z07ion: The United States Guatemala Bay Detention Camp in Cuba was established in January 2002, by President W Bush’s administration during the “War on Terror”, to indefinitely detain/isolate extraordinarily dangerous people, to interrogate detainees, to prosecute detainees for war crimes, extract information through torture instead of de-radicalising them in US Prisons - a system which Amnesty International condemned as major human rights violation which were also offensive to the “Due Process Clause”, of the American Constitution and principles of the Geneva Convention!
On assumption of office President Barack Obama according to Wikipedia, moved to close the military prison located within Guantanamo Bay Naval Base but was opposed by strong bipartisan opposition from the US Congress which passed laws to prohibit detainees from the detention camp from being imprisoned in the US.
Obama however reduced the number of inmates from about 245 to 41 by freeing and transferring them to other countries while in May 2018, one prisoner was transferred during Donald Trump’ first term to reduce the number to 40.
Similar programmes across world nations were treated with “human face” because each country embarked on fresh ideas of de-radicalization peculiar and applicable to their culture, tradition, religion and environment. For instance, in South East Asian countries of Indonesia, Singapore, Malay etc, de-radicalization of terrorists normally took place when such criminals had completed their prison terms.
In Nigeria, the program did not receive much publicity until 600 de-radicalised Boko Haram terrorists were treated to a “send forth” ceremony organised by the Nigeria Army on Wednesday 13th July, all dressed in white fabric “aso ebi” (uniformed), and customised face masks which invoked an ambience of love and camaraderie.
SHOULD THESE EX-TERRORISTS BE RELEASED NOW?
Could this be the opportune time to release and re-integrate the “600 repentant” Boko Haram terrorists into the society when their counterparts were outrageously shedding innocent blood of fellow Nigerians and publishing videos of their heinous crimes on the social media?
*Can a leopard change its colour? Have the Nigerian Army authorities suddenly forgotten that these set of young Nigerians have been meticulously brainwashed and sworn to oaths of allegiance?
*Have they also forgotten that the so-called de-radicalized terrorists were indoctrinated on recruitment by their commanders with very bitter ideology of vengeance which have been permanently engrafted in their brains and may not or can never be erased from their memories till death?
De-Radicalization of repentant terrorists should be a two-way counter-terrorism approach: to dissuade future occurrences and Proffer assurance that government would always be faithful to provide all constitutional social needs to keep the citizens fully occupied in vocational/employable jobs, provide free education to at least senior secondary school level, functional clinics/maternity centres/hospitals etc.
But what format did the Army authorities apply in orientation/re-orientation of these renegades to assure law-abiding citizens that their re-integration, rehabilitation etc, would be seamless without backlashes and regrets? How could a wild animal like a leopard be tamed to forget to eat raw flesh and blood?
NIGERIAN ARMY’S REPORT ON DE-RADICALIZATION OF BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS! De-radicalised programs were commissioned from 2014 with one in Kuje Prison, Abuja; the second, Operation Safe Corridor, in 2016 to handle captured BH combatants and the third, Yellow Ribbon Initiative, located in Bornu State communities, supervised a non-profit organization, the Neem Foundation, set up in 201, to cater for women, children and young people who were associated with Boko Haram, while the third, Operation Safe Corridor, supervised by the Federal Government to accommodate Boko Haram (BH), terrorists who voluntarily surrendered or were captured in the process of warfare to de-radicalize, orientate, rehabilitate and re-integrate them into the larger society.
On Monday 13th July, 2020, 600 of them who were captured in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe but have now denounced their membership and swore oath of allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria have been freed according to a military spokesman who also disclosed that in past years, about 1,400 of them who had done likewise had been released while about 280 terrorist were still accommodated at the Army Rehabilitation Centre.
He further disclosed that BH terrorist attacks have recorded over 30,000 fatal casualties and displaced nearly 3 million since July 2009, in the North East region! Government says that the releases were part of its four- year old de-radicalization program of Operation Safe Corridor predicated from 2016, on an assumption that a stick and carrot approach could diminish their radical extremist indoctrination and violent religious ideologies.
DE-RADICALIZATION OF TERRORISTS IN OTHER CLIMES! De-radicalization programs in Africa – apart from Nigeria also include its Lake Chad Basin countries – Niger, Cameroon and Chad, who have their own versions just like South East Asia countries of Indonesia, Malay and Singapore where inmates serving the jail terms for terrorism-related offences, the South Americas, Northern Ireland, where inmates were treated with kindness and love – which explains why Nigeria cannot be the odd country out?
Has de-radicalization which is an attempt to bring terrorist inmates safely to good social life after the prison release and usually conducted in prison, actually worked in any country of the universe? OF COURSE NOT BUT SOME LITTLE PERCENTAGE OF THE WHOLE LOT OF DE-RADICALIZED TERRORISTS ACTUALLY CHANGED FOR THE BETTER!
ALLEGATIONS OF CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA’S DE-RADICALIZATION PROGRAMS?
