Nigeria we hail thee, Our own dear native land, Though tribe and tongue may differ, In brotherhood we stand, Nigerians all, and proud to serve Our sovereign Motherland. Our flag shall be a symbol That truth and justice reign, In peace or battle honour'd, And this we count as gain, To hand on to our children A banner without stain. O God of all creation, Grant this our one request, Help us to build a nation Where no man is oppressed, And so with peace and plenty Nigeria may be blessed.

The end time battle against the believers would not be about might or power because all powers belong to Jesus and believer have access to the power, the battle would be about wiles (crafty intelligence) and the battle field would be our mind. Some believers are so spiritually timid that they are afraid to question the essence and basis of their beliefs, the pastor said this, i was born into this, this has been my life. 2nd Tim. 2:15 says - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Why should believers subject themselves to physical ordinances that Christ has delivered them from and also taught them to be free from? For those of you that comfortably sit in positions where nobody questions what you believe in then you are not a good student of the word. Jesus ministry was a radical change from the norms, He spent most of His times discussing, arguing and teaching the so called children of Abraham. Do not be afraid to research and challenge the status quo. Contrary to what people said, Christ did not abolish the Law of Abraham, He fulfilled ALL requirements of that Law. The requirement of the Laws and ordinances of Abraham has ceased to exist !!! Jesus made it clear while referring to the Law of the Sabbath !!! He took the burden of the obligation of the Law and gave us His own requirements to attain righteousness. That why He said; Matt 11;28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” 2 Corinthians 9:1-15 New International Version (NIV) 9 There is no need for me to write to you about this service to the Lord’s people. 2 For I know your eagerness to help, and I have been boasting about it to the Macedonians, telling them that since last year you in Achaia were ready to give; and your enthusiasm has stirred most of them to action. 3 But I am sending the brothers in order that our boasting about you in this matter should not prove hollow, but that you may be ready, as I said you would be. 4 For if any Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we—not to say anything about you—would be ashamed of having been so confident. 5 So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to visit you in advance and finish the arrangements for the generous gift you had promised. Then it will be ready as a generous gift, not as one grudgingly given. 6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.”[a] 10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. 14 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. 15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! Stop quoting the Laws of Moses and Abraham to satisfy your own ignorance like the Pharisees were doing !!! If you want to obey the Laws then do it completely, you cannot do one and leave the others!!! it is the hypocrisy Jesus was referring to in Matt 23:23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.” If you must obey the ordinances of tithing then you must obey all ordinances of the Law thereby nullifying the essence of Grace in your life. |
bennysucre: am no longer under her roof anymore. i know im an adult now buh it hurts each time i think about it. at the wedding ceremony of my elder, this same uncle acted as the father as our dad is no more. felt soooo outraged."acted as the father"....hmmmmmmmm i wonder, i just wonder (Olu Jacobs)...This might sound somehow, how are you sure he isn't the father even for you? |
https://assets.fiercemarkets.net/public/mdano/amis/q113-hmarketshare.jpg There is currently a war of supremacy going on in the mobile technology global market, this war had been brewing for some times and leading the market are the companies that had been able to predict the recent changes enveloping the industry and discovered consumers would be the umpire. My own opinion judging by the past and current trends, talking about the mobile phone companies in the aspect of OS, the battle is between Apple iOS and Google Android, now we have Microsoft tailing behind with Windows. In the emerging mobile phone market domination, Samsung has proven to be a formidable opponent, Apple is battling but the closed system they operate with their Hard-Software may come back to haunt them. RIM scenario is a lesson to all that there is nothing like champion forever but only current champion exists, you cannot afford to sit on a technology for too long in a fast evolving technological market. My prediction for the future in the mobile-tech sales; I see Apple losing a large chunk of their mobile market to Samsung or those mobile tech companies we can refer to as the "minor prophets" if they continue the recycling of technologies we are witnessing in current iPhone output now. Samsung phones are winning in innovations and development, they have managed to maintain the tech hype with their Phone lines. I also predict Microsoft's Nokia going the way of RIM if they do not lose the conservative cloak covering their research and development or they might end up settling for the minor shares of the mobile market. In the social media scene I foresee Facebook's relegation while other minor social media platforms take over, RIM relied on its proprietary BBM while the underdogs IM apps were evolving e.g. WhatsApp, Facebook has grown so big and it's being haunted by what the economist calls "Large diseconomies of scale. |
