clap for urself, you have carefully evaded the question by pointing to others, wen I posted a link, u could not go but wen you posted a link, u expect me to go..I went to that link and it does not explain anythn except bribery and apostasy...And for your information, that is the law of moses....I explained the sword to you, even though you were making the sword look as if it is real, but u can't explain these "peaceful sharia actions"....please leave those who are following the true violent laws of sharia as allah hàs commanded, anð stop trying to defend anything...it is you that is against islam by neglecting allah's will and commandments....I have more serious questions that you or any muslim can never answer, but you have failed some of the easiest and so I won't bother to move on....please the next time your brother steals from the pot, cut off his hands as allah's has commanded as a sign of peace, love and forgiveness.

tola9ja: wahalai i have not read anytin cos i no it will be fabrication come and paste it here and let me explain it to you
okay, I'm happy to find a cool headed muslim that is reàdy to explain things rathe® than running away or pointing to others....I have loads to ask...the first is about sharia law and wen you explain to me, we can then móve to others. The list below consists of some
islamic legal decrees,policies and practices(sharia
is allah's will),However, these practices contradict
these mere verbal assertions and mental beliefs.
Every one of them comes from the Quran itself,
followed by chapter and verse. This list is all about
physical acts and practical policies here on earth,
not about abstract doctrines. These policies and
legal decrees can be measured and evaluated with
our own eyes and sound reason, and how do they come out? Not very good, to say the least.

1. The hands of male or female thieves should be
cut off (5:38). 2. The hands and feet must be cut
off for fighting and corrupting the land (5:33). 3.
A highway robber may be crucified (5:33). 4. An
injured plaintiff may exact legal revenge—physical
eye for physical eye, literally (5:45). 5. Anyone
who accuses someone else of sexual sins must
bring four witnesses; if not, the accuser gets
eighty lashes (24:4). 6. Husbands are a degree
above their wives in status (2:228); reliable
hadiths say the majority of the inhabitants of hell
are women only because of their "harshness and
ingratitude," not for any numerical majority
around the globe. 7. A male gets a double share of
the inheritance over that of a female (4:11). 8. A
woman’s testimony counts half of a man’s
testimony because she may "forget" (2:282).
Reliable hadiths say this law is based on the
"deficiency of a woman’s mind." 9. A man may
divorce his wife merely if he says "I divorce you"
three times (2:229). This verse is baffling because
it does not say explicitly "three times." But Islamic
law interprets it in this way. 10. A wife may
remarry her ex-husband if and only if she marries
another man, they have sex, and then this second
man divorces her (2:230). 11. Husbands may hit
their wife or wives (4:34). 12. Mature Muslim men
may marry and consummate their marriage with
prepubescent girls (65:4). 13. Slavery is endorsed:
Muhammad himself traded in slaves and owned
black slaves; and Muslim men may have sex with
slave-girls (47:4; 4:24; 23:5-6; 70-29-30). 14. The
Quran endorses the massacre of Jewish men and
pubescent boys and the enslavement of the women
and children (33:25-27).
Explain this cruelty and violent acts in a relígion of peace and love, and explain why moderate muslims have chosen to neglect these laws when they know that sharia is allahs will..and they only choose to practise the ones they want and leave the rest to terrorists,,,,when we finish here, ill go to my next question,

Matthew 10:34-35King James Version (KJV)

34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
(5). In matthew 10;34-36, Bros, U
and your friends dont quote the context in full,
so that people will see this sword as a violent
"sword".in Matthew 10:34 : 32 "Whoever
acknowledges me before men, I will also
acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33
But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown
him before my Father in heaven. 34 Do not
suppose that I have come to bring peace to the
earth, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn a
man against his father, a daughter against her
mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-
law—36 a man’s enemies will be the members of
his own household [Micah 7:6] 37 Anyone who
loves his father or mother more than me is not
worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or
daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and
anyone who does not take up his cross and follow
me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life
will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake
will find it." The one key element in this lengthy
passage is the word "sword," and its meaning is
now clear. It indicates that following Jesus in his
original Jewish society may not bring peace to a
family, but may "split" it up, the precise function
of a metaphorical sword. Are his disciples ready
for that? This kind of spiritual sword invisibly
severs a man from his father, and daughter from
her mother, and so on (Micah 7:6). Given Jesus’
own family resistance early on (they later came
around), it is only natural he would say that no
matter what the cost, one must follow him to the
end, even if it means giving up one’s family. But
this applies only if the family rejects the new
convert, not if the family accepts him in his new
faith; he must not reject them, because the whole
point of Jesus’ advent is to win as many people to
his side as possible, even if this divides the world
in two, but never violently.

