Tragic... The smaller the plane, the less reliable it is. He was working on obtaining his flying license... I have never been a fan of private individuals flying small leisure planes. Aviation is too risky to be a pastime

Nigerians are only interested in their tribes and religions. Nothing concern dem with America exposing anything. Even if it becomes sufficiently clear the certificate was forged oridentity not what was claimed, it makes no difference to Nigerians. Tribal hatred supercedes everything in Nigeria. Nothing will come out of all these

I think the issue is about fixing the larger society. This cycle of corrupt police trying to extort youths because of the prevalence of cybercrime will greatly reduce if we have a society that works.
But unfortunately, in Nigeria, tribal divisions won't allow us to have a society that works.
So the vicious cycle continues

The jubilation expressed here by the those commenting above isn't because the declared candidate will work better nor because the sacked one is not working. In fact, they don't know either candidate. The jubilation is strictly about tribal hate.

Our politicians are the luckiest in the world. They know they don't need to work for the masses, because the masses are not interested in that. What the masses of Nigeria want are tribal and religious triumphs.
So they feed them full dose.
The masses don't care if they starve, die or their kid's futures mortgaged, what matters is tribal pride.
Is the black man not a sub-human like this?

Sangotedo to Abraham Adesanya is a nightmare. If you work at VI, you have to leave at 4am. Else, you will spend 3hrs just at a spot of less than 1km i.e from Etiosa Secretariat to Ogidan...
Culture / Re: Dallas Has Officially Declared October 7, 2023 As Yoruba Festival Day by wonder233: 2:59pm On Sep 28, 2023
White men know the things that gets Africans: tribal pride, religion, etc... So they deliberately gorge and flatter them with those things while they (the whites) focus on what really matters.
So many blacks will feel so honoured with this move, while the banters will commence about whose ethnic group have the bragging rights... The hate they feel for themselves will deepen and it will collectively cost them all that really matters like economic prosperity, socio-political stability, etc..
Sometimes, it is difficult not to see Africans as subhumans...

Thanks for sharing and inspiring someone out there to fight back for their lives.
Berankis:

You are very right! Let me share a little first hand experience of the trying jobless days as a young Graduate. I got a small job in Abeokuta (from Lagos), I had no accomodation, so I called a female cousin of mine for help, who was then a student with a room. Because she is female I didn't always stay in the room with her, I would just sit few houses away in front of a closed shop. I never knew I was been observed by residents in the area until there was a robbery somewhere around one night and the next day, I still went for my routine sit-out, all of a sudden, the whole community gathered numbering 30 or more, they came to arrest me. I practically fought with them all, I just didn't care as I was going through a lot already, but robbery was not one of it. It was my resilience and determination to take on all of them that led to my eventual release. They comprised, when the realized I would not calm down, I was very angry and very contentious. I blasted all of them and I clearly expressed myself both in Yoruba and English. They eventually resorted taking me to the Baale instead of Police Station that night. We dragged the issue from evening till night 6-10pm before I was finally let go and my cousin also had the same fighting spirit and joined in the battle to rescue me. It was not funny at all. But I learnt to always fight back no matter what. Don't just allow yourself to be molested, injured or killed for doing nothing wrong!

lol okay sir. I hope your life is better than all HND graduate.

I guess your former president buhari had a first class degree in law from the University of kastina.

I understand your point but this should be directed to the federal government to scrap Polytechnics and make them offer B.Tech just like what the UK did in the 80s

You shouldn't laugh the people obtaining ND or HND results i guess life happened to them.

I lived here in LA for over 8 years, i didn't even attend any tertiary institution in Nigeria but now I've a degree here in Cali

I must tell you Nigeria and Africa is a shithole compared to los Angeles but i would never laugh the people i can only insult the politicians do you know why because after their tenure they run to the western world. So be considerate when addressing HND graduates. Nigeria is already hard, you can push many to depression with your laugh.