There were accusations and suspicions that the Nigerian attempt at de-radicalization of repentant terrorists was corrupted by unscrupulous officials who did not play according to the rules because unrepentant and most dangerous ones were often left off the hook to become spies for their groups which perpetrate more crimes with military precision!
HOW A RELIGIOUS SECT TURNED FRANKENSTEIN MONSTERS!
Mohammed YUSUF, formed a small Islamic group to perpetrate his own kind of religious ideology which was completely at variance to the most popular Sunni Muslims practiced in the Northern States of Nigeria and in August 2009, he was apprehended by the Army for disturbing public peace through his radical religious preaching, handed over to the Police who brutally murdered him in cold blood!
Since that incident, government neither denied, apprehended the culprits nor brought them to justice and so his disciples swore to avenge their leader’s death through violent reprisals!
WHERE WAS SENATOR ALI NDUME WHEN BOKO HARAM WAS BIRTHED?
Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District, Gwoza, Bornu State and many Nigerians were opposed to the entire exercise because THOUSANDS OF TRAUMATIZED Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), are languishing in isolation at the camps for several years without hope of reprieve or succor in any form from either State or Federal Government in spite of the establishment of the NORTH EAST DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (NEDC), established to cater for the region!
BUT where were they when the Government/Military de-radicalization idea was mooted? Whose idea was it? What was the rationale behind the whole exercise from the onset because it was told that many of the BH PRISONERS OF WAR (POW), voluntarily surrendered to the Federal troops and confessed that they were CONSCRIPTED!
While the program lasted, what useful information did the “repentant” BH terrorists reveal to end the eleven-year-old brutal war against innocent Nigerian citizens?
What measures have Nigerian Army put in place to checkmate the new de-radicalized terrorists from going back to their vomit like dogs?
HAVE THEY BEEN GRAFTED WITH GPRS CHIPS IN ORDER TO MONITOR ALL OF THEIR MOVEMENTS?
In spite of the amnesty offered through de-radicalization of this new batch of 600 men, BH Terrorists had remained ruthless in their blood-letting operations for the past 10 years and was bent on establishing an Islamic Caliphate in North-East Nigeria.
SHOULD NIGERIANS FORGIVE AND EMBRACE THEM AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED?
The divine injunction of the Word of God says that if we refuse to forgive those who have offended us, our Father in Heaven would not forgive our offenses also! (Matthew. 6: 14-15). We should all remember that to err is human and to forgive, divine; and also that forgiveness does not favour the offender BUT the offended!
Someday not too far from now BOKO HARAM INSURGENCY WOULD HAVE BEEN BURIED IN THE HISTORY BOOKS IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST! Amen.

prof2007: Outrage As FG Pampers Repentant Terrorists While IDPs Suffer
The recent graduation of about 600 repentant Boko Haram terrorists and their planned reintegration into society by the Federal Government has again triggered debate on the appropriateness or otherwise of that move by the government. In this piece, TUNDE AJAJA examines the implications of this for the Nigerian state
The warm reception the Nigerian government accorded repentant Boko Haram terrorists, who have over the years killed thousands of Nigerians, wreaked havoc on the Nigerian state and fought brazenly to shred the sovereignty of this country, is again a matter of serious concern to many Nigerians. This perhaps, is one issue that won’t go away quickly, especially as their co-fighters are still in the North-East, especially Borno State, killing unarmed civilians and Nigerian soldiers alike in droves.
The carnage caused by this dreaded group is (to say the least) terrifying; a situation pushing many Nigerians, including security experts to ask questions about the controversial move by the government.
“It (the rehabilitation and planned reintegration) is a mistake and a very unfortunate circumstance because reality is being stood on its head,” said Ona Ekhomu, a seasoned security expert and analyst. “The perpetrators are getting a soft landing; they are living on government largesse, all in some unproven claims that they have been deradicalised, which we know is not true.
“When somebody commits murder, you keep them in jail for life or you even hang them, yet these people who are beheading others, bombing people and killing thousands are being given a soft landing. Part of the problem we have is that we don’t have our priorities right.”
Ekhomu, who is the chairman of Trans-World Security Systems Ltd., added, “I totally oppose it and think it’s very inhuman of whoever the policymaker is that came up with the idea they should be rehabilitating those fighters.”
The terrorists, who on their part have shown no mercy on the Nigerian state and its citizens, have not only kidnapped and violated many, including young schoolgirls (turning them to sex slaves and suicide bombers), they have murdered many, beheaded some, executed some openly, burnt some to ashes and turned many children to orphans, wives to widows and men to widowers.
Victims of their virulent attacks have fled for cover in different parts of the country, many are constrained to live a day at a time in camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs) while some do not even know if their loved ones are still alive or merely missing, due to the attacks.
For example, on 23 March 2020, the insurgents, some of whom are now being welcomed back into the society they have desecrated, laid ambush for some Nigerian soldiers and killed about 70 of them in one fell swoop. This is in addition to overrunning military bases and killing troops in several other attacks.
Of the torrent of attacks, the most recent was the attack on the convoy of Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State and the multiple bombings that killed six persons and left about 27 persons injured few days ago. Since the insurgency started in 2009, about 100,000 Nigerians are said to have been killed – the number is still rising – while about 2.3 million persons have been displaced.
