Hello, please I can’t make the tuition deposit for my school (Near East University)at the bank because of the new regulations, please does anyone know another option or method that I can use? Thank you.
Which new regulations ? Which country are you paying from because if is Nigeria, you can easily pay from your dorm account or give them Naira and the bank will do the transaction provided you supply them the items they need like your acceptance letter.

Those are the safest way to pay!

Other ways are risky!

Yes. Natural Language Processing.
In my MSc, I applied data mining techniques on Nigerian sentiment. Basically it was on extracting sentiment analysis from Nigerian tweets as regards the administration of Willie Obiano of Anambra State Nigeria.

I propose to do is to develop a speech recognition tool, which transcribes clinicians’ speech into an electronic health record. Preferably local Nigerian language.

What do you think?
So you will do voice to text right ? How much Word Error Rate are you looking at ?

It’s fantastic project, you just need to keep training the data. I think if you will go to several local languages then due to accent in different region you may be working to get lots of voices to ensure the WER is quite low.

Good afternoon scholars

It is so nice to meet you all and share knowledge.

I have been a reader here for a bit now, and I finally want to share my profile with you all.

My Academic Profile in Brief

BSc - Sociology
MSc - Sociology (specialization in Criminology and Penology)
PhD - not yet ( trying to secure admission and funding) (PhD in Criminology/Criminal Justice)

Research interests;
Prisoner rehabilitation and reentry measures
Prison culture
Deviant behavior
Juvenile justice system
Transnational human trafficking
Feminist criminology
Women in criminal justice system

I am here to network.

Thank you.
You're more than welcome. Your chosen research topic is both fascinating and useful. You'll largely be working with raw primary data, and I believe you'll be able to publish a lot because there are so many concerns in Africa dealing with prisoners and their wellbeing.

As soon as you've been accepted for a PhD, your possible supervisor should start making contact with various prison centers, and you may also need to make contact with legal institutions to follow up on persons who have been released from prisons to learn more about their well-being.

I'm sure there may be some sort of reform and rehabilitation if you go really practical (not theoretical) and if there are many people like you wanting to go this route.

To receive some study money, you may check into numerous NGOs and other international organizations that deal with human rights and community services.

Best wishes

Hello I am just coming to North Cyprus , near east university I need someone to put me through
Reading the university's foreign student website is the ideal method for every new student to start. Almost every university has a welcome page that instructs students on what they should do when they first arrive.

In addition, these days, every institution has a social media presence, such as Facebook or Instagram, where university staff are frequently ready to answer queries before or after arrival.

The international student office will also be your initial point of contact when you arrive at the institution, where you can ask questions and receive answers.

Good luck!

For stuffs like scheme such as the one in that paper, I use adobe illustrator because it can produce vector images that can be scaled to any size without loss of quality, ideal for printing and high-resolution displays.

For data analysis I use latest version of prism or oringlab…for visualization I use my own Python-MAtplotlib based written desktop software or prisms.

Good Day House, Please am writing my first journal proposed article on Industry 5.0 to boost my PhD application.
May I ask what you meant by “journal proposed article”?

Please where can I submit it for free.
First, I assume you completed your literature review and used multiple published research articles in doing so. You can look at the journals where those articles were published and publish your work in any of them because your literature review will point to certain connected topics of your manuscript.

It's not just about finding free journals to publish your study; it's also about finding trustworthy publications to publish your work. Only journals that are indexed in well-known, international indexes will be counted. Many people publish, yet because they publish in unknown, unrecognized, or respected publications, their progress is hampered, and their work's visibility is harmed.

Please visit any of these publishers and look for their subscription-based journals that are not open access if you want to publish in reputed free journals:

Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Wiley.

I am almost done with it and I did all research alone. Do I need to work with someone or Can I just publish it. Please forgive my naive questions
There is no need to list anyone's name because you conducted your own study. You are able to self-publish.