I'm tired of this useless forum it's filled with tribal bigots and unintelligent kids like you. Some of us here just want to laugh and have nostalgia about our birth country so be reasonable

Your last line shows how senseless you are. Because nobody would intentionally put themselves in that situation.
We are talking about what to do in a situation that arises without your anticipation slowpoke!
Let me give you an example, I was driving home from work one evening, just by one Enyo filling station, a bike man on high speed crashed into my car, me that was moving very slowly, immediately, a mob gathered on me, majority didn't even see what happened. I brought out my jack, wheel spanner and was swinging it wildly telling them I did nothing wrong but if they insisted on attacking me, I'll take like 3 or 4 with me to the great beyond.
They backed out, nobody wanted to be the 3 or 4...it t bought me time, one policeman came and said he saw the accident when it happened that the bike man was at fault, that was how we resolved everything
stuffs2002:

Nonsense... How many people do you want to fight back in a mob.

I have seen a video of a man being beaten by a mob and he tried to fight back but he was mercilessly beaten to a pulp.

The best advice is to never put yourself in a situation where you would never have to fight back.

Stay away from other people's children and properties, learn to mind your business.

One of the things that can save you when attacked by a mob over false accusation is your determination to physically fight back. Throw wild punches, grab anything to also harm anyone coming for you while yelling your innocence, muster all the anger you have inside of you, tell yourself your life is worth fighting for, they will stop and listen. Don't just curl up and wallow in self pity, FIGHT!
A mob interprets not fighting back as an admission of guilt. So fight!

It is not about saying what people would like to hear. Be practical.
Write out what love can do that hate cannot do in opposite? Is it the ultimate sacrifice which is human lives? Isn't it as people can sacrifice their lives for love that others can take it out of hate?
What exactly are you saying? Or you just want likes by rehashing overused clichés?
sammirano3:

Wrong wrong and wrong. Love is 100 times powerful than hate, love is the most powerful force in the world. Love conquers hate time and again. Love is the greatest of all.
Politics / Re: These Pictures Tell A Lot As VP Shettima Appoints Ahmed Datti's Brother As SSA by wonder233: 10:21pm On Sep 18, 2023
Love and Hate are two equal forces, just opposites.
Their powers are exactly the same.
The way love will make a person do the unthinkable is exactly the same way hate will make the person do the same.
The way love will make a person do something that defies logic is exactly same way hate will.

Politics is supposed to be a process whereby people ensure they get the best of their welfare out of people called politicians. But read the top comments on this thread for example, they are all about vile hate for an ethnic group.
The commenters don't care whether they face economic hardship, insecurity, bleak futures for their generations unborn... All they are motivated by is the hatred for an ethnic group. They really don't need the politicians to do anything for them, all they need is anything that remotely points to triumph against that hated ethnic group.
None of them knows what the position the man was appointed to translates to in tangible terms for their own lives, they don't care, that is not what matters... It is the hate for an ethnic group...
Same way a parent can die for their kids out of love is same way they can die for this hate...
So many sub-humans occupying a geographical space..

Crime / Sit At Home Has Ended In The South East Says Coas by wonder233: 8:05am On Sep 13, 2023
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has said the sit-at-home order enforced by the Indigenous People of Biafra across the South-East states has ended.

IPOB in August 2021 commenced the sit-at-home order to demand the release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, from prison.

The order impacted the economy in the region and resulted in the loss of lives and properties of residents in the South-East.
Speaking at the COAS combined second and third quarters conference in Abuja on Tuesday, Lagbaja said the menace ended as a result of the heightened efforts of his men and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

He said, “We have equally heightened our efforts in containing criminalities perpetrated in the South East Region by the Indigenous People of Biafra and Eastern Security Network. Through Operation Udo Ka, our troops have, in collaboration with other relevant stakeholders, put an end to the infamous sit-at-home order that has almost crippled socio-economic activities in the Region. “Law-abiding citizens of the Region now go about their businesses and everyday life. Similarly, our joint efforts with various government agencies have quelled attempts by criminals to disrupt economic activities in the South West Region.”

The everyone attesting to it are simply reinforcing the fictitious sensationalism someone put out there. That fight ended without anyone sustaining any serious injury. That is an eye witness account
edogu:

I wasn't there when the incident took place. My conclusion like I pointed out earlier was based on someone else's account of which everyone who commented on his post attested to.

I dont know if you actually watched the video but I did and believe me it was terrible. The two parties fought with chairs and every other thing they can lay their hands on.

