Education / UK Introduces Student Visa Interview For Tier4 Student Visa by xcubed(m): 11:32am On Jun 24, 2013
This has been in place for about a month now but some might not know about it. If you are traveling to UK for studies this September or or next year and beyond, there is a new addition know as the Credibility Interview. Mr and Mrs Mods please this is useful information, front page wont be a bad idea.

From 9 May 2013, if you apply for a Tier 4 student visa you must now make an appointment online to attend the visa application centre.

You will need to sit a short interview when you attend the visa application centre to submit your application and biometric information.

The interview will focus on your reasons for coming to the UK; this is known as a credibility interview.

A report of the interview will be sent to the visa officer who will consider it alongside your visa application and supporting documents. You may be called for a further interview if the visa officer needs more information.

blink182: Even the 10 year ban didn't work?

Apparently it has no effect.

About 2.2million people are granted visas to enter Britain every year. Last year 296,000 people from India were granted six-month visas, as were 101,000 from Nigeria, 53,000 from Pakistan and 14,000 apiece from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Visitors from India and other 'high risk' countries in Asia and Africa will be forced to pay £3,000 cash bond before they enter UK

Plans by Home Secretary mean visitors lose their cash if they overstay visa
India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ghana, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to be targeted
Pilot scheme will later be extended to cover work permits and student visas

Visitors from 'high risk' countries in Africa and Asia will have to put up a £3,000 cash bond to enter Britain.

The money will be kept by the Government if visitors do not return home by the time their visas expire.

A pilot scheme, introduced by Home Secretary Theresa May, will target hundreds of people coming to Britain on six-month visit visas from India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ghana, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

The countries have been picked for their high number of visa applications and what the Government sees as relatively high levels of immigration abuse and fraud, reports the Sunday Times.

The bonds, to be introduced from November, will only apply to non-EU migrants, otherwise they would fall foul of European rights to free movement.

'This is the next step in making sure our immigration system is more selective, bringing down net migration from the hundreds of thousands to the tens of thousands while still welcoming the brightest and the best to Britain,' Mrs May told the Sunday Times.

'In the long run we’re interested in a system of bonds that deters overstaying and recovers costs if a foreign national has used our public services.'

A second scheme will cover countries such as Kenya, the newspaper reports, which are considered to be lower-risk because immigration officials have fewer doubts about migrants' plans to return home.

About 2.2million people are granted visas to enter Britain every year. Last year 296,000 people from India were granted six-month visas, as were 101,000 from Nigeria, 53,000 from Pakistan and 14,000 apiece from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Mrs May's plans, revealed by the Daily Mail in March, will be expanded to cover thousands of visa applicants and extended to work and student permits as well as tourists.

The Home Secretary plans to reduce annual net migration to under 100,000 by 2015.

Official figures earlier this year showed that the Government’s squeeze on entrants from outside the EU had pushed immigration into Britain to its lowest level in nearly a decade.

The number coming to live in Britain fell by 74,000 in the 12 months to June last year as curbs on students and workers from outside Europe began to bite.

‘We have reviewed all migration routes to the UK and have put in place measures to reduce immigration,’ said a source close to the Home Secretary when the plans were unveiled.

‘The latest statistics are encouraging and show that net migration continues to fall. But our work is not complete.’

The bonds could face criticism for not targeting the 'white Commonwealth', the Sunday Times suggested, while Canada rejected a similar scheme on grounds of discrimination against immigrants.

Keith Vaz, the Labour chairman of the Commons Home Affairs Committee, has previously warned that such bonds will ‘antagonise settled communities in Britain and enrage our allies such as India’.

Pastor Kun: Btw Oyedepo chasing the kidnapper with a sword in his dreams sounds occultic to me and not the way the holy spirit would operate.

Please tell us how the Holy Spirit would 'operate' since you seem to know all about that. I doubt you have come across how it was said that 'your enemies shall know no peace' in the bible, if he sees the Bishop chasing him with a sword in his dream that is his way of knowing no peace and that is the way the holy ghost showed him.

And occultic you say? 'For we wrestle not AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD but what? PRINCIPALITIES...' Complete the rest brother. You should have stopped in your first paragraph.

Phones / [Update] BBM For iOS Will Not Be Available For Ipad, Ipad Mini by xcubed(m): 5:57pm On May 17, 2013
BlackBerry has revealed that BBM for iOS will not be available on the iPad at launch, reports TrustReviews. The company previously announced that BBM would be coming this summer.

