This job is showing all the signs of being a scam. First of all, why are we being asked to meet physically for a job that was clearly advertised as remote? In this digital age, any legitimate remote role should conduct interviews virtually—via Google Meet, Teams, or Zoom. The insistence on a physical meeting already raises red flags.

Secondly, why were we added to a WhatsApp group and addressed by a “coordinator” before we were even offered the job? No credible organization does that. A proper recruitment process doesn’t start with a group chat. It starts with an official offer and onboarding process—not random group messages.

Thirdly, the payment request is the biggest red flag of all. Initially, they said no payments were required. Yet suddenly, there’s a link directing us to pay for an notarization.No reputable company would ask candidates to pay money—especially not through informal channels. At most, they would direct you to verify your documents legally, perhaps through a court—not to an unknown person or payment platform.

And when you look into this company, you’ll find that the only review on the entire internet is from one person in nairaland and it was posted just last month, around the same time their LinkedIn page was created. How is that possible for a company that’s supposedly doing mass recruitment? There’s no background, no history, no credibility.

Let’s also be real about the numbers. They claim over 500 of us got this “financing” role through an NGO. But where’s the funding for that kind of scale? Who’s paying the salaries? And speaking of salary—$350 to $700 per week? That sounds too good to be true. In today’s economy, especially in Nigeria, that kind of pay for a supposedly entry-level, remote role is highly suspicious. Do you know how much that is in naira? It doesn’t add up.

Even the assessment process was questionable. Some say it was rigorous—it wasn’t. It was rushed and filled with irrelevant, frustrating questions. Recruitment wrapped up in less than two weeks. That’s not how proper hiring processes work.

Everything about this smells off. From the WhatsApp group to the payment link, the unrealistic pay, and the company’s non-existent digital presence—it’s all screaming scam. Please, let’s be vigilant and not fall for it.

First and foremost, if you want to discredit something, you dont twist the things that are true to suit your desire. There was no place one was asked to make any payment because I also went through the process. THE NOTARIZATION was only explained to you and you were asked to upload a norarized document. Where were you asked for payment?

The advert never said you will be paid weekly but monthly. Its even clearly stated on their site. Meanwhile how much is 350usd self? Thats about 560k monthly. Whats to good to be true about that amount?

I have checked their Instagram page @greenacy.org and linkedin page https://www.linkedin.com/company/greenacy. I dont see anything that does not show an online presence.

There is no major company now that does not use whatsapp as a means of communication.

Please dont just go about concluding on your own for everyone. If they now ask for payment afterwards, then you can now come out and do this. Lets always be positive in our thjnking first before thinking otherwise. It will help you in your future endeavours. Well I come in peace oo

It's not a better offer. Prices change per second every day in Nigeria due to this dollar thingy, especially imported items.

The seller probably bought it for X amount and sold it at Y price only to realise that if he sells it at Y price he won't be able to replace it because his sources have increased their prices.

However, the seller should have confirmed the current price before selling. So, the buyer must go with his item.

It's still the same, he will still sell at a higher price after he refunds this buyer's money. I believe he will offer a refund if he doesn't want to sell. That's what most sellers do and we have experienced same. Buy you goods and carry it away or atlases to one corner

The seller probably got a better offer while the buyer was away. He just wants the buyer to either pay or ask for a refund if the new price is not okay with him. I don't see any wrong doing. Buyer should ask for a refund if not happy

I suspect your remote job is online customer service where u wear headphones. If not, guy carry your laptop and choose any bar or lounge to work. Just buy soda or bottle water and be sipping while you work. Imagine opportunity people like me are looking for.

My story is going to be long and the experience is far from pleasant

I worked for Fouani NIgeria Limited, the customer service department.
The manager is Lebanese, most will think this is enough justification for the way he acts but all other deartments in the company(that I know of) all have Lebanese managers but their story is so different from ours aside from the general issue of not giving employment/appointment letters, most these complaints is peculiar to that department of the company

Our manager does not allow any form of interaction amongst worker as you can be terminated for turning your head in the office, as in say you just turn neck o. Someone was terminated for laughing after office hours, work don close o and baba say the guy laugh and the next day na termination straight. Your job security depends on his mood, as he might just decide to terminate you with the excuse of 'we dont want you anymore'

Approval of leave is at his mercy, I can remember a staff, although she was due for 1 week leave, this man denied her despite the fact that this lady was seriously ill, he made her come to work even with the drip connected to her body as he told her she will be terminated if she doesnt work. This lady fainted twice at work that day and had to choose her life by resigning.

