KingEbukasBlog:Did I say 80% Its hard though to find just one reasonable atheist leader. |
joseph1832:Good question. |
joseph1832:She already believes in herself, I dont think she wants to be locked up in the tiny world of atheism. joseph1832:Are you saying Christians who ruled U.S.A and U.K for several years looted their countries dry? Any sane person knows what Jesus taught pertaining to leadership. Africa has its problem, its not religion 80% of all the atheists leaders worldwide who have ever existed have tried to impose atheism on their countries and as such have destroyed hundreds of millions of souls. Is this your alternative? Or that our Leaders do the right thing? |

www.nairaland.com/attachments/4303231_s17066771edit_pngba77e1b8ff5cd82d16ef8da2c6a00c74 In the 1980’s, actor Kirk Cameron was best known for his role as Mike Seaver on the popular sitcom Growing Pains. While Cameron still takes the spotlight from time-to-time, reminding viewers of his rise to fame during his teenage years, he has remained relatively vocal in the media regarding his Christian faith. What may be largely unknown was that Cameron considered himself an atheist up until is conversion at age 17. Growing up in the greater Los Angelis area of a largely post-Christian California, Cameron holds that he was a “staunch” atheist. In fact, the thought of being religious was an insult to his intelligence. For him, religion was a fairytale, and anyone who thought differently was severely lacking intellectually. This was an attitude he adopted from his family, friends and community where religion was scarcely to be found. As Cameron’s star rose at about the age of 14, he became rapidly successful with fame, money and world travel at his fingertips. Religion became less appealing than ever since it had always seemed like a system of rules intended to confine and prohibit the enjoyment of life. It was a frustration to Cameron when he became interested in a girl, and he couldn’t get at her because she was a Christian. This was an immediate obstacle in his attempts to date her. Her father hindered Kirk’s advances, telling Kirk that he needed the Lord. This frustrated and annoyed Cameron. Said Kirk, “I don’t believe in God and that’s not something I’m interested in.” The man invited him to attend church, and Cameron attended with absolutely no pious interests in mind, “I only went because the girl was really cute and I wanted to get to know her.” However, as Cameron listened to the sermon, he began to pay attention. The pastor held God up as a being of absolute greatness, perfection and purity. This was not something Kirk had considered before. The minister then explained that the distance between humans – finite, imperfect creatures – and God, only lengthened when humans acted out of self-interest and denounced any connection to their creator. Despite his disbelief in God, this seemed to make a great deal of sense to young Cameron. But the gaping distance between himself and a perfect God was intimidating, even frightening. However, the minister explained, that despite God’s perfection, purity and infinite separation from finite and imperfect humans, God was loving, compassionate and forgiving, and desired to close that gap and have a relationship with his creatures. This, the minister, explained, was done through the person of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, who came to earth, lived a perfect life, and then took the imperfections of humanity upon himself and exchanged them for his perfection so that humans could be united with their God. All of this hit home emotionally for Cameron, but religion had always seemed so nonsensical to him. So as he rode home with the family, he asked the father questions about science and the Bible, and other world religions and several other things which had contributed to his atheism. He was surprised to find that the father had intelligent answers to these questions. Cameron began to investigate these things on his own. He began to read the Bible and look into his questions. But what really plagued Kirk was the thought of his own death. As he sat in his sports car one evening, he thought to himself, “If I get in a car accident and die tonight, will I go to heaven?” The answer was clearly “no.” As his final test for the reality of God, Cameron prayed. He prayed that, if God were real, he would show the young actor his reality, and that he would forgive him. Cameron’s immediate sense of peace and forgiveness were palpable, as was the change of life he experienced. He began to regularly read the Bible and study up on his newfound beliefs. He discovered that Christianity wasn’t a system of rules and regulations meant to destroy the joy in life, but rather a loving and nurturing relationship with one’s Creator. Cameron’s activities post-conversion are fairly well-known. He wasn’t timid about revealing his new Christian beliefs to the cast of Growing Pains. He has been involved in several independent Christian film projects in the past several decades, and remains active in several ministry programs. Cameron has never once been shy about his beliefs, and remains a very outspoken Christian in the media. source: https://jamesbishopblog./2016/02/28/actor-kirk-cameron-explains-his-journey-from-atheism-to-christianity/ |