VisaOfficer: I suppose my official answer is Tell him to pay his taxes. My other answer is, If his 2009, 2010, and 2011 tax documents show that he has sufficient income to support the son, I wouldn't bother asking for 2012 tax documents; I'd just process the case.Thank you so much. This clarifies the issue. |
Hello Visa Officer, I have a friend being sponsored(immigration) by his dad, he has been contacted to present all documents which he has done, the problem is the father is expected to file an affidavit of support which requires he also presents the current year tax papers. The father is reluctant to file his tax for 2012 and we suspect he is owing some taxes. Kindly clarify, if the sponsor is owing taxes, does it hindered his ability to be a sponsor? or does it hindered my friend's immigrant application? Thank you |
I read an article from one of these blog sites where a popular man of God in Lagos was seen escorted with jeep load of Army guards. Can they preach about divine protection or would they rather advice us all to seek our own protection considering the state of security in the country. Gun control has been a major debate in the US, the christian communities have divided opinions. Is it proper for pastors to carry arms? And whats your opinion about this number of army guards for the MOG. There was a time Nigerian pastor was shot by the police because he shot back at them, are we more protected with a gun? Never try to confine your God's given vision within the limitations of your "Tent" mentality....for Abraham to see himself as Father of Nations God had to convince him to step outside his Tent and see his potentials amongst the Stars......Spread your wings beyond your territory, dine with champions and call yourself by a name associated with your vision just like Abraham. God's vision often starts small so never despise little beginning, look into your pro-vision to see your vision then you shall share your success story. http://jedidiah247..com/2013/08/tent-mentality.html |
Fantastic topic, this similar question has been bugging me since I moved to the US. how come we don't have our own Silicon valley? I am a fan of Forbes too and I see how these IT guys are topping Wall street finances. Two issues are prominent from what the OP said - 1, Absence of quality innovations 2, Absence of Venture Capitalists I used to worked in the communication company in Nigeria, I had a colleague that finished from UNILAG, He was so very brilliant and his HOD (a renowned professor) promised to help him out in pursuing a graduate course in UK, he busted NYSC for 2 years relying on a promise by the HOD. The guy gave up on that dream when it wasn't materializing and went for the delayed NYSC, he later left for India to further study with his own meager funds. The guy came back to Nigeria at the advent of the GSM companies, he wrote 3 proposals to to 3 Telcos and they all offered him employment. The guy predicted the death of Voice services to Data service as the cash cow. He predict the reign of VOIP and packet switch versatility. Now all his predictions have come true but where is he? He started working in the Telco (Y'hello) and he got so comfortable with the salary and forgot all the research in him. I still remind him the dream he had then but now he has other concerns - wife, a child, extended family demands and the Nigerian rat race to cope with. I have compared the US system to Nigeria's system, our problem is multifaceted, starting from the Nigeria's educational idiosyncrasy to the underdeveloped economic infrastructures. Nigeria's IT development is far behind that of India and light years behind the western countries. Except there is a paradigm shift then these problems would persist for a long time. |
Sammysammy1: I have been dating this lady for close to 5yrs now , each time i ask her for her picture she tell me that she dont give guys her picture. I was thinking of marring her but with this development am confuz please advice me 07061246614You're dating a girl for 5 years and you don't have her picture even in this camera phone era? Then you're wrongly using the word "dating"!!! |