(6). About Luke 22:36...Up until this point, the
disciples had operated under the aegis of both
Roman and Jewish law. They were seen as just
another group of disciples of some charismatic
Rabbi. If he had some strange ideas he was
teaching, well, so did plenty of others. But now,
all that was about to change. He was going to be
taken by the Jews, tried and convicted and put to
death by the Romans. Suddenly their Master's
public status was about to go from "eccentric
Rabbi" to "criminal condemned for stirring up
trouble with the Romans," which would turn those
who supported him into fugitives, at least
temporarily. Here, he was trying to explain to
them that they would need to be prepared to stay
mobile (side note: the word fugitive comes from a
Latin root meaning "to flee"wink: they would need to
always have a purse (for money) and a bag (to
carry basic supplies) ready, and that a sword (for
protection against other men) was to be more
important to them than a cloak (for protection
against the elements) in the days to come. But as
we see repeatedly throughout the Gospels, the
disciples never really "got" the whole "Jesus is
going to die and then be resurrected" thing until
after it was all accomplished. Here, they hear him
talking about swords, and someone says "yeah,
we've got a couple here already." They just don't
understand what he's trying to explain, and you
can almost hear the Master's resigned sigh. "Sure,
that'll be fine.".... Long and short is that, this
"SWORD" word used by Jesus was never a violent
sword. It was an abstract sword.. Hebrew 4:12
says "for the word of God is quick and powerful
and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing
even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and
of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the
thoughts and intents of the heart. Here are many
verses from which it is clear that Jesus mission
and message was peace, and was to be spread
peacefully only. His commands are in no way
ambiguous: Matthew 26: 52 "Put your sword back
in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw
the sword will die by the sword.". Luke 9: 51 As
the time approached for him to be taken up to
heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem. 52
And he sent messengers on ahead, who went into a
Samaritan village to get things ready for him; 53
but the people there did not welcome him,
because he was heading for Jerusalem. 54 When
the disciples James and John saw this, they asked,
"Lord, do you want us to call fire down from
heaven to destroy them?". 55 But Jesus turned and
rebuked them, 56 and they went to another
village. [Shortly thereafter, he sends out a larger
group of disciples to preach the gospel, and gives
among others, these instructions.]. Luke 10: 1
After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others
and sent them two by two ahead of him to every
town and place where he was about to go. 2 He
told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the
workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest,
therefore, to send out workers into his harvest
field. 3 Go! I am sending you out like lambs among
wolves.". 5 "When you enter a house, first say,
`Peace to this house.'. 6 If a man of peace is
there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will
return to you.". 10 But when you enter a town and
are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, 11
`Even the dust of your town that sticks to our feet
we wipe off against you. Yet be sure of this: The
kingdom of God is near.'. EVEN WHEN THE REAL
SWORD CAME INTO THE PICTURE, Jesus
condemned it, he did not even allow it for self
defence( as ALMIGHTY GOD is our defence). When
on of the disciples used a sword, Jesus rebuked
him for doing so. A rebuke is recorded in three of
the four gospels: Matthew 26:52 ('"Put your sword
back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who
draw the sword will die by the sword.'), Luke
22:51 ('But Jesus answered, "No more of this!" And
he touched the man's ear and healed him.'), and
John 18:11 ('Jesus commanded Peter, "Put your
sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father
has given me?"'). Mark does not record a rebuke,
but does note that while one disciple used a
sword, Jesus allowed himself to be arrested
peacefully (implying that he disagreed with the
use of force). If Jesus ever told them to have a
sword handy (for self-defense) as they went into
the world preaching the gospel, why then do Acts
and the epistles consistently show the disciples
accepting persecution peacefully? It is clear from
these passages (and there are more) that
Christians are not allowed to use force to spread
the message of the Gospel. We are to make clear
that it is very serious to reject the message of
God, but if we are not welcomed, then we should
move on to those who are willing to listen

Song of Solomon 7:1-13King James Version (KJV)

7 How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince's daughter! the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman.

2 Thy navel is like a round goblet, which wanteth not liquor: thy belly is like an heap of wheat set about with lilies.

3 Thy two bosoms are like two young roes that are twins.

4 Thy neck is as a tower of ivory; thine eyes like the fishpools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bathrabbim: thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon which looketh toward Damascus.

5 Thine head upon thee is like Carmel, and the hair of thine head like purple; the king is held in the galleries.

6 How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights!

7 This thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy bosoms to clusters of grapes.

8 I said, I will go up to the palm tree, I will take hold of the boughs thereof: now also thy bosoms shall be as clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples;

9 And the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved, that goeth down sweetly, causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak.

10 I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me.

11 Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages.(EMIRATE STADIUM)LOL

12 Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves.

13 The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved.

Ruth 3:1-4King James Version (KJV)

3 Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?

2 And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to night in the threshingfloor.

3 Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.

