It’s now evident that Tinubu has paid agents amongst the moderators on Nairaland. Make Tinubu rest Abeg! |

Peter Obi must be doing the right things considering the endless and ferocious attacks against him by Reno the rhino! Obi don choke Rhino! |
AlphaTaikun:Thanks, bruv! I speak Mandarin, Korean and some Japanese. Yes, 15 yrs no be moimoi! I’ve transversed this humongous country; ate some delicious, and weird foods; met some extraordinarily amazing and fantastically friendly people and on the other hand I’ve also had a few unpleasant experiences but all in all the good experiences have been way more than the bad ones. Speaking of Wode Maya, I’ve known and followed him since his days in China. I saw he got married recently to a Kenyan lady - Miss Trudy! And yes, the Chinese Yuan fell to a new low a few days ago but I’m optimistic the Yuan will rebound soon as I’m sure the government is putting measures to ensure the Yuan stabilizes because a weaker Yuan is inimical to the Chinese economy especially now that parts of the country is still under one form of lockdown or another. P.S: I dey dinner with some Chinese business people. I don high Baijiu- Chinese rice liquor! Eyes no clear at all.

Chai! This is nothing new; corruption has eaten deep into every sector of Nigeria. Corruption is so prevalent in Nigeria that it has become commonplace. The government knows about the corruption at the NIS, airports, armed forces, ministries…but it wouldn’t move a finger to address the ugly problem because the government itself is massively and fantastically corrupt! |
All the dummies praising Putin should equally be praising Buhari for his ineptitude. If una ever abuse again Buhari, na Idigun go twist una brains. |
At the end of the day, China is the one cashing out! |