I just watched the video of the two guys lynched and killed by mob in Badagry, my first comment is a quote from a proverb; “The little child who had witnessed his mother beaten by a madman would run for his life if he sees an ordinary auto mechanic who resembles a mad man". I remember then while living in the highbrow Okupe Estate in Maryland, the estate witnessed series of armed robbery cases where resident's daughters were raped and men grievously injured. During that period they caught a young man in odd hours around the estate, it was the highly educated, well-traveled, civilized landlords that suggested the suspect be burnt!!! I would have confused their intentions for crude joke if i didn't see them donating petrol and tires to carry out the act. I have witnessed several armed robbery cases and I have been a victim of few myself. In 2008 around Ikeja under the bridge while coming from work at 7pm, two YOUNG handsome tall guys (well dressed) with baseball caps pointed a gun at me. I had my company's very expensive laptop, some important documents and 3 phones (2 was mine, 1 was official) with me in my backpack. I remembered how I cried that they should spare the office laptop and take all other stuff (the laptop had the company's financial accounts), they beat me mercilessly with the butts of their gun and took all i had sweated for years while they were laughing at my helplessness!!! The sad thing was people were all around witnessing the incident but they passed by quickly, a policeman was even passing by in a danfo bus and i ran to him, he just laughed and said there was nothing he could do. I ran to Ikeja police station (near police college) to report, the officer in charge was sleeping and all she said when she woke up was that "eh ya pele God would catch them". In fact some policemen met me there and even demanded bribe from me before they would register my case. So tell me the kind of mindset I would have against armed robbery suspect. Another experience was in my house, we just moved into the area and it was a big house. They were like 10 in number and they robbed the whole house, i remembered how my mother sorrowfully pleaded with them to spare her children’s life and kill her instead. We were all pleading with criminals to spare our lives in exchange for our hard earned properties. I served in Plateau and i can count the number of times we have been robbed in Luxurious buses and women brutally raped, we have been in situation where police took the opposite direction when we reported highway robberies to them. There are thousands of cases that I can cite as example. Armed robbers, ritual killers, kidnappers, Cult assassins are people like us that we see and mingle with every day; they have parents, siblings, neighbors, in-law, girlfriends and wives just like we do. Some go to church or mosque and have close friends that are aware of what they do. It is not written on the face, in fact these days responsible looking young men are the ones that the criminals amongst us. If you go to Kirikiri today 99% of them would tell you they were accused wrongly, my question is why would people indulge in any action that would put them in culpable situation? We all blame the police as if they are not humans like us, also what kind of people do you expect to produce from the police college that looks like a dungeon for criminals? Are we not witnesses to the Channels TV story? Jungle justice have been in existence for a while and the proliferation of social media network just made it more prominent! It is an offshoot of a broken down society where people take their fate into their hands. We are all guilty of same crime we are accusing this mob of doing, your actions are part of what made Nigeria to be what it is today. Nigeria my fatherland of hypocrisy where we have all become judges and critics! We are the relationship advisers, the football analysts, the political activists, the tribal bigots and the religious fanatics. What makes this killing different from that happening every day in the north? An everyday genocide whose perpetrators would one day get amnesty just like their counterpart in the Southern region. Some would say they are supporting Tinubu and some would say they are supporting GEJ, I ask you; what's the difference between the blatant brigand and incompetent nincompoop? Nigeria of hypocrisy where a yahoo boy would accuse someone of being a thief on Nairaland or where a girl who has 3 boyfriends and dating a married man would advise another woman on Nairaland to say men are useless. A Nigeria of hypocrisy where you would drive your car without necessary legal documents, police stops you and you would be the one to offer him bribe, next you would come here and say Nigerian police are corrupt!!! Our problem in this country is not leadership issue because every chancellor, house of rep members, senators, ministers, governors, presidents are picked from amongst us, they were picked by us and they are random sample of what an average Nigerian is!!! A clear representation of the population, so regardless who goes into that political office today Nigeria’s situation would not change. I am sorry for the next coming generation because praying for a miracle for this country is like praying for God to send electricity into your street’s transformer without it coming from the power station. Oh we all say GEJ is incompetent but really anyone that would rule effectively a population of 150 million people consisting of 95% social misfits would have to be a genius!!! |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocTMhw8XMF8 It's similar to the aboki Mopol that wanted to disarm a Boko haram Bomb with his hand and a stick, the next thing we saw was the remainder of what was supposed to be his leg !!! ![]() |
...... jeeeeeeeeez !!! |
