He/she will give you a letter stating that the money is a gift and that you are not required to pay back. You need to go to a Notary public to get this done and endorsed.
Yes I know. But the website states 6 months for bank statement. Hope they won't think the money was borrowed by my parents if it lands in their account suddenly?

I am also at this stage. I would be using funds invested in a finance house, together with gift deed from an Uncle and affidavit. Would that be a valid proof of fund for Canadian PR?
I'm not sure. I only know about a gift deed and little about treasury bill. Can I send you an email request so that we can connect?

CIC requires only reference letter in the specified format. It id when you can't get in the correct format, you attach other documents. Pls go through IRCC website for more info.
If I get you correctly, CIC only needs reference letter. Not payslips or employment letters?

Anyone can provide you with funds but let it all be paid into the account of either of your parents or sibling. It is easier to explain and defend the relationship
But does it have to have been in parents or siblings account for 6 months?

Sorry, I thought someone had responded. You'll need to liquidate it and show evidence that you have the money in your account (bank statement).

You can liquidate your investment prior to submitting your application post ITA and use the statement of account, or submit the treasury bill certificate. However, there are several instances where IRCC will raise flags about the certificate during processing of your application. At that point, you'll be required to liquidate and send them your bank statement.
Concerning the time, the longer the treasury bill stays, the better!!! If the treasury bill had been in your name and over 6months old, no issues at all. Just liquidate and submit your statement showing the balance. You don't need to wait another 6 months.

Regards
If I'm going to do a gift deed. Does the money have to have been in the senders account for six months?

Thank you @SunshineD1 for the response. The second part of my question though: please is there a required timeline, like one has to show that it's been there for 6 months (just like when using SOA), or timeline doesn't apply to tbills (so long as its in the primary applicants name)?

Would really appreciate your response!
Please can you put me through on how this treasury bill thing works, I seem to be stuck at the POF stage.

Letter of Explanation
This will accompany the employment letter right?
This is the thing, the MSc started in 2015 and by 2016 I was done with both course work and field work but due to work and health related factors, I was unable to defend my project until 2018. That why the program extended till then. So basically, I was working throughout the period till date.

You shouldn't worry if you were studying part-time while working full-time.
But where you worked FT and studied FT at the same time, then a LOE may be advised.
IMO
What's the meaning of a LOE please?
Will this accompany my employment letter because I was working FT and studying FT.

This confused me anyway
it is very confusing, they should state it out clearly that one can claim work experience while studying. This has misled a lot of people.

Stencil:
Ask questions about? (please clarify)
You go about this the same way you go about a regular work reference letter. Show your employer the work experience letter requirement, located here and let them do the needful.

You don't have to mention school and all that, they can see it in your timeline. It is not out of the ordinary to go to school and work. It is very common in the western world.
What I meant by "ask questions" is that they might see the education timeline and think one is trying to gain work experience points just to increase crs points.
But it's good anyway since it doesn't matter, I'll use it.

Attending all lectures isn't a requirement for the award of degrees. During my Master's program, some of us had full-time employment and shared their time between classes and work. It all depends on the arrangement with the employer, in which case the time spent attending lectures is considered time-off which doesn't compromise the full-time status of the job.
IRCC understands this right?

You can claim Foreign (outside Canada) work experience while in school.
Congratulations on your new CRS score.
Evaluating only Msc is perfect. That's what you're getting points for.
@Bolded, feel free to delete that person's contact info. undecided This thread permits you.
Makes me wonder how many others are out there in your shoes.
Thanks. That has been a concern because due to the information I was given, I was planning to use only one year experience from when I completed my last degree which was Aug 2018.

But if it's allowed to use years of working experience while on school, that's even great.

The person who gave me the information also has 3+ years working experience but finished her masters April 2019 and she's done her ECA report, so she's waiting for April 2020 to be able to claim 1 year working experience.

That might be a part time job
It all depends on the numbers of working hours/day
Are there specific working hours per day that IRCC requires?
Because you know how Nigeria is, most postgraduate students also work.

In my case, I was working full time and was also schooling full time. It was not a part time job. I can claim points for it right?

Claim your full work experience.
Working while schooling is legal so claim that experience if you can get a reference letter for it
I can get a reference letter for it.
I'm just wondering where the person got the information that I can't claim years of working experience while engaged in full time schooling.

Thank you so much for your help. But something is still unclear.

Are you saying I claim years of full time working experience even while I was doing my MSc full time?

If so, this can shoot my CRS score to 493.

I was told by someone that I have to start counting years of work experience from time of last certification (which in my case is August 2018) and that claiming years of Full-time work experience while studying Full-time will raise eyebrows.
Additionally, I did not evaluate my Bsc, only Msc so this shouldn't be a problem right?

Hello House. I've really learnt a lot more here about EE over the past few days than I've learnt anywhere else and I'm so grateful to those who make the effort. However I have a few questions.

