Iweakbro: Foolish government. While I celebrate the gallantry of our soldiers, I must say; that in the face of persistent problems, ingenuity is required to scale through.
Russia is stronger than Ukraine, but how has Ukraine lasted? They went into mass production of different kinds of unmanned vehicles—which has proven to be the difference in this war.
I would have provided my well-thought-out solution, but the stupid government will steal without crediting me.
Stop wasting the lives of our gallant troops in blind offenses.
Ourtruth247: We enter another dimension(the 4th dimension) every night when we go to sleep. In this dimension thought is instantly transformed into matter and we are able to manifest our thoughts and encounter beings who exist in this dimension. But because we have no awareness and no control of the inherent power we posses, we just create random thoughts and experiences. People who are more spiritually gifted are able to time travel and see the future or teleport to other earthly locations(remote viewing)
The only way to retain information from this life in your next life is to attain spiritual enlightenment before you die, so when you die your soul is able to overcome the memory wipe and reincarnation recycle. But why would any spiritually aware soul want to come back to this prison planet anyway?
To attain this level of spiritual awareness you have to first reject every desire of the flesh: the desire for money, desire for power, sexual desires, the desire for earthly success, the desire for material possessions etc. It's a very difficult thing to do given the current state of our world
I think the more knowledge you have of the truth, the more spiritually awakened you are. And the moment you begin to be spiritually awake, your soul becomes activated and your past memories begin to return in crumbs through dreams when you sleep and then through flashes of when you are awake. There is also something called past-live regression hypnosis that helps people remember what happened in their past lives.
Based on my research, collective human ignorance is a powerful mechanism that keeps this reincarnation, memory wipe structure in place, and if we as a collective species attain a certain level of knowledge of our past, we will automatically remember that past. That's why the controllers are hiding our history and that's why they DO NOT REVEAL THEIR TRUE PHYSICAL FORM. If they do, we will certainly remember. It's like a victim of rape who has been made to forget her rape experience through therapeutical techniques and then one day she encounters her rapist on the street, all the memories of her gruesome ordeal will come back instantly.
I do believe there was a global catastrophe that occurred few hundred years ago that wiped out majority of the previous civilization. I have dreamed about it many times and if you go on reddit, you will find similar accounts of multiple people dreaming about the same event. This in my opinion was the last reset. Advanced huge flying crafts wiping out cities, melting stone structures, turning whole civilizations to sand(deserts) and petrifying humans, animals and trees.
Ourtruth247: This video was released few days ago by a group of researchers and it goes in detail into most of the stuff I have been sharing about our hidden history.
Videos like this don't last on Youtube so I'll advise that you watch it immediately or better still, find a way to download it so you can watch it later.
It corroborates almost everything I have been saying and provides a lot of evidence that there was an advanced previous civilization on earth few hundred years ago and they created all of the sophisticated buildings around the world prior to the 1800s and this advanced civilization was wiped out through a reset and our current civilization was introduced into this planet during the 1800s.
AngelGabbyShara: Ekiti Airport gets NCAA’s approval to commence non-scheduled flight operation December 15
Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport (EAICA) Ado-Ekiti has received the approval of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to commence non-scheduled flight operation effective December 15th, 2024.
The NCAA, in a letter dated December 11, 2024 and addressed to Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, said the approval of the non-scheduled operations under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) at the airport is for a period of six months- December 15, 2024 to June 15, 2025.
The letter, which was signed by NCAA Acting Director General Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, was in response to the state government’s application for flight operational permit for the airport.
According to NCAA, the approval for a six months non-schedule operation at the airport is to enable the NCAA validate the implementation of the pending findings and to allow Ekiti State Government time to rectify a few outstanding Corrective Action items indicated in the agency’s last inspection report.
As part of compliance steps towards the commencement of the non-scheduled flight operations at the airport, operations are to be in agreement with relevant agencies for provision of essential services, including Air Traffic Services, Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting Services, Aviation Security and Meteorological services.
It will be recalled that the State government had earlier signed MoUs and Service Level Agreements with these federal aviation agencies.
The Government of Ekiti State welcomes NCAA’s approval for the non-scheduled flight operation, which allows private jets and other chartered flights to land and take off from the airport between 6.00am to 6.00pm (or sunrise to sunset), preparatory to the final approval for commercial flight operations.
Most new airports are usually given non-scheduled flight approval to allow them clear audit gaps in their compliance before final approval for flight operational permit.
Governor Biodun Oyebanji describes the NCAA’s approval as a welcome development and a justification for the state’s investment in the airport project, which was designed to boost Ekiti State’s socioeconomic development by making the state more readily accessible.
