Education › Re: Nigerian Parents After Secondary School Dont Send You Kids To University Do This by XAUBulls:
Infotubia9ja:
So I am making this topic with respect to this post I saw on NL https://www.nairaland.com/8489362/after-spending-4-years-10m/3#136343112.

And I have commented on there and the response i got made me create a topic about this to explain much better. Before I go further please pardon my grammar errors as some typo might be due to human error. With that been said here we go.

As of today the year 2025, 98% of all courses in our nigerian institutions are obsolete and as such i will say this. If you are a parent or a student or even an adult who doesn't know what path to take, then please take your time and read this.

Instead of you wasting your money or your parents money going to any public or private university in either nigeria or USA or UK or Germany etc, please do this instead.

1, get yourself a good computer i mean I good computer your money can afford, make sure it meets the minimum specifications for any field you decide to choose from the list below now there are many more option but these right here are the gold
mine.

A, Robotic engineering
B, Artificial intelligence
C, 3D modelling and agumented reality
D, Geology and mining ( mostly gold mining and letium mining colbat etc)
F, Drone modelling/drone technology/ autonomous navigation.
G, Rocket science technology
H, 2D/3D game design and production.
I, Automated agricultural technology
J, Mechanical engineering and mechatronics
K, Weapon design/military defence application.
L, product design/Assembly.

And some more but these right here are the gold mines of today's world we live in.

Now if you want me to explain more on any of this topic just ask and I will be happy to go further.

Now all this here you can learn them for 100% free online what you need is a good computer and a stable power source and a very good stable internet connection.

You can get free access to each and every topic for free from diffrent platforms like

Youtube
Edx
Udemy, and many more.

But these places I just listed should be your starting point.

Now I will advice you on this that after the completion of your secondary school in nigeria, you should not waste your time and money to go to any university in nigeria and abroad. Spend few years and a minimum of atleast 5 to 6 hours daily learning online from those said resources I listed above.

Now at some point, I know you might see your mates who are doing internet fraud and you will want to be influenced due to you have a laptop and internet connection please DON'T. dont let them distract you.

Infact cut ties with them and focuse on a topic pick one or two or more and learn and learn and learn and with time you will be good in your field
and you will do wonders.

Now after you have spent a few years studying at home, you can decide to further your studies to acquire more knowledge abroad which will be the best decision you will make but please the one and only country I will advice you to go study will be CHINA and only CHINA. If you want me to explain further feel free to ask.

Now before I go I want to show you an example of what I mean.

I will attach a picture to this post of a toodler who build his own computers from learning online YouTube. Uf a 6 years old can do it, you can do it.

Now if you learn any of the above and you become very good at it, the sky is your starting point.

Now I really dont want to hold you with too much text to read here but if you need help with more additional information on what chanel platform to choose the best tutorials all 100% free please feel free to ask and I will be glad to help.

With that said I will stop here by saying this.
Our leaders as way so so backwards that they dont know what policies to implement to help advance its citizens and as such we have remaind backwards and way way behind. Our educational system is so so much in shambles and crushing that it is just a waste of time and money and energy going to any university in nigeria and if you dont agree with that its alright you are entitled to your own opinion and you can remain in the dark and go hug a transformer.
If you wish to know more please ask me what you want.

Let's educate ourself and make our country a better place.
Massive insights... One of the greatest threads that I've ever read in my 20 years (since 2005) of using this NL discussion forum.

Second, what are the BEST Chinese Unis that you would suggest here that wouldn't have a language barrier in China with regards to NOT requesting you to compulsorily learn Chinese language and are they based in English-speaking Hong Kong or Mainland China?

Third, I know about the YouTube EDU section of YouTube, but what is the BEST section of YouTube that would be most ideal to access fuller free information on the following paths you listed right above? Is it gonna be YouTube EDU or just YouTube generally and can you suggest more learning sites specifically targeted
for these two pathways listed right BELOW:

1) Drone modelling/drone technology/ autonomous navigation.

2) Automated agricultural technology

Those two paths are indeed fascinating because they are at the epicenter of agribusiness driven by AI and autonomous technologies. Despite their small land mass, the Netherlands happens to be the second largest exporter of commodities after the United States and this has been achieved with the aid of AI, automated greenhouses and autonomous drone technologies, etc.

I appreciate your insights here.

Cheers.