This is just one of the many cases of staffs that were terminated because they were absent from work because of illness even after informing he resumed with a medical report after being unable to come to work for 2 days and in this man's word "sorry, you can go home and rest. You will see your salary at the end of the month" That was the end of it.

This man has made the work environment so toxic and it is not strange to see staffs crying after leaving his office as he talks to staffs as if Nigerians are lesser humans, he called a teamlead a slut and accused her of sleeping with her team members because she does not deduct staff break, he threatened Samiat and promised to destroy her because the young lady wanted to quit and go for her youth service.

This man makes it his office policy to to limit staffs restroom usage to 7 minutes, anything beyond this can get you break deductions, warning letters and even termination. Whereas he who sets the rules spends 30 minutes in the restroom (You and I know that no one can control nature).

A Muslim staff was terminated for dosing during ramadan(this man na muslim o, and he prays 5 times daily) and so many others that I can't mention all that have face similar cases on a daily basis. He employs today and terminate tomorrow with a reliable reasons. There is a post on nairaland as far back as 2020 about this man.

Work time is Monday to Saturday 7:50AM to 5:30PM with no visible compensation for working overtime instead he tells you he is doing you a favor and you will get as much as 5,000 deducted from your salary which is more than double of our daily income.

Staffs break are deducted x3 of the minutes they came late to work despite the fact that their salaries will be deducted for same reason. I heard they protested against that recently and the break deductions has been stopped and replaced with more salary deductions for being late 1 minute past the resumption time of 7:50am, not even a grace period of 10minutes.

I made a more detailed post some weeks back on this man, e no easy at all.

If you have an advice for the people still there and know of a way for these ill to be corrected, please reach out and drop your comments as every bit of info here has evidence to back it up

Come and start doing real estate business as part time and then with time resign. All those customers that come to your department, just keep storing the numbers of those you know can buy land and start reaching out to them. With time, you wont even be looking at your salary.

The image of the ID must be very clear and if possible International passport. If you dont have, try the NIN but it should be very clear amd easy to see all details. I had same issue amd when I submitted a copy of my International passport, it was resolved

The mechanic I took it to said the windshield has not been been replaced before, he poured more than a gallon of water on it to prove to me and I confirmed the issue isn't from the shield.
The panel beater I got now, declogged the pipes two days ago again immediately it rained today the problem sufficed.

wow, do u swim water on the road when it rains or your car is static and then you find water inside? if it's when u swim water that it occurs, that means there is a hole underneath the car, if it's static and you still find water even after declogging the pipes, then I still suspect that windshield. you may have to sit in the car when it's raining to observe the actual thing. Lastly, check if your AC water is leaking outside properly and not inside. you can check this yourself by checking if it's dripping from underneath the car while ON. maybe the hose got loose from the inside.

Once it rains,inside of the car is very dry but once I remove the footmat everywhere is soaked...

I bet it's from your windshield, check it yourself by splashing water continuously on your windshield and checking the inside. I bet your windshield was replaced and the guy didn't do it well. I suffered this same issue until I had to uninstall and reinstall it. I gave the guy a sound warning to use enough gum...The issue stopped.

A woman that i sometimes patronize left a kid to watch her shop. I wanted to buy rice. I ask him for the price because the price do flunctuate, which he said it is 100, no 50, no 20 naira. I shock, then the devil enter me and i said whether e no go sell 10. I told him to sell me 5cup of rice, after he measured and tied it, i gave him 100 and told him to take the remaining 50 and not to tell the woman so that she will not collect his 50 tip.

Kid was happy, i was happy, trader lose.

Now this evening, rice no let me eat, i am just thinking of going back to do restitution.

How do i go about it without the trader getting angry?

Go back to the shop and tell the woman you mistakenly gave her child N50 instead of the supposed amount out of haste. This act is not good at all