Governor Oyebanji had earlier in the year assured stakeholders that the Ekiti airport would become operational before the end of the year.
On the other hand, the former Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State said in an interview I read online that the former President Muhammed Buhari had given him firm assurances that a rail spur would be constructed to link Ekiti State from Osogbo in Osun State. A rail line linking Ekiti State directly to Osogbo and on to the existing Ibadan to Lagos rail lines for cargo haulage and passenger movements would have been awesome BUT it wasn't actualized before the former President Muhammed Buhari left office in 2023.
It would be ideal for the current Governor of Ekiti State to firmly lobby President Bola Tinubu's government and the ministry responsible for transportation to have that rail spur done ASAP (starting from 2025 or 2026) before he leaves office so that Ekiti State can be connected to the nearby Osun State and hence further boost the economy of that state. Rail cargo movement is still cheaper in my opinion. Ondo State too can be connected by the rail line to Ekiti.
Same thing should be done for other viable states around Nigeria that have no rail connections yet to link them up with nearby states that already have rail lines to further boost their economies.
VikingKing: quote]Swiss cement maker Holcim will exit its Nigerian business through the sale of its nearly 84 per cent stake in Lafarge Africa to China’s Huaxin Cement, the firm announced in a statement on Sunday.
The sale price was $1bn for a 100 per cent stake.
It stated, “The sale aligns with Holcim’s strategy to streamline its portfolio and focus on high-growth regions, including the upcoming spin-off of its North American business, which remains on track for a US listing in the first half of 2025.
“The transaction is expected to close in 2025, subject to regulatory approval, according to Holcim’s statement, which did not provide further details on the reason for this specific sale.”
In November 2023, Holcim said it had signed deals to sell its businesses in Uganda and Tanzania, further advancing its strategy to consolidate leadership in core markets as the global leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions.
According to Reuters, the deal marks the latest in a series of African acquisitions by Huaxin Cement.
Last year, it also announced the purchase of South Africa’s Natal Portland Cement Company.
Holcim had been focusing on sustainable growth in its core markets, higher-margin products, and strategic infrastructure investments.
The company is also working to enhance its environmental credentials, having taken a stake in Sublime Systems, a U.S. tech start-up focused on low-carbon cement.
SULBELL: in the midst of the Tax reform bill controversy, the deduction of the N50 Electronic transfer levy for transactions above N10,000 have started across Fintech payment platform.
This begs the question how this will encourage cashless policy?
It is regressive in my own opinion. A peasant receiving N10,000 is parting away with 0.5% of his income while a well-established business receiving N100,000 will be parting away with only 0.05%.
This will discourage cashless policy on many fronts.
The Federal Government (FG) has commenced the implementation of the N50 Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) on transactions of ₦10,000 and above conducted through financial technology (fintech) companies such as Opay, Moniepoint, Kuda, and others. Introduced under the Finance Act 2020, the EMTL is a one-off levy charged to the recipient of any electronic receipt or transfer of ₦10,000 or more.
Initially slated to take effect from September 9, 2024, its implementation was delayed until December 1, 2024, following public opposition. Various groups, including the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), had urged the Federal Government to reconsider the levy, citing economic hardships faced by Nigerians. In compliance with directives from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), fintech companies have now begun deducting the levy. Notifications sent to customers by fintech platforms confirm that the levy is now active.
Opay, in a message to its users on Saturday, December 1, reiterated its compliance with FIRS regulations, stating: “Dear Customer, in line with the FIRS, the EMTL applies starting from December 1, 2024.” The company clarified that the deductions are remitted entirely to the federal government and that it does not benefit from the charges. Click
Similarly, Moniepoint announced the commencement of the levy deductions in a notice to its customers, explaining: “Dear customer, you will be charged stamp duty of ₦50 on inflows of ₦10,000 and above. Moniepoint collects and remits this on behalf and to FIRS.” This development has sparked renewed criticism, with many Nigerians expressing concerns about the impact of the deductions on already strained personal and business finances. While the EMTL aims to generate additional revenue for the government, its implementation underscores the growing burden of levies on electronic transactions in the country.
seunlayi: CBN and our government sef, dem say make we go cashless, we follow do cashless... when cashless don dey sweet us, dem say dem go dey collect ₦50 on top any ₦10k we received. If I say it is well, you supposed know I meant otherwise If CBN missed road, Na compulsory for the man wey promised say economy go better to follow dem missed road? Anyways, if I supposed send you ₦100k on Opay, prepare to count the number of credit alert you go received... Just dey expect 11 credits of 9,500 each and the 11th go carry the final ₦5k.