Investment › Re: What Happens To Your Cryptocurrency When You Die? by XAUBulls: 4:04am On Oct 06, 2025
Traditional investments (say, a savings account at a bank) are relatively easy to find, access, and delegate with a death certificate and other legal documentation.

But crypto poses some unique challenges.

Unlike traditional bank accounts, which are registered under a legal name and subject to oversight, digital assets like Bitcoin and NFTs don’t have a central regulatory authority.

Crypto investors maintain their own assets using digital wallets that are only accessible via a password or a private key — a 256-bit long string of alphanumeric characters that is only known to the account holder.

Without these private keys, there is little hope of heirs ever accessing a dead loved one’s crypto holdings.

Had Klein died without sharing his private key with his wife, it’s likely his crypto holdings would’ve been stuck in permanent purgatory on the blockchain.

By one estimate, ~20% of all bitcoins are “lost,” meaning the wallets containing them haven’t been accessed in 5+ years. This works out to ~3.7m bitcoin, or ~$140B in capital (as of publication) — and that doesn’t include the 10k+ other cryptocurrencies on the market.

A significant percentage of this lost crypto is thought to be the result of investors dying without leaving behind a pathway of access to heirs.

There have been a few high-profile cases of this nightmare situation:

1. In 2018, Gerald Cotten, the CEO of the crypto exchange Quadriga, unexpectedly died at age 30, allegedly taking with him the private keys to $250m worth of his clients’ cryptocurrency.

2. Also in 2018, Mathew Mellon, a businessman who’d turned a $2m investment in the cryptocurrency Ripple into a reported $500m+, died without telling anyone where his private keys were stored. His wallets have yet to be located.

3. In 2013, a 26-year-old Bitcoin miner named Matthew Moody died in a plane crash, leaving behind no way to access thousands of dollars’ worth of crypto. Years later, his father is still trying to recover the funds.

Despite these tales, many crypto investors haven’t given much thought to the afterlife of their bitcoin.

In a survey of cryptocurrency investors conducted by The Hustle, nearly 40% of respondents reported having no plan in place to pass on their cryptocurrency to an heir.

There is no trader that doesn't incurr loss. BTC may be superior, but if I buy at current price and refuse selling by DJ, I will be in loss in no time.
Trading has to do with strategy, and that's what a good trader needs to navigate the market.
I have traded BTC no more than 10% of my entire transaction, and I can tell you that altcoin has kept me going. If I have the funds to buy BTC tomorrow, I will do so because I also believe in it, but i will trade more of altcoin because it's a pacemaker.

1 Employment (trading crypto assets is a means of employment and most crypto exchange employs more citizens to manage their platforms)
2 It attracts foreign investment (if the nation crypto markets is growing it can attracts foreign investors like Coin desk, and other notable firms).
3 High inflow of FX (The more crypto assets we hold the more the inflow of FX)
4 High liquidity of funds for loan through DeFi loans ( you can obtain loan on DeFi platforms with no third party and less interest)
5 Block chain solution can be used to fix some of the nations problem (supply chain, insecurity, distribution of palliatives, elections, e.t.c)
6 It will ease the pressure on foreign currency, Nigerians holding crypto assets can pay their trade partners in crypto instead of looking for scarce USD.
Banning crypto platforms has no effect on stoping the Naira from a free fall, PMB did the same and all efforts were frutai. The only way to save the economy is to diversify the economy, fix insecurity, electricity, reduce VAT and increase import duties to encourage local production then give tax incentives in the short term to encourage foreign investors.
Crypto has no negative effect on economy, it's only clueless government who sees crypto has a threat

market stabilization actions are needed yes, but Banning crypto could push the ecosystem underground, making it harder to regulate and potentially exacerbating financial instability. A balanced approach, where crypto is regulated and integrated into the financial system with proper oversight, is a better choice.

This would allow FG harness its benefits while mitigating its risks. Benefits like having
1) alternative financial system,
2) potentially increases financial inclusion,
3)transparency of transactions,
4) better supply and demand management

Direct inflation control measures that will Strengthen the economic fundamentals

here are monetary policy proposals for Nigeria involving crypto and blockchain, targeting inflation control without stifling growth:

- Manufacturing Zones: Establish special economic zones with incentives for manufacturers, including tax breaks and infrastructure support to spur industrial growth.

