Nowadays, a million naira cannot pay some people's house rent. It cannot buy some high end mobile phones. It cannot buy a 20 years old Toyota Corolla. It cannot buy a 17 years old Honda Civic.

1 million naira cannot start a good provision store. It can no longer rent and finish a good selfcon apartment. Naira is now very useless

- buy a house
- buy a decent car
- buy a decent landed property
- construct a proper building foundation
- setup a decent business
- self-fund a proper business idea from zero
- etc

So I realised there are actually Nigerian "millionaires" who can't afford most of the things I listed above (technically, anyone with atleast 1 million Naira is a millionaire, by definition)
So does this mean some of our millionaires here, compared to their counterparts in other countries, are actually considered broke?

There is hardly anything of value you can buy with 1m now, but you can buy a plot of land around Lagos outskirt or Ogun State if you are in the West. Forget about it for sometime, and watch the value rise.

But make sure it is situated around a place with potential for development in the nearest future. And visit the place and cut the grass from time to time, fence it if possible, just make sure you have something going on there.

I disagree with you. You can do all the above listed with 1m if you prosper at your own level.
Except no. 1.

You can do others conveniently if you are not comparing yourself and if you're at the right location befitting your status. Even 1m is too much for foundation of a simple 3 bedroom flat. Everybody is not living in the big cities o. I hope you know Sha.

You are minding them. 1m is not what it used to be.
Even in Ibadan you might struggle to find quality lands for that price.

Unless you plan to buy house inside one Bush. Ikorodu outskirts, Obasanjo farms, Moniya, etc and you will have to watch because the titles on those lands are not good. Government or families can come for their thing.

Summary is everybody should go and hustle for money miss road kind of money if you want to invest in real estate.

That one na money? That's about $1,300 now, come on. Remember we actually buy everything from abroad.

In Zimbabwe at some point someone could take a million of their money to clean up after toilet, so Nigeria still has some ways to go before that.

Yet our maximum currency note is ₦1,000 as "economist" Dele Momodu fought to prevent Jonathan government from printing 5k notes.

Spending power of the Nigerian Naira is nothing to be happy about yet the clueless people at the helm of affairs wants to go cashless

Depends on your preferred locality, you can still buy land with 1m in some part of Nigeria.

If he can think properly, that 1m can get him plots of land if not even acre in a surbub area (I'm into Real Estate so I know this very well) which can in no distance time turn to a massive profit .

1m can get some good Nigeria used car , you can achieve building foundation though that's depends on your kind of building anyway. Even with our dying economy here, you can do a whole lot with 1m , just sit down and think.