Lanrelagboi: Allowing a non-State actor to wage war against a country’s Armed Forces is the sort of thing that has engendered chaos in countries like Sudan. The impunity with which Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo is operating, making false and baseless allegations against the Nigerian military, is very concerning and disturbing.
Every couple of months now, Tompolo repeats a strategy he seems to have perfected -- he goes to town with a sensational accusation against the military.
This is very sad. A man who is paid with public funds to support law enforcement agencies with community surveillance, should not be allowed to wage a media war of misinformation and disinformation against those he’s meant to be supporting.
It is concerning enough that Tantita regularly takes credit for the achievements of the military in the Niger Delta. It is outrightly dangerous that he makes all manner of false accusations to undermine them.
The major successes Nigeria has seen in fight against oil theft have come primarily from the heroic efforts of the Nigerian Navy and other security agencies – not from the private contractors who exist mainly to provide community-based surveillance.
On more than one occasion, Tantita has illegally boarded and harassed vessels that have been cleared by NNPCL, NUPRC and NMDPRA. Affected vessels include MT PRESTIGIOUS and MT MONTAGU, in May 2024, and MT LADY MARTINA in November 2024, causing a production disruption that deprived Nigeria of hundreds of thousands of barrels of crude oil.
These vessels were all arbitrarily and baselessly intercepted and harassed by Tantita, despite having all the necessary clearance and documentation for product loading. The only explanation for these actions by Tantita is an intent to extort, a gross violation of the enabling environment vision of the Tinubu administration.
Tantita is not the only private maritime security company in Nigerian waters, there are many others working assiduously with the military and other security agencies. This begs the question: why is it only Tantita sticking out like a sore thumb?
On a positive note, from the military, the substantial investments of the previous and current administrations in bolstering the Navy’s operational capabilities, through the acquisition of new platforms and technology, have been paying off quite impressively.
Nigeria’s exit from the International Maritime Bureau’s Piracy List was the outcome of the Nigerian state-of-the-art Navy’s Falcon Eye system, which was commissioned in 2021, supported by the Deep Blue project of NIMASA - whose assets, by the way, are manned and operated by the Navy.
Following the 2022 exit from the Piracy List, there was the landmark interdiction of the Heroic Idun tanker that was illegally trying to take crude oil out of the country. The Nigerian Navy pulled off a most impressive feat, working with regional partners. This effort and many others did not feature Tantita in any way -- in any case, Tantita does not have the capacity or capability to even do any work in Nigeria’s deep offshore waters, where the security stakes are highest.
Mention must also be made of the increasing levels of security coordination in the maritime environment, led by the Office of the National Security Adviser, with the Nigerian Navy as the lead operating agency, and the support of various other agencies. All hands have been on deck, but Tantita does not seem to be pleased with this state of affairs. The Nigerian media have a lot of work to do, and tough questions to ask.
Close watchers know that there is a direct connection between Operation Delta Sanity, launched by the Chief of Naval Staff in January 2024, and the steady surge in oil production levels this year, such that Nigeria is now gearing up to hit a production of 2 million barrels of oil and condensate per day.
In October 2024, Operation Delta Sanity resulted in the destruction of 23 illegal refining sites, 30 ovens, 26 reservoirs, 19 dugout pits, 21 wooden boats, and the recovery of large quantities of crude oil and diesel.
There is no doubt that the challenge of oil theft is still with us. But there is equally no doubt that the Nigerian Navy and other security agencies have been raising the stakes against the criminal elements behind this theft, and associated illegal refining; and the reported incidents of theft are slowly but surely declining.
The results are evident in rising production levels, and the increasing confidence of onshore operators. Gratifyingly, both the NUPRC and NMDPRA confirm that the Trans-Forcados and Trans-Niger Pipelines have consistently recorded 100 percent output for many months.
It seems like Tompolo and his Tantita desperately want the credit for this, and the only way they can do this is to undermine and blackmail the Nigerian military. But my interactions with senior military personnel make it clear that they will not be deterred by what the Defence Headquarters recently described as “cheap blackmail.” And this is also a call on all the professional organizations that keep legitimizing Tantita’s unprovoked attacks on the military, to please step back and try and interrogate Tantita’s claims. The ability to rush to the media to make unfounded allegations should not confer any validity to the allegations.
By their very nature, the military will not descend into the gutters of mudslinging with non-state actors who appear driven to desperation by pecuniary considerations.
Tantita should focus on its pipeline surveillance contract and leave the military to its constitutional duties. A country that allows non-state actors to carry on like this is laying a dangerous precedent that will ultimately backfire. A word is enough for the wise.

richiemcgold: Finnish authorities have given reasons why the controversial pro-Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa, cannot be granted bail in Finland.