- Crypto-Backed Agricultural Lending: Launch a blockchain-enabled platform for issuing crypto-backed loans to farmers at below-market interest rates. This encourages agricultural productivity, a sector crucial for growth and inflation control, by providing much-needed capital. The use of crypto ensures ease of distribution and repayment, while blockchain technology ensures transparency and tracking of fund usage.

- Blockchain-Managed Supply Chain Financing: Implement a supply chain financing system using blockchain to provide liquidity to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). By using a stablecoin pegged to the Naira, businesses can transact and receive financing with more stability, reducing the pressure on forex demand, a key contributor to inflation.

- Tourism Development Strategy: Develop historical and cultural sites, invest in tourist infrastructure, and market aggressively to international tourists to boost foreign exchange earnings.

Transaction Ledgers. A public ledger recording all transactions to ensure transparency.
It can have Privacy settings to balance transparency with confidentiality through diversification and increased productivity.

Digital Infrastructure Bonds: Issue blockchain-based bonds to fund digital infrastructure projects, attracting global crypto investors and ensuring transparent use of funds.

What intrinsic value does cryptocurrency bring to the table? FYI, cryptocurrency is just an asset class that was proposed by Satoshi Nakamoto to replace fiat currency during the economic meltdown of 2008. Dude rolled out bitcoin implementation plan and went incommunicado afterwards. Today, developers are forking BTC up and down.

That shit wants to replace fiat currency without government's backing. People are free to dream on, but the biggest losers are those the shit will become worthless in their wallets when all the hype is gone.

[quote author=Heat.Seeker post=133327318]Nigeria leads the world in crypto ownership, according to ConsenSys’ second annual Global Survey.

The report indicated that emerging markets like Nigeria and South Africa are driving the global adoption of cryptocurrencies.

The percentage of ownership is highest in the Philippines (54%), South Africa (68%), and Nigeria (73%).

These countries are at the forefront of notable interest in cryptocurrency-related awareness, ownership, and engagement.

According to the survey, 51% of respondents say they understand crypto assets and 93% of respondents worldwide are aware of them.

Additionally, these countries have shown a strong interest in Web3 activities, such as staking, utilizing decentralized finance (DeFi), and holding NFTs.

Eighty per cent of Nigerian respondents were aware of decentralization, and 77% correctly defined blockchain. In addition, 74% of respondents from South Africa said they were familiar with the concept, compared to 61% of those from the Philippines.

The survey also reveals enduring obstacles to entry, despite the increasing interest in cryptocurrency in these regions. Concerns about scams, market volatility, and a lack of understanding of its purpose are common worldwide.

Respondents from emerging markets have shown a willingness to accept virtual currencies despite these difficulties and barriers.

Seventy-five per cent of those surveyed expressed concern about artificial intelligence’s (AI) potential to spread fraud and create fake news, highlighting that blockchain may be crucial in resolving these issues.

Blockchain could offer the accountability and transparency required to counteract AI-driven disinformation, according to roughly 54% of participants worldwide.

Speaking about the survey’s findings on the growing significance of data privacy, Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum and CEO of ConsenSys, stated: “It is impossible to overestimate the crucial role that blockchain technology and decentralization play in improving privacy, trust, and transparency in the way our data is handled.

“The adoption of Web3, blockchain, and cryptocurrency has accelerated recently, with 2024 being a key year.”

He clarified that this growth is partly due to the recent U.S. presidential election, which might result in more transparent regulations for the sector.

Nigeria: A Unique Crypto Market

Nigerians have been drawn to the digital world in hopes of making a living as the real economy struggles with high youth unemployment and astronomical food inflation.

Chainalysis, a New York-based company that tracks blockchain use, estimated that 33% of Nigerians currently invest in cryptocurrencies, placing the country second in global adoption, after India.Nigerians living abroad use crypto assets to send money to their families back home, avoiding the hassles and exorbitant fees associated with traditional remittance methods. However, Nigerian policymakers have been concerned about the appetite for cryptocurrencies, which are transnational by nature. They claim that instead of resolving Nigerians’ problems, the country’s move toward cryptocurrencies has weakened their ability to govern and further harmed the struggling naira.

These obstacles haven’t deterred President Tinubu’s administration from using a carrot-and-stick approach. While the Nigerian SEC has theoretically regulated a few local cryptocurrency exchanges, at least three well-known cryptocurrency companies have left the Nigerian market this year.