The end part of the narrative is fictitious, nobody died. It wasn't even close to that. My coursemate stays on that street, they were the ones that eventually went to separate the fight. No serious injuries, the blood
you see were just from surface bruises.
edogu:
I remember reading about this incident from someone's page on Facebook. It's an old video depicting an incident that took place during the covid-19 sit-at- home in Onitsha in 2020.

According to the gist, wife A and wife B, were cussing each other. Wife A insulted Wife B using her personal issues with her husband. One of which is her ( Wife B) regular fight with her husband.

The husband of wife B, angered by that insult, moved to beat up wife A.

The husband of wife A in return made a move to also defend his wife and that was how the whole fight issue started.

At the beginning, the members of that compound, made every effort to separate them but seeing their determination to keep up with the fight allowed them to fight on.

They fought each other with every weapon they could lay their hands on. By the time the whole fight was over, the two men were brutally injured.

While rushing them to the hospital, one died on his way while the other died at the hospital.

The essence of the narration was for men to be careful on how they dabble into women's issues.

Romance / Re: Religious Differences In Marriage by wonder233: 7:05am On Sep 03, 2023
Fanatic, go and sit down. If Almighty Allah desires everyone to be of one religion, He would have made it so. If He also desires that people of different religions should not mix, He would also have made it so.
You fanatics are so passionate about your religion and not about your creator. You serve your religion and not your creator. If you were not born in the part of the country you were born in, you won't be in the religion you profess currently, and like others, you are only passionately reinforcing what you came to meet. You didn't think for yourself. Do you think a muslim and a christian can get to meet and want to get married if Allah did not allow it to happen? Do you think anything hapens coincidentally in this world? Anything that happens is Allah's will, it may not make sense to you as a mere human, and it doesn't have to. You just say "Allahu Allam" and move on.
Reminderz:

....
I will speak to you from an Islamic point of view... generally speaking, there are many genuine reasons why Islam frowns on such marriages... unless she converted to your religion, then Islam frowns at marrying an unbeliever in the Deen... and it's quite a good reason as well...

supposedly you died before her, all your kids will revert back to her religion, and in the sight of your Lord, this is a grave misconduct , all this i love you, she loves you won't save you... when you're choosing a partner, you're not only choosing for yourself, but for your kids and their future...

even if God spare your life, your kids might end up confused and might later revert back to her own religion, and this might break your heart..children mostly generally incline themselves to what their women follows, this is why you should be very careful who you choose to be your wife.. you might not be the one who takes the Deen seriously, but if you fear for your own future and theirs, you would fear for the outcome... that's if you're truly God fearing or you fear His wrath.. but if you're one of those claiming woke muslims, then I have nothing to say to you... and since your wife is not inclined towards your religion, do you know the outcome and consequences when it comes to willing or sharing property when you're no longer on this earth?

you're one of the men who thinks emotionally, you're not the first person to fall in love and won't be the last.... some of the ones greater than your love ended in divorce, so have you thought of this possibility and the effects it will have on your kids?? or na still I love you, she love me too?? now you seems blinded by love, all this will seem like nonsense to you, but e go soon clear for your eyes...

from your story, it seems you guys still have issues on which religion your kids should themselves adapt to, this is just the beginning of the problem, that love go soon clear for your eyes when you're asked to account for that decision you took years back... maybe not in this life, but in the next...

even if you're a idol worshipper, find another idol worshipper to marry or someone who's ready to convert to what you believe in... when it comes to marriage, leave emotions out of it and think logically before you dive in... love is not what sustain marriages... the risks is much greater than the illusions of enjoyment in it... find someone who aligns with your interests and beliefs for your own peace of mind and for the future of your kids...

apart from religion, marry someone who aligns with your interests and dreams... even if it's the person occupation... if you know your wife is an actress, then you should all the things involved in being an actress, don't come out crying when she starts kissing random people on screen and eventually cheat on you and make you father another man's kids... religion is not the only thing that should be taken seriously, there are many other things as well, marriage is not a joke... it's better to be single than dive into marriage while leaving your brain behind... love won't save you when problem arrives... love is just the emotion to attract people to each other, not the emotion needed for a successful relationship, and the thing is that most people can't differentiate between love and lust, and that will be the cause of their downfall...