A Senior Detective Superintendent at Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation, Mikko Laaksonen, told Punch newspaper on Saturday that the Finnish legal system does not permit bail for suspects accused of the kind of offences Mr Ekpa is accused of.
PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported that Mr Ekpa was arrested alongside four others on 21 November on suspicion of terrorist activities.
The Finnish police said Mr Ekpa “has contributed to violence and crimes against civilians in South-eastern Nigeria.”
The District Court of Päijät-Häme later ordered that the pro-Biafra agitator be imprisoned “with probable cause on suspicion of public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent.”
He is expected to face charges in May 2025, according to Finnish authorities.
Mr Ekpa was indicted for financing terrorism alongside the four other suspects. The police have a suspicion that the Biafra agitator committed the crime of collecting money in violation of the Finnish Money Collection Act. The Finnish police said he allegedly committed the crimes between 23 August 2021 and 18 November 2024 in Lahti, a town in Finland.
IPOB is a group leading the agitation for an independent state of Biafra, which it wants carved out from the south-east and some parts of south-south Nigeria. The separatist group has been linked to some deadly attacks in the two regions, although it has repeatedly denied its involvement in the attacks.
Meanwhile, hours after the arrest, the IPOB faction loyal to Mr Kanu disowned Mr Ekpa last Friday, explaining that the pro-Biafra agitator was never their member.
When asked if Mr Ekpa’s charges were bailable or if the prosecution was disposed to releasing him on bail, Mr Laaksonen responded, “Finnish criminal procedure/coercive measures do not recognise bail procedure. Our procedure is based on, depending on the case, remand or travel ban as coercive measures for limiting freedom of movement for persons suspected of offences to which such measures are applicable.”
theafricadailyp: Prince Johnson, a former Liberian warlord and influential politician, has died at the age of 72. Family spokesperson Wilfred Bangura confirmed on Thursday morning that Johnson, who had been suffering from high blood pressure, passed away earlier in the day.
Johnson became a notorious figure during Liberia’s civil wars (1989–2003), a conflict that claimed over 200,000 lives, displaced more than one million people, and left thousands mutilated or raped. He rose to infamy in 1990 when his forces captured former president Samuel Doe. In widely circulated footage, Johnson was seen celebrating while his men tortured Doe, including mutilating him by cutting off his ear, before killing him.
Although Johnson later expressed regret for the incident and sought reconciliation with Doe’s family, he was named by Liberia’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission as among those recommended for prosecution for war crimes, including killings and rape. However, he was never brought to trial.
After the war, Johnson transitioned into politics and was elected as a senator for Nimba County in 2006. He played a pivotal role in Liberian presidential politics, backing Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf in 2011, George Weah in 2017, and switching his support to Joseph Boakai in the 2023 election, where Boakai defeated Weah in a run-off.
AmazingGenius: The cost of staple foods like rice, yam, plantains, and beans significantly increased in October 2024, as Nigeria’s headline inflation rate rose to 33.88%, up from 32.7% in September, marking a 1.18 percentage point increase.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics Consumer Price Index report, the rise in inflation can be largely attributed to increased transportation costs and higher food prices. This represents a significant economic challenge, as inflation remains a persistent issue, deeply impacting the cost of living for millions of Nigerians.
These sharp price increases in staple foods have significantly strained households, particularly those in lower-income brackets.
In October 2024, Nigeria’s headline inflation rate rose to 33.88%, up from 32.7% in September, marking a 1.18 percentage point increase.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics Consumer Price Index report, the rise in inflation can be largely attributed to increased transportation costs and higher food prices. This represents a significant economic challenge, as inflation remains a persistent issue, deeply impacting the cost of living for millions of Nigerians.
In particular, the price of staple foods has continued to rise sharply, reflecting broader economic challenges.
Among the ten most expensive staple foods in Nigeria in October 2024, significant price increases were recorded in several key items:
1. Local Rice (Sold Loose):
Local rice saw a remarkable price increase of 137.32% year-on-year. The average price in October 2024 reached N1,944.64, compared to N819.42 in October 2023. This price surge reflects ongoing inflationary pressures and supply chain challenges. The increase was further compounded by a 2.95% month-on-month rise, with prices across states showing substantial variation. The highest price was recorded in Nasarawa, where the average cost reached N3,120.49.
3. Ripe Plantain:
Ripe plantain, a staple in many Nigerian households, saw a price increase of 140.19% year-on-year, bringing the average price to N1,507.21 in October 2024, up from N627.50 in the previous year. Month-on-month, the price rose modestly by 0.45%, from N1,500.43 in September 2024. The price of ripe plantain varied greatly across Nigeria, with Edo State having the highest price at N2,245.33, and Taraba recording the lowest at N600.
