helinues:It is same with most Yorubas. We understand that religion is private worship and relationship with our respective spirituality that we must not allow affect other aspects of life. The North is worst in that regard because they want Islam central to everything. I personally believe Nigeria is sitting on a keg of gunpowder because of the North. We will be in serious trouble if we all don't begin to see it is as our responsibility to insist that Northerners, in so far as they wish to be part of the secular nation of Nigeria, must embrace secularism which should apply to all regions of Nigeria. No exception. |
Brenbentondiaz:Indeed Baba. Let us call a spade a spade. It is at times like this Nigeria must give credit to those they take for granted I.e Yorubas who, arguably and along with the SS, are the most exemplary valuable components of our nation today while those who continue to misbehave with impunity, and threatening the existence of Nigeria, remain insistent they are best and must be put in charge of Nigeria and all others. |
AMINDA:Atiku's deceptive and manipulative number one fanboy is at it again. You tout your master as best and fittest President material. Yet, when are you going to direct him to take charge and play a part in finding solutions to insecurity his ethnic group has foisted on the North and Nigeria as a whole? Did SW leaders need to have one of their own as President before they led by example to tackle Fulani terror circa 2020 to 2021 with their uncompromising fight against Malami to birth Amotekun that is today the best complementary regional security force to the NPF? Atiku failed Deborah, avoids taking responsibility for the problems Northerners have caused themselves and continues to attack Tinubu daily while failing to advocate a single solution for addressing the horrible insecurity his people have caused Nigeria. His style has always been to demand the Presidency as a precursor for him being able to address problems. Whereas Tinubu has never done that and has been the perfect example of a proper leader in office (as Governor) and out of office ( post 2007) who achieved a lot and delivered spectacular solutions, especially per Insecurity, without Presidential power. No one is fooled by your attempt to detract from Atiku's natural incompetence and proven lack of leadership capacity with your constant attempt to undermine the current government in power. You are wasting your own time and life with the nonsense you put up here daily that will not prevent Tinubu gaining a second time and will certainly never help Atiku become President. Let him instead focus on delivering peace and security for his troubled region , he does not need the Presidency to achieve , so he may at least leave the world with a legacy of leadership goodness. |
Wallade:I agree with the bolded. His actions are not rational, logical or sensible. |
gidgiddy:Ask Igbos and Fulanis that silly question. Not a Yoruba man whose regions is an example of the few geographical spaces in Nigeria, to include the SS, with people doing the right thing by Nigeria while you lot and Northerners continue to irresponsibly push for the destruction of our nation. If Nigeria is full of pragmatic and critical-thinking folks then they would have long named and shamed you lot and Fulanis so that you fix up and stop being a menace to an entire nation same as a thief bothering a village will be named, shamed and disgraced. |
SeverusSnape:Apart from the Reverend, with the collar, you can tell the religion of everyone in the picture by their looks alone? This is why many insist you guys are very intolerant and not much different to the jihadist lot. |
Racoon:Learn to be precise and factually correct with talk. It is mainly the North and SE that has "terrorist running amok". People of both region should work harder and more sincerely to find solutions for their self-inflicted terrorism woes rather than hide behind "Nigeria is terrorised" excuses. Like Atiku and Obi who wish to be President, and attack Tinubu daily over insecurity, yet we don't see either organising leaders in their region to find solutions to terror and bandit-linked insecurity in the North and SE. |
SpaceX:Precisely. The guys obsession with attention-seeking and remaining visible is nauseating. |
This is why the Nigerian electorate, with their votes, have shown they have no respect for attention-seeking, immature, unserious and unpresidential Sowore. Why should a Nation's Presidential candidate publicly concern himself with the martial affair of individuals let alone take side in such? |
Ttalk:Repellent and shameless thievery bro. Out of 230 million people, how many are actually religiously tolerant? Are all Nigerians now Yoruba? Claiming Nigeria is the most religiously tolerant nation in the world, because of the exemplary conduct of Yorubas, is a sick joke considering the same nation host regions where poor Deborah, a Christian, was brutally murdered for blasphemy. Let OP go and blashpheme against Islam in the NW and NE na since, according to him, Nigeria is the most religiously tolerant nation in the world This thread is very distasteful. Rather than using the laudable conduct of Yoruba to whitewash the sordid reality of Nigeria, we should be fighting to improve the hideous and unacceptable religious intolerance of several regions and people of Nigeria. Religious tolerance is most exemplified by the absence of religion in public life and the acceptance religion is private worship. This is not the case with North, the most populous region of Nigeria, with 12 States officially under Sharia law in a supposedly secular nation. |