Good afternoon Prof, I'm currently having my MSc under Social Science (Budgeting and Public Financial Management). I came across two journals on using AI to make smart public budget. I'm sure this is a new field that I would love to go into.
Hi,

Yes, due to the sheer scale of the federal and state governments' combined budgets, operational efficiency is a particularly crucial issue. The public budget has been plagued by many types of fraud that have become increasingly difficult to detect. Because of the vast amount of digital data in this era of digital technology, AI and machine learning are well-suited for public budget fraud detection as well as smart public budgeting. In fact, smart public budgeting and detection of budget fraud are already in use in industrialized countries.

but I'm afraid I might not be able to carry out such research due to my poor & no background in computer science etc..
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are subsets of Computer science. To learn and use AI and ML, you don't have to be a computer scientist or even study computer science. I've never studied computer science at university, but I've learned a lot on my own and developed some specific devices and systems that use various aspects of computer science, engineering, and software engineering.

Among the things I've self-taught is a variety of programming languages that I believe will be valuable for my ambitions and hobbies.

-----Python and its various libraries: I learned this because Python is a general-purpose programming language that focuses on code readability and includes numerous packages and tools for working with scientific data. With Python, you can learn AI and ML, you can Web and Internet Development, you can develop various Desktop GUIs and use them in various Business Applications.

----AI and ML: This just involves some algorithm which you can process via python, R language or other languages, some statistics, and data analysis. This simply entails some sort of algorithm that you can run in python, R, or other languages, as well as some statistics and data analysis. You can learn AI and machine learning for free online using Udemy, Freecodecamp, Youtube, Coursera, and Udacity, for example.

Basic of AI and ML are Python or R for Data Science, Statistics for Data Science, and Math for Data Science. Learn those.

√ What would you suggest I do in this instance?
Basic of AI and ML are Python or R for Data Science, Statistics for Data Science, and Math for Data Science. Start with those and have in mind that you want to learn to do projects, so find resources that have projects, without practical practices you won't do anything.

√ Could you also suggest some topics at the Masters and PhD level;
Look for existing issues or things that aren't being done well in your regions and see what you can do to solve or improve them. Then, using a credible database, publishers, and other sources in your subject of interest, do literature reviews. Read a lot of reports in your field of interest, search for knowledge gaps, and see how you might fill them. Make a list of potential solutions, narrow it down, then meet with responsible and knowledgeable supervisors to fine-tune your ideas.

√ What are the relevant skills I should be learning now considering my interest in going for PhD afterwards? .....thanks for always
Learn how to collect data, which types of data to acquire, how to analyze data using modern tools such as MAtplotlib, how to fine-tune data for better visualization, and how to conduct research and write publishable reports in respected journals. If you're interested in AI and machine learning, start with the basics.

Best wishes

Kudos prof, for the good work you're doing here sir.

I am a graduate of Biomedical Science ( clinical biochemistry). I would love to work on the last topic "Machine learning approaches toward personalized treatment of diabetes". I have worked on diabetes mellitus during my undergraduate days, but it's just on the biochemical parameters.

I am a bit versed in python programming, but just randomly into Machine Learning and AI.

I have reviewed some literature in regards to ML/AI in diabetes, but I would love if you can conceptualize the project sir.

Healthcare informatic/bioinformatics is a field i would love to specialise in the future and having publications here should seem right.

Thanks for consideration sir.
Healthcare bioinformatics is a large sector that recently has attracted the attention of entrepreneurs in industrialized countries, and the business is growing at an alarming rate. AI can be used in bioinformatics to aid clinical research and analysis, which can lead to the development of novel medications and vaccinations, disease diagnostics, and even pandemic forecasting. Wearable technology is a good illustration of how AI may be used with bioinformatics. Many types of wearable technology, such as fitness trackers and smart jewelry such as watches and rings, are already familiar to consumers, and they make personal use of the data collected.

I have reviewed some literature in regards to ML/AI in diabetes, but I would love if you can conceptualize the project sir.
Given your academic background and knowledge of Python, I believe this topic is a suitable fit for you. Take a look at some background material on the subject first.

There are a few basic requirements for each Machine Learning/AI project:

--- Data: You will need lots of medical data from at least 8000 diabetic patients. The more the data the better! The source of the data is important and you must also know what type of features are needed to build such a model.

----- Data Processing (cleaning and tunning): Learn how to clean the data

--- Training the data: Learn how to train the data

---Test and validate: the trained model will need to be exposed to unseen data to test and validate its performance.