4. Medium-Sized Agric Eggs:
Eggs, a critical source of protein in Nigeria, saw an exceptional price increase of 140.21% year-on-year, with the average price reaching N2,671.60 in October 2024, up from N1,112.22 in October 2023. The price surge was especially notable in the month-on-month comparison, with a 7.42% increase, rising from N2,487.04 in September 2024. Bauchi had the highest price for medium-sized eggs at N3,450.00, while Adamawa recorded the lowest price at N2,050.00.
5. Imported High-Quality Rice (Sold Loose):
Imported high-quality rice, known for its superior quality, saw a 143.21% increase in price, rising from N1,016.12 in October 2023 to N2,471.28 in October 2024. This surge reflects both local inflationary pressures and volatility in global rice markets, which have been exacerbated by the weak naira. Prices of imported rice also increased 2.80% from N2,403.86 in September 2024, with Kogi State recording the highest price of N3,187.35, and Niger having the lowest at N2,017.04.
6. Yam Tubers:
Yam tubers, a core food item in Nigerian cuisine, saw a substantial price rise of 148.02% year-on-year, with an average price of N1,705.58 in October 2024, compared to N687.68 in the previous year. This dramatic increase was driven by a variety of factors, including high transportation costs and disruptions in yam farming caused by adverse weather conditions. The price increased 2.22% month-on-month, from N1,668.49 in September 2024. Kwara State had the highest price for yam tubers at N4,011.57, while Adamawa recorded the lowest price at N775.00.
7. Unripe Plantain:
Unripe plantain, another popular staple, saw an eye-watering price increase of 152.26% year-on-year. The average price in October 2024 was N1,539.66, up from N610.34 in the previous year. Prices rose 1.89% month-on-month, from N1,511.09 in September 2024. The highest price for unripe plantain was reported in Akwa Ibom, where the price reached N2,220.14, while Borno had the lowest price at N822.01.
8. Broken Rice (Ofada Rice):
Local varieties of rice, particularly Ofada rice, experienced an extraordinary price surge of 199.16% year-on-year, with the average price rising from N811.83 in October 2023 to N2,428.65 in October 2024. The price increased 2.93% month-on-month, from N2,359.47 in September 2024. Osun State reported the highest price for broken rice at N3,400.00, while Adamawa had the lowest price at N1,425.00.
9. White Beans (Black Eyed):
The price of white beans (black-eyed beans) surged by 238.04% year-on-year, reaching an average price of N2,603.32 in October 2024, up from N770.13 in October 2023. Month-on-month, the price increased slightly by 0.94%, from N2,579.02 in September 2024. The highest price for white beans was reported in Akwa Ibom at N3,199.58, while Yobe had the lowest price at N1,643.62.
10. Brown Beans:
Brown beans, the most expensive staple in Nigeria in October 2024, experienced a staggering 254.23% price increase year-on-year, with an average price of N2,798.50 in October 2024, compared to N790.01 in October 2023. This is the highest price increase of all the food items listed. Brown beans also saw a 2.19% month-on-month rise, from N2,738.59 in September 2024. Bauchi State reported the highest price for brown beans at N3,750.00, while Yobe had the lowest price at N1,749.52.
The sharp price increases in staple foods like rice, yam, plantains, and beans have placed significant strain on households, particularly those in lower-income brackets. Factors contributing to the rising food prices include high transportation costs, inflation in the agricultural sector, and climatic disruptions affecting local food production.
The rising inflation in Nigeria continues to challenge the economic stability of millions of households. With food prices sharply increasing and essential goods becoming increasingly unaffordable for many, the government must prioritize measures to curb inflation and provide support for vulnerable populations.
LocalFARMERS: This is the simple method I used to cook Goat head with bitter leaf. Few weeks ago, I went to drink on a weekend. I asked for pepper soup, they said it's finished. That, they only have Goat head. I ordered for a plate of Goat head and I like how it was prepared.
They did not prepare it like the usual Isiewu that is prepared with the Goat brain. In this case the brain is removed and they added bitter leaf. Few days later, I went to the market and buy 2 Goat heads. Which I used to prepare a replica of what I was served at the Bar.

Morbeta11: BREAKING: Former Central Bank Governor Emefiele Is Nigerian 'Top Brass' Who Owns 753 Duplexes In Abuja Estate Forfeited To EFCC
A former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, owns the large estate in Abuja with 753 duplexes forfeited to the Nigerian government through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in a court ruling on Monday.