1. I have 2 MSc degrees presently and one Professional degree. Do these 2 degrees count as one MSc or do my points increase for this? And does WES still evaluate professional degrees?

2. I had 8/8.5/7.5/6.5 in IELTS and have requested for a EOR. What are the chances of an improvement in my 6.5 speaking score?

3. And most importantly, I had my first MSc cert in 2016 and have been working since then, but I had my second MSc cert in 2018 and I have evaluated both degrees with WES. My question is, since the second MSc is dated August 2018, can I still claim 3 years working experience or do I have to start counting years of working experience from the time of the last degree which is 2018 (less than 2 years working experience). Please I really need an answer to this question because if I claim 3years working experience, my CRS will increase considerably.

4. Can I use my sister as beneficiary because I'd like her to go with me if it eventually clicks. She's 24 years old.

5. The POF is a big deal, please how does one escape this bottleneck?

6. Are there any WhatsApp or telegram groups that are creates solely for those who wish to migrate to Canada? If you know any, please I'd like to join.

Thanks.

MuttleyLaff:
Happy New and rewarding Year to you CaveAdullam. I am filled with awe, even, still, long after finding out the meaning of your moniker.

I digress, but back to the new year 2020. Not many have thought of the significance of 20, actually repeating itself in this new year, you know repeating just like in those sort of "truly, truly ..." John 1:51, John 3:3 etcetera Johannine biblical intro phrases, and the thing is, it is repeating itself for a "credible" and truthfully significant reason(s). Yeah, its the season thanks to one mister PrecisionFx, for getting me to use the word "credible" here, lol. "Credible" is in vogue thanks to him, lol. Anyway, as I was saying, the new year, apparently is sounding off a robust and/or uncompromising message(s) to whom and/or those applicable, by deliberately and consciously repeating the number twenty twice.

I know there's the negative and positive sides of the number 20, but I strongly believe that because of the 20 repetition being done, in this case, twice, then this year is really all about the positives, and so its identifying with those, more so than with the negatives.

For the sake of twenty, God will not destroy (i.e. Genesis 18:31, lol) Happy rewarding 2020, CaveAdullam.

With that said and done, here's a Happy 2020 to the, our ọga, at the top, Seun.

How will you expect johnnydon22 to answer a question he asked you? undecided

If you don't have an answer to the question let us know and stop wasting people's time
How do you expect me to answer a faulty question. I proved the fault in this thread. If you still don't get it, then I can't help you.

I'll make this one short. You might get my point. When you began this thread, I accused you of starting another "your god is better than my no-god" thread. You protested at the time, but are now asking me to compare what you call "atheistic democides" with "religious democides", a "your god is better than my no-god" argument, in the thread in which I accused you of doing exactly that!

In that initial post of mine, I went on to tell you the difficulty of either side accepting the other's evidence, and you predictably called that post "crap". Now you ask me for "crap" to refute your "crap"!

My response is that those who kill do not do so because of some god or no gods but because of their desire to fulfil their own selfish ends. Hitler is a classic example. He was dogmatic and set up of a personality cult with himself as the messianic figure who would save the starving Germans. He used every trick in the book, including condemning what he derisory called the "atheist communists", and whom he eradicated from Germany in his desire to acquire power. But to you, he is an atheist! And his atheism made him the idiot he is!

Sam Harris, whom I am certain you would not accept as being worthy of having his opinion considered, wrote that:

"The problem with fascism and communism, however, is not that they are too critical of religion; the problem is that they are too much like religions. Such regimes are dogmatic to the core and generally give rise to personality cults that are indistinguishable from cults of religious hero worship."

Note that he qualified "religious hero" with the word "cult", an admission that not all "religious hero worship" is cultish!

No winner, I refuse to compare diqs with you to find out which is bigger. I am an atheist. And if that makes you think I am going to kill more people than you would kill because you are a theist, then so be it. Continue to think so. I, buda, will live. But in case you care to know, my position is that when unevolved apes behave as asses, it has nothing to do with gods or the lack of gods since gods don't exist anyway. People are responsible for their own actions, even if they claim divine authority or if it is claimed for them or not.

I hope this is not too long for you.
- My response is that those who kill do not do so because of some god or no gods but because of their desire to fulfil their own selfish ends

- Keep this energy when you see atheists say that religion is the biggest cause of violence throughout human history.

- I'm glad you now get the point.

This is how intelligent people reason, but discount for the fact that we count better in modern times.
Nice one by Brian Dunning who is "intelligent" only because he's atheist. smiley

But as much as I'm tempted to, I won't reply Brian Dunning.

You type too many long articles and its tiring refuting obvious mistakes and sentiments.

Create that thread, and reference Brian Dunning and other authors. I'll take the pain to attend to it.

Educate yourself by going though this List of wars by death toll.
Work out how many of the wars had atheists on either side. Then tell me which has religion as a reason for the wars, and the deaths.
I've gone through it before and I went through it again today.

You'll do well to classify which were religious wars and atheist wars because Wikipedia didn't. wink