Bitcoin Bullish RunBitcoin surged to a new all-time high, reaching as high as $106K on Monday morning as investors anticipated a rate cut by the Federal Reserve later this week.Bitcoin is now up 50% since the U.S. elections and almost 8% for the month since Trump’s victory, with a year-to-date gain of 145%.Digital assets continue to benefit from the prospect of a more favorable regulatory environment and the potential creation of a national strategic bitcoin reserve under the incoming Donald Trump administration.

Business › Re: Bernard Madoff: The Man Who Ran The World's Largest Ponzi Scheme Dies by XAUBulls: 11:05pm On Oct 05, 2025
Phlegman:
When Bernard Madoff’s Ponzi scheme collapsed in December 2008, $65bn vanished overnight, devastating tens of thousands of small investors, charities and religious groups who continue to struggle to this day.

The former chair of the Nasdaq stock market’s confession that his fabled investment company was “one big lie” came at the depths of the financial crisis and riveted global attention. Amid an alphabet soup of opaque financial products that had crashed the world economy, people could understand this crime.

Madoff, who died this week aged 82 in a North Carolina prison, was so hated that he wore a bulletproof vest in court. His saga has sparked at least five on-screen depictions, including portrayals by Robert De Niro and Richard Dreyfuss. “Underneath that facade, there truly is a beast
. He has fed upon us,” Sheryl Weinstein, one of his victims, testified at his sentencing.

Though the scrappy broker turned Manhattan mogul was the chief villain, Wall Street and the financial capitals of Europe were tarnished, too. His apparent extraordinary run of steady, solid returns had raised red flags for years, but many hedge funds, banks and asset managers clamoured to profit from him rather than ask questions.

Born in 1938 in Queens, Madoff watched his father’s sporting goods business collapse and then dropped out of law school. Using money from lifeguarding and installing sprinklers, he started a tiny brokerage, Bernard L Madoff Investment Securities, in 1960 and built it into a powerhouse with the controversial tactic of paying traders to send their orders to him
.

He always felt shut out from “the club” of the New York Stock Exchange and Wall Street’s elite “white shoe” firms. “They fought me every step of the way,” he said in a 2011 prison interview. Yet by the 1980s, his firm was processing up to 5 per cent of NYSE trading.

A side hustle managing people’s money quietly expanded as he tapped a growing network of investors ranging from the New York University endowment to Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel to members of the Palm Beach country.

Elegant and well-tailored, Madoff cultivated an air of exclusivity. His business occupied a Manhattan skyscraper, and he bought a penthouse and 56-foot yacht named “Bull”. He attributed his results to a mysterious “split strike” strategy.

Asset managers fell over themselves to send him client money, setting up special “feeder funds”. Few seemed concerned that the operation was audited by a two-man shop and refused to use an outside custodian to keep assets safe.

Most investment banks were more suspicious because their traders never seemed to encounter Madoff’s investment arm as a counterparty. But JPMorgan Chase acted as his banker. It later paid a record $2.6bn for failing to alert authorities to the suspicions that led it to pull out $250m of its own money.

Regulators did no better. Though the US Securities and Exchange Commission received six “substantive complaints” from 1992 onwards, its examiners were charmed by Madoff’s “plausible” explanations, a later investigation found.

By 2008, Madoff had taken in $17bn and sent investors false statements claiming that their holdings amounted to $65bn. The tower of lies crumbled when the financial crisis prompted big investors to pull out funds. Since he had been using new investors’ money to pay off old ones, Madoff was trapped. One December evening, he confessed to his family that the whole business was a scam. His sons turned him in to the authorities the next day.

He pleaded guilty in 2009. “I am responsible for a great deal of suffering and pain. I understand that,” he said as he was sentenced to the maximum 150 years. “I am sorry.”

One of Madoff’s sons later killed himself, the other died of cancer. His brother Peter spent nine years in prison, and his wife Ruth was stripped of their fortune. Last year, the original judge rejected Madoff’s request for compassionate release because he had kidney failure. “It was fully my intent that he live out the rest of his life in prison,” Denny Chin wrote.

The trustee charged with trying to recover money for the victims sprayed the financial world with legal claims against those who profited from their Madoff association. More than 30 targets have ponied up $14.4bn so far.

“The pain experienced by the victims of Mr Madoff’s fraud is not diminished by his death, nor is our work on behalf of his victims finished,” the trustee Irving Picard said this week.