Human rights activist and convener of #RevolutionNow Movement, Omoyele Sowore, confirmed the development in a post on social media.
Emefiele is standing trial on several charges bordering on corruption, including in the new naira redesign before the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court in Maitama, Abuja.
Justice Maryann Anenih had adjourned the matter till December 4, 2024, and January 21, 2025 for continuation of trial.
Sowore had earlier blasted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for refusing to name the former Nigerian “top brass” who owned the large estate in Abuja with 753 duplexes.
Sowore, former presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 general elections, had noted on Monday that the EFFC is now afraid of big thieves and has become their public relations officer.
In an update, the human rights activist said, "I just heard from the grapevine that the 753 duplexes forfeited by an FCT court in Apo belong to Muhammadu Buhari's CBN gov, Godwin Emefiele."
SaharaReporters earlier reported that Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie, on Monday, ordered the final forfeiture of an estate in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, measuring 150,500 square metres and containing 753 Units of duplexes and other apartments.
The EFCC said in a release that this was the single largest asset recovery by the Commission since its inception in 2003.
The estate rests on Plot 109 Cadastral Zone C09, Lokogoma District, Abuja.
According to Sowore, the same EFCC which deliberately refused to name the seized 753 duplexes Abuja estate boldly and without commencement of court trial, published names and photos of yahoo boys with proud display of laptops and small Nokia phones.
Sowore, who said this in a post on his verified social media account wrote, “What is the name of the "former top brass" with 753 duplexes seized by the EFCC in Abuja?
“The @officialEFCC is now doing PR for thieves. They seized this large estate with 753 duplexes from a single individual in Abuja but can't mention his or her name.
“If it is Yahoo boys, they will line laptops and Nokia phones in front of them and send their photos globally even before their trial is commenced. The same EFCC is now AFRAID of BIG Thieves!”
In another post, Sowore wrote, “They have told you every day since the days of the Structural Adjustment Program of IBB and Co. that the government has no business building houses for citizens, but a "TOP Brass" stole from citizens and built 753 duplexes for himself.”
"The forfeiture of the property to the federal government by a former top brass of the government was pursuant to EFCC’s mandate and policy directive of ensuring that the corrupt and fraudulent do not enjoy the proceeds of their unlawful activities.
"In this instance, the Commission relied on Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud And Other Fraud Related Offences Act No 14, 2006 and Section 44 (2) B of the Constitution of the 199 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to push its case," the EFCC had said.
Ruling on the Commission’s application for the final forfeiture of the property, Justice Onwuegbuzie held that the respondent have not shown cause as to why he should not lose the property, “which has been reasonably suspected to have been acquired with proceeds of unlawful activities, the property is hereby finally forfeited to the federal government.”
NwaNimo1: EFCC announces biggest asset recovery as govt official forfeits estate with 753 duplexes
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday announced the single largest asset recovery since its inception in 2003.
The development followed a ruling by Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie of the Federal Capital Territory High Court on the final forfeiture of an Abuja estate measuring 150,500 square metres and containing 753 units of duplexes and other apartments.
According to the EFCC, the estate, located on Plot 109 Cadastral Zone C09, Lokogoma District, Abuja, belonged to a government official.
“The forfeiture of the property to the federal government by a former top brass of the government was pursuant to EFCC’s mandate and policy directive of ensuring that the corrupt and fraudulent do not enjoy the proceeds of their unlawful activities,” the statement added.
The EFCC said it relied on Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud And Other Fraud Related Offences Act No 14, 2006 and Section 44 (2) B of the Constitution of the 199 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to push its case.
Ruling on the Commission’s application for the final forfeiture of the property, Justice Onwuegbuzie held that the respondent have not shown cause as to why he should not lose the property, “which has been reasonably suspected to have been acquired with proceeds of unlawful activities”.
“The property is hereby finally forfeited to the Federal Government,” the judge declared, according to the statement.
The statement added, “The road to the final forfeiture of the property was paved by an interim forfeiture order, secured before the same Judge on November 1, 2024.
“The government official which fraudulently built the estate is being investigated by the EFCC. The forfeiture of the asset is an important modality of depriving the suspect of the proceeds of the crime.
“The justification for the forfeiture is derived from Part 2, Section 7 of the EFCC Establishment Act, which stipulates that the EFCC “has power to cause investigations to be conducted as to whether any person, corporate body or organization has committed any offence under this Act or other law relating to economic and financial crimes and cause investigations to be conducted into the properties of any person if it appears to the Commission that the person’s lifestyle and extent of the properties are not justified by his source of income.”
The statement added that EFCC chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has repeatedly described asset recovery as pivotal in the fight against corruption, describing it as a major disincentive against the corrupt and the fraudulent.