I laugh in Swahili.....When objectivity is replaced by sentimental values then mediocrity would be celebrated. Building any flying object requires adequate knowledge about aerodynamics and not just iron welding skills, featuring these metallic contraptions as achievement in this advanced age of global technological development is a mockery of our intellectual capacity and educational system. However i would still say that the concerned "inventors' exhibiting these creative tendencies should be encourage to go to formal school where their abilities can be nurtured to be at par with current global technological advancement. |
This is not a rescue mission at all because they don't look like people that needed or wanted to be rescued, it is more of pouring sand inside their garri !!! those "girl" are old enough to know what is good for them !!! Nigerian journalist and sensational news headlines sha !!!! |
sorry o,but can you ask your brother the real reason he was arrested? Although Nigerian police are wicked but not outrightly daft! |
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday 17th June, 2013 arraigned the duo of Egbearo Friday and Samson Akpaibor before Justice A. M. Liman of the Federal High Court, Benin City, Edo State, on a 17-count charge of conspiracy, forgery, impersonation and obtaining money by false pretences. The accused allegedly obtained the sum of N80, 000 from one Christopher Onwubuemeli under the pretext that he had won N2million in a fake Globacom promo. Count one and two of the charge read; “That you Egbearo Friday and Akpaibor Samson on or about the 18th of July, 2011 at Benin, Edo State within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, conspired among yourselves to commit felony to wit; obtaining money under false pretence and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 8(a) of the Advance Fee Fraud Related Offences Act No.14 of 2006 and punishable under section 1(3) of the same Act. “That you Egbearo Friday Akpaibor Samson on or about the 18th of July,2011 at Benin, Edo State, within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of N80,000,00 (eighty thousand naira only) from one Dr Christopher Onwubuemeli, with Guaranty Trust Bank Account No:0032111326 and Teller No:014488281 under the pretence that he won N2,000,000.00 (Two million naira only) in a purported Globacom Recharge and Win Promo, which pretence you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1(1) (a) & (b) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act No.14 of 2006 and punishable under section 1(3) of the same Act”. The accused persons pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to them. The prosecution counsel, Moses Arumeni then asked the court to fix a date for trial. However, C. C. Nweke and I. O. Okenwa, counsel to both the first and second accused persons prayed the court to grant their clients bail. The court granted the accused persons bail in the sum of two million naira each and a surety with landed properties within the jurisdiction of the court. The case was adjourned to September 25, 2013 for hearing. Wilson Uwujaren Ag. Lets stop speaking like local champions, something synonymous with most of us is that we love criticizing from our backyards, we are born, bred, schooled, working and will die within a small geographical location but yet we argue about what happens at the other side of the world. Believe me; you can't imagine the snags in some of these "perfect" countries worse than what you have in your land. I do not see why anybody should criticize an attempt to attract foreign investments to the country, they do that everywhere in the world and it is not a big deal. If you are not happy with a particular state in Nigeria, you have 37 options to chose from so exercise your right! |
99cent: Nice video. You took the words out of my mouth, i have seen a part of US i never imagined existed, terrible area with crimes that would make the whole of Mushin look like kindergarten classroom. You would never see CNN feature this side of US, their focus is always the good side of US and always the terrible sides of other countries. Well done Fashola for this promotional video, let our music, movies and medias paint a better picture, we are not the only ones with problems, enough of negative publicity !!! Long live motherland !! |
Our God is a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrryy patient God. Women submission has been defined as a curse ? With the rate at which Bible is being re-written; a time would come when Abraham, Moses, Jacob, Joseph and others would be discovered to be women and God would be referred to as "SHE" because saying God is HE would be gender discrimination !!! |
hmmmmmmmm, you never complained while dating him but when you now got married you now see it as wrong, you wanna claim right? what changed? so you were pretending before? and the marriage certificate has now conferred on you special powers? Just go ahead and start a war you can't finish. Attitude like this is what makes people get the perception that women change after marriage. Lesson for all, What you won't take in marriage don't condone it in the relationship or else you are just a bloody hypocrite. |
Thank you very much sir !!! |
