A serving soldier or police needs to be dismissed before imprisonment, there's an immunity(sort of) attached to that uniform.

That's why you see them being dismissed or suspended before a criminal trial in the court.

Why are they now calling them fake police, to save face or what? These ones are real policemen, that's what some of them do, crime and illegal duty just to make quick cash.

When I was in the police I wasn't proud of myself being a policeman in fact it took my neighbours over a year before knowing I was one and that was when I was sent to go and arrest someone who happened to live in my street. I only put on the uniform while on duty.

On a serious note, nothing can stop Bello from going to jail. The incriminating evidence against him is overwhelming. Alternatively, he should get him lawyers to ask for out-of-court settlement or plea bargaining. Calling EFCC an illegitimate agency won't save him.

We have seen worse incriminating evidence against ex governors and they're still walking freely today.

Corruption is very hard to fight in Nigeria bcoz the person who's going to fight it too is corrupt.

EFCC chairman clearly said its beyond his power to arrest, he invited Yahaya Bello for interrogation and not for arrest, he accorded him the necessary respect, called him and explained that he wants him to clarify the allegation against him, he even told him that his interrogation will be in his own (EFCC chairman) office because bello said he feels the journalist will be around, yet Bello refused to come..
He explained that it's not all cases that EFCC will win, (they win some, they lose some)

This is wrong how can you just charge someone for a crime without inviting and interrogating him? A criminal case for that matter.

EFCC needs to invite/arrest and interrogate him.
The offenses allegedly committed will be showed to him and be sure they really have a case before proceeding to charge him to court.

Sometimes the accused will defend or clarify some of or all the accusations and EFCC will realize they don't have a strong case against him/her and decided to drop some of or all the charges.

Imagine what a retired judge is saying.

I've once been invited by the FBI on a serious allegation, I was able to clarify everything and they discovered I knew nothing about the crime, they apologized and drove me back to my hotel.