Addressing members of the House of Representatives Committee on Anti-corruption recently, he said, “If you understand the intricacies involved in financial crimes investigation and prosecution you will discover that to recover one billion naira is war.
“So, I told my people that the moment we start investigation we must also start asset tracing because asset recovery is pivotal in the anti-corruption fight; and one of the potent instruments that you can deploy as an anti-corruption agency for an effective fight is asset tracing and recovery.
Gistmedia10: Social media user ThatBlessedGirl stirred online conversations with her post:
"Girls will think men are easy and cheap to get. Until it’s time to get married. You’ll realise that commitment from men might even require you to go to Shiloh."
This statement highlights the challenges women face when seeking long-term commitment from men, particularly in the context of marriage. The mention of Shiloh, a well-known annual Christian prayer retreat, implies the level of spiritual dedication some may feel is necessary to secure a serious commitment.
Netizens flooded the comment section with divided opinions. Some agreed, sharing personal experiences of how men often hesitate to commit, while others felt it unfairly placed blame on women.
pansophist: Let the immigrants do things the right way, then they won't be subjected to such dehumanization. It's as simple as that.
That's not a "Morocco fault", but the immigrants fault. Nigerians needs visa to enter here, but if anyone refuse to follow established rules, then suffer the consequences.
Lots of Moroccans are poor, in fact I have to share my food with a homeless girl of about 7 years old, who was begging me for food in KFC. I felt such pity. Such things are normal in Morrocco.
Moroccans themselves are suffering. The poverty level is very high. But somehow, immigrants want to come and be wealthy due to fake promises which they paid for.
@Pansophist
Succinctly stated.
Indeed, some of the interior Berber (Amazighe) regions of Morocco have a high rate of poverty.
Due diligence and following the legal path of traveling is key while embarking on any foreign travel plans, but when you tell some folks from Nigeria and other West African countries online and offline about the dangers of NOT carrying out due diligence, they tend to think you DON'T want them to make progress in life.
Right now, more than half of Burkina Faso is under the control of JNIM which is the major jihadist Islamist terror group in that country. JNIM is originally headquartered in Mali where MORE than half of Mali is already in their control with 3 other jihadist groups further threatening the Sahelian West Africa stability. Yet some highly irresponsible agents are still selling false hopes of a good life in Burkina Faso to gullible people. They'll definitely learn the hard way.
About 10,000 passengers were affected overnight on Wednesday and Gatwick said 110,000 people were due to either take off or land at the airport on Thursday.
Incoming planes were diverted to other airports including London Heathrow, Luton, Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow, Paris and Amsterdam.
Crowds of travellers spent the morning waiting inside Gatwick's terminal for updates, while others reported being stuck on grounded planes for hours.
Airports and drones: The law
In the UK it is illegal to fly a drone within 1km of an airport or airfield boundary and flying above 400ft (120m) - which increases the risk of a collision with a manned aircraft - is also banned.
Endangering the safety of an aircraft is a criminal offence which can carry a prison sentence of five years.
The shutdown started just after 21:00 on Wednesday when two drones were spotted flying "over the perimeter fence and into where the runway operates from".
The runway briefly reopened at 03:01 on Thursday but was closed again about 45 minutes later due to "a further sighting of drones".
The airport said at about 12:00 a drone had been spotted "in the last hour".
Gatwick chief operating officer Chris Woodroofe said: "The police are looking for the operator and that is the way to disable the drone."
He said police had not wanted to shoot the devices down because of the risk from stray bullets.
He said it remained unsafe to reopen the airport after the drone had been spotted too close to the runway.
Mr Woodroofe added: "If we were to reopen today we will first repatriate passengers who are in the wrong place which could take several days."
The police operation
More than 20 police units from two forces are searching for the perpetrator, who could face up to five years in jail.
Supt Justin Burtenshaw, head of armed policing for Sussex and Surrey, described attempts to catch whoever was controlling the drones as "painstaking" because it was "a difficult and challenging thing to locate them".
"Each time we believe we get close to the operator, the drone disappears; when we look to reopen the airfield, the drone reappears," he said.
AbujaBlue: The British Army has deployed "specialist equipment" to Gatwick Airport as the travel chaos caused by drone activity shows no sign of abating.
It comes as Easyjet has cancelled all of its flights from Gatwick for the rest of the day.
The airline, the biggest operator at the airport, said there was "no indication" when Gatwick would reopen.
Tens of thousands of passengers on several airlines have been disrupted by drones flying over the airport.
In a tweet, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson had confirmed the military deployment.