--- Evaluate optimized model: You need to optimize the trained model with unseen data.

---Deploy the model: You will need to deploy your model mostly a user interface either web-based on a mobile app.

---Update deployed model: As new data comes in, it's advisable to keep updating the model.

This project is conceptualized as shown in this image below, I extracted it from this site:

https://blog.global.fujitsu.com/fgb/2019-09-27/how-can-ai-help-develop-personalized-treatment-for-diabetes/

Jesus!! prof Wip7 you are a blessing to our generation!!!

I am thrilled by 2, 3, 5 and 7. I am a master's student (biochemistry, FUTMINNA) .I have been observing your work here for over 18 months now.
I saw your previous journal on remediation of waste, and the other journal on biosensors.
Biochemistry is a fascinating field with numerous research opportunities. Weldone!

I am currently about to work on using nanoparticles to deliver drugs in diabetic induced rats. I hope to publish this work. I don't know if the journal accepts research on this?
Yes, you can publish any credible work relating to nanomaterials in the Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology (BJNANO).

BJNANO is a platinum open-access journal (submission fees are fully funded by the non-profit Beilstein-Institut, and all articles remain open access), publishing high-quality peer-reviewed articles that are archived and indexed in all major repositories, search engines and databases. You retain full copyright to your article according to a Creative Commons Attribution License agreement. BJNANO is SCIE journal indexed in WOS. See other metrics below.

Like I said I would love to work concurrently on any of the topics you mentioned. But the challenge I am predicting among others would be funding (as am self funding). Does any one know how to get grants for such work. I don't mind having an external supervisor to ensure credibility and transparency.

Also I am new to AI. Just a learning phyton now (halted because of school) and an intermediate in JavaScript.
You may get financing by joining international associations or societies in your field; the majority of them finance research that is deemed trustworthy. You might also approach pharmaceutical companies in your area by highlighting the possible benefits of your research.

Best wishes!

Machine learning is an exciting area that can currently be used in practically every situation. I believe that if you are dedicated and willing to learn and apply machine learning and AI to practical applications, you will be successful. You must first be computer literate, interested in machine learning, have a basic understanding of statistics, and be able to code. This statistics section is used for cleaning and preparing data for modelling. A little python or R programming will be required.

Recent Publication from our lab: on the Application of Machine learning for predicting solar air heater performance

Recently, concerted interests have been directed toward renewable energy conversion systems due to their potential in providing a sustainable future. Solar collectors are widely applied in various thermal equipment for the optimal and efficient utilization of solar energy. In this study, data from uncontrollable input variables were fed into an artificial neural network model to predict the efficiency of the optimized solar air collector, and data were collected over 1 year on the field.

This research illustrates the use of machine learning, artificial neural network to predict performance and to extract valuable information regarding the factors affecting the device.

Good morning prof.

Guess you are doing well?

Could you please enlighten me on this project topic.

Determining Path Loss Propagation Model using ANN.
To begin with, this topic is not properly framed. ANN cannot be used to determine "Path Loss Propagation." An artificial neural network (ANN) is a prediction tool that can only make predictions based on data that has been previously trained.

About the Topic:

An electromagnetic wave's power density decreases as it travels over space, which is known as path loss. Path loss is an important factor to consider while analyzing and designing a telecommunication system's link budget. In wireless communications and signal propagation, this word is frequently used.

Wireless communication is rapidly evolving, due to various technologies these days, resulting in a significant need for higher signal strength and network capacity. Accurate and reliable path loss models are critical for radio network coverage and signal interference predictions in order to achieve effective network architecture.

A wireless system's network performance and Quality of Service will suffer as a result of improper base station placement. As a result, developing an optimal path loss prediction model is beneficial for designing efficient and effective wireless communication systems.

That's where ANN comes into the picture of the above topic.

ANN models have proven to be more accurate than empirical models and easier to deploy than deterministic models. In addition, in rural, suburban, and urban propagation situations, ANN can be used for path loss forecasts.