Great100000:
Nigeria leads Africa’s stablecoin market with $22 billion in transactions in one year—Report

Nigeria has emerged as Africa’s biggest stablecoin market, with nearly $22 billion worth of transactions recorded between July 2023 and June 2024.

This is according to a new report by Yellow Card, Africa’s leading stablecoin payments infrastructure provider.

The report, titled Stablecoin Adoption in Emerging Markets, which was released on Tuesday, highlights the transformative role of stablecoins across Africa, where they now account for 43% of all crypto transaction volumes in Sub-Saharan Africa.

“Nigeria stands out as the continent’s largest stablecoin market, with nearly $22 billion in transactions between July 2023 and June 2024, followed by South Africa and other rapidly growing markets such as Kenya and Ghana,” the report stated.

Global market

According to the report, globally, stablecoins have grown from a market capitalization of $5 billion in 2020 to $230 billion as of May 2025.

But their real impact, Yellow Card notes, is in emerging markets where they are driving innovation in cross-border trade, treasury management, inflation hedging, and financial inclusion.

In Nigeria’s case, they have become a crucial tool for businesses and individuals struggling with FX scarcity, volatile naira-dollar rates, and unreliable banking systems.

“This report highlights the significant role of stablecoins in emerging markets. It demonstrates how stablecoins are crucial for financial inclusion and economic empowerment, especially where traditional banking is unreliable,” said Vice President of Global Operations and Managing Director of Yellow Card Nigeria, Lasbery Chioma Oludimu.

“From facilitating cross-border trade to aiding treasury management, stablecoins are now a fundamental tool for financial stability and efficiency,” she added.

Impact of global trade disruption

The report noted that the United States’ decision in August 2025 to impose tariffs of up to 30% on exports from 47 African nations has accelerated the shift towards dollar-backed stablecoins in Africa.

Businesses and individuals are increasingly using them to bypass dollar scarcity, protect purchasing power, and assert monetary sovereignty.

The passage of the GENIUS Act in the U.S. earlier this year, which created a regulatory framework for stablecoins, has also indirectly boosted confidence in African adoption.

• Nigeria Country Manager at Yellow Card, Somtochukwu Nsofor, noted that stablecoins hold strong promise in oil and gas, manufacturing, and banking.

• By enabling fast, low-cost cross-border payments and reducing exposure to FX risks, they are emerging as vital tools for business resilience. However, he cautioned that challenges such as dollarization risks, rural digital literacy gaps, and infrastructure constraints still stand in the way of wider adoption.

• Meanwhile, African fintechs are racing to embed stablecoins into mobile money platforms, payroll, and trade finance solutions, building systems that are faster, cheaper, and more inclusive than legacy banking.

Recognizing the growing trend in the adoption of stablecoin in the country, Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently announced plans to launch what it called ‘Crypto Smart, Nigeria Strong’ initiative, aimed at engaging developers in co-creating a framework for stablecoin regulations.

According to the Director-General of  SEC, Emomotimi Agama, the commission is also actively exploring a framework for Naira-pegged stablecoins, which will be fully backed by verifiable reserves, audited regularly by independent custodians, and used for cross-border trade, payments, and programmable finance.

This framework will allow digital asset innovation to serve real-world economic activity, beyond speculation.

Well, since they decided to take his risk - they shouldn’t play the victim card when things don’t go their way.

I don’t think the average Yoruba person believes in ‘one Nigeria’. South South also isn’t an ethnic group - it’s a conglomerate of ethnic groups and I’d wager that the relationship between Yorubas and these groups vary from group to group.

Anyway, I was asking about Nembe Ijaw because that particular Ijaw group has a long trading relationship with eastern/coastal Yorubas (dating back to 400-500 years ago). Trading with Nembe Ijaw is the reason why these Yoruba traders settled in Warri (a barren land at the time) thus creating a new distinct ethnicity called, Itsekiri.

Exclusive101:
The former Alpha-Beta Consulting MD said he picked Tinubu as the “most suitable” contestant after a “dispassionate assessment” of all the candidates in the presidential race.

In 2020, Apara, who was sacked as the managing director of Alpha Beta Consulting in 2018, accused Tinubu of owning the firm by proxy, which led to his dismissal and withholding of his share profit for the period he worked for the firm.

He also made allegations of money laundering, tax evasion, forgery, and a number of other corporate fraudulent practices against the company and its owners.