Rubbish. Trying to ascribe the character of one ethnic group of a nation, that contrast starkly with that of many others, is intellectually dishonest and deceitful. Igbos are not religiously tolerant neither are Northerners who are even far worse and back blasphemy killing which is as crudely intolerant and hideous as any group of people can be. Was Deborah, a Christian, not killed gruesomely by Moslems for blasphemy with most Northerners, covertly or overtly, supporting the actions of her killers? You cannot use the exemplary religious tolerance of a people, circa 40 million in population, I e Yorubas, as definitive of the character of a nation with 230 million people. As a whole, Nigeria is generally a religiously intolerant nation. Take the four major ethnic groups for example. I.e Yorubas, Igbos, Hausa and Fulanis. Who can honestly say any, aside the Yorubas, are religiously tolerant observing the ways they all live in their traditional domain? |
shortgun:Nnamdi Kanu is a terrorist. His official announcement of criminal guilt is a few days away. It makes sense that lawless elements supportive of a criminal and terrorist, and insisting on his "innocence", are same people most passionately behind the unprofessional, ignorant and disgraceful Yarima who would have been sacked instantly if a member of the Ghanaian armed forces talk less of that of a developed nation. |
Felimax:Unfortunately for people like you, the reality of life is that those who lead and shape society learn lessons from every development. This is why our legislators, over this development, and almost instantly, are rightly working to introduce a law that will make it crystal clear no member of the Nigerians armed forces should prevent a Nigeria public administrator, like a Governor or Minister, from performing their official duty on behalf of the Federal republic of Nigerian The ability to reason critically , to see what matters most to the efficient running of a geographical space, is why some are leaders whereas most, like you, should never be. |
Baronthecelebri:Lol. Start giving him all of your monthly salary na. While at it, maybe you and others Yarima hero worshippers should lobby Tinubu to award him the Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR) for his unprofessional and disgraceful actions I am sure non-Nigerians are using to mock our 'maigaurd" armed forces. |
Typing:He is only a hero to unexposed and lawless people who believe standing up to Wike they hate, even when such is illegal, makes Yarima man of the year. Hate Wike all you want but he has a right to do his job and Yarima has no right whatsoever to prevent him from doing that based on the order of his superior. This is a reality that has even been established with several previous court judgement (like the two cited below) that shows ignorant folks like you are a danger to Nigeria and yourself. https://businessday.ng/features/article/when-two-authorities-squabble-breaking-down-the-legality-of-the-wike-yerima-clash/ Soldiers |
Biodun556:Well-said. What is most pathetic and very scary is that many Nigerian adults lack the commonsense to discern the bolded in your post. Nigeria, for those who are exposed, is too militarised. Members of the armed forces are not seen publicly in civilised nations of the world except when needed. In Nigeria they strut around publicly in uniform acting like Gods and engaging unprofessionally in issues beyond their jurisdiction. This development is a clarion call for the reform of our unprofessional armed forces. |
tunde1200:This is the problem. They have transferred hatred for Wike to support for unprofessional demons in our military, badly in need of attitudinal change, who view all of us as "bloody civilians" they are superior to. Imagine a power-drunk illiterate in the Army thinking himself superior to a world class professor he can whip and humiliate in public merely because he wears a uniform. Is this not the fundamental "might is right" mentality engulfing Nigeria that is today behind terrorism, banditry etal and leading every bully and potential serial killer with a gun to believe themselves superior to others? The Nigerian armed forces need more professionalism urgently. |
tunde1200:He is seriously irritating. There is no Nigerian with exposure beyond Nigeria, even if it is only Ghana or Kenya they have experience of, who will not confess Nigerian military, even if a decent and brave fighting force, is still grossly incompetent and unprofessional when it comes to recognition of the hierarchy of command and obedience. I have visited at least 30 nations of the world in Africa, Asia, South America and North America. Canada is probably the only prominent nation of the world I am yet to set foot in. I resent the Nigerian military especially because nowhere else have I seen the supremacists militarised culture present in Nigeria in all the nations of the world I have visited . Mind you, this excludes nations worse than Nigeria like Mali, Niger Republic, Sudan, Somalia, Afghanistan , Iraq , Libya etal commonsense tells me to stay away from. The day Soldier beats and strip him publicly, as they did that woman years ago in Lagos , caught on video, is the moment that misguided poster will understand why the Nigerian armed forces need to be made to understand they are not a law and culture to themselves superior to us all. Look at the garbage below. That lady being flogged should not be having that done to her by anyone. Even if she has committed a criminal offence, it is the NPF that should use force to subdued and arrest her. Never any member of the Nigeria armed forces who should only make citizens arrest. Where is this seen in civilised nations of the world? That poster you responded to is just a military fanboy and an unexposed individual. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGtb6kGugGE?si=rezMqXur9KARJFI0 |
