Napata77: I felt this heartfelt apology from a South African lady over the terrible treatment meted out on Queen Chidinma Adetshina by her fellow South Africans, and so I decided to share it with Nairalanders.
The woman was almost in tears, pleading that we forgive them because they are still suffering from the psychological damage inflicted by the Apartheid system of the past.
I watched the full video here. The South Africans were RIGHT in pointing out the IDENTITY theft and immigration fraud that this girl and her Enugu-born father and Mozambican mother committed in 2001 with the help of 3 corrupt South African officials of the Department of Home Affairs. On August 20 2024, the final SA DHA and SA Parliament session viral video CLEARLY stated that Chidimma's father was ALSO aware of the 2001 fraud because he signed some illegal hospital documents. So, both he and his wife were involved in the embarrassing FRAUD aided by those corrupt 3 South Africans.
Chidimma was NOT also born at the Chris Hani Hospital in Soweto that she had been telling the SA and Nigerian media that she was born in. In FACT Chidimma's family is NOT a role model at all because of the pack of LIES they have built around their family's identity over the years culminating in South Africans finally discovering that Chidimma has NO Zulu grandmother and she couldn't even speak Zulu! If Chidimma has a Zulu grandmother, she would have automatically transfered her South African citizenship to her Mozambican daughter and the Mozambican woman would have transferred it to Chidimma... It's automatic citizenship.
This is the reason why South Africa eventually withdrew the illegally acquired South African citizenship from Chidimma, her father, her mother and all those who have benefited from the FRAUD over the years. Chidimma's family should be grateful to the current Nigerian Federal Government and even Abike Dabiri-Erewa's NITDO for saving them from prosecution because if it was another more ruthless government, they would have sent Chidimma, her father and mother back to South Africa for criminal prosecution along with those corrupt South Africans who helped them to get the stolen IDENTITY of another woman. The Nigerian government officials are aware of the LIES and fraud Chidimma's family did but had no choice but to take them in.
NO country on earth would allow such open act of criminality when outsiders come in illegally and claim to be citizens. It's like saying illegals come into Nigeria from Mali, Niger, Cameroon, Chad, etc, steal Nigerian IDENTITIES and proceed to file for full citizenship. Nigerians would be appalled by the criminality. That's not xenophobia. South Africa has now upgraded their IDENTITY system and it is fully digitized and advanced thereby leading to the detection of more FAKE identities of up to 700,000 just like in Chidimma's family case. Many will be prosecuted and deported as the months go by.
However, some highly irresponsible young South Africans online took things too far with the cancelled Bolt e-ride requests and that's what got MORE Nigerians involved and pissed off with South Africans.
Housing: Every white cap Chief has family farm outside Lagos Island. Aromire owns Ijora, Badia , Ajegunle and Apapa. Onikoyi farm settle use to be in Ajiran.
Olumegbon family have shown proof of collecting land rents in Ajah as far back as 1930s. They have court judgment supporting it. For the fact that they allowed settlers to be Baale in the past doesn't cancel their ownership of the Land. I am from Ikorodu and I have family that are related to Ajah from Ikorodu as they farm there in the olden days. My lineage are qualify for the Oba stool in Langbasa.
Housing: Stop dabbling into what you know nothing about. Olumegbon had nothing to do with Benin. Olumegbon is purely an Awori and the head of Idejo.
While Ajah belongs to mixtures of Awori and Ijebu. Tapa has no land in Ajah
Indeed, Olumegbon and other white cap chiefs of Lagos Island are direct descendants of Olofin Ogunfunminire of Awori-Yoruba lineage via Ile Ife migration.

Great100000: Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, has revealed that the soon-to-be-introduced electronic FX matching system will address the disconnect between the current naira-to-dollar exchange rate and the naira’s true market value.
Speaking at the Bankers’ Committee Annual Dinner held on November 29, 2024, at Eko Hotel, Lagos, Cardoso emphasized that the system would enhance price discovery and restore stability to the foreign exchange (FX) market.
According to Cardoso, the naira’s current exchange rate reflects the actions of desperate buyers rather than genuine market dynamics.
“The current USD exchange rate reflects the price that the most desperate buyers are willing to pay, and this does not represent the true market value of the naira,” he said. The FX matching system, he noted, will correct these distortions, creating a more transparent and stable FX market.
Tackling FX Market distortions
The electronic FX matching system is part of broader efforts by the CBN to unify Nigeria’s exchange rate and eliminate market distortions.
