First of all i will like to inform you that in public service,Engineers and Technicians are in different cadre,and so what u c a technician is doing is not really the work of an Engineer.
Real practicing Engineers in nigeria i can tell u con compete with any in the world and i stand to be challenged.
The work of an Engineer is mainly to design,supervise the execution of the design,and monitor the performance of the design to ensure that,it meets the designed concept.
Apart from the design, Technologist can carry out all of the above functions of an Engineer.the technician is the charge with the maintenance of the system.the technician is not equipped with the technical know how on the operation of the system.The technician is the second to the last in the hierarchy of the Engineering profession,the craftsman been the last in the ladder.
But because our society is bedeviled with chronic ignorance and sometimes poverty,pple prefer to engage the technician rather than the Engineer for design(In fact the technician just assembles parts) at the ex pence of their lives,the lives of their client,the site workers and investments of vtheir client.For example the electrification of buildings etc.
Remember,one of the destinations of Engineering states that:Engineering is the CONSCIOUS APPLICATION of science to the problem of Economic production.

Having said that,i want to congratulate u for ur determination to learn,unlike some of my christain brothers and sisters.
the religion books(both Bibble and Qur'an,i mentioned the bibble first becouse we muslims believe that the bible also is d word of of God and it also preceeds the Qur'an)emphasised the important of seeking for knowledge.

youngies: A 500-level expelled student of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, David Ndako, has been arrested by the police for raping and chopping off the head of a lady while celebrating the New Year on Tuesday in Rafin Yashi area of Bosso town in Niger state.

We learnt that the girl, simply identified as Rahamat, was lured into the apartment by the man before he sexually abused her.

Ndako was said to have dragged the headless body of the girl to the toilet in the apartment before wrapping the bleeding head in a Bagco super bag which he carried on his way out of the compound.

However, it was learnt that the neighbours became suspicious of the killer boy, particularly when they noticed blood dripping from the bag.

They were said to have questioned him on the content of the bag and forced him to open it before discovering that he was carrying the severed head of his female visitor.

Our correspondent gathered that the neighbours raised alarm which attracted an angry mob that almost lynched the school drop-out before the community leader in the area rescued him and handed him over to the police.

The girl was said to be on a visit to his relative in Minna from Katsina state, but it could not be ascertained if they were in a relationship before the incident.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Niger state Police Command and Deputy Superintended of Police, Pius Edobor, confirmed the incident to us, saying that investigation was on to establish the identity of the murdered girl and the relationship between the boy and the deceased.

We learnt that the Ndako was expelled from FUT over six years ago in connection with cult-related activities.