In September 2022, Apara withdrew the case from the court after reaching an undisclosed out-of-court settlement with the former Lagos governor.

“My choice of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the best man for the job is based on a dispassionate assessment of his previous public office records and superlative antecedents, all writ large in Lagos state — Africa’s fifth largest economy were it to be a country on its own,” Apara said.

My pick of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the most suitable candidate for President in 2023 is also informed by a direct experience of the phenomenal Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu having worked with him for over twenty (20) years in various capacities, including at a point in my career when I worked at ALPHA-BETA Consulting, which company I eventually led as managing director/chief executive officer and honourably disengaged from in order to pursue other interests.

“I make bold to say that the great successes we recorded at ALPHA-BETA Consulting, especially the exponential increase in the internally generated revenue (IGR) of all our clients — local and international have everything to do with the capacity and competence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a colossus in public revenue generation re-engineering.

“Such was the undeniable results of ALPHA-BETA Consulting as a professional firm that many states in Nigeria across party divides discarded politics to engage ALPHA-BETA Consulting as their IGR consultants, including some West African nations.

“As a humble recipient of a cache of prizes in financial management and intermediation in Nigeria and across the world, I am convinced that at this juncture in our national journey Nigeria needs a president prudent and pragmatic in financial management like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is an extraordinary manager of human and material resources. As president, he would fix round pegs in round holes for a rapid socio-economic transformation of Nigeria into the country of our collective dreams.”

He said Tinubu is a “famous and credible name” associated with big businesses on the global stage and as president, Nigerians are poised to see more foreign capital and investment pouring into the country like never before.

To start with crypto, you first have to understand BULL and BEAR cycles.
Bull cycles are the period where the prices of crypto goes up for a continuous period until a top is formed
while BEAR cycles are the period where prices of crypto goes down for a continuous period until a bottom is formed.

Before you think of starting crypto, try and identify the cycle of the market we are in.

Crypto has a 3 years BEAR cycle and a 1 year BULL cycle.
Jan 2018 to Nov 2020 - Bear cycle
Dec 2020 to Oct 2021 - Bull cycle
Nov 2021 to May 2024 - Bear cycle
June 2024 to ----------- - Bull cycle

To be successfully, you only buy during the bear cycle and only sell during the bull cycle.
When we get to the bull cycle and you start hearing everyone screaming that crypto is pumping and everyone is excited,
that is when you know you have to sell.
The reason 99% of people lose money in crypto is due to this 1 fact: They buy during the bull cycle and panic sell during the bear cycle.

To start, go to coinmarketcap.com, it has a list of all the cryptos.
look at the top 10, study everything about each and if you are convinced, take the plunge and invest. You will find the places you can buy each there.
BUT MAKE sure you are only buying it during the BEAR cycle, after buying it then wait, wait and wait. The moment you start hearing everyone
talking about how crypto is pumping, everyone is now starting to buy as prices are going crazy, that is your clue to sell.

It is like asking what has Gold contributed to the economy.

Crypto is a store of value against inflation. Because Fiat (which is another name for local currency) has infinite suppy,
over time, fiat suffers inflation as a result of governments all over the world printing unlimited supply of their local currency.
Ask yourself, 1 naira in the 1980s, can it buy the same thing now in 2024, IT CAN'T. Because of inflation.

Every citizen is at the mercy of inflation, that was why the original whitepaper of bitcoin pointed out that fact.
Due to the inifinite supply of Fiat, the citizens are playing on an unfair playing field. (Your money in your bank account
will get worthless overtime)

Then comes crypto (which is a store of value against inflation like gold).
In order to safeguard yourself against inflation, buying bitcoin helps you achieve that.

Crypto can benefit the economy in 2 ways.

1. Sane Governments all over the world are now hedging their reserve in bitcoin and gold, the aim is to protect their local currency.
Example in 2015, 1 bitcoin was $200, assuming the government had converted $100 million to bitcoin, they would have 500,000 bitcoin.
today worth is $25,000,000,000. That reserve can now be used to dispense $1 billion over a 25 years period.

That is why the US has approved Bitcoin ETFs, so normal citizens can now diversify their pension funds in Bitcoin.

2. The naira has infinte supply, so if a new government comes and secretly prints more naira, it dilute the current supply and causes
more inflation. you can store your currency in bitcoin to hedge against that, and then pay your capital gain taxes when u sell, hence
helping the economy.