Over the past year, the CBN has implemented significant reforms, including clearing outstanding foreign exchange obligations, which have bolstered confidence among businesses, particularly manufacturers and airlines.
“The introduction of the FX matching system will enable the Central Bank to monitor the market more effectively and intervene where necessary. This will significantly improve transparency and provide a more accurate reflection of the naira’s value,” Cardoso stated.
Countering disinformation
Cardoso also addressed concerns over the widespread narrative of a persistent demand-supply gap in the FX market, which he believes is fueling unnecessary panic. He emphasized that such disinformation has distorted perceptions of the FX market’s true state.
“Disinformation about a supposed demand-supply gap has created panic that is unwarranted. The FX matching system will help put an end to this by ensuring that rates reflect actual market activity,” he explained.
The governor further reassured stakeholders that these measures will create a more functional FX market where businesses and individuals can operate with confidence.
Role of Banks in stabilizing the FX Market
Cardoso highlighted the critical role that Nigerian banks must play in ensuring the success of the FX reforms. He pointed out that a well-functioning FX market cannot rely solely on the Central Bank’s periodic interventions.
“An FX market defined solely by when and how the Central Bank buys or sells dollars is inadequate for the needs of a dynamic economy like Nigeria’s. Now is the time for banks to step up to their intermediation and market-making responsibilities,” Cardoso stated.
He urged financial institutions to actively provide tailored solutions to businesses and individuals, enabling them to manage risks and meet their operational needs effectively.
Strengthening Market Confidence
- With the rollout of the electronic FX matching system, the CBN aims to foster greater stability and predictability in the FX market.
- By addressing speculative distortions and ensuring that exchange rates are driven by real demand and supply, the naira is expected to better reflect its true value.
- Cardoso reiterated the CBN’s commitment to maintaining price stability and creating a policy environment conducive to economic growth.
- He expressed optimism that the new measures would restore confidence in Nigeria’s FX market and encourage long-term investments.
lagostrendboy: Lagos, the bustling commercial capital of Nigeria, is not just a melting pot of cultures but also a culinary haven. The city’s diverse population brings flavors from all corners of Nigeria and beyond, creating a vibrant food culture that is loved by locals and visitors alike. Here are six famous foods that Lagosians eat frequently, reflecting the city’s dynamic and delicious culinary scene. Eyes Of Lagos reports, 1. Jollof Rice
Arguably Nigeria’s most famous dish, Jollof rice is a staple in the diet of Lagosians. This one-pot dish, made with rice, tomatoes, peppers, and spices, is a must-have at parties, weddings, and family gatherings. Lagosians often pair Jollof rice with fried plantains (dodo), grilled chicken, or fish.
Jollof rice isn’t just food; it’s a cultural icon, sparking debates about the best recipe and holding a special place in the hearts of Lagosians. 2. Ewa Agoyin
Ewa Agoyin is a beloved street food that epitomizes the hustle and bustle of Lagos life. Made with soft, mashed beans served with a spicy pepper sauce, this dish is simple yet packed with flavor. Ewa Agoyin is often paired with freshly baked bread (agege bread), making it a popular breakfast or lunch choice for Lagosians on the go.
Street vendors across Lagos are known for their secret recipes for the pepper sauce, which keeps customers coming back for more. 3. Suya
Suya is a smoky, spicy meat skewer that has become a favorite evening snack for Lagosians. Made from beef, chicken, or goat meat, the suya is coated with a blend of ground peanuts, chili, and spices before being grilled to perfection.
Suya spots, often run by Hausa vendors, are scattered across Lagos and attract crowds in the evenings. It’s a favorite for social gatherings, paired with onions, tomatoes, and the occasional cold drink. 4. Amala and Ewedu
A traditional dish originating from the Yoruba people, amala is a favorite among Lagosians. Made from yam or cassava flour, amala is typically served with a slimy, nutrient-rich ewedu soup, and a spicy stew (obe ata). It’s often accompanied by assorted meats, fish, or ponmo (cow skin).
Amala joints are a common sight in Lagos, and the dish is particularly popular in areas like Surulere and Ikeja, where “buka” spots serve it with authenticity and flavor. 5. Indomie Noodles
A modern-day staple, Indomie noodles have become a go-to meal for many Lagosians, especially young people and busy professionals. Quick and easy to prepare, Indomie is often customized with toppings like fried eggs, vegetables, or sausages.