Why not enjoy your own heaven in peace and freedom. This life is the only heaven you may ever know I strongly advise that you enjoy it while you yet have life. |
joseph1832:Ive written what is responsible for the woes of Africa as a whole. Are you a kid ![]() |
joseph1832:And so the actions of some christians disproves the existence of Christ who preaches love? ![]() What is wrong with you people? |
joseph1832:You mean how U.S.A, U.K, Russia, Germany etc that have majority of christians is bleeped up. Is religion the problem of Nigeria OR embezzelment and mismanagement of funds, corruption, illiteracy, a lawless system, poverty etc Why are you so immersed in hate to an extent that it has blindfolded you from reality? ![]() |
joseph1832:So do you want her to disbelieve in God with you? |
Seun:Lol. Seun, why not lets quit kidding .1. Christianity is the biggest and fastest growing faith in the world, you give islam a section and deliberately deny christians of this, under the guise of comparing with them with other minority Nigerian religions? c'mon. You can do better than this.2. You have once stated clearly here that the nairaland religion section is a war against "incorrect" beliefs. You took down the thread where you wrote this after people called you out for it. I can give you proof if you cant remember. You are an atheist who thinks his belief is correct. Is it safe to say the Nairaland religion section is a war against religious beliefs, especially christianity, seeing the way you willfully/purposely confront christians and go easy on the muslims. 3. You can at least take down your sticky front page thread which advises us to tolerate one another (religious diversity) and also modify the misleading intent of this section which reads "Share your faith and belief in God or higher powers here". So innocent people can be warned that the section is discriminately filled with people who have no "faith and belief in God or higher powers". That is what transparency entais. Seun:We need not bully people into the faith. No one has ever been argued into the kingdom of God. You know in your heart that Christ stood for peace and love. You claim to be ex-christian. If "peace loving atheism" means comparing christianity to mental illness, a disease and allowing or even sanctioning other forms of ridicule and insults against religious people and their beliefs, then by all means, get on with it. Just remember that "injustice" is one of the reasons y'all have put forth for Gods "non-existence". For other atheists who think what goes on in this section makes sense, it will only fuel more bigotry, hatred and intolerance. If he cares about tolerance, he can learn from this country. |
KingEbukasBlog:True Bro. But their brains may not be able to decode this
|
What does it matter to you if God does not "exist"...
|
nwasinachi:Great message and God bless you. The target is christianity, thats why there is no christian section. The idea is to expose peace loving christians to the mockery, bigotry and rage of the atheists so that they can be bullied out of the faith. We know why they are all against Christianity. Its not surprising. As for me and my house, we will worship the Lord FOREVER.

No man has any power except that which is given to him from above. The Giver of life is the only One that has that right. |

What a remarkable man he is and what a powerful testimony he has! I really recommend checking out his video testimony of which I have shared with family and friends. He has also happily agreed to let me do an interview with him that I will be posting in the coming weeks. The long story short, 23 year old Canadian and former New Age writer Steven Bancarz, who amassed a fortune from his New Age website, became a born-again Christian last year September. His goal is to now expose the dark philosophy of New Age Spirituality for what it really is, namely that of a spiritual deception. Remarkably, having built his own website widely known as Spirit Science and Metaphysics as well as his own online presence, he was averaging 40 000 USD per month from ad revenue alone! Moreover, according to Bancarz the series Ancient Aliens had a significant impact on his religious views, “I can pinpoint it from having started when I was exposed to a program on the History Channel called “Ancient Aliens… It teaches ancient astronaut theory that mythologies and fables from the ancient world are really of ancient man being visited by extraterrestrial beings from outer space who they then describe as being gods.” According to Bancarz this is very much pertinent to New Age topics such as the non-locality of consciousness and information involving ancient wisdom. Having dabbled with this he also warmed up to philosophers who mostly engaged in matters pertaining to science and occultism, “That was right up my alley because it made me feel as though there was a method of spirituality and a method of living out ones spirituality that was confirmable through the scientific method, through science. And that