He said: "The armed forces have a range of unique capabilities and this isn't something we would usually deploy but we are there to assist and do everything we can so that they are in a position to open the airport at the earliest opportunity."
Officials from various government departments have been meeting and the prime minister is being kept informed.
Theresa May's spokesman said: "This is a serious incident, it's causing widespread disruption for passengers.
"The intention, obviously, is that it should be brought to a close as soon as possible."
Sussex Police said the drone activity was not terror-related but was a "deliberate act" of disruption, using "industrial specification" drones.
Gatwick chief executive Stewart Wingate agreed it was a "highly targeted activity" and added: "It cannot be right that drones can close a vital part of our national infrastructure in this way. This is obviously a relatively new technology and we need to think through together the right solutions to make sure it cannot happen again."
He is still "not in a position to say when it will be safe to reopen the airport".
About 110,000 passengers on 760 flights were due to fly on Thursday, but 633 flights were cancelled.
Transport Secretary Chris Grayling said: "We'll do everything we can to ensure that if Gatwick is not open again quickly that we can get [passengers] away from other airports."
He could not confirm whether the perpetrators were close to being caught but added: "There's a huge amount of effort going on - we've got up-to-date technology, we've brought special technology into Gatwick to try and track this down."
Bump.
This Gatwick Airport event from 6 years ago is a reminder of the dangers of illegally operated drones to air travel safety and more.
pansophist: The food just dey there jare. I mean, you can't compare it with Nigeria where the ingredients are fresh and authentic.
It's hot, largely portioned, good meat-soup ratio, nice ambience, reasonably priced, awesome customer services, fresh, and opened until 1am.
Although they lacked flexibility. I asked for a mixture of egusi and vegetable soup and I got a sharp NO. But the girl fine sha, so I no vex.
I'm easy to satisfy, so for me, it's above pass mark. But if you're coming from Nigeria to visit, don't come here looking for Nigerian food.
Enjoy Chinese, Jamaican, Morrocaan and other dishes, then go Naija and eat Nigerian. I flew from Scandinavia, so there is no Naija restaurant there.
All in all, it was a good experience. Tonight, I'll masticate some KFC bucket of chicken
Insightful.
Nice to know that this travel thread is still going on steadily with unique insights since I FIRST read it in 2023.
It's strange though that Jamaican cuisine (which in terms of ingredients and style of cooking is majorly of African origin and tropical like that of Nigeria) would be readily appealing to the taste buds in Morocco than Nigerian foods.
It's still a scenic country to visit as a tourist, BUT it's a horrid place for male and female migrants who are stranded while facing dehumanizing conditions in that country after paying agents and making the journey through the Sahara Desert from West African countries.
Beremx: how many strollers have you seen people using in Nigeria? Wrapper is far better than stroller. Imagine going to Oshodi market with stroller, pikin go lost inside stroller you no go know
Bump.
The bolded section above crack me up here... The imaginary imagery of a baby "evaporating" into thin air from a stroller is indeed hilarious.
A baby carrier which a man can strap to his front with his shoulders as a support in a mall or public is more urbane and cute than that man's style (in the attached picture by @Uka) of tieing a baby on his back in public with a tiny wrapper. That looks emasculating to me tbh.
ukaface: God Abeg So this diary wey I get don make me popular laidiz??😂😂 And he decided to travel to France with his dad? Like it’s seeming like a family business, family vacation. What is the purpose of him going to France now?
I don’t need google translator to write Yoruba.
It's NOT uncommon for children of world leaders to accompany their parents on foreign trips. It's infact the norm worldwide. Donald Trump travelled with Ivanka Trump and other family members during his first-term Presidency, the Bushs, Clintons, the Obamas, went on foreign trips whilst in office with their families. Justin Trudeau, the Canadian PM travels with his family too.
It's important to know that these foreign visits provide an opportunity for the children of Presidents to witness how diplomacy and cultural exchanges work... While assisting their parents in private emergency situations such as when at a forum in Saudi Arabia on how to combat extremism, Ivanka Trump had to stand in for her father when he got tired.
Oh, that's impressive. It's indeed great to be multilingual as this helps anyone to take advantage of opportunities that exist in different linguistic and cultural environments. Even though your dad is Edo and mum from Anambra, I can affirm that high quality Yoruba guys (even those in the UK where you are) will get more attracted to you on the dating scene simply because you speak and write some Yoruba (this of course is predicted on other factors such as character and personal values).
It's the same with men in other linguistic groups worldwide who find women who speak their languages attractive. A French man would subconsciously find a lady from another culture and country who speaks some French intriguing. That's the way a significant number of men are subsconciously wired.
I'll ask you a more private question later on another thread.