In Lagos, roadside vendors have taken Indomie to the next level, offering “Indomie Special” dishes with added ingredients like suya, chicken, or shrimp. 6. Akara and Pap
A quintessential Lagos breakfast, akara (bean cakes) and pap (fermented corn pudding) is a comforting meal that many Lagosians grew up eating. Akara is made by frying blended black-eyed beans seasoned with onions and peppers, while pap is a creamy, slightly sour pudding.
This combination is loved for its simplicity and affordability, often served by street vendors or prepared at home on weekends. Conclusion
Lagos is a city where food is not just sustenance but a way of life. The dishes Lagosians eat frequently reflect the city’s vibrant culture, blending traditional flavors with modern convenience. From the party favorite Jollof rice to the quick and satisfying Indomie noodles, these meals are a testament to the creativity and diversity of Lagosian cuisine. Whether you’re visiting or a local, these foods are must-tries to truly experience the culinary heartbeat of Lagos.
Tbh, the famous Yoruba-styled smoky party jollof rice with marinated turkey/chicken and dodo is very tasty. I even love it more when bay leaves are infused into the jollof rice. Dayum!
Second, Ofada rice and the specially made ofada stew and/or ayamase stew combos are lit.
The OP's list left out asun (barbecued goat meat), BOLI (roasted/grilled plantains) and grilled marinated fish OR BOLI and peanuts as part of the neat Lagos street foods.
aviationguy: I had a bitter experience if I knew I shouldn't have allowed my wife to register for the Gym,but what more can I do I can't send her packing due to my 3 kids future l.
Because certainly it will affect them as they grow up in Life.
I will never advise anyone to allow his wife to register for any Gym......is a new form of olosho for married women now.
Whoa! That must have hurt badly because we men hate feminine betrayals, are territorial and like protecting our women.
Indeed the gym is one of the top places females get to meet romantic partners BUT the downside is that a married lady who is disconnected emotionally could be tempted to date someone she has met in the gym. Lessons get learned everyday by male folks who are just realizing that women are NOT prudes. They crave for adventures too but because of societal conditionings, they tend to pretend or be circumspect.
It's BETTER to have in-house gym and recreational facilities just like Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde's aircraft pilot spouse, Mathew Ekeinde who has a gym for the use of everyone at home.
This isn't new. For the veterans, these facts have been known for decades. Workouts usually get the hormones pumped up and things kick right in or escalate to another level.
Who is Seyi tinubu? Does he have an office in presidency? Why did he travel to France ? Is it a family vacation thingy?
Abi I ru palapala wo leleyi bayi?
@ukaface
The young man (Seyi) is a well-traveled UK-trained lawyer, a media entrepreneur and he's a rich dude so he can afford to travel separately to France if he wanted to.
On the other hand, I didn't know you could speak and write some Yoruba, OR did you use Google Translate to do this magic? Although I remember reading somewhere some years back where you stated that your father is from Edo and mother from Anambra.
UltraSolid: Help me ask them. It is amazing a people who attach messianic greatness and "born to lead" might to themselves can be so uneducated, untruthful, unrefined and ignorant in talk.
Dangote, a businessman, has his own private Port in Lagos, for crying out loud, that the progressive Lagos Government assisted him to create and use for smooth running of supply and dispatch logistics from his Refinery.
Imagine then saying same Yorubas, who proactively assisted Dangote to own an operational port, will stand in the way of whole States and prevent them owning same. Tinubu delivered so much while an opposition governor to the ruling Party in Nigeria, to include Eko Atlantic plus LFTZ( with it's own port) and even the conceived Lekki international airport.
Yet, all these losers know to do is blame Yorubas for what their leaders don't have the talent, political will and goodness of heart to deliver. Yoruba leaders are doing great things yet all these loser IPOB people, too money-obsessed and worthless to themselves as a group, know to do is lie up and down that Yorubas, and not their leaders, responsible for the wretched state of affairs in their five plots of land. Losers must always blame others for their loses and hopelessness.
[quote author=NLCreator post=133108742]The Northern leaders have allegedly paid all their influencers huge sums of money—I'm talking about 100 million naira and above. From what I heard, the lowest amount collected was 100 million naira.
Let me make this clear: if that bill does not pass, we will all go our separate ways, and you’ll wish you had supported it.
The regional system will be activated automatically. We Yorubas refuse to be part of backwardness. This is the same mindset that made you resist polio vaccines, and we won’t let you drag us down again.
aswani: Let's even say non Ẹdo state people in your list shared the same Eastern region with them,a stretch admittedly, the I still don't understand what Ovb'edo, Ovb'esan and Ovb'afemai have to do with their Biafra.
