Points of correction here please angry

1. Second Niger Bridge: construction or continuation/completion?

2. Benin-Ore road is probably the most "motorable" interstate road in the country and hence need nothing. If you told me Sagamu-Ore axis, that needs intervention.

3. Lagos-Sagamu-Ore-Benin is the most important route in the country as is links the business hubs of the country: Lagos, Delta, Onitsha, Aba. Hence, that route should breathe first touch and not those roads up there.

I just smell tribalism here!

The Onus is on us from Southern region , we come here to insult each other meanwhile these core northern(NW&NE) fellows don't care about anyone, they see us as second class citizens, yet they use us to maintain their domination. Let our eyes open. Yorubas, Igbos, Niger Delta, let us Unite. YIN

#Who_Cursed_Southerners?

In this Nigeria, an average Southerner is a weakling. A born coward with serious complex issues. A fool and an idiot. A slave. A typical example of a butterfly who thinks himself a bird. But this is not even the problem. The biggest problem is, he doesn't even realise he is any of those things.

The only thing an average Southerner is good at is blowing high sounding grammar and acquiring degrees upon degrees but when it comes to things that matter most, he goes to slumber.

An average Southerner has this twisted mindset that the best way to be seen as a patriotic and detribalised Nigerian is by degrading, shaming and disparaging his own tribe for no just cause.

Abacha stole this country blind, such that 20 years after, his loot is still being returned to the country. But in spite of this, people like Buhari publicly swore that he (Abacha) stole nothing. But to an average Southern idiot, Jonathan's 5 year rule is the reason we have no fuel, no light, no good educational system, no nothing! Jonathan is the worst thief in Nigeria's history. IBB, Abdulsalam and even Buhari who was accused of stealing billions of dollars as PTF boss were all saints. Why? Because they are Northerners.

Was it not a southern he-goat named Obasanjo who publicly accused Jonathan of training snipers in Pyongyang (North Korea) ahead of last year's election?? He made the unfounded allegation just to please his masters upnorth. Now that we have the highest figure of senseless deaths of civilians in the hands of both state and non state actors under a Northern president Buhari, have you read any letter from OBJ??

When Shiites were massacred in Zaria, it took less than 48 hours for Chidi Odinkalu of the National Human Right Commission to establish a commission of inquiry and summon the army chief but when unarmed IPOB members praying in a school field in Aba were murdered by the security agents, did you hear even a loosely worded condemnation from Chidi Odinkalu??

Check out the list of those asking that Fayose to be tried for treason for writing to the Chinese govt over Buhari's $2 loan, they are 80% southerners. And most of them have not even read the said Fayose letter at least to know the reasons Fayose adduced in the said letter. These are the same fools who kept mum when Sango Abdullahi, Sani Kaita and some so called Northern elders publicly threatened to make the country ungovernable if power wasn't returned to the North. When Buhari made his 'dogs and baboon' speech and directly caused the death of southern youth corpers, these morons kept mum.

With all the numberless killing of civilians under this regime and its open support for the genocide the world fourth deadliest terror group (the Fulani militant) has continue to visit on Nigerians, have these highly educated southerners bothered to write a strongly worded petition to the ICC just like Nyako, El-rufai and other northerners did to Jonathan??

These southern fools will gleefully yell 'Kanu should rot in jail, he was preaching hate on radio Biafra!' But these clowns maintained sealed lips over the hateful and inciting broadcast by 'Radio Chanji' and Arewa Radio upNorth. Such is the degree of the soulless hypocrisy of these southern senseless hypocrites.

These nitwits were on rooftops telling us how incompetent and corrupt Jonathan was and how his removal was a patriotic duty. Today, things have all gone worse under Buhari and you would think that these southern imbeciles would be at the forefront calling for Buhari's resignation but no! They are the ones defending the Daura born ex-soldier even against the worse things for which they crucified Jonathan then.

Now I know why Jonathan appeared weak as president and spent his 5 year term trying to please the North.

He knew he had nobody behind him. He knew that we Southerners are weaklings only good at blowing high sounding but empty grammar.

These 'efulefu' southerners will never question why Buhari has never condemned the murderous activities of his fulani kinsmen but these same 'anumpamas' will read this post and quickly tag me a bigot.

