MisterGrace: Considering the massive negative testimony that Mr. Oshiomhole gave about Ize some years ago, it is surprising that the same Oshiomhole is selling the very product that he gave a bad review against.
It is unclear whether Mr. Ize Iyamu has turned a new leaf.
Analysts say that Mr. Oshiomhole is only using Mr. Ize Iyamu as a necessary evil to get back at Governor Obaseki, against the popular opinion that he (Oshiomhole) wants better governance for Edo State.
Question is, why is Mr. Ize Iyamu suddenly a credible person that even President Buhari would endorse?
The outstanding corruption case against Mr. Ize Iyamu, has it been concluded yet?
Why does Oshiomhole thinks he's known Mr. Ize Iyamu enough to entrust the whole states resources into his hands?
Did he enter into some very dangerous oath with Mr. Ize Iyamu?
What's your take? Is Oshishort a candidate in this election? Tell him to leave G.G.O. alone before he brings the wrath of natural judgement upon himself. This is my take. |

Penaldo: The former National Auditor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Fatai Adeyanju, is dead.
He died in the early hours of Saturday at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta, at the age of 59 years. The remains of the politician would be buried according to Islamic injunctions at his Asero residence in Abeokuta.
The late Adeyanju, a chartered accountant and a one-time governorship aspirant in Kogi State has been described as a peaceful man.
In a statement issued by the state’s Publicity Secretary of PDP, Sunkanmi Oyejide, the sudden departure of Adeyanju is a great loss to members of the immediate and political families of the deceased.
Oyejide described the deceased as “a gentleman and loyal party man who was committed to the unity and progress of PDP.”
“The late Alhaji Fatai Adeyanju was a complete gentleman and dutiful party leader who was ready to sacrifice anything for the growth of the party. Among other party and political offices, Adeyanju, a Chartered Accountant, served our party as National Auditor to the best of his abilities”.
“He was a peacemaker and a friend of all. This is a great loss to the PDP family. It is so sad that we have lost him. He was always responsive and desirous that things should be done justly and properly.
“Politicians should learn to be simple and not to take the quest for offices as a do-or-die affair.
Adeyanju became the National Auditor of our great party when he least expected it and he stayed faithful to the party till the end.
He will be sorely missed.
“We pray the Almighty Allah to grant members of his immediate family and the Ogun State PDP in general, the courage to bear the irreplaceable loss, and also grant the departed Aljanah Firdaus,” he said.

Godoverevery: Edo state is in the front burner right now I think is time we understand politics. It was easier for the like of wike, udom to fight godfatherism because there state were already PDP and structure was already in place but in the case of Edo it is not....politics is all about interest and trust me there are power that be.... obaseki is fighting a war relaying on the masses which is scary (very scary)....u can't trust the Nigeria masses in politics. The people he is fighting are smart politicians ,they are more experience in this game....this are people who move discretely, deal with you without making a sound....they have dealt with politicians bigger than him Obaseki is too predictable which is a disadvantage....he is showing is card too much. Ambode wasn't foolish or weak rather he understood there no sense fighting a war already lost infact is deputy dump him before the game even begin.
Obaseki still have a lil chance compare to ambode but am just scared he is banking on the masses which is very risky. Politics is local and election isn't won on the internet......obaseki needs to fight smarter and talk less. It is more better to fight a battle than not to fight at all. G.G.O. is not a small boy in politics. Wishing him all the best in his dogmatisms. |