Except of course, if their foolish pie in a sky BS is exactly that.
There are several Ipob propaganda YouTube videos and crazy articles written online by these sick strands of people among the Igbos claiming that Igodomigodo is Igboland and the Esan are Igbos, that even Igalas are Igbo descendants including Idomas. (They even stated in some of the Ipob YouTube videos I first watched in 2019 that the Oba of Benin will be chased back to Ife where his ancestors came from over 800 years ago). I'm like so, you the Igbos gave birth to all these ethnicities? Of course, it's all a historical fallacy. They even say that these people practice the 4 market days BUT how sure are the Igbos that they are the originators of the 4 markets days (because even the red chieftaincy cap Igbos now wear is of Igala origin and it even spread to areas of Igboland where Igalas had NO direct contact). The new yam festival is practiced by several other ethnic groups from Edos, Yorubas, Tivs, etc, in different towns, in Nigeria, Ashantis for centuries too have new yam festivals in Ghana, including other ethnic groups in West Africa for some centuries now, so, the Igbos especially the Ipob propagandists from the East of River Niger CANNOT continue to claim FALSELY online that because some ethnic groups in Edo practice new yam festival, they are Igbos. Each of the subtribes that are now collectively called Igbos today have borrowed a lot of things in linguistics, religion, cloths, foods, and more from their immediate neighbors.
The red chieftaincy cap is worn in the Middle Belt areas among the Yoruba ethnic group of Kwara and Kogi States, the Ebiras, Igalas, Jukuns, Ngas, etc. Igalas were the ones who brought their red chieftaincy caps from the Middle Belt into the Nsukka area because the Igalas are also indigenous to the Northern parts of Enugu State and Anambra and they historically exist in Ebu and other Igala-associated communities in Asaba, Okpanam, Illah, etc, in Delta North or Anioma. The Anioma towns infact have multiple migrations and ancestries over the centuries from Bini-Edo, Esan-Edo, Yoruba (Olukumis of Ugbodu, Eko Efun or Ukwu Nzu, etc in Aniocha North LGA), Igalas of Ebu (where Agatha Amata of the famous "Inside Out" talk show paternally hails from), etc, and Nri stocks.
The Isokos, Bini-Edo area (the former Igodomigodo), Esan-Edos, Igalas, Okrikas in Rivers State and Opobo in Rivers State, the entire Anioma areas, Ibibios, Calabar, Idomas, and more non-Igbo ethnicities were included in the delusional and criminal 40 secessionist "USB" states in this video above
Second, this is the same blunder the then young graduate of History who learned NOTHING from real world history, Col. Emeka Ojukwu, rtd, and his majorly Igbo rebel secessionists made by including MANY non-Igbo ethnic areas into the illegal map of the illegal Biafra despite the FACT that the Ijaws, Ogonis, Efiks, Efuts, Quas, Ibibios, Annangs, Ejagbams, etc, rejected secession and being included in the same Biafra with the Igbos in 1967. The father of modern Ijaw nationalism from Bonny Island, Chief Harold Dappa-Biriye granted several interviews stating these historical FACTS about how he and other Rivers State leaders of thought came to see Gen Yakubu Gowon several times between 1966 and 1967 and made suggestions for the creation of the 12 new states by General Yakubu Gowon which was eventually done on May 27, 1967.
Some Igbos and their overbearing attitude simply NEVER learn from legitimate history. There is indeed a genetic-based psychiatric and mental disorder involved in this kind of reckless behavior of the irredentist strand among the Igbos in forcing other nearby ethnic groups into a territorial marriage they don't ever want!
sonnie10: What the SE saw over 50 years ago is what they are jubilating over in 2024. The actual fuel of the civil war between 1967 - 1970 was about who controls the exploration of crude oil in Nigeria. It was a war between Shell (British) supported Nigeria side and Total (France) supported Biafra side. Ojukwu knew that France was a more reliable partner but Gowon was deceived by shell -we know because we are living the consequences of the exploitation and environmental degradation of Gowon decision today.
Fast forward to 2024, its a total U-turn in allegiance. The once rejected stone is now the corner stone. Time heals every wound.
I have to step in here because there are historical inaccuracies in your post and as a veteran of the historical events leading right up to the Nigerian Civil War of July 1967 to January 1970 (exactly 2 years 6 months OR 30 months) with books I have bought and read since the early 1980s, it would be unkind to uninformed readers of this thread to ignore this. Your analogy here has NO historical basis whatsoever and you are trying to make the then younger Col Emeka Ojukwu, rtd, seem more intelligent than he really was with your "historical romanticism" here.