Hello Chief, how much would it cost to bring in Avalon 2008 from US. And if possible can you break down the cost into vehicle cost and logistics. Thank you in advance. |
So nobody had been arrested since then ![]() ? |
THE SUSPECT IN THE BOSTON MARATHON BOMBINGS IS IN CUSTODY, ACCORDING TO BOSTON POLICE. This is an example of a functioning society where security of the citizens is a serious business. |
Very typical of sharp chics these days, this is so funny cos it happened to a friend too and he is married to the girl now. A situation where bush meat caught the hunter !!! If you are silly enough at 33 to allow a girl to con you then she deserves her price which is marrying her !!! A good advice for the sharp chics out there, pray you don't fall into the hands of "craze guy" or else you would end up a single mother even if you report him to Father Moses in heaven !!!! |
Hmmmmmmm, If he leaves his job and come to US as an illegal immigrant then his trouble has just started ! experience is the best teacher !!!!! if he comes in as a Legal Immigrant then your life may be better but nothing less. |
Really, cos it was asked in UK TV doesn't make it an "ok" question. Ask yourself, if the teenager is your daughter what would be your response? So that's your answer! |
Bros, if the car was given to you by your In-laws, don't sell or else you would never see the end of the matter. On the other hand, if the car was given to you by your own people then sell it and invest the money in a business. A car becomes a liability if its not contributing in earning income, even a stationary car generates expenses. When you sell the car never use the money to "eat" or else you go back to square one. Also re-focus your energy into being self employed and job hunt should become secondary. Remember, making it in this harsh economy is God factor and good decision making. Peace be unto you. |
Giving someone a second chance at times may be similar to handing over one extra bullet to an enemy who fired the last shot at you and missed. Let him/her who have ears hear.... |
It is sad that a young man lost his life in the bid to survive in a strange land, many Nigerians are dying daily in similar events but no documentation to pinpoint this ! imagine the death statistic in this sport within a short time - Michigan's unregulated amateur MMA scene has long been a tragedy waiting to happen and it's good to see that Michigan lawmakers are finally stepping up to the plate to prevent further needless deaths. Hopefully the bill will pass the upper chamber of the legislature and get the Governor's signature without further delay. For context, MMA.tv has compiled a list of deaths in MMA competition since 1993: Douglas Dedge • March 16, 1998 • Kiev, Ukraine • Unregulated • Chief emergency room doctor attributed death to "severe brain injuries." • First MMA death in the modern era. • Dedge is reported to have passed out in training previous to the fight, and is believed to have had a preexisting medical condition. Korean identified only as Lee • May 12, 2005 • Samsong-dong, South Korea • Entirely unregulated bout took place in a bar. • Cause of death was heart attack. Sam Vasquez • October 20, 2007 • Houston Texas • Cause of death was subdural hemorrhage due to blunt trauma of the head, following a KO loss in the third round • First death in a sanctioned MMA event. Michael Kirkham • June 26, 2010 • Aiken, South Carolina • Regulated bout • Cause of death was subarachnoid hemorrhage of the brain • Kirkham lost his previous fight on April 24 by TKO; Dr. Joe Estwanik believes "this could have been second-impact syndrome." Mike Mittelmeier • April 27, 2012 • Bolivia • Unregulated bout allowing face kicks to grounded opponent; there was no ambulnace standing by. • Mittlemeier got kicked in the head while attempting a leg lock. • Cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage. Dustin Jenson • May 24, 2012 • Rapid City, South Dakota • Unregulated bout • Jenson tapped without appearing to take any severe blows. • Cause of death was subdural hemorrhage resulting from blunt force trauma to the head. Tyrone Mims • August 11, 2012 • Mount Pleasant, South Carolina • Regulated bout • Autopsy results were inconclusive, with no evidence of a concussion or brain trauma detected, no drugs or alcohol detected by toxicology tests. "(Mims) might have had an irregular heart because of some electrical dysfunction," said Coroner Rae Wooten. "That obviously isn't seen after death. Once that's completed, there's no evidence of that.... There's just nothing here that explains his death." Felix Pablo Elochukwu • April 7th, 2013 • Port Huron, Michigan • Unregulated bout • Autopsy pending. |
Lies continues... 11, I am a born again, i don't have s.ex (....are those condoms in your bag birthday balloons?). 12, Oh i attend Daystar, i go for the 11am service (christ!!! no 11am service). 13, My love language is receiving gift from people (...and mine is running from you) 14, I have never slept outside my house before so you have to drop me back in Ikorodu by 9pm (you don enter one chance journey to ikorodu) 15, I don't do clubs (and you were able to mention 10 clubs in VI?) 16, I don't take alcohols but i can manage 3 glasses of baileys |