Slaves who think themselves masters!!

weedtheweeds:
Because many Igbos have made Lagos their homes, investing trillions of naira and creating so many businesses. They make the money, but they find it very difficult to invest in their hometowns. They do not see the bigger picture. I blame the self-made millionaires who cannot build the magnificent estates that they build in Lagos in their hometowns. Lagosians are expanding every nook in Lagos and making trillions of dollars. Imagine how much a plot of land costs in Lekki, VI, Eko Atlantic etc, but people from other ethnic tribes buy them. For example, Nnewi is supposed to have been transformed to London by now. But, Igbo who claims be sensible people cannot take advantage of opportunities to transform their states for posterity. Ibori tried at his time by developing his village building schools and a lovely hospital. Cross river is doing a good job in creating opportunities for the indigenes. Dangote is now building a refinery in Lagos, so imagine that. The businesses and the investments in Lagos are just so enormous.
If Biafra ever came, how would the Igbos move their investments from Lagos?

I am not wishing the country evil neither I am happy about this news but as a true economist, one will know their policy will catch fire as our major favour source of FX is dropping. We have been talking of diversification but how long are we going to start? Money meant for this has been used to make dollars cheap hence speculators have purchased everything waiting to sell @ exorbitant profit.

Though the aftermath of floating the currency may lead to severe consequences. The decision to defend and float naira is just like someone caught between the devil and deep blue sea.

The smart ones knew already that the CBN policy will not be sustainable enough to defend our currency as oil price in the market is dropping and our reserve is indicating red signal to us. It may tumble to N400 before Monday from the look of things

Earlier today or yesterday CBN were boasting they will fight it to N305. So now what's going on?

Anyway speculators has purchased all the cheap dollars available hence ready to sell when it tumble to all time low.

The unstable nature of our currency is one of the reason foreign investors are scared of investing in nigeria.

This una argument: oil prices were already low as of May 29, 2015. Besides, with all the fantastical tales of corruption involving the previous govt, one would have thought the emergence of the present govt, with its ultra-honest accounting for govt revenues, would have offset the impact of the oil price fall.

If the GEJ govt was looting all our money, and the Buhari govt isn't, why would an oil price fall be so painful for Nigerians when they were not benefiting much in the first place?
You are just too sentimental for my liking. At the bolded, how much was oil price compared to the last quarter of 2016? It was just Dec 2016 that the price of oil start rising from all time low of $28 per barrel to the current price of $50 per barrel which is still below the price @ May 2016.

GEJ would have diversify the economy during oil boom but what do u have, still borrowing money to pay salaries, fund projects which are not critical to fix the economy in the long run.

I am not trying to defend the current administration who are clueless to fixing the mess created by the past administrations but you defending a failed hero still beats my imagination.

I agree with number one. For number two I disagree slightly. The marketers, sellers and what have you if they were patriotic at all, would have applied the law of averages to bring down their price. But again, it is the government's fault.
If government apply price regulatory bodies, some Nigerians will abuse this same government and by virtue of this will say, government should allow market force take its course

They should stop the madness if the impact is not going to be felt by us. What's the point of the naira gaining grounds over the dollar if prices of commodities aren't going down?

Everyone especially people from certain regions in this country were shouting the rate of naira vs dollar was appalling which I agree ( even though I personally benefited from it). Now the dollar is now between N340 and N360 to a naira from the N520 record high but nothing has changed.

Unfortunately we still have prices of things in the market as high as anything but no one is talking about it? Many were quick to hurl abuses at the government and especially Buhari now the needful have been done but no one is criticising the disgusting marketers and market women who are our real problem.

Don't tell me for a minute that two weeks is not enough to crash down prices of stuffs that had gone up. Two weeks would certainly have been enough for them to skyrocket.

And don't tell me they need to sell what they have in stock before bringing new prices, they never had to wait before increasing their prices when prices was shooting up as if they were heading for the moon.

If only we can get on the back of the idiotas call importers, retailers, market women and etc as we do the government, maybe, just maybe things will change.

Am I angry? Yes, I am angry, it is obvious. £100 now has less value in naira terms which is what we want but the buying power is still as small as before when reverse should be the case. bleeping disgusting and rretarded bastados dem marketers, importers and market women.
Two things are responsible;

1. Poor government price policy to check mate market value of commodities

2. Law of price - It is easier for the price of goods to move up than to go down especially in Nigeria where we have greedy people. Commodities such as perishable/fast consumable goods supposed to have decrease now but exception can be given to luxury goods ( eg electronics, automobile, etc) whose consumption are low.

Fathers can sometimes be over protective on their daughters. In the past, I visited my ex-girlfriend house and when her father saw me, he squeezed his face like someone who just ate bitter leaf. Despite the fact that I prostrated with my clean clothes on their dirty compound floor, this man gave me one terrible look. I requested if I can see his daughter and the next thing was he let loose the already angry artesian dog barking to the heavens as if I am an armed robber. It is that day I get to know one can do the impossible. I never knew I had already flew the 10ft fence of their house until I miraculously found myself at the other side of it.
