Not in Nigeria but I love to follow the news
Okay then.

The military just commenced a major military operation against the terrorists. If they can sustain the momentum before the rainy season begins, the dynamics of this war will change significantly.

Why are most of them looking charred and burnt like lynched criminals?. Are thier bodies not supposed to look intact (save for bullet holes)?. Did the army burn thier corpses? Or were they burnt alive?. This looks more like the work of an airstrike than the work of ground troops.

Plenty questions on my mind.

I don’t think I’ve heard the term ISWAP before. Maybe I did and forgot . Which one come be that again?
For real?!
Have you been in Nigeria all along?

Anyway, Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) is a splincter of Boko Haram previously led by Muhammad Yusuf's son. They are more deadlier than Boko Haram as BHTs have been severely weaken.

Nigerian army ground offensive seen in this report.

You can also spot some locally produced vehicles.

On behalf of all Nigerians we apologise for the low picture quality of NTA, they asked for 500 million dollars to upgrade, Nigerians said NO!!

Cool report still.

The most recent attack in Buni Gari was a joint attack by Boko Haram and ISWAP.

Stop killing fellow Nigerians.

The more you kill Boko Haram fighters, the more new ones enlist in Boko Haram fight.

Boko Haram says it's fighting for a country to be governed with Islamic Sharia criminal laws, the same laws adopted by twelve northern Nigeria Sharia states between 1999-2001.

Organize a referendum on regional govt system. Zones that vote for return to regional govt system return to regional govt system, with control of mineral resources in their surroundings but pay tax to a small central government..

That must end Boko Haram. Boko Haram only wants to win central government of Nigeria to control all of Nigeria and its mineral resources.
Wish it were that simple.

Commanding officer should never wear a uniform that makes them standout in the battlefield. It makes them an easy target for snipers.
And they should be armed always, can't believe I have to say that.

Bros, if you know a thing or two about warfare, you'd see they lacked coordination, the troops are poorly kitted they look like a terrorist group themselves, no direction, . They look so scared . They were only shooting so it doesn't look like mutiny. I can boldly tell you Boko Haram fighters are more coordinated than the Nigerian army. It's part of the reason defeating BH has been so difficult. As I was watching that video, I was almost weeping , my little daughter asked me "daddy what's wrong" .. I couldn't even answer because I was ashamed.

Following aggressive follow up/exploitation operation carried out by troops of Sector 2, Operation LAFIYA DOLE (OPLD), it is now comfirmed that a total of One Hundred and Five (105) Boko Haram/ISWAP Terrorists were neutralized during the Buni Gari encounter.

This was disclosed by the Commander Sector 2 OPLD Brig Gen Lawrence Araba while briefing the Chief of Army Staff and his entourage on Sunday.

Consequently, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai, applauded the troops for their gallantry and resilience that led to the killing of the 105 terrorists at Buni Gari in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe state on Saturday the 18th of April 2020. He gave the commendation when he visited the injured troops at the Field Ambulance Logistics Base 3 Damaturu and Special Forces’ School in Buni Yadi on Sunday.

The visit was sequel to the successes recorded by the troops in neutralising 105 Boko Haram and ISWAP Criminals that attempted to infiltrate/attack Buni Gari Village in Yobe State on the 18th of April 2020. Gen Buratai visited two officers that were wounded in action during the Buni Gari encounter and other soldiers already on admission at the medical facility in Damaturu before proceeding to the Special Forces’ School in Buni Yadi where he and his entourage were briefed on the incident by the Commander, Sector 2 OPLD, Brig Gen Lawrence Araba.

Interesting video, I love the commanders braveness and attitude. Our troops still needs proper coordination on the battle field, I wouldn’t blame them. All I see is a vickers MBT, MOWAG APC without a AAG and Toyota technicals.
After all joining the military doesn’t mean committing suicide lipsrsealed
Proper coordination is key in avoiding friendly fire. Most battlefield videos from Nigerian troops always appear chaotic. Too many people doing too many things.

Why this wastage of money? JF-17 is metallic architecture and it has only single axis Fly by wire(It would be good by late 90s era) that is why China(Manufacturer) is not even using this and selling this trash to few desperate countries.. Future is in composite Fibers. Look at their neighbor India they took time and developed their LCA Tejas from scratch, it took them time but they were determined to develop Composite materials for different section and all Axis Fly By Wire. I would say instead of buying and relying this copy trash from China it would be far far better to have few used MIG 29 etc from Russia.

Irrelevant people with ideological connection or subservient mentality like liberals , political appointees always end up in top positions.

And ironically Obama wanted to eradicate terrorism around the world . Mumus
It was a foolish and counterproductive decision. It is war, sh*t happens. It wasn't as if NAF deliberately targeted the IDP camp, it was a mistake which everyone regretted and learned huge lesson from.

If Obama was really serious about contributing to the end of terrorism in Nigeria, he would have okayed the sale of those planes with advance targeting equipments.

Liberals can be unreasonable sometimes.

Nigeria Super Tucano makes her maiden flight. Elegant!
Jacksonville, EUA, April 17, 2020 – Embraer Defense & Security and Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) announced the first of 12 A-29 Super Tucano light attack, combat and reconnaissance aircraft for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) successfully completed its inaugural flight at the production facility in Jacksonville, Florida.

The full fleet of A-29 Super Tucano aircraft for the NAF are currently in production by SNC and Embraer at the Jacksonville facility with delivery to the NAF expected on schedule in 2021.

The NAF A-29 aircraft will now begin mission modification and final testing in Centennial, Colorado. Following final testing, before delivery, NAF pilots will train in the aircraft.

“This is an exciting milestone in the production of these A-29s for the Nigerian Air Force. The Jacksonville production line is active, and Embraer and SNC look forward to seeing these aircraft continue to roll off the line in the coming months,” says Jackson Schneider, president & CEO, Embraer Defense & Security.

“The aircraft met or exceeded all the requirements and we are very pleased with the successful flight,” stated Ed Topps, vice president of Tactical Aircraft Systems and programs for SNC’s IAS business area. “SNC and our partner, Embraer, are certain the Nigerian Air Force will be pleased with these aircraft.”

The combat-proven A-29 Super Tucano is the gold standard of light attack combat and reconnaissance aircraft around the world and is designed and built for the mission in Nigeria.

The A-29 Super Tucano is the most reliable and cost-effective solution for basic and advanced flight and combat training, close air support operations, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), armed over-watch, counterinsurgency and irregular warfare scenarios.

The aircraft has already been selected by 15 air forces around the world to deliver cost-effective close air support and reconnaissance capabilities.

In December 2018, SNC and Embraer Defense & Security were awarded the contract to deliver 12 A-29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft to the Nigerian Air Force. The contract for the NAF includes ground training devices, mission planning systems, mission debrief systems, spares, ground support equipment, alternate mission equipment, contiguous U.S. interim contractor support, outside of continental U.S. (OCONUS) contractor logistic support and field service representatives for OCONUS support.