2Lynx:Man don dey this area in and out since tey tey! Evergrande’s case showed the ever prevalent corruption in the real estate industry because as the erstwhile largest real estate coy it had unfettered access to stupendous loans. If the Chinese govt hadn’t stepped in swiftly to minimize the damages of Evergrande defaulting on its loans, the real estate market would’ve suffered irreparable losses. The ripple effects is still being felt because more and more potential homebuyers are now reluctant to purchase new homes especially in big metropolitan cities. On the flip side, Evergrande do build beautiful sprawling estates the same way Country Garden Coy. and China Vanke do. Of a truth, no coy no matter how behemoth it is in terms of structures, revenues, and job creation can be above the CCP party! You should read about Jack Ma and Alibaba! |
chaloskyx:See ‘painment’! Guy, go drink Panadol for your pains! See how you dey write without full stop! Na wow! Seriously, if you love Putin the Pussytin so much, you should be in Russia fighting for Russia. Why you still dey 9ja? Abeg, shift! |
Omokri rhymes with mockery. Reno rhymes with rhino. Reno Omokri has lost his moral compass for being a man who regurgitates his vomit; and a two-faced Pinocchio! |
2Lynx:You’re right. China isn’t an absolute Communist state even though her political system is mirrored after it. So, politically speaking, she leans towards communism in that absolute powers are in the hands of the leader of the CCP from whom orders, recommendations, decisions flow unopposed. Commercial-wise, China practices a blend of socialism and capitalism usually referred to as “Socialism with Chinese Characteristics” - a system that ensures that Chinese enterprise, corporation can invest and expand overseas but neither they nor any local companies are above the party because the party is supreme. Alibaba comes to mind! I for word plenty but China no be naija where person go dey word matter as e be else person fit remove without trace. Hahahah! |
owagbeba:Ni hao, Laohei! Ni de mingzi hen youqu! Shi de wo zai Zhongguo! Wo zai Zhongguo zhu le hen duo nian. Wo shi da pengyou, bu shi xiao pengyou ! What interesting conversations and views we’ve had. Bottom line is we both agree that China’s rise as a potential superpower is necessary for global stability. How she manages the enormous power she’s working so quietly and diligently to acquire will be seen in the not-so-distant future! Wo hen gaoxing ren shi ni, Laohei! |
owagbeba:Wo hen hao! Ni ne? You still do not understand how China works for someone who’s obviously smart. Well, one would be forgiven for not seeing the silent mechanism of economic hegemony at play because the arm-twisting by the World Bank, IMF on developing and less developing countries (I abhor the phrase ‘Third World Countries’) have caused deep resentments towards those financial institutions notably in Africa and in Latin America. So, the Chinese being adept at winning wars without firing a single shot have chosen to pursue economic, financial, ideological expansions through loans, and initiatives such as BRI - Belt and Road Initiative - a global infrastructural development strategy that currently has 137 countries as members including Nigeria. They say “The borrower (debtor) is a slave to the lender”. The debts could be in terms of infrastructures built, a humongous National Assembly building, an eye-catching African Union building, a fancy-looking train station etc. Someone reading this short piece might think I’m against China’s expansion or hegemony. No! On the contrary I’m in support of it because it’s about time the world had two superpowers for global equilibrium. What I’m against, however, is people deliberately avoiding to use the word hegemony when talking about China - a country where I’ve grown roots in! Call it what it is! Zai jian! |
owagbeba:Yes, I’m ‘Little Black’! From my moniker one can tell I do know some Chinese . Your first paragraph makes light of the concerns of the nations engulfed in the South China Sea disputes. I have friends from the Philippines who feel China has laid claims, and is building on islands belonging to them. The same sentiments are echoed by Vietnamese citizens. China hasn’t invaded any country; that’s a fact. And from all indications she isn’t going to pursue American’s style of hegemony. China’s hegemony is economical, not military! |
okeysoninv:“Practiced”. India still practices elements of socialism as are a number of countries but that does not make them socialist states. However socialism in its almost true definition is practiced only by a few countries like China, North Korea, Cuba…In principle, China practices socialism with Chinese characteristics. I’m sure you wouldn’t want to live in North Korea https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/socialist-countries |
okeysoninv:Under what economic system were all the developments in Europe, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, India….done? |
owagbeba:I agree with your second paragraph. The first paragraph is debatable and objectionable depending on who you ask. The Philippines, Vietnamese, Japanese and other nations caught in the South China Sea brouhaha would tell you China is seeking maritime hegemony by claiming islands in their own backyards. |
okeysoninv:Capitalism isn’t the bane of development. In fact capitalism is the reason there is so a lot of development in the world. A free market system ensures companies can set up branches outside of the geographical boundaries. It is the reason why your phone’s components were manufactured in different countries. Of course capitalism isn’t a perfect economic system; it has its drawbacks the same way every other economic and political systems have. America’s infrastructural woes are intricately linked to the division between the Democratic and Republican parties. |
Nice one from China - a country where infrastructural development is top priority. The new desert railway lines will help reduce travel time between cities in Xinjiang- the largest province in China. Honestly speaking, China is ahead of the United States in terms of modern infrastructures. The same is true of Japan and South Korea. The United States urgently needs to invest in modern infrastructures such as speed trains; modern airports ( five of the top ten global airports are found in Asia- Japan, Singapore, South Korea and China; and low cost housing estates. So does the US. lagging behind China in modern infrastructures translate to China being better than the United States? Absolutely not! The quality of life in the US. is way ahead that of China as seen in the number of Chinese citizens migrating to the United States in record numbers. One of the reasons why China can build projects quickly or destroy unprofitable projects is because of her political system where orders come directly from the leader at the top of the political hierarchy. It is the direct opposite in the United States where bills have to pass through various readings in Congress before they are either approved or rejected. |
FreeStuffsNG:It’s obvious that thing inside your skull isn’t working properly! How do you and your ilks sleep at night seeing the failure this country has become under Buhari’s administration? Why can’t you just speak the truth for once? You may have been paid peanuts to be a government keyboard warrior, was your conscience bought too? Don’t you have family members, friends, acquaintances … who are barely existing because of Buhari’s incompetencies? If Nigeria better na for everybody! May you return to your senses! |
Dear Tobi, for your sake avoid meeting Buhari oooo cos meeting him na failure you go dey experience. If you doubt me ask Anthony Joshua AJ. Abeg ooo! |
Hmm! Truly speaking, Nigerians celebrate gross mediocrity! Why do our leaders construct roads without paving the sidewalks? Why leave red earth on both sides of newly constructed roads? Nigerians! |
LienwaltAbel:Pure bollocks! Them want belong na! Awon yeye! |
LienwaltAbel:Make I release the laughter jare 哈哈哈哈哈 |
Why do I feel like laughing out loud? I dey hold the laugh ![]()

I have learnt a lot of things from the Chinese one of which is they DO NOT FORGET HISTORY! From the senior year of kindergarten, students are introduced to history such as the atrocities committed by the Japanese during its occupation especially the Nanjing Massacre. And that’s why the average Chinese person doesn’t view Japan favourably. When the former Japanese prime minister, Abe, was assassinated a few months ago, a large number of Chinese people were jubilant! At first I felt (and sometimes still feel) such jubilations were inconsiderate and downright insensitive. But after watching a video on YouTube that detailed Abe’s father’s alleged involvement in the Japanese occupation of China, my views began to change. Nigerians tend to forget their history. Rest In Peace, Queen Elizabeth! May your family find it right to return all the diamonds, gold, cultural relics…they pillaged from Africa. |