Biodun556:The one Party State complaint is that of losers similar to a dull man cursing suave and charismatic men he keeps losing all his wives and girlfriends to. Which leader of the PDP in elective office, whether as a Governor or legislator, can see even a tiny semblance of hope and leadership structure he can believe in and work for? Instead many are jumping ship because they now understand that use-and-dump Atiku has rubbished and destroyed PDP beyond repair when they should have resisted him and his Fulani hegemonists on principles. Too late to cry over split milk now. It is natural, giving his decades-long history as a political leaders, for Tinubu to appear a Party boss who can improve the career of PDP leader who now wish to flee a hopeless and sinking ship. |
AMINDA:Lol. You are becoming more subdued lately. Eyes don dey clear ? Jagaban is unstoppable. Know that and know tranquility. 😎 |
PDP is finished. Thanks to Atiku. Those who accepted the dollars 'poisoned chalice' he offered in 2022, to truncate the Party beyond repair, should hide their face in shame. |
TooMuchStuff:They are clowns. This is nothing other than noise to remove a performing FCT Minister who has put a stop to the crude sharing of the choicest land and properties of Abuja that Northerns leaders ,at all levels, believe is their right to have total control over. They want Wike gone to be replaced with a Fulani who can restore their 'owners right'. |
DiarisGodoo:It is the prerogative of Nigerians to hate Wike. Yet it is never good for an adult to be incapable of calling right or wrong precisely that because Wike, or anyone else they hate, is involved in a matter. Yes hate Wike all you like. He is a performer doing great and transformational things for his constituency I don't even know if you and many who hate him blindly are part of as Abuja dwellers. It is the disgraceful Yerima who is the bigger embarrassment to our armed forces and a laughing stock to his compatriot worldwide who will be amused at his childish unprofessionalism and eagerness to be used as a glorified bouncer, by a retired CDS for a private property not related to the protection of the territorial integrity of his country. Wike is the FCT Minister doing his job. You need to remember that if a responsible and well-meaning adult. |
DiarisGodoo:The bolded is legitimate argument but many can learn from everything and everyone. I am not backing everything about the North. In fact I acknowledge the bolded in your post and consider it a huge problem capable of violently fracturing Nigeria for good. Yet, as an individual who recognises and utilises the principle of stoicism, i.e the concept that the highest good is based on knowledge and how to use it, I can respect and relate with internalisation of family problems Northerners prefer. Regardless of their reasons for doing so. Such is always better than going public in a world where many do not genuinely care about your issues and mainly use it to feel good about themselves. Best to focus on search for comprehensive solutions than grant the world audience over your real and painful problems many will then use to satisfy their maladjusted lives and issues rather than proffer solutions for you.
|
DiarisGodoo:Not my place to answer that question. The bigger and more societally relevant question should be "why is it that adult Nigerians are prone to letting their sentiments and hatred of others blind them to seeing what is in the best long term interest of society?" You hate Wike means it is okay, as an adult, to support abuse of power by the military against superior civilian authority in an elective democracy? Where is that done in the civilised world? Perhaps when the Army or other armed forces personnel of Nigeria strip you of dignity, as done to the lady below, you will understand things need to change. Who do the army thing they are to be doing what is shown below to a civilian? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGtb6kGugGE?si=rezMqXur9KARJFI0 |
Richtaiwo:You are the one making empty noise. Like I said several times, you are not exposed. That is the problem. You are merely another Nigerian who wishes to use personal prejudices and sentiments to reach wrong and illegal conclusions. |