Politics › Re: China's Role In Nigeria's Debt Problem And Misunderstanding Of Sovereign Clause by Xscape1993(m): 4:57pm On Aug 07, 2020 |
Alarinka1: The role of China in Nigeria's debt problem has led to a confrontation between the Executive and the House of Representatives. The Federal Government had been questioned on why China remains its major source of loan as the fear of China, thanks to it's antecedent in underdeveloped and developing countries, spreads across Nigeria.
The government has also been criticised over the contract terms of the agreement it had with China in respect of the project finance, which includes sovereign guarantee. The contract clause has led to many believing FG has transferred Nigeria's sovereignty to the Asian country just to obtain financial support from China - but this is a misconception of what sovereign guarantee actually mean.
What You Should Know About Nigeria/China Debt
Reduces Nigeria's Debt Service Provision: Compared to other sources of loan, China provides - through Beijing-based Export-Import Bank of China - Nigeria with soft loan that are project tied. The loan comes with low interest rate of 2.5 percent with a tenor of 20 years, including grace period of seven years. This reduces the Debt Service provision in the Annual Budget lower than it would have been.
The Infrastructures Built From Chinese Loans: The Chinese loans are project tied. It is spent on eleven projects; Nigerian Railway Modernization Project (Idu-Kaduna section), Abuja Light Rail Project, Nigerian Four Airport Terminals Expansion Project (Abuja, Kano, Lagos and Port Harcourt), Nigerian Railway Modernization Project (Lagos-Ibadan section).
Part of the project includes Rehabilitation and Upgrading of Abuja-Keffi- Makurdi Road Project. These projects will play a role in the repayment of the Chinese debt, as they are revenue generating projects or have the potential to generate revenue for the country.
The Debt Management Office (DMO), while reacting to the controversy trailing the Chinese loan, had stated that, “the projects also have the added benefits of job creation, not only by themselves but through direct and indirect service providers, a number of which are Small and Medium Enterprises”.
China Is Not Nigeria's Main Source Of Loan
China, according to DMO, accounts for 3.94% of Nigeria’s total public debt of $79.303 billion, as China's loan to Nigeria stands at $3.121 billion. This represents 11.28 percent of Nigeria’s external debt profile of $27.67 billion at the time.
Meanwhile, other loan sources on Nigeria's external debt list show that the World Bank Group tops the list of Nigeria's external debt with $10.1 billion, Eurobonds account for a total $10.86 billion or 39% of external debt.
Also, as of February 2020, Nigeria has an African Development Bank (AfDB) outstanding loan of $2.1 billion - Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Nigeria got about €288.5 million in addition. Nigeria got $3.4 billion IMF COVID-19 relief loan in April. Meanwhile, three months ago, Nigeria was relieved of the €22.4 million (N8.9 billion) debt it owed Germany.
Why China Became Nigeria's Go-to-source For Loan
While China is not Nigeria's main source for loan, it has become the most recent source for quick or project tied loan. Aside from China providing Nigeria soft loan of low interest rate, the Asian country was the only.... https://allnews.ng/news/breakdown-of-china-s-role-in-nigeria-s-debt-problem-and-misunderstanding-of-sovereign-clause What have we gained from all these loans? Politics › Re: You'll See Buhari's Achievements If You Calm Down- Adesina by Xscape1993(m): 4:30pm On Aug 07, 2020 |
nairapark: The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, says Nigerians will only see the achievements of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), if they “calm down”.
Adesina said this in an article titled, ‘Why We Need to Calm Down’.
The President’s spokesman made several references to a viral video showing a little boy Oreofeoluwa Babalola, pleading with his mum not to beat him but rather calm down.
He said like the little boy pleaded in the video, Nigerians need to calm down and stop being angry about the problems plaguing the nation.
Adesina wrote, “But if the truth the told, that message from the boy is for the entire country. We need to calm down. We are too uptight, nervy, edgy. We grumble, murmur too much, call the government a lot of names, try to demonise those serving the nation, when it could be ‘our last chance; last chance in the world’ to really fix things.
“If you listen to some people; angry youths, religious leaders, political analysts, newspaper columnists, news reviewers, so-called activists, then nothing positive is happening in the country. It is all about insurgency, banditry, killings, joblessness, corruption, lack and deprivation. True? False!”
The President’s aide said the things many complain about are not peculiar to Nigeria.
He said Nigerians would only see good things if they calmed down.
Adesina wrote, “Those things are there, as they are also in many countries of the world. But they are not the only things happening in Nigeria. Only that we would not see the positive things except we calmed down. We would never enjoy the rainfall, if we expect rainstorm to carry away our rooftop at any moment. Calm down. I’m just telling you to be ‘calming’ down.
“We will see the things that pertain to the peace of our country, if we would just calm down. As the young boy said, “this is my last chance; last chance in the world.”
He said last Sunday, a retired Group Captain, Sadeeq Garba (Retd), said the killings in the country were sad and regrettable, but things were not as completely negative as some people and interest groups would want to make them seem.
Quoting what he called reliable statistics from the Centre for Research in the United States, the retired officer gave these figures of the evil development from 2011, in number of total killings as thus: 2011 (1096 deaths), 2012 (3761), 2013 (7167), 2014-(15,600) 2016 (4618), 2017 (5763), 2018 (6565), 2019 (8350) and 2020 was 6195 deaths as of June.
Adesina said the figures showed that killings under the current government were less than the previous one.
“But why do some people want to make it appear as if we hadn’t passed through worse times in this country? Forget about who was in power as President. It is not about individuals now, it is about the descent of a country into the Hobbesian state of nature, where life is nasty, brutish and short.
“Killings dropped from 15,600 in 2014 to 4,618 in 2016 but not one positive word simply because their eyes are blinded by negative thoughts and sentiments. And they now need to calm down. Rather than upbraid, our security agencies should be challenged and encouraged to rediscover what they did in 2016,” Adesina added.