To use ANN to make this prediction, you'll require a set of input variables, the majority of which will be field measurements. Some of the inputs could be "coordinates of positions, frequency, distance, building height, street width, population, antenna height, scattering angles, transmitter and receiver heights, frequency band etc"

Prediction with Artificial neural network

After you've gathered your data, you'll experiment with the number of hidden neurons, activation function, and training techniques to find the best neural network settings for predicting path loss. There is various/software tool to use the ANN with like Matlab. You may also, use other machine learning prediction models like support vector regression or decision tree and compare the prediction with your ANN results.

I hope that helps!

@pinkdamsel

So I was talking to one of my African friends who also happens to be a professor at one of the universities in north Cyprus, and his wife is a British woman who is originally from South America and finished her nursing degree in north Cyprus two years ago.

The wife is fluent in Turkish and works at a British hospital in north Cyprus as well as another private clinic. The KOLAN British hospital and the NEAR EAST hospital, according to the wife, employ a large number of foreign nurses and doctors.
TravelRe: North Cyprus: Part 2 by wip7(op): 1:19am On Oct 15, 2021
Pinkdamsel:
I appreciate your detailed response sir.

As long as the dependents can use OKTB, it's fine, that is just the information I seek as information is power. The costs will be duly handled.

Going forward, the reason why I asked the question about moving from biological or life sciences to nursing is because some schools in the UK actually admit students with these educational backgrounds or an entirely different background for msc nursing (yes I checked some schools). I assumed TRNC universities would admit too. I tried to check entry requirements for the program but the school's website did not have any comprehensive information about that, their entry requirements are more generic than specific.
Yes, there are various universities and colleges in the United Kingdom, the United States, and elsewhere that offer a Direct Entry MSN program that includes both BSN and MSN curricula. The core courses, hands-on lab, and clinical experience are all covered in this program. I'm not sure if there are any in Cyprus, but you can apply to find out.

Speaking of foundation courses, please do you have any idea if they will be done alongside the nursing program or they need to be completed first before progressing to the Masters program? Will appreciate if you have an idea about this sir.
To begin, it will be determined by the number of fundamental courses you are assigned and the university's structure. For example, if you have 20 foundational courses that you must complete before pursuing master courses, you must first complete the foundational courses. If the university allows it, you may be able to take fundamental courses alongside master's courses that are not prerequisites.

On a final note, if I learn Turkish for instance before my program elapses and I become fluent, is there a possibility of getting a nursing job there or even in Turkey because of my language proficiency? Because I feel probably the main issues with securing jobs as a foreigner is the language barrier.....my thoughts (I may be wrong and I am open to learning). Thanks .
Language barriers substantially influence work chances and several other immediate opportunities, based on my experience with various countries whose official language is not English. This is likewise the case in Cyprus. Learning the local language can help you integrate more quickly into the job market, but because Cyprus is a small island with a limited population, there aren't many medical or nursing jobs available. Despite the fact that people get sick in Cyprus, the number of sick or old persons in need of nursing care is a tiny percentage of the population compared to the United States and other countries. As I already stated, I have only seen a few foreigners at private hospitals in Cyprus, but the governmental institutions are mostly populated by locals.

Turkey has a considerably larger economy than Cyprus, as well as a much larger population and a slew of private hospitals, therefore I believe the odds of finding a nursing position for foreigners who are fluent in Turkish are much better there than in Cyprus right now.
TravelRe: North Cyprus: Part 2 by wip7(op): 4:59pm On Oct 14, 2021
Pinkdamsel:
Good day Mr wip and everyone on this platform. I greet you all.

Please, I want to ask if someone that intends using okay to board to enter TRNC can also get okay to board for dependants (spouse and kids) to come with them for their study period.
Yes but that will be expensive since OKTB is done on each traveling ticket. Also, since acceptance letter and payment receipt are needed for OKTB then you have to get a supporting document from the university to include those dependents.

Second, I want to confirm if a graduate of a biological science or life science course can take up an msc nursing in TRNC.
Considering the fact that nursing program is largely different from the above listed programs… largely it would be impossible/difficult to get MSC nursing, however, some universities may offer foundational courses.

What's the possibility of getting a nursing job after graduation there in cyprus? since nursing is a job with very high demand both n Nigeria and globally.

Thank you as you respond sir
The majority of hospitals in Cyprus use Turkish language and the large ones are governmental. So nearly 98% of current nurses are locals or Turkish. However, some private hospitals, I have seen some few foreigners.