The reason Nigeria is suffering is because many people have zero to no knowledge of crypto, we have many cryptocurrency, but bitcoin is the main one due to its tokenomics which makes it more and more scarce every 4 years. Many people lose money trading crypto, crypto is not designed for trading as much as gold too is not designed for trading, it is for investment and a store of value overtime.
Buy some bitcoin today and hedge yourself against excessive printing of the naira and inflation.
Impressive.

EponObi:
Crypto has benefited Nigerian citizens more the government has ever done for them.

I won't go much into detail because from my observation, ignorant people are too much on this platform and because they don't understand crypto, they've resorted to calling it all sort of terrible names.

Stick with your 50k per month jobs, stick with your freelancing job, let crypto Bois and gals stick with their own. In the next 3 years, we shall which group attains financial freedom.

Edit: Ok, since this is on the front page, I will elaborate more.

Aside the speculations, the tech (Blockchain) is the next best revolution after the internet. If you are sleeping, start researching Blockchain and AI: these two will lead the next industrial revolution. If you snooze, you might end up relying on obsolete jobs and careers in the next decade. I won't say more than that.

Now to speculations: to the outsiders, crypto boi and gals are brokies. Lol. A lot is happening now in crypto that you won't hear about until late next year. That's when dumb money (probably you) will come into crypto to fuel the mass hysteria that will lead to the next bubble, just like in 2018 and 2022. What crypto dudes won't share with you is that there's a new trend (not so new) of airdrop. What this means is people have been receiving a bunch of free money (called airdrops) just by using and testing Blockchain protocols. I've seen people get up to $3k for testing Zetachain; $5k on Tia Protocol, $5k for testing Arbitrium chain, this is just a few I will mention. This year alone, there has been a minimum of 10 projects that did airdrop. The average Nigeria doesn't even earn $1k per year. It's why I said many of you are ignorant.

*** Another Add (timestamp: 12:10pm): What you ignoramuses don't also understand is that the typical crypto guy is not broke (in the long run). Linea (a crypto company) is currently doing a campaign. More than 500k people worldwide are engaging and I'm 100% certain more than 20k Nigerians are among. By the end of the campaign, one person would have spent $200 for gas payments and shit to test their Blockchain. How many of you fuols can literally set #300k on fire to bet on a life changing outcome? How many of you have the balls to engage, with no explicit agreement that Linea will reward campaign participants? Today is 22nd of Feb, 2024. If or when Linea do their airdrop, I will come back to update how much an average participant got. ***

Airdrop aside, we've seen many token pull 10-100x since Jan 2023. I can count 20 tokens like that off hand. There's a crypto project that's coming mainstream soon called World Coin, founded by by Sam Altman (founder of OpenAI, ChatGPT): that coin moved from $2 to $8 this year along. Mind you, I already told you the mass hysteria is happening late next year. That means for the next 1.5 years, crypto boi and gals (those you qualify as inconsequential, broke, gamblers, unserious) will hunt and earn airdrops and flip alt coins for 10-1000x (even more - depending on individual skill sets).

By 2026, a lot of them will japa to enjoy life (not to become wage slaves), many of them will start businesses - they will inject fuel into our economy, build houses, buys cars, enjoy the goodies of life) while you the serious ones will still be dragging with your low pay jobs.

I'm sorry if my writing offends anyone. But the truth has to be said.

The thing is many of you just go through life like zombies without an iota of idea where the world is heading. The universe has handed all you need to excel in life on a platter but many of you are still snoozing. It's why you see content creators buy cars and you term them as yahoo, forgetting content is the crude oil of the new age.

PS: don't quote me to ask for how to start crypto and shit. I don't have the time. The internet is there for you to use. And most importantly, everything I wrote here is not financial advice.

Shout out to my kings and queens on CTNG. You guys are killing it and are making the Nation proud. 2025 - Joy is coming!!!

New Add: this year, Blackrock got their Bitcoin ETF approved. I see some ignoramus saying crypto has no intrinsic value. Mumus. I guess you know better than Blackrock - a wealth manager with more than $10 trillion AUM. Lmaooooo.

Gold ETF was approved in 2004, Bitcoin ETF got approved in 2024. Lol. I can't wait for Jan 2026.
Brilliant perspectives.

The Asset Management firm, Blackrock's AUM is indeed huge... Over 10 trillion USD. We'll see how the BTC ETF pans out.