odiks: Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has described the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as a roguish party which wanted to snatch away Edo State like “a pickpocket eyeing someone’s purse in the market”.
The Governor, who stated this on Friday through his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Mohammed while reacting to the impeachment of the speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, described the emergence of the new principal officers as a welcome development.
The Kogi State helmsman while averring that Edo was an APC State which was snatched through the back door by the PDP, assured the Edo APC and her candidate Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of a resounding victory in the September 19 election.
He felicitated with Mr Victor Edoror and Emmanuel Agbaje the new speaker and deputy speaker, respectively of the Edo State House of Assembly following their election by a majority of members in the Edo State capital, Benin City.
Governor Bello who said Kogi State is very interested in peace within her neighbour Edo, noted that since both states share a long boundary line, any breakdown of law and order in the latter was bound to cause security and other troubles for the former.
He urged the new speaker and members of the Edo State House of Assembly to swing into action immediately to restore order to the state legislature and find ways to work with other arms of their government in the best interests of Edo people.
It will be recalled that 17 members of the 24-man Edo Assembly elected new leadership on Thursday with a pledge to restore order to the state legislature which had been embroiled in longstanding crises.
Before then, seven members belonging to the PDP and allegedly backed by Governor Godwin Obaseki, the embattled Governor of the state, had taken over the duties of the Assembly and purportedly impeached the former deputy speaker for declaring support for the APC.

Family › Re: I Am Cancelling All Marriage Plans Because Of What My Girlfriend Did To My Niece by Xscape1993(m): 7:12am On Aug 06, 2020 |
Anigreat: I'm sorry to bother you all this early morning with this my story.
Apologies for any blunders spotted, and sorry for the lengthy post.
I have a niece who unfortunately the mother died when she was barely a month old, and her mother was my only sibling as my mother gave birth to two of us, remaining only me now. Her death was really painful to us, but i thank God for consoling us especially my mother.
During her pregnancy, she never made mentioned of the person responsible for her pregnancy inspite of my mother's threat. When the inevitable happened we had no other option than to adopt the child. We were praying earnestly that the child survive, glory to God she did survive though it wasn't easy, as at now she's 14years old and currently in SSS1.
Last week my mum called me that my niece says she's coming to Uyo were i am staying to stay with me since there's no school for now, which i obliged to it immediately. Prior before this call, my girlfriend whom i intended to marry was staying with me. I informed her immediately that my niece is coming to stay with us for a short period of time, immediately i told her this, her countenance change through out that day. I keep on asking her what the matter was but she keep on saying nothing.
Monday last weekmy niece arrived my place.
My dears ever since my niece set her foot in my house, this girlfriend of mine whom i intended to marry turned to something else. She stop cooking, washing and sweeping, all she does is to ordered my niece around as her house help. I was so hurt seeing this that i confronted her thinking that she will change, but she went from bad to worst.
Yesterday morning i overheard her telling my niece to wash the toilet and mop the floor before thinking of eating. My niece replied that she's too tired that she won't be able to do it(I was actually happy inside when i hear this)
What follows next was a sounding knocked she gave to my niece and the poor girl screamed and started crying.
Truth be said, i was so furious that came out of the room. I didn't asked her anything i just told her your cup is full today. I dealt with her seriously. The beating i gave to her was out of this world, that she was bleeding, though later in the day i took her to a nearby clinic for treatment.
I have learnt alot this few days. Men should be careful of the type of women they intend to settle down with.
As some of them will manipulate you that you start hating your family members or stop them from coming to your house for no reasons if you're not strong.
I want her to get well after that i will put an end to the relationship, all marriage plan cancel, and no going back and no regret.
Imagine if I've gone ahead to marry her. Is this how she will be maltreating my niece? obviously i will forever leave in regrets.
If you ask me if i feel sorry for beating her, truth is, there's no atom of regret in me, and i will never feel sorry for her. If she has the mind to maltreat a poor girl whose mother is late, she's capable of anything.
Insults are welcome. She is not a wife tool if you ask me. She lacks care & love for others. Be careful my dear. |