Richtaiwo:The bolded, with all due respect, shows again that you are ignorant and unexposed. Wike has the right to establish his authority and state to Yerima he is demanding access to do his job because he is acting with the official backing and authority of Mr.President. Mr.President is the commander-in-chief of the Nigerian armed forces. He is therefore the automatic and constitutionally authoritative boss of whoever gave Yerima the duty of being a glorified maigaurd over a plot of land. Meaning it is Yerima who must make a call to superiors to establish this. The onus of establishing right to access the property should not fall on Wike. He should arrive and do his job once he has stated the legality of his capacity to do that job. It is for Yerima to verify the authority of Wike and not foe the FCT Ministwr to be making calls up and down. That is how it will/muat happen in all civilised nations of the world. You only speak as you do because you lack exposure leading you to believe the wrongful interpretation and demand of "Wike should have called Yerima's superior" by Badaru, Matawalle, Buratai etal who are all Northerners with the traditional and wrong mindset the military is superior to civilian authority because they carry weapons and are approved to take life. Of course moat Northern leaders, per traditional mindset of subjugation of their people, will argue a "bloody civilian" Minister, even when acting on the supreme authority of the President, should be the one phoning around to gain approval to do his job like a boy-boy to Yerima whose only braggart and ignorant demeanour comes from the power he believes the uniform he wears gives him as so many unprofessional members of our armed forces today similarly believe It is Yerima, once Wike cites his legal power as FCT Minister to enter and inspect any premise in Abuja, even if done rudely, who must immediately seek clarification whether the Minister should be given access to do his job. Wike can of course make a call but he should not have to do so and all arguing he should are Northerners with miliarised mentality plus their Southern supporters who dislike Wike or are fanboys of the irresponsibly god-like powers the Nigerian armed forces enjoy. All Nigerians who are exposed, and have seen the conduct of armed forces of of other nations, know the "above all authority" mindset of our armed forces, where they behave as if we civilians are below them and cannot command them even when mandated to do so by the rule of law, must be whittled down. To a considerabe extent what obtains now, as the Wike V Yerima saga exposed, must be reformed quickly and aggressively to pave way for a best global practices Nigerian armed forces that understands it can be responsible to superiors in their rank but must defer to civilian authority and rule of law always that takes precendence over their military bosses in an elective democracy. That plot Wike viaited was not a site of war or anything to do with protection of the territorial integrity of Nigeria. Wike attended to do his job over an administrative and civic matter he has full jurisdiction over. Yerima and his Northern backers, who are leaders in Nigeria, are the one's in the wrong same as how Bala Mohammed argued Fulani herdsmen are justified carryinf Ak47 for protection whereas Southern leaders reminded him the Nigerian firearm laws forbids that. |
adamkkk:This is a blatant and ignorant lie. If an Army General in the UK tells his junior officer to enter the premises of a civilian and retrieve a motor bike stolen from his son, as will and does happen in Nigeria, The junior officer will simply say "Sir, this is a matter for the polices with all due respect ". This garbage some of you are pushing that junior members of the armed forces are obligated to obey all orders of their superior, especially if illegal, shows you are not exposed, informed or even law abiding. There is even court rulings (see the section in bold red font below) in Nigeria that proves you are blatantly wrong, ignorant, misinformed and perhaps a fan boy of the unprofessional actions of the Nigerian armed forces every Nigerian is duty-bound to condemn if we want a highly professional and diligent armed forces we can be proud of. https://businessday.ng/features/article/when-two-authorities-squabble-breaking-down-the-legality-of-the-wike-yerima-clash/ Soldiers |
kokoA:Great question to ask Nigerians who will say they want a nation as developed as the USA, UK, France etal yet they support and endorse retrogressive practices those nations shed perhaps even as far back as a hundred years ago. We have no shame that many adults in Nigeria, because of hatred of Wike, are backing abuse of power by our armed forces plus condemnable unprofessionalism and ignorance of this Yerima many soldiers worldwide will use to conclude the Nigerian armed forces is a horrid joke. We are merely showing the world how ignorant and backwards we are. Next minute we will begin crying if Ghanaians or Kenyans mock us that our armed forces personnel are glorified maiguard posted outside the private and empty plots of land of their retired bosses who should have no official power to deploy them in that capacity anyway. Retired CDS is lawless. An abuser of his former office and power + Junior officially blindly and ignorantly following illegal order like an unthinking robot = unprofessional armed forces, from top to bottom, Nigerians should be condemning if they truly understand what is best for them regardless of deep hatred for Wike. The legislative arm should not stop here. Efforts should ne made to create a baracks-based Armed forces that is not seen publicly unless needed for issues concerning the territorial integrity of Nigeria as is the case with many professional armed forces of serious nations wordlwide. What is needed is a considerable increment in well-trained and well-rewarded police officers to combat crime . Members of our armed forces should be forced to know their places and respect boundaries as all their professional compatriots worldwide automatically do. |
DelilahMakinde:I can agree with the bolded, backed by focus on specific areas, in the spirit of sanitising the public administration of Nigerian ociety. |
