to the country. We have to place Nigeria first in whatever we do, whether we are in the opposition or ruling parties.”

The Nigerian Army has redeployed some of its officers from Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Operation DELTA SAFE, as well as over-stayed officers from the theatre as part of routine posting.

Also, a Deputy Vice Chancellor is appointed for the newly established Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB).

Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, Director Army Public Relations, in a statement on Saturday said the posting affected 103 officers including Majors and Captains.

Others were; Major General Victor Ezugwu from Depot Nigerian Army to Nigerian Army Vehicle Manufacturing Company as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO), Major General Adeyemi Adetayo from Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) to Department of Army Standard and Evaluation as Director Procurement and Projects and Brigadier General Ifiok Obot redeployed from Headquarters Operation DELTA SAFE to Nigerian Army University Biu as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Military).