made more sense to me holistically than any of the other world religions.” Bancarz started his own Facebook page and also began writing popular and widely read articles on New Age spirituality. Not long afterwards did he make key connections in the online New Age community. His website and online writings were so widely read that from the ad revenue he was able able to purchase his own sports car and house at age 22! However, Bancarz tells us that towards the end of 2015 he had a dramatic personal experience with Jesus that fully transformed his life. One night on the balcony of the house he had purchased, he made a prayer out of his desperation,“Every ounce of my strength was ground to nothing, and I said ‘OK, that’s it. I’m done. I’m done playing games, God. I just want you. Jesus, I want you in your fullness… And that’s when I just fell at His feet.” After this radical experience he went on to glorify Jesus by shutting down his latest project for his website even though it would have brought in a hefty income from ad revenue alone. If one doubts his sincerity it would do well for her to know that Bancarz even went as far as to sell his house and sports car. Moreover, since he stopped writing New Age articles he had cut his profits by 97%. www.nairaland.com/attachments/4302642_s31035770editedit_jpeg38b817b175d81ae6603012e9cd6ef4d6 According to Bancarz God then led him to a local Pentecostal church at which he fully renounced his New Age philosophy and beliefs. He recalls that after the minister had begun praying for him he became dizzy and started breathing heavily. At one point he felt paralyzed from his elbows down to his wrists and hands. This, he believed, demonstrated the darkness in which he had been living as well as sharing with others. Bancarz, however, has truly been amazed at how God has used what was initially evil to advance his kingdom, “God is giving me the discerning of spirits to be able to rightly judge what material and what spirits are not of God, and to show me how to best expose them.” www.nairaland.com/attachments/4302645_s29218769editedit_png3b5789a60b67b2dfbb0cdf569f29a143 Bancarz had since been reading the Bible diligently and says that Christians must “hold everything up to the light of Scripture because all Scripture is God-breathed. And that [standard] is the Words of Jesus Christ Himself and the words of the Apostles themselves.” Bancarz’s message is thus clear. He wants to share with believers and unbelievers alike that God is truly knowable and that all of us can come into a personal relationship with him that is supernatural, “The minute that we encounter the living, breathing presence of the Holy Spirit everything changes. And I would encourage people to pursue that, to pursue God in His fullness and to seek Jesus as He really is rather than who we want Him to be. The minute that we do that it is His promise in scripture that He will make Himself known to us… you don’t need a certain level of intelligence, you don’t need to be in a certain state of consciousness, you don’t need a certain level of knowledge, all you need is a heart that hungers for the reality of God. And Jesus is the real deal.” Bancarz leaves us with these amazing thoughts, “God is not some kind of energy blob. God is not some kind of impersonal force… or some kind of void. God is a personal being who loves you, sees you, and has a purpose for you, a will for you. And it is a promise from him that if you seek him diligently that he will reveal himself to you.” I forward all readers to Bancarz’s new website, Exposing the New Age, which is a Christian apologetics effort that aims to expose New Age Spirituality and false claims made about Jesus Christ. source:https://jamesbishopblog./2016/09/29/former-new-ager-steven-bancarzs-radical-conversion-to-follow-jesus/ |
HardMirror:It does not matter what you say. |
HardMirror:The key word here is "imaginary". You need to have infinite knowledge of all things to make such assertion. As for fear, im at loss on why some atheists emphasize this. I and many other people i know do not talk about hell as much as we talk about heaven. I look forward to heaven, i rarely think about hell talkless of fear it. The Bible itself teaches to fear God and not hell. The fear of God "Yirat Adonai" in the real sense means reverence for ones Creator. Its like saying I fear my father. I take care of him now but i revere him. There are portions of the Bible which reads "and he greately FEARED the Lord". This means serious reverence. Not that he fears the idea of God. The contemporary meaning of fear now is what we cant attribute to scriptures. Fear itself is not a bad motivator. Im yet to see a real student of psychology among you atheists. The other day one tried to explain to johnydon22 how humans are naturally selfish, he was greatly misunderstood, and humans really are. Fear can be a motivator to reach a required goal. Other forms of motivation are wages, promises, promotion etc Many humans fear the law else they will be dancing to the tune of their animalistic desires. Some men want to rape that lady they cant get but for the law, some men want to rob that bank but for the law afterall our leaders are corporate thieves etc. The fear of losing someone might motivate you to engage in an action. Fear might hinder your children from engaging in certain activities because of what daddy and mummy would do if they try it. Fear is a part of our daily motivations. I wonder what all this fuss about fear is. |
