ilovetheline: accurate enough to prove the Genesis story false. did u just say the Bible is incomplete? the Bible said there are 40 generations then listed them. the accuracy is not 100. but accounting for the accuracy is a PLUS or minus stillway larger than Bible claims. lol, I did not say the Bible is incomplete, I said we assume the the genealogies of the Bible are complete. Of course they cant be. The Bible is not an history book. You didnt answer my question. The earth was in existence before the devil was cast down. So in which year/generation was the devil cast down from Heaven?. So you have faith that nothing happened over the years to affect the process of fossilization or you just have faith that the archeologists who desperately want atheism to be true are acting in your favour by telling you the whole truth.

ilovetheline: check your Bible. count the ancestors of jesus from Adam to Noah, Noah to David then David to Jesus add 2016. about 40 generations in each of these step. let's assume they lived on 400 years on average. 40*3*400+2016. the Bible in hence purported that the world existed for about 50,016 years. the oldest fossils by carbon dating range from 2 billion years. humanoid bone fossils 6 million years. Assuming the geneaologies are complete, in which year/generation was the devil cast down from Heaven?. Carbon dating is inaccurate, you cant conclude that nothing happened over the years to affect the fossilization process.

Great thread Op. Sadly, atheists will always explain it away. How can anyone even ask "who created God". Man is bound by time and space. And there is proof that those two began with the beginning of the universe. So How does one ever try to probe what was in existence before the big bang. i.e before time and space We havent even probed successfully how we came into existence and some deluded ones feel they can probe how God came into existence. Some of them know the world was not created by nothing, but admitting this fact will make them admit the existence of a Creator. Its not actually about reasoning, its more about parroting arguments heard from other atheists. Little wonder the Bible said, God gave them over to a strong delusion. lol. Happy sunday oP.

Christianity Etc › Re: Help! A Wedding Is About To Be Cancelled Because Of Tithe Card by winner01(m): 1:00am On Aug 07, 2016 |
Strawman: The answer to these "real questions":
There is absolutely no part of the Bible that says tithing is mandatory/compulsory. It was an old testament concept to support national worship in Israel and help the poor by donating 10%..we are not under any obligation like that.
"Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion , for God loves a cheerful giver." (2 Cor 9:7)
The Bible promotes cheerful giving, not necessarily tithing. And abeg how does the pastor expect someone to pay a total of 2 years tithe in a cheerful manner?
If you've been giving tithe, that is good, but let it be because you've chosen to give cheerfully to the church, and not because you take it as a compulsory task; it is not by force.
No..not at all
No
It's disturbing how some pastors have managed to pervert the true message of the Bible into something else entirely. If anyone's noticed, people who frown at Christianity are actually frowning at those who interprete Christianity wrongly. God bless you Bro. |

Its simple. Ask real questions.
Is tithing mandatory?
Will Jesus demand such?
Is that the only church around?
You can as well tell a new convert at age 80 to pay all the tithe he has owed for 80 years.
crap!!

HCpaul: There is only one thing that retain a rational mind in Christianity. That simple thing is called "fear".
I just don't consider it sane to be detain in Christianity all because of fear. That is to tell you that every rational mind is an atheist just that some smart people among us are smart enough to boldly declare themselves as an atheist.
Assumptively, if there is really an intelligent designer for the universe, i would have adhere to the theory of Creators and not a single Creator. Just be sane enough to know the meaning of power and restrict yourself from this abject misconception that a single personality keeps commanding the materialistic world into existence and reality. The theory of divinity is a more dangerous trash than religion herself. That someone is powerful doesn't just mean that he will sit down and say "Let there be light" and the irrational mind who wasn't there coming into some silly conclusion by saying that "And there was light". That is purely fiction.
And tracing the existence of this Creator, you guys are yet to provide a convincing point of discuss. The last time I asked you guys, you intelligently deviated by instructing me to stop questioning the existence of the Creator. This typically imply that you people have no idea of how your Creator was created and became stagnant to the fallible theory that he wasn't created. Since you can't explain the origin of your Creator, I as an homo sapient believe that I was likewise uncreated. I think that it is high time I write on the God's Origin. And beside, If anyone will prove to the world the existence of God and other mythological being, it should be the sane and genius scientists among us that are more exposed to the outside world (the universe) than us and not just some primitive men sitting their black ass in Africa and confidently telling the world the Creator that created the Cosmo.
In most cases, I don't have personal issues with religion, just that if there is a God, you don't have to be the medium to reveal his personality, characteristics and functionalities to the world through speech and writings. Let we the world patiently wait till he finally make his identity known to his creature. We are all human, so you don't have to be the one deciding for us if there is a Creator or not. The way the entirety of religion was created clearly indicated that it is purely fiction, an emotional appeal and the works of primitive men like you and them. The boldness to be publicly declaim as an atheist is what many people lacks. But that they've not yet declare themselves doesn't qualify them as a Christian either. The weapon of religion is a deadly weapon that specifically target humans emotion and not the mind, knowing that if human are emotionally captured they cannot be mentally vibrant.
I didn't plan to become an atheist just that the day I started thinking in an erected position, I realized that the philosophy behind religion contradicted the law of reason. I thought that I was the only one thinking that way but decided to stumble on the study of the philosophy behind science and discovered that the theory of the supernatural is a decline concept in the framework of science and scientific theories. Science clearly discarded religious belief and superstitions to achieve success in their progressive explosion on knowledge, artificial creation and the universe. Then I said Wow! I ain't the only one thinking this way, science does.
It just seems silly to see Africans waiting in suspense for the new earth when the west are already invading another planet successfully and colonizing the alien worlds.
I love Sanity! I love Genius! I love Science! I love Reading! I love Technology! I love artificial creations! I have a vast lust for knowledge! Even when you stormed this section as a devout catholic, i remember telling you how devoid of common sense you were. You are worse off as an atheist. Christianity Etc › Re: The Barbaric Execution Of Ananias And Sapphira by winner01(m): 11:44am On Aug 03, 2016 |
blessedvisky: Hi seun. What actually happened here was a misuse of power by Peter. If you recall, Peter was in charge of the church after Christ ascended Matt 16 :18 Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. John 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
So we know Peter had power, and he misused it. If he didn't want either of them to die, they won't have. The church and apostles grew in knowledge throughout the book of Acts. A classical proof of this fact is Acts 8. Simon wanted to buy the power of the Holy Spirit from Peter. Peter rebuked him sharply but he didn't die. Why? Because Peter was now wiser than making someone die. And BTW, you don't have to lie to get a point across. The Bible doesn't record ananais and sapphira having children. I know it must be really hard for you, but don't say what the Bible didn't say.

shadeyinka: There is a universal rule we must apply here..and that is the right to life.
So, who is alive?
Is being alive synonymous to being able to do what adults do? Even though a day old child cannot speak, run, fight...etc. He is regarded as a human being with rights.
A friend of mine was booked to do a caesarian op for her pregnancy because of some complications well before her EDD. When can we say that the foetus taken out is a human being? Must a baby be born before it is regarded as human?
When does a foetus develop pain receptors? If a foetus doesn't have a developed mouth to scream and muscles to squirm would that be enough evidence to conclude that it is not living?
When a man is in coma but he can still breath, don't we still consider him as living and human? Spontaneous abortions do take place just as spontaneous death in grown ups?
So, when really does a foetus transit from a collection of cells to human?
Why is murder evil and immoral? Because it Denys forcefully the potential of an individual. To this end, ABORTION is murder.
Abortion may be permitted if the life of the mother is at stake...other than that, the potential of that human being we call foetus is at stake.
