Abstain from blood. Abstain from seeing abstain from touching abstain from eating abstain
Abstain from everything blood. Abstain from blood products or components or fractions.

You know he said abstain from fornication too. Since you assume blood fractions from blood donated by worldly people is ok what fraction of fornication should we accept?

wirinet: The problem with us Africans is that we are very narrow minded and tend to look at issues from only our tunnel vision perspective.
I lived in V/I (bar beach towers) for 20 years and I lived in main Ikoyi for 8 years. So I have wider perspectives from both sides.
Yes, all you said is valid from the perspective of the elite, but what of the perspective of the low income workers or services provider struggling to survive. Basic human instinct is survival and would risk everything and defy all odds to get to where he feels his chances of survival are better. People still cross the Sahara desert and Mediterranean Sea, despite the chances of surviving the journey being very slim.
I am an architect and in one of my courses called urban planing, it clearly taught me that if you fail to plan for low income housing when planing your urban cities, shanties and squatter settlements will naturally develop. This problem is not unique to Nigeria or Africa. Even France and USA battle with squatter settlements issues. The rich elites often don't like seeing or associating with poor people, except for exploitation. The failure of the ruling elites to make provisions for the poor people always come back and hunt them.
I left V/I about 15 years ago and I hardly go there. I went to visit a friend at Muri Okunola last week and I was appalled by the state of the roads. The traffic was horrendous and the roads were terrible. Muri Okunola itself was impassable.
I am sorry to say, but with all the allocations going to Lagos and the high IGR, the infrastructures is nothing to write about in terms of maintenance. Yes, I know other states even fare worse than Lagos, it still does not exonerate Lagos State governments.
I am one of those that believes the pressure on Lagos is too much, hosting the 2 major sea ports in the country, hosting the most important international airport and now planing on hosting the biggest refinery in Africa and a free trade zone, in such a tiny state? We go soon dey climb on top each other.
Anyway the main problem of Lagos is urban planing. There seem to be non whatsoever by the various governments Main problem is greed! The greed to have it all achieved in your state instead of decentralizing these infrastructure or projects. There are other places where these projects can be sited in this country but because of politics some region gets almost all the share. The cake don't have to cry when flies perch on it. It attracted them in the first place. Spread the cake and get less flies on a spot. But don't worry, nature has a way of correcting itself. When it becomes evident that a city has gotten to it's limits of supporting good life, humans just move in to another location. |

Everybody is running, even Warri people. We are tired of useless and senseless excuses from 1900. The people simply have no brain or will to help themselves. If e pain you, go to Abuja and ask FG for help. Not Lagos. We choose to use our allocation to do something. Try that approach. You just being a blockhead to what's really going on. You lack a sense of current affairs and I can understand that you are a toddler when it comes to these things (politics). Do you know the amount of money pumped into the Lagos ports by the federal govt at the detriment of other ports in Nigeria? You hear of dry ports in kaduna and federal cash spent to make it work but you wonder why a port at a sea shore (warri, onne, pH, Calabar) isn't concentrated on or developed? You say Abuja is a learner when it comes to Lagos. Lol! My guy just shut up! The sea isn't an infrastructure. |

If that is the level of work you get from your governor and what you expect, no wonder you are on NL defending shanties and other rubbish. baby124: Lol. You think Lagos doesn’t have indigenes who deserve the low cost housing? Yes they are free to move around but Lagos has no obligation to provide anything for them. We receive allocation just like their state governors do. Let them go and ask their state governors for assistance. We Lagosians also need the help of our own governors and we are enough in our state. Lagos is one state of 36 in Nigeria. They can try your state.
At least for once, your state governors can make use of their brains. Instead of living like Kings. Empty and shameless cowards. You call yourself a man though... I am sure you can’t write this stupid epistle yo your state Governor. But when it comes to Lagos everybody has an opinion. Most state governor's perform better than your Pontius Pilate governor. Your state simply bask in the glory of it's former federal capital territory status. Everyone has an opinion because the federal might back then used the resources of the less developed oil regions to make Lagos what it is today. How far have you gone since that status was taken away from you. Nonsense! |