4 And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.

Proverbs 7:11-14King James Version (KJV)

11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.

there is no justifiable for violence in christianity, God the son (Jesus Christ) came and showed us the perfect way to live life unlike an "alledgedly sent prophet" who fought violently to "protect islam from persecution".....God is all-powerful, we don't fight for him, he fights for us...Jesus Christ the only perfect being never encouraged the sword and condemned it at all times even when his disciples were trying to protect him from being arrested.....these verses and other "violent verses that people twist in other to justify the madness of other faiths" was explained in details by me sometime ago...pls go to this link.; https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10203064762133362&id=1634959181&refid=17&_ft_ .....And to those condemning christianity on isreal-gaza whatever...isreal is presently more of an islamic country than a christianity thanks to a "prophet" who forcefully converted many jews. Every one's got potential, what will you say of a lazy man who got lucky and good things came his way, or a very hard working man who has not made it,,,This is life, face it. The "Nigerian orientation" of young ladies will leave many of them in the hands of people who don't love them and will maltreat them and make them miserable till they grow old....Why do you think the rate of divorce in Nigeria is increasing?...True love is gradually fading in our environment and hence the reason for inappropriate standards set by ladies.. Our parents (those that are successfully in marriage) will be in the best position to really contribute to this matter. As a matter of fact, more than 50 percent of our parents grew into financial stability, and considering the fact that the Nigerian system is more competitive today, a man who struggles with life at the initial stage does not mean he will struggle for life, and that does not mean he should necessarily face rejection when he is ripe for marriage...
Family › Re: Who Is A Guy With Potential? by winner01(m): 7:15pm On Sep 03, 2014
ihedinobi2: Potential is not the same as guarantee, it's merely resident possibility. And just about every man has it.

However, to the crux of the matter: I believe strongly in finding your feet before looking for love. In fact, I do not believe in looking for love at all. I consider love as something that happens in the course of life. I personally prefer to have an understanding what I want in my woman and just carry on with life until I see it. And when I see it, I go after it like the devil is at my heels, doesn't matter what I'm doing right then.

A man who is steadily building his life will likely meet women he would like to share the work with. My answer to that situation is this: if she stays knowing that this is hard work and she fights on anyway, she's earned every right in the book. If she goes, like the Book says, "if we have suffered with Him we shall also reign with Him", the converse is also true.

The thing that must be dealt with as the problem is not what might or can happen in the future (which is what all the talk of potential tends to be about) but what any given man has planned for himself and what he is doing about it. Some men have a goal that takes a hell of a lot of work to get to while others have one that doesn't take quite so much. Believe me, to become a professional (a doctor, engineer, lawyer etc) is a lot easier than to be, say, an entrepreneur. The former can become the latter and probably a bit more easily than it is for one to head directly into it. But the direct path is by far more tasking, more discouraging and more tortuous. So, if a woman wants to judge "potential", she should be looking at where the man is headed and how much it will cost to get there and decide whether she's up to it.

I have not taken into consideration the vagaries of life. Accidents do happen and the best-laid plans are ripped apart without regard to what career path or vision any given person runs with. These things cannot be helped. But what a man wants to accomplish with his life is wholly under his control. A man's choice of purpose and of means for achieving his purpose is his alone. A woman may rightly judge him by that. A woman may also judge a man by his refusal to be held down by ever-changing circumstances or by his resignation to the forces of life.

Again, I emphasize, a woman is right to judge a man's ability to lead her into the destiny she desires for herself. She can thus judge each suitor and decide the one that best suits her overall vision in life. But if a woman finds a man who has a clear, unconfused and sensible vision that he is pursuing and he is giving everything he's got to it and taking every help within reason that he can get and she is just afraid that it is delaying so much so that she abandons him, then she does not deserve to have any hardworking man commit to life with her at all. And any such man who loses her has lost nothing of value. But if she sticks and insists on working it out, pushing him even when he is exhausted and discouraged as life is often capable of rendering even the hardiest of men, she's a diamond and deserves every bit of investment that such a man can put into her.

About the man in the op, I have two things to say:

1. It does not speak very well of him that five years down the line into his thirties he is still stymied. I understand that life can oppose one so much that they lose the strength to keep fighting and sort of settle down into a lethargy waiting for some kind of handout or pick-me-up. And many times it is totally legitimate. Not everyone is born a self-starter, that is the way God made the world. We are not all the same. But a man who does his best with what he has is not a failure or an unsuccessful man. In this particular case, however, I could feel lethargy through the story, weariness where there should be defiance and self-reinvention. But I can only see through the OP's eyes so I can only limit the accuracy of my judgment to the accuracy of his sentiments.