First off, as a perfect historical example, you have to be aware that Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited, a joint venture between the Federal Government of Nigeria and AP France, was incorporated on December 15, 1972 and on March 11, 1975, the Kakuri Industrial Estate, Kaduna-based car assembly plant was commissioned by General Yakubu Gowon right in Northern Nigeria.
What does this tell you? Emeka Ojukwu was simply NAIVE despite being a University graduate of History and was a pawn in the hands of the French dudes and other foreigners who he claimed had his support. Immediately the Nigerian Civil War ended, the French strategically positioned themselves in Nigeria to take advantage of strategic economic opportunities with several French conglomerates congregating in Nigeria such as CFAO, Peugeot, and more right from the 1970s!
Emeka Ojukwu took irresponsibly bad decisions that led to the prolongation of the sufferings of his Igbo people in the rebel enclave by allowing White European mercenaries to lead him on and by early 1969, they had started abandoning him and left for Europe or elsewhere because they saw defeat coming. The Nigerian Civil War would have ended as far back as late 1968 but the promise of support of weapons from French sources and White mercenaries, who are notorious "soldiers of fortune."
Even the so-called rebel currency notes were just TOILET paper because they were NOT legal tender and were REJECTED in the international community to purchase items and to buy weapons. This is why the young Col. Emeka Ojukwu (who was just in his early 30s when the war broke) continued to use the confiscated and stolen Nigerian Pounds currency notes got from returning Igbos who he told to surrender them in exchange for the "secessionist enclave's printed Pounds currency and the ones got from looted CBN vaults in the Old Eastern Region and the 1967 Mid West Region invasion to illegally purchase weapons until the British suggested in late 1967 leading into early 1968 that the Nigerian Pounds design should be changed. That change in the design of the Nigerian Pounds in early 1968 was what dealt a FATAL blow to Emeka Ojukwu's continued use of the legitimate Nigerian Pounds legal tender because it made the ones in his hands worthless to buy weapons and other items.
In the final analysis, I must make it CLEAR to you that it was the illegal inclusion and invasion of the lands of the other ethnic groups of the former Eastern Region such as the Ijaws, Ogonis, Efiks, Efuts, Quas, Ibibios, Annangs, Ekois, etc, into the illegally created Biafra on May 30, 1967, that led to the outbreak of the Nigerian Civil War in July 1967The father of modern Ijaw nationalism, Chief Harold Dappa-Biriye, Ken Saro-Wiwa and other non-Igbo ethnic groups in the defunct Old Eastern Region had met several times on Lagos Island which was the administrative capital of Nigeria with Gowon from 1966 to May 1967 to demand for the creation of states instead of regions so as to reduce the alleged Igbo domination of their areas and bring more developments. Chief Harold Dappa-Biriye was an indigene of Bonny Island in Rivers State and he granted several interviews stating these historical FACTS in books and newspaper interviews. On May 27, 1967, the young General Yakubu Gowon created 12 new states [of which the new Lagos State, Western State, Mid Western State, Rivers State, South Eastern State (now Cross River and Akwa Ibom), East Central State (now Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, Imo) and more] for the indigenes and traditional rulers of most of those states were largely consulted. Col. Emeka Ojukwu rejected this noble move and irresponsibly declared a secession 3 days later on May 30, 1967, and dragged non-Igbos into the illegal secession project without carrying out a referendum among the non-Igbo folks. This was the BEGINNING of the failure of the fraudulent Biafra secession which many non-Igbos had rejected because 3 new states had been created out of the Old Eastern Region of which 2 states had MAJORLY non-Igbos.
So, the major triggers of that Nigerian Civil War had less to do with any "British Shell or French Total crude oil rivalrues BUT more to do with the lack of RESPECT for the boundaries and territorial integrity of the minority ethnic groups of the Old Eastern Region (by Emeka Ojukwu and his young secessionists) whose lands were carved into the illegal map of Biafra which these people had unanimously rejected. Even some Igbos such as Hilary Njoku, the military man who was in charge before Alexander Madiebo took over from him was removed and locked up in jail for advising Emeka Ojukwu that the rebels did NOT have sufficient weapons to win the war, "Jesus of Ogbunike," Margaret Ekpo (whose father is an Anambra Igbo and mother from Calabar) ALL warned Ojukwu NOT to go to war, hence they were locked up in prison with others, and a large number of Philip Effiong's Ibibio people majorly rejected secession.Just as the Ibibio gentleman who was nominated as the secessionist "Head of civil Service" wrote in his book or memoirs of the horrendous events of the Nigerian Civil War, if there had been a referendum, the Ibibios and other ethnic groups would have REJECTED Biafra officially. Many of the non-Igbos who partook in that movement especially in civilian capacity did so because their lives were in danger having witnessed the summary executions of some of their ethnic kinsmen who openly protested before and after the war started that they rejected the inclusion of their ancestral homelands in Biafra.
