armadeo: This has to be the most silly thing I have ever read on nairaland.
Utter nonsense you are spewing here.
A soldier cannot.go on strike. The laws binding the soldiers are not the same laws binding the civilian. Get that into your head.
Love and passion will feed thier family and pay thier Bill's abi?
The masses ate the problem because we dont face the government and here you are planning to target doctors and thier families for wanting what is thiers right.
A right to live , a right to work in a conducive environment to provide the best care. A right to be protected from death even though you walk across its path. All you can say is save me if you die in the act then good riddance.
Some of you have issues I will ignore your African emotion. A soldier can not go on strike abi, because he is not a human being? Because you want him to protect you and your family, even with understocked armoury. You don't think twice before uttering, do you? NMA is not involved, and they are talking about existing issues with their state government, not the general issue you were saying. Read, Blackman read before conclusion. |

ChelseaDr: They are not scared of covid-19, they are just asking for what is due to them...salary. Even the Bible stated that a worker deserves his wages. These people have families too.
Have you ever gone to kill a rattle snake with your bare hands, that is exactly what you expect these doctors to do, to confront covid-19 without personal protective equipments, haba guy, think about it.
Do you know in many hospitals today, patients still buy gloves for them to be seen? Tell the government to do the needful, if you are close to them. How would you feel if Nigeria is in a war with a another country and soldiers decide to go on strike? Doctors can go on strike anytime they want, but certainly not this time. All they agitate for always is their emolument, no love and passion for the job. Yes, I don't think any right thinking Nigeria will ever support the government on any issue, because they are useless. But I am beginning to realise that we the masses are more useless and wicked than the politicians, because new politicians who were part of the masses, get into office and, yet no change. Doctors going on strike this time, if they are not carefully the masses may begin to target them and their families. Everybody is angry now and looking for who to take it out on |

Sportwin: Sharap then get them what they need to act as doctors
Because at this point the only thing they have got is knowledge of the field not equipment
Which is one sided
So if you cant provide them Don't force them Shut up! Read well, they did not talk about ppe. Besides, how would you feel if at the time of war with another hostile country, Nigerian army decides to go on strike? All they always ask for is upgrade on emoluments, and they don't love the profession. I always insist they can't work with a covid19 patient without PPRs, that is certain. Mumu, always read well |

AIT1: I'm starting to have a rethink as regards this Covid19 cases in Nigeria. It is either the government is over- reporting or under-reporting this cases. I'm not convinced they are sincere with the figures, I might be wrong though.
But this is my take:
The Corona Virus in Nigeria is not as Lethal as we were made to believe. The late Abba Kyari came back to Nigeria March 14 and was diagnosed of the disease March 24, he attended several conferences, APC meetings and also led a delegation to the Kogi state Governor to greet him for the demise of his Mother amongst other things he did Within the 10 days.
Now, no single person was infected by the Late COS from the records, and the only record we have of someone infecting another person is Atiku son that infected the Bauchi Governor.
Hence, I believe all this hullabaloo about the spread of the disease here is weak. We've been on lockdown for about 25 days and we have barely tested 10,000 persons. It's obvious the government is not ready to do mass testing and the cases reported kept rising, so of what use is the Lockdown? What's the objectives of the Total Lockdown?
The government just need to devise any other mechanism for curbing this disease; a total lockdown cannot be sustained.
We were told the virus symptoms and it's complications will start showing after 14 days, since we've been at home how many people has fallen ill suddenly or died unexpectedly in each of our areas across the country. All of us sha can never be asymptomatic.
If they want to share the money, they should go and share it, they should leave us to go and continue our hustle. We are not able to sleep at night, vigilante up and down.
My Verdict: The lockdown should be partial, people can move around with facemask and any other thing to protect themselves. Schools, mosques, churches can still hold on. People are broke and hunger is real! All these your episode was just to oppose lockdown, you for just go straight to the point. Most of your arguments were not valid, yet partial lockdown won't be a bad idea, especially for personal and national economy. Seriously, I don't blame you, government constant falsehood and corruption make us to say different things in every direction. And I don't blame us, they are corrupt, but we are more corrupt because government is from us, from our families. New entrants into politics every day, yet none has been different. We are more evil than politicians, go to any office and see for yourself. I am tired of blame game. |

Agbayaa, you got me laughing loud. Honestly, you said it all. The case is almost in every state now, so any idiot that wants to know should go to their state treatment center and do what you said. One woman told me it was government ploy to eat money. She said that they should release the names of those who have or died from it. I was very angry, so I asked her if she would love government to give publicity to the identity of her family member , if any has covid19. She then kept quiet. |

DanseMacabre: Tragic.
To be candid though, I'd rather put the blame on the failed government than on the medical personnel. The behaviour of the medical personnel towards the man's wife is a fallout of the government's refusal to provide them with equipment for fighting this virus. Stop covering up for them. Government has its own blame, but not this. They refused to make attempt at stabilizing a patient. As soon as she died, PPE came out from no where. If you know how many patients die by doctors and nurses nonchalance, inefficiency, negligence and stubbornness you won't say this. In st Joseph maternity and FMC all in Asaba, I have heard of patients that just died by the negligence of medical workers |
