Not surprisingly though, the protest is aimed at the current president of the country His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari.

Security operatives suspected to be from the Department of State Security (DSS) have arrested a former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore.

Sowore, who is also the publisher of SaharaReporters, was arrested early Saturday.

The publisher posted a distress tweet around 1:25 am, saying “DSS invades Sowore’s.”

He also tweeted “Ja p” apparently indicating that his phone must have been seized while trying to raise the alarm about his arrest.

An associate confirmed the publisher was arrested at his apartment and his phone collected.

The arrest is believed to be connected to the #RevolutionNow protests which is set to commence nationwide on August 5.

Sowore was the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress during the 2019 election.

Reno Omokri has fired shots at the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God RCCG, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, who has called on Nigerians to pray for five pastors of his church who were abducted while on their way to the church's Ministers' Conference yesterday August 1st.

Pastor Adeboye who announced the abduction of the clergymen at the church's camp ground along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway today Friday August 2nd, called for prayers for the abducted Pastors to regain their freedom.

Reacting to Adeboye's comment, Reno in a post on his IG page, said if Adeboye had spoken up when other Nigerians were abducted, maybe his clergyemn would not have been abducted. He made particular reference to Leah Sharibu whom he said Adeboye has never spoken publicly about.

Five ministers of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) have been abducted on their way to attend the church’s Ministers’ Conference in Lagos.

The General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye announced the abduction on Friday while giving a talk at the Redeemed Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Okorie, Thursday said that Nigeria would not progress until
an Igbo becomes president.
Okorie who made this known while briefing pressmen on
the forthcoming Igbo world Christian summit slated on 13th
-16th of August at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu
opined that the summit is to unite the Igbo land and return
it to the landmark initiated by the missionaries.
He disclosed that the summit was organised by CAIM in
collaboration with University of Leadership and Sound
Doctrine, ULS, with a theme; “In the Days of His Power” to
bring the Christian together to pray for the liberation of Igbo
land.

It has been reported that the APC had suspended house of representative member representing Kiru and Bebeji From Kano State, Abdulmumin Jibrin.

The suspension was said to be because the party alleges that Jibrin was involved in anti-party activities.

And is going to last for 1 year.

While responding the APC, Jibrin said he is going to open the can of worms on how they rigged Kano Election if the party dare him.