Just 2 days ago, some of us saw videos of some mentally befuddled and unstable Ipob members led by a woman (belonging to Ekpa's group in Finland) who flew into Finland from the United States REPEATING the same grave errors that Col. Chukwuemeka Ojukwu made on May 30, 1967, that led to the death of an official estimate of NOT more than 1.5 million people on both Federal and rebel sides by including several non-Igbo areas into the delusional "40 states" of the phantom "USB" such as the Isokos of Delta State, the Igalas, Okrika, Opobo, Calabar, Idoma, etc, which signifies that a lot of Igbos just NEVER learn from legitimate history! I actually saw a post yesterday on Nairaland where a dude from Okrika in Rivers insulted these Ipob clowns for including his folks among the 40 states in the fraudulent enlarged "Biafra."
MadamExcellency: Igbos are not black in complexion. They're fair and even during the racist brown envelop Jim Crow segregation in US, some Igbos attended the same school as Whites because of their fair skin colour.
Please, DON'T mislead people here. I'm very vast (for decades now) in African-American history, world history and the history of the infamous trans-Atlantic slave trade. There is NO such recorded history of any fair-skinned "Igbos" or others of African descent attending schools with White folks during the hostile years of racial segregations in the United States. White folks in the Deep South of the U.S. NEVER attended schools together with African-Americans in the years of racial segregations and many of the young African-Americans who were brilliant enough to attend top Universities were denied admissions. One of them who tried to make it into Uni by going the legal route back then disappeared completely and he was NEVER seen again till today!
Some African-Americans have very light-skins today due to the FACT that they are of mixed African and White European ancestral origins (biracial) because several enslaved African women were sexually violated (raped) by White men on the plantations OR a few had genuine relations with White men after the slave trade ended in 1865 officially at the end of the American Civil War. The stupid law called the "ONE DROP" rule which existed back then states that you are "Black" in the United States even if you have White paternal ancestry. Statistics collated from Advanced history books I have read for over 40 years now show that females constituted 80% of the Igbos taken on slave ships out of Bonny Island in the late 1700s to early 1800s (where the Ijaws were the middle-men and the Aros and their Abam friends brought Igbo captives from the interior to be sold just like Jaja was brought as a captive from his Umu Duruoha clan in Amaigbo in present-day Imo State and enslaved by the Ijaws of Bonny after undergoing Ijawnization initiation rites and given an Ijaw name "Jaja Jubogha." Infact, from consistent ancestry DNA tests conducted within the last 20 years, 1 out of 4 African-American men has a direct White male ancestor (25% occurrence) showing that the rate of White men sleeping with and fathering children with African women on slave plantations was high!
Second, in my international travels, I have met several Igbos including my years of traveling in Nigeria as well. There are many Igbos who are dark-skinned and there are different shades of complexions among Igbos just like other Nigerian ethnic groups such as Ibibios, Esan-Edos, Yorubas, Hausas, Ebiras, Idomas, Igalas, etc. It's in Umuahia (Bright Chimezie, Nnamdi Kanu, etc) in Abia State and parts of Imo State that I noticed that the incidence of people with light skin is a bit high but even at that, a few indigenes of Umuahia and those parts of Imo have dark brown people.Even in Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, Imo, you have a LOT of dark brown complexioned people NOT light-skinned. Most Igbos are NOT very light or fair-skinned like some ignorant people who don't pay attention to little details OR travel like to conclude. Many Owerri indigenes I know are NOT majorly fair-skinned but dark brown. Anambra has a lot of dark brown complexioned people too. Former Abia Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, his wife and many Ngwa people I have seen are dark brown in complexion.
It's only Umuahia indigenes and parts of Imo State that I can say have significantly high light-skins which tends towards some kind of albinism... But it's not full-blown albinism, just PURE genetic selection at the fetal level in the womb. I have to also correct the illiterate statement that Africans are Black-skinned. This is a racist categorization which some Africans themselves are ignorantly using. Africans are BROWN-SKINNED or with different shades of Brown NOT Black skins.