"Leaving iPad mini and iPad 4 users out in the cold, the iOS BBM app will launch for iPhone owners only, with the smartphone centric application also set to miss out on Android tablets such as the Google Nexus 7, with the company targeting smartphone users first."

“At this point it is iOS and Android, and that’s iOS phones running iOS 6 and higher,” Vivek Bhardwaj, Head of the BlackBerry Software Portfolio said.

“Smartphone is our real focus and again it comes back to what BBM is. If you look BBM and the engagement and the activity, it’s because it is mobile, because people are on the go,” added Bhardwaj. “When you start looking at tablets, computers and other screens, the usage model changes and behaviour changes. For us right now the absolute focus is getting BBM onto smartphones.”

Well Whatsapp isn't on the iPad though through cydia and some tweaks it can be installed, so this is fair enough i think and fingers crossed on Apple approving it too grin!

Phones / BBM On Iphone And Andriod, Full Breakdown And What You Need To Know by xcubed(m): 11:34pm On May 14, 2013
This was also posted on my blog http://kmlounge..com earlier today and hopes it makes front page.

Finally after waiting about three years, i posted news about this in 2010. BBM is finally or supposedly becoming cross platform and will be launching on iOS 6 and Andriod 4 devices, it's safe to say basically iPhones and Samsungs for now.

So here is the juice. BBM will be subject to approval, now Apple has iMessage but this lacks a lot of features like blocking contacts, having a Display Photo and likes and which they are not trying to improve or enhance on but since it doesn't require an external app to be used it fits in quite perfectly and works for me and virtually everyone, but i don't think this will pass the App Store approval, remember how long it took Google Maps app to be approved? if not for pressure. But fingers crossed anyways.

Whatsapp on the other hand is also available to almost all mobile devices BUT costs a little amount of money, even though the amount is insignificant not all will pay for it especially when it expires (BB Users) anyways and this is where BBM wins.

What to expect

In the first version of multi-platform BBM, iOS and Android users are expected to be able to experience the following BBM features:

● The immediacy of BBM chats
● Multi-person chats
● Voice note sharing
● BlackBerry Groups, where BBM users are able to set up groups of up to 30 people and share calendar, photos, files and more
*Voice chat to be included in later updates

RIM said "BBM is loved by customers for its “D” and “R” statuses, which show up in chats to let people know with certainty that their message has been delivered and read. It provides customers with a high level of control and privacy over who they add to their contact list and how they engage with them, as invites are two-way opt-in. iOS and Android users would be able to add their contacts through PIN, email, SMS or QR code scan, regardless of platform. Android users would also be able to connect using a compatible NFC-capable device."

Andrew Bocking, Executive Vice President, Software Product Management and Ecosystem, at BlackBerry had this to say:
“For BlackBerry, messaging and collaboration are inseparable from the mobile experience, and the time is definitely right for BBM to become a multi-platform mobile service. BBM has always been one of the most engaging services for BlackBerry customers, enabling them to easily connect while maintaining a valued level of personal privacy. We’re excited to offer iOS and Android users the possibility to join the BBM community.”

Jesus would have selflessly spent that money on fixing the roads to save thousands of innocent lives annually in nigeria.

Stick to the topic and stop talking because others are! what do you mean Jesus would have fixed the road? Where is your brain? Because he was bought a Jet now means he should carry the load of the Government? Better learn to stop arguing blindly And yes he gave reasons why he needs a private jet, if that reason doesn't appease anyone all you can do is talk and talk.

You obviously won't hear of any bomb blast today, but just wait till Christmas, and then you expect people to mind their business right?! Come on!

You see the problem is most of you will vote for obama based on feelings and emotions, Obama has been there for 4years if he has really tried and done all he 'promised' to do, then he should pave way for another person to lead, what does he need another 4years for?. Y'all just talk about Romeny and he's not yet the president you don't even know how efficient he will perform, and yet the Obama you have seen, led you and promised you Hope for 4years is still promising you that come on Really?!! Mohits might have been based on CC frud money but now am sure you can see and say for yourself that if they want to repay the person he defrauded it will be times 10, and who told you he's keeping it a secret? He even sang about it in 'Mobolowo won' It's people like you who wouldn't forget about the past just to keep saying negatives.