wirinet: It's not always about running from their own states, it's has more to do with urban planning. Shanties are natural occurrence of high brow urban areas without adequate planning for low income housing. Low income housing should go hand in hand with high income developments. The high income earners needs and hire low income workers like driver's, maids, gardeners, etc. Where do you want them to stay. High income earners need low income services like mechanics, vulcanisers, electricians and convenience shops, where do you want the owners of these services to stay. To make matters worse, the V/I and lekki areas his now a commercial and business district, no provisions whatsoever is made for low income workers..., and you don't expect Shanties to develop?
Each time a shanty is demolished, another one develops to take its place. That has been the history of Shanties along that V/I - lekki axis. From maroko to bar beach, to other Shanties that had been demolished down the years. The elites do not want to take eye see poor people, but at the same time need their services.
The problem of Lagos State governments over the years is what I called elitist bias. The need poor people only during elections, once elected, the governor only thinks about the elites and carry out elitist programmes. Very true and correct. But what do these leaders know. If I was the local artisans still hanging around, I'd double the charges I place on my services. Let's see if they'll go to the mainland to hire/import artisans. I remember when the northerners ran back due to the north due to the ethnic crises in 2005 at the onitsha and asaba axis; looking for a shoe cobblers at the period was like looking for the Governor of the state. We sometimes think they are worthless and useless but the truth is you never know what you had till you loose it. |

Okowa did very well and that was what we actually needed and still need: but the Stephen keshi stadium he completed (through adding finishing touches) is already looking quite wornout just after a year of "local direct labour" construction. Let us see how he would perform now in his remaining four years. Uduaghan had an airport built, the asaba flyover which is rarely used (because the high volume traffic is simply going under it), street lights and event centre were constructed under his administration. No Governor is totally useless. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Donald Trump Has Been Impeached! by xaggar(m): 6:52am On Dec 19, 2019 |
On November 9th, 2016 the American people went to the polls and voted, and Republican Donald Trump won 30 states including all of the Swing states, and he became the president of the United States of America.
But for 3 years the Democrats have been trying to override the will of the voters, and they have tried to overturn that election just because they are mad that they lost.
The day after Donald Trump won the election.
1. The Democrats were in the street shouting NOT MY PRESIDENT.
2. They then smashed out store windows and set cars on fire.
3. They rioted in the streets in some cities.
4. The Democrats started the resistance movement, to oppose Trump at every turn.
5. Democrat politicians boycotted going to Donald Trump presidential inauguration.
6. Democrat politicians boycotted going to Donald Trump State of the Union Speech.
7. Democrat politicians have often gotten on national television and called Donald Trump ( the occupant of White House), which is totally disrespectful to the American voters who went to the polls and voted and elected Donald Trump the president.
8. For 3 years the Democrats have been looking for anykind of way they could find to impeach Donald Trump, all because they are mad that they lost the election.
9. A Democrat politician said that if they don't impeach Trump, he's going to get re-elected.
This is how the Democrats have been acting about losing the 2016 presidential election to Donald Trump.
Over 70 Democrat politicians refused to go to Donald Trump inauguration, because they were mad that they lost.
They basically boycotted the will of the people, the Americans that went to the polls and voted.
Some Democrats even boycotted Donald Trump State of the Union Speech in 2019.
Democracy doesn't mean anything to them.
The American people voted for Trump to be president, but the Democrats don't respect the will of the people. After the election they took to the street shouting that Donald Trump is not their president.
Democrats got out in the street and blocked interstates because they lost the election. The day after Trump won the election the Democrats blocked interstates in different cities. |

The checkpoints are not inside Ondo or Benin town. So, Ondo or Benin peeps can't feel the blockade unless they travel from Lagos to the SE. Comprende? Except you are travelling from Lagos to Onitsha, you cannot feel the negative impacts these police/army checkpoints pose to travellers.
If anyone from any part of Nigeria were to travel from Lagos to Onitsha, he will see what the issue is. Since you have been unfortunate not to leave your mud house with its thatched roof, your tiny, almost non-existent mind cannot process real life events around you. Since you are unfortunate not to own a car, or even board a public transport from Lagos or the SW to the SE, you do not see what the problem is. A rational mind will ask himself, why on Earth is there up to 60 check points within such distance? But people like you don't ever, have never, and will never know what it means to be rational or think constructively. Don't worry. You shall be alright very soon.