Finally, I witnessed the younger Bianca Onoh's era (now Bianca Ojukwu) as a beauty pageant contestant and it was obvious she "lightened" her facial skin. Her face was significantly "lighter" than the rest of her body back then. Today, women can now use all kinds of toning creams which make them look evenly lighter so it's difficult to immediately tell if it's their natural complexion or NOT. Except you look at their old photographs, you will NOT know the difference.
Experiencenaija: This is only possible at the largest yam market in West Africa located in Nigeria called "Zaki Biam Yam Market". The Zaki Biam market is believed to be the largest yam market in Nigeria and perhaps Africa, it accounts for 70% of yam cultivated in Nigeria. Buyers from other African countries patronize the market due to the ridiculous prices at which you can purchase yams in bulk.
SpockFederation: The world of cryptocurrency trading is a high-stakes, emotionally charged environment that has become a breeding ground for a critical yet often overlooked phenomenon: trader burnout.
As the cryptocurrency market continues to evolve with its extreme volatility, unpredictable market movements, and 24/7 trading landscape, traders find themselves caught in a relentless cycle of psychological and emotional stress that can severely impact their mental health, decision-making abilities, and overall well-being.
Crypto trader burnout is a complex psychological condition characterized by: - Emotional exhaustion - Decreased performance - Cynicism towards trading - Chronic stress - Mental and physical fatigue
Recent studies indicate that approximately 73% of cryptocurrency traders experience significant levels of stress, with 45% reporting symptoms directly aligned with professional burnout syndrome. The unique characteristics of cryptocurrency markets exacerbate these challenges, creating a perfect storm of psychological strain.
Key Factors Contributing to Crypto Trader Burnout
1. Market Volatility and Emotional Rollercoaster
Cryptocurrency markets are notorious for their extreme price fluctuations. The average daily price volatility in major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin can range between 3-5%, compared to less than 1% in traditional stock markets. This constant uncertainty creates: - Persistent emotional stress - Decision fatigue - Constant state of alertness - Difficulty in maintaining rational decision-making processes
2. 24/7 Market Dynamics
Unlike traditional financial markets, cryptocurrency markets operate continuously. This round-the-clock trading environment leads to: - Disrupted sleep patterns - Inability to disconnect - Increased anxiety - Compromised personal and professional boundaries
A survey of 2,500 crypto traders revealed that 62% check their portfolio multiple times daily, with 28% admitting to checking prices every hour, indicating an unhealthy level of market obsession.
3. Information Overload and Decision Complexity
The cryptocurrency ecosystem is characterized by: - Rapid technological innovations - Complex market dynamics - Overwhelming information streams - Constant emergence of new tokens and trading strategies
Traders must continuously: - Monitor multiple information channels - Analyze complex market indicators - Make quick, high-stakes decisions - Manage significant financial risks
This constant cognitive demand leads to mental exhaustion and increased likelihood of burnout.
Psychological and Financial Consequences of Trader Burnout
Mental Health Implications
Research demonstrates that crypto trader burnout can result in: - Increased anxiety disorders (38% higher risk) - Higher rates of depression - Compromised cognitive function - Reduced decision-making capabilities - Potential development of addictive trading behaviors
### Financial Performance Impact
Burnout directly affects trading performance: - 55% reduction in rational decision-making - 40% increased likelihood of making impulsive trades - Estimated 25-35% potential decrease in overall trading profitability
### Physical Health Manifestations
Prolonged trading stress can lead to: - Sleep disorders - Chronic fatigue - Increased blood pressure - Compromised immune system - Potential cardiovascular risks
## Mitigation Strategies for Crypto Trader Burnout
### 1. Psychological Management Techniques - Establish strict trading schedules - Practice mindfulness and meditation - Implement regular mental health breaks - Develop robust emotional regulation strategies
### 3. Professional Support Systems - Seek counseling from mental health professionals - Join trader support groups - Engage in peer networking - Develop comprehensive mental wellness plans
## Industry Awareness and Emerging Solutions
The cryptocurrency trading community is increasingly recognizing the critical nature of trader mental health. Emerging platforms and communities are developing: - Mental health resources - Trading psychology workshops - Stress management programs - Peer support networks
## Conclusion
Crypto trader burnout represents a significant challenge in the rapidly evolving digital asset landscape. By understanding its complex psychological dimensions, implementing strategic management techniques, and prioritizing mental well-being, traders can navigate this high-pressure environment more effectively.