2. A woman is a terrible asset to a man. In the Bible it is said that one will chase a thousand but two will chase ten thousand. The presence of a woman in a man's life can boost him in the most amazing ways. A man can take a lot of things and endure a lot of things as long as he can count on the woman he has chosen to trust with his life. Frequently, however, when that trust is betrayed, men can be totally wrecked. A man can lose all his strength and zeal to live when a woman loses her faith in him. It takes a man choosing to move on IN SPITE of her to get beyond stuff like that. So I consider that it is very possible that the departure of his lady love dealt a severe blow to his will to fight for his life and dreams.

To that I say that my brother should get a new fixation, something that he can make more important than his very life and fight for it.
bros, who are you...this post is about the most intelligent I've come across on Nairaland this year.

flyca: OP, Personal Experience.

Sometime ago, I started "seeing" one of my sister's old time classmate, an Architect from a Federal University, graduated with a good result and have a Master's degree, and with two year experience too. These were the sketchy details I knew about him before we started dating. So yes!, he has potentials.

Ok. Two months into the r/ship, I noticed this guy was broke, broke with the necessities of basic living. I started becoming worried. I lived in a city two hours from his, but he couldn't afford t-fare (not time) once in a week or two to come and see me. Calls nko?, na me dey call most times. Ok o. I was still on it.

Once, I went to his office see him, by the time I set out by 5pm back to my city, I drank a bottle of coke. Even the taxi fare to the park, he didn't give me. Hmmmmm. No need to say, I was "down". Another day, I went back to his residence to visit him on a Sunday o, I nearly fainted at what I saw. His room in the family house even had a leaky roof shocked

The one that broke the Carmel's back, was the day he asked me to transfer some call credit to his phone. At this time, I had completely lost grip!

So am I a gold-digger? Am I impatient? I'm I unrealistic or simply unreasonable? I leave the answers to you.

As much as having potentials is good, if its not translated into financial ability(lack of better adjectives), there is no need to bring out a lady from her father's house to starve her.
most Nigerian girls don't have your type of patience, you'll make a good wife.

TheCode: I wonder what Akinwunmi Adesina, the honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, would say if he sees your post.
well he should know that we lovers of Agriculture are being discouraged because of its low employment rate and are made to feel less important than our counterparts. Reason why we look for our oppourtunities elsewer.

tbaba1234: Leiden’s oldest Koran fragments more than a century older than previously believed

The very oldest Koranic fragments owned by the Leiden University Libraries date back to the second half of the seventh century, between 30 and 70 years after the death of the Prophet Muhammad. This has been shown by newly conducted radiocarbon analyses. This finding agrees with official Islamic teachings.

The Koranic fragments, which are on papyrus and parchment, do not themselves bear a date. ‘On the basis of the elongated, slanted Arabic script known as Hijazi we did know that the fragments in Leiden must be old,’ says Dr Arnoud Vrolijk, curator of Oriental manuscripts in the Special Collections department of the Leiden University Libraries. The papyrus fragment had been cautiously dated to about 770–830 A.D., but the recently completed analysis has shown that it is older than that, dating from the period between 650 and 715. ‘Well over a century older than we thought,’ says Vrolijk. No one had ever ventured to estimate the age of the parchment fragments. ‘Now we can say that the oldest fragment on parchment probably dates from the period 650–700.’

Committed to writing during Uthman’s caliphate

‘What’s interesting,’ says Vrolijk, ‘is that according to official Islamic teaching the Koran was first committed to writing during the caliphate of Uthman, who ruled from 645 to 656. The results of the analysis are in very close agreement with that, or at least don’t contradict it.’ Many Western Islamic scholars are sceptical about such an early date for when the Koran was set down in writing. They believe that the canonical text of the Koran was only written down much later, in the ninth century or even later.’ Patricia Crone and Michael Cook, Arabists and historians at Princeton University who received an honorary doctorate from Leiden University in 2013 also joined in the discussion. They are among the sceptics.

Extra investment in the fragments

In the wake of the carbon-14 analysis the University Libraries decided to make an extra investment to improve the physical condition of the old parchment. In the libraries’ own restoration workshop Karin Scheper stabilised the material and reinforced the fragile edges with new parchment

Major research on the early history of the Koranic text

Under the coordination of the Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademi der Wissenschaften, two institutes – one German (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) and the other French (Agence Nationale de Recherche) – began the international Coranica project, aimed at research into the early history of the Koranic text. The research deals not only with the text, but also with the physical fragments. The researchers are including in their research fragments located in places like Berlin and Paris. Although more fragments are held elsewhere, Leiden University is also being featured in the research due to a number of fragments in its collections. Leiden University was happy to co-operate

lol....it will always be younger than the Bible no wonder the writer modified its teachings similar to the Bible. Acts 4:12. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there
is no other name under heaven given among
men, whereby we must be saved.
That name JESUS
