The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has provided uniforms, bags and sandals to primary school pupils in seven local government areas affected by insurgency in Adamawa. The Director, Social Mobilization, Adamawa State Universal Education Board, Hajiya Fadimatu Alfa, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Yola. Alfa said the gesture was part of support from the fund to enhance school enrolment particularly that of the girl-child in the affected areas. Alfa said over 8,000 girls in over 40 selected primary schools would receive the items. “There was an earlier supply of uniforms to over 4,000 pupils in all girls schools in the state who are not part of the latest supply,” Alfa said. She said those to benefit from the latest supply were pupils in nursery and those in primary one to three. The director said that UNICEF also provided desks for the schools alongside the rehabilitation of some classrooms. “The interventions by UNICEF, was done through School-Based Management Committees of the affected schools who are provided with funds to do the job,” Alfa said. She lauded UNICEF for its support to education and other programmes in the state, and reiterated the commitment of the board to collaborate with the fund to achieve maximum result. YouTube is the biggest repository of videos on the Internet, and sometimes it can get a little overwhelming. Sure, having over one-billion videos to choose from is a luxury people in the 90s would’ve dreamt of, but the excesses of “Recommended” videos, clickbait, and other junk that you don’t care to see can make it tiring. Thankfully, there are alternatives. The dominance of the YouTube-Google machine has meant that a lot of alternatives have now gone out of business, but a few sites continue to thrive. Here are our picks. Related: How to Block YouTube Video Channels 1. Metacafe – For Quick Clips At Source http://wepublicisenaija.com/6-youtube-alternatives-for-something-a-little-different |
The case of Mr Eazi can be compared to that of someone who has fallen from grace to grass. Few years back, 2016 to be precise, there was this new exciting and hat wearing new rave . Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade popularly known as Mr Eazi who was the toast of the Nigerian Music industry that even all the big stars wanted him on their songs and his songs like Anointing, Hollup, Sample you etc were on heavy rotation in clubs, parties and even on Naijaloaded. Fast forward to late 2017, the whole hype about Mr Eazi seems to have died down, we will be reviewing how this wonderful 2016 Headies next rated award winner went from being next rated to being someone who is struggling to gain relevancy. I guess these where the things that affected him: PRIDE: The popular saying pride goes before a fall is something that we can all see in Mr Eazi’s life as he has gone on twitter more than once to claim that he brought the Ghanaian vibe to Nigeria. This didn’t go down well with many Nigerians as some artists have called him out and many Nigerians have since taken to different social media platform to troll him. This is something upcoming artists can learn from INCONSISTENCY: Yes, inconsistency, some people might disagree with me on this but after Mr Eazi dropped his “Accra to Lagos” mix tape we didn’t get any music from this dude till October/November. For an artist as big as Mr Eazi and for someone who has failed to tie down a spot in the Nigerian industry ever since he became disliked by some Nigerians, some good music might have helped turn tables for him. DRESS SENSE: I think everyone will agree with me on this one as it is something which he has been criticised with back to back and his fans and followers are quick to call him out any time he posts some pictures. LACK OF GOOD PR MANAGEMENT: Mr Eazi problems started as a result of some tweets and his comments on shows and interviews. Now let us assume the singer had experts who were handling his social media accounts and also gave him interviews dos and Don’ts i don’t think he would be facing so much difficulties and backlash like he is facing. TX news had earlier reported the incident involving a member of Davido’s crew and official at the Muritala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos. The name of the member of Davido’s team was given as Umarudeen Kayode. The latest report has it that the police arraigned the 22-year-old Umarudeen Kayode on a 5 count charge at the Ikeja Magistrate court, before Mrs. E. Kubanje. He was granted bail conditions to the tune of N50, 000 and two sureties in like sum. The sureties must have variable addresses within the jurisdiction of the court. However, as at 4 pm on Friday when SaharaReporters was in the premises of the magistrate court, the bail conditions had not been perfected. The magistrate had also left the court as Mr. Umarudeen’s relatives were trying to perfect the bail conditions. SaharaReporters saw him being conveyed with the prison van out of the court premises a few minutes after 4 pm. Mr. Umarudeen was charged for assault, breach of public peace and for resisting arrest. The first charge accused him of obstructing and resisting a public officer, an offence contrary to section 117(1) and punishable under the same section of the Criminal Law of Lagos State. “That you, Umarudeen Kayode ‘M’, on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned magisterial district did unlawfully assault a public officer causing him harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011” reads count 2. Count three says; “That you, Umarudeen Kayode ‘M’ on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned magisterial district did unlawfully assault a public officer with the intent to resist and prevent your lawful arrest and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 172 (a) and punishable under 172(f) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011”. Kayode Umarudeen was arrested yesterday by airport security officials and handed over to the Nigerian police for investigation and prosecution. Kayode Umarudeen is said to have caused chaos when a checkpoint staff at the airport attempted to verify some of the checked luggage with the attached tags, but, rather than allow the staff to carry out his official duty; he insisted that he would not allow him to verify the luggage, which after much arguments and insistence, led to a fight. Kayode reportedly punched the checkpoint staff on the face, which attracted other security officials at the terminal who immediately attempted to arrest him. Rather than obey, he resisted arrest and pummeled another airport security staff attached to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria at the baggage claim area, an Assistant Customs Comptroller was also injured. My name is Ofonime ime I come from shithole country and if African leaders are really angry about Donald Trump statement then fine, They should brazen up and be quicker to the thought than to the punch and make things right and stop trying to always be politically correct all the time for indeed Africa is a shithole country most especially the senior man country among them. Nothing is working here anymore. Am tired of being told by our elders how they use to eat food with one full chicken for 5naira at the cafeteria as students cos this days we only eat chicken on Christmas and most students eating full chicken end up doing it by topping their fees or using the fees... Lol I dey my hole somewhere oo but honestly something is wrong that seriously needs fixing

The Controller General of Nigeria Prisons Service Mr Jaffaru Ahmed has disclosed that 28 inmates of Ikot Ekpene Prisons that escaped during jailbreak on Dec. 27, 2017, were still at large. Ahmed disclosed this to newsmen after an inspection of facilities in Ikot Ekpene Prisons on Friday. The controller general, who described the facilities in Ikot Ekpene Prisons as well fortified, attributed the jailbreak to lapses on the part of prison staff. “About 40 inmates found their way out of Ikot Ekpene Prisons in a broad daylight around 11.45am. “They took on the lapses that they saw, perhaps they have been planning it for a very long time and actualised it on December 27, 2017 when they saw the opportunity. “The 28 that are at large are very hardened criminals; some of them are kidnappers awaiting trials, some are facing capital offences and therefore it is something to worry about,” Ahmed said. He lamented that those still at large were supposed to be in custody to allow the other members of the society to live in peace. He assured Akwa Ibom people and the entire nation that the fleeing inmates would soon be recaptured to face their trials. He added that any staff found wanting would have to face the full wrath of the law. The controller general debunked insinuations from some quarters that the jailbreak was due to infringement on the fundamental rights of the inmates. http://wepublicisenaija.com/akwa-ibom-jailbreak-28-inmates-still-large-prison-boss