The future of successful cryptocurrency trading lies not just in technical analysis and market understanding, but in comprehensive personal and psychological management.
A Nigerian businesswoman, who runs a makeup business, has expelled five of her students for staying overnight at their boyfriends’ houses on the night before a crucial business appointment.
Openlife: OpenLife Nigeria has gathered that the world's largest gold deposit has been discovered in China's central Hunan province.
Geologists believe it could hold 1,000 tonnes of the precious metal.
At current prices this 'supergiant gold deposit' could be worth more than $80 billion (£63bn), making it the richest source of gold on the planet.
Scientists from the Geological Bureau of Hunan Province (GBHP) say they have discovered more than 40 veins beneath the Wangu gold field in Pingjiang County.
Drilling shows there are already more than 300 tonnes of gold just in the veins less than 2,000m (6,500ft) deep.
However, further 3D modelling suggests there are veins holding an additional 700 tonnes extending down to a depth of 3,000m (9,800ft). Rock samples taken at the site show that every tonne of ore could contain as much as 138 grams of pure gold.
This would be a truly astonishing level of richness considering that ore is considered high quality if it contains just eight grams per tonne.
Chen Rulin, an ore-prospecting expert at GBHP, told state media: 'Many drilled rock cores showed visible gold.'
The discovery surpasses even the 900 tonnes buried within the 3,000m-deep (6,500ft) South Deep mine in South Africa which was previously the world's largest reserve.
Chinese officials have not yet announced plans to develop the site but it is likely that the Wangu gold field will soon become one of the country's biggest mining projects.
Currently, the country's biggest gold mine is the Xiling gold mine in Shandong Province, a coastal region in the East of China.
But even that mine, with its massive deposit of 580 tonnes, would only be almost half the size of any mine built over the Wangu gold field. Gold prices lept at the news of the discovery, rising to near-historic highs in the days following.
Amid rising geopolitical tensions and mounting uncertainties, the price of gold has already been climbing over the course of 2024.
But as the news of the Wangu gold field broke the price of gold briefly jumped to £2,171 ($2,759) last weekend.
China is already one of the world's largest producers of gold, accounting for 10 per cent of the global output.
Earlier this year, estimates already put the country's total gold reserves at over 2,000 tonnes.
However, China is also a huge market for gold and currently consumes more of the precious metal than it can produce.
Years of rapid economic development and a fast-growing middle class have fueled demand for gold as a form of investment for many Chinese citizens.
Glimpsetv: A few days ago, Peller, the young and popular TikToker, had a live session with Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage. During the session, he shyly requested a ride on her private jet. Surprisingly, Tiwa responded that it was the easiest thing to do. Although Peller initially acted very shy, as if he were about to ask for something difficult or hard to grant, his friend Joblaq and his girlfriend, Jarvis ( Jetlorita), cheered him on to gather the courage to speak up.
Peller has now posted an exciting video of himself on a private jet date with Tiwa Savage. Tiwa Savage's son is also seen with them on the private jet. Watch his funny expressions and see how thrilled he is!
Revolva: Bros cool down , i am igala , pls obiano is not igala ok , the fact his community is next door to igala land does not make anyone igala , learn history well , as for the naval.chief of staff , yes he is igala but today he is part of igbo nation by position, as for the oil well the two community owns it , only that anambra developed it
Revolva, I'm curious about your submissions here.
If you affirm here that the Nigerian Naval Boss, Ogala is an Igala man, why do you then say that he is part of the Igbo by position? Are you saying that Igala's CANNOT be individually nominated to represent Enugu State without identifying as Igbo? Are you NOT aware that there are indigenous Igalas especially in the Northern parts of Enugu State and Igala presence in what is now Enugu State is slightly over 500 years. Even the red chieftaincy cap was originally introduced by the Igalas into the Nsukka area of Enugu before the use of those red caps was borrowed and spread to other parts in Igboland where Igalas didn't even have any contact with.Same thing too with Anambra State where indigenous Igalas exist and even several towns have part "Igala" descent and quarters such as in Onitsha, Aguleri, Ogbaru, even right across the River Niger into Ebu, Asaba, Okpanam, Ilah, etc, in Delta States? The Igalas are the custodians of the Egungun (Spelled as "Egwugwu" in Igala with Igala being classified by linguists as a Yoruboid language) in those communities I mentioned. I've watched many YT videos (like the ones below and saved them within the last four years on my mobile devices), documentary interviews, and read a lot of books and articles detailing these historical specifics since the early 1990s.