johnydon22:There is nothing abhorable about this. Christ made himself a sacrifice for our sins. We make sacrifices everyday of our lives for the things we want to accomplish. It all makes sense. The shedding of the blood of Jesus (God the Son) is the only blood that could take on the sins of the world and thus marked the end of sacrificial animals. It does not need to make sense to you. |
HardMirror:Police men are real, thats why we dont spend our lives trying to disprove their existence. He made perfect sense. |
ValentineMary:Can you direct us to the scriptural verse you quoted, at least so we can know if you learnt anything from catholicism. |
KingEbukasBlog:Hahn has a serious problem. I dont know why any human would even think like this. |
This Asian American grew up in a home in America adorned with statues of Buddha, with incense seeping in every room, including his own. And yet despite all these and the religious guidance he received from his devout Buddhist parents, Alex Chu never felt any personal connection with Buddha and his parents' faith. "I wanted to honour my parents. However, there was never a personal relationship with any of the Buddhas. It was always at a distance," Alex told CBN News. Following the religion and meeting his parents' expectations put him under constant pressure. He started questioning his faith when he reached high school but he couldn't shake off the feeling of restlessness and the lack of joy inside him. It was only when he went to college when he discovered the truth that would turn his life around. He saw it in the faces of Christian students in the dormitory where he stayed. "They seemed very tight-knit, very friendly. But even more so there was a lot of joy on their faces. They didn't seem to have a lot of pressure on them," he said. Amazed, Alex began trying to understand the Christian faith. He found more surprises along the way, like the unconditional love preached in the Christian faith and the believers' personal relationship with God. In his desire to find out more about Jesus Christ, he attended a Christian Fellowship meeting where "for the first time I heard about the grace of God." Alex later joined a Bible study where he was further impressed by "the authority with which [Jesus] spoke ... [and] the love that He had and compassion for all people." Alex then "came to that conclusion that [Jesus] was indeed the Son of God ... [and] that He died for my sins that I may have life eternally with Him." He then told his parents of his decision to become a Christian. It took years for his parents to finally accept his decision. After college, Alex worked as an engineer before heeding a call from God to attend seminary class in preparation for ministry work. He is now married to a fellow Christian and they are busy raising three children. "As an Asian American that was always trying to seek approval and achieve things, it has meant everything to me to recognise that [God] loves me unconditionally and offers an eternal life with Him," he said. I see nothing wrong here. God can love the scent or smell of His creation? Whats the big deal? A symbol of acceptance of sacrifice? I dont know where an eternal barbecue is mentioned in scriptures, neither is there any portion of the Bible which specifically states that Hell was made for humans. Humans can however choose to go to hell if they freely will, but salvation has been provided in Christ Jesus for those who freely will believe in Him. If you dont like hell, I think its no use talking it away. Your opinion does not change anything, my opinion doesnt change anything. As a matter of fact, the Gospel is not even christian opinion. |
frank317:Is that what Jesus would do? And next time, its winner01. You dey fear? ![]() |
Lennycool:I agree religion has led him thus far. He needs Jesus, you too.
|
Ranchhoddas:He is under no obligation to say the truth. Will you as a christian run from an atheist? Would Jesus run from an atheist? These people are desperate. This thread might be headed for front page. hopefulLandlord:Stalin is one out of almost 70 atheists that imposed atheism on the world in the 20th century. Ive given examples no one has been able to refute. Till today in atheist north korea, christians are still hung on a cross fire, steamrolled and crushed to death. Christianity is the reason you have a voice. Lennycool:So when will you frame your story. If you can be this desperate to spend your life on a religion section, then i dont think a very convincing story will be much of a big deal KingEbukasBlog:If it was a miracle story, the idiots will be screaming evidence upandan. hopefulLandlord:Keep crying.... We believe in Christ. We will continue to.
|
onetrack:Its better you ask seun to restrict religious people from visiting the religious section. |
Op, you need Jesus in your life. |
