US visa officers are not much interested in "invitation letter."
You must prove that you will return home after your visit with strong ties to home.
Then your finances must cover the trip.
Ties are Job, Family, Landed property.

She will abandon a 2yr old baby which proves how desperate she is to get a visa.
What is so important in the visit that she can abandon a very young child?

The visa officer will wonder what she really wants to do and suspect immigration or overstay.

The visa officer will need to see very strong reasons to be convinced.

It would take a miracle for you to get a working visa.
No such thing as a visa for you to go there unemployed and hussle.
You must find a skilled job first with a company ready to sponsor your visa.

Do they bother with bank statements? Add all of your income in a month and that is how much you earn in a month...keep in mind that you should be able to back it up.

The way most people show evidence is a bank statement.

They may not ask for it, but if they do you should be ready for them.

@justwise, please house I applied for refund after withdrawing from a UK Uni at the point of booking my appointment after meeting all requirements from school and the UK tier 4 visa. I lost someone close to me so I had to change my post study to Canada. Now the school said their normal policy is not to refund me but in exceptional case of loss of someone, they would need the death certificate before my refund can be authorised. Is this normal please? Do I have to go through that procedure?

If that is what the school say then you must follow their system.
Never mind what other schools do, you applied to that school and must accept their conditions.

Whatever income you declare you must be able to show evidence of where it came from.
Bank account statements are one way to do this.

Have everything organised so that you can find things instantly and are not fumbling

It is a 2 years work permit visa. It is through an agent. Though, what I discussed with him was UAE work permit but surprisingly, he did Oman Work permit visa which is better of UAE I discussed with him. I forwarded my CV in UAE CV format, a copy of international passport and passport photography of myself.

Please come back and tell us what you actually get when you arrive in Oman to claim the job.

Agent has spoiled your chance of a visa.
Agent has lied about your wages (he did not make a mistake he boosted the figures to look better!)
Did you arrange with in-law? Or just use his name without telling him?

What EXACTLY was on the rejection letter, or is the agent not telling?

The visa is given to you, not the school
so you must meet all the requirements.
Just gaining admission to any school is not enough.

Very unlikely that the school would intervene and even more unlikely that the visa officer would change their decision.

You must look carefully at the reason for refusal and put those things right.

The visa officer has said, and we have repeated many times.

They want to hear you speaking the truth in a natural speaking voice.
If they think that you are repeating a prepared speech that you have learnt it will be rejection.

Just be sure of your facts and statements.