Meanwhile, with all these, many people have expressed worry that government is carrying on with the said rehabilitation of the ex-terrorists, in an operation tagged ‘Operation Safe Corridor’. For example, the Chairman, Senate Committee on the Army, Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South Senatorial District, in an interview with BBC Hausa Service on Wednesday, said terrorists never repent. He described the initiative as unacceptable to the people and that government should stop the programme forthwith.
He added, “Not that they even apologised to you, they only apologised to the government with the thinking that government has failed and that is why they are being pampered. They (terrorists) are like Kharijites. Many among those released have since run away. They will never repent.” He pointed out that one of the repentant terrorists had disappeared after killing and robbing his father.
Meanwhile, speaking further on the ills of the initiative, Ekhomu, who earned the Certified Protection Officer Instructor from the United States-based International Foundation for Protection Officers, stated that the programme was a reflection of misplaced priorities, noting that the country should have learnt from what happened to the late leader of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, Ibrahim al-Baghdadi.
He added, “They (the terrorists) have been a great threat to society and they ought to be held. The point is that Operation Safe Corridor is a mistake. It’s a mistake and a bad strategy because they cannot guarantee the outcome or that it would meet the policy objectives. I keep telling them the famous story of (Abu Bakr) al-Baghdadi, who was released in a similar manner by the US military in Iraq. They didn’t know at that time they were releasing a guy who would go on to behead many Americans, Europeans and cause the death of many people.
“Even though al-Baghdadi is in his grave, his hands are still here in the North-East of Nigeria, causing havoc for us. So, what they are doing is recycling the fighters and soldiers would wonder why government is bringing in these people to fight them again. It’s a nation that fights a war, not the army and that is why we have other institutions. Why can’t the criminal justice system work? You keep them in a place for 6 months and then you turn back and say they are graduating them. What graduation?”
Ekhomu described the programme as indefensible, noting that it must have been an initiative of the Boko Haram sympathisers. “Many of the sympathisers have departed from it because they have seen the dangers in this, yet we are still defending it,” he said. “The other day, I saw one very laughable and ridiculous statement that the repentant terrorists have sworn allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria; I laughed and asked if people could be so funny.
“You mean a Jihadi guy swore allegiance to Nigeria, how does that work? They don’t care about you or your authorities; they don’t care about your government, neither do they have any regard for them. This is a very bad policy that should never have been brought in. As of Friday, the war had been on for 11 years and 4 days and here we are. It started July 26, 2009 in Bauchi State; is it not enough already? Killing their leader, Mohammed Yusuf, extrajudicially in July 2009 in Maiduguri is the silliest thing they (police) have ever done.
“You never kill the head of an insurgency; you take him alive so he can talk to his guys. We killed Yusuf but we are faced with Abubakar Shekau. Look at where we are.”
Similarly, a security consultant and fellow, Institute of Security, Nigeria, Mr Chigozie Ubani, said even though he wasn’t privy to what informed the decision to pardon the ex-fighters, they should be serving different jail terms considering what they were reported to have committed. He explained that intelligence should have been extracted from them to strengthen the war against insurgency. “But I doubt, going by what we have, if that was done effectively or convincingly,” he said.
He added, “The decision to rehabilitate and reintegrate them into society is flawed, in my own view, but I wouldn’t know what informed it and I wouldn’t have advised that such measure be taken because these guys would hardly repent. They were indoctrinated and most would still believe in whatever led them into fighting the state. So, they couldn’t have been baptised overnight. It is a big risk and that is not good for the nation.”
Speaking on how this affects the soldiers at the front, he said, “When you look at what is going on, the soldiers are fatigued and demoralised. These people (pardoned insurgents) have in the past unleashed a lot of mayhem on these soldiers and you want them to watch you rehabililtate them and reintegrate them into society. So, what were they fighting for in the first place?
“I have said before that it is wrong for these young men to be in the theatre of war continuously for a period of 9 months, and some of them have overstayed there. The whole thing has taken its toll on the Nigerian defence system. They need some measure of therapy to be sane again.”
In the view of Prof Oni Fagboungbe, a psychologist, reintegrating ex-terrorists into the society is like condoning absurdity, as he noted that when people have fought against the country, killed many people and are reintegrated, it could only serve as motivation to do worse things, knowing they could always come back to enjoy amnesty. He stressed that such rehabilitation and reintegration would be better done when the war is over.
He said, “We are fighting insurgents, the war is raging and every day they are getting sophisticated, and at the same time, you are giving the terrorists reinforcement, motivating them to continue. If rehabilitation will be done, it’s usually when war has ended and the enemy has been defeated; that is when you think of things like that. What it implies is that in this country, our major decisions are influenced by ethnic considerations.
“If somebody is doing something obnoxious to the country, and at the same time you are motivating him, how would they stop that behaviour? They won’t. In fact, it becomes a double source of motivation for them. The problem is that the system pampers people who do things that are not in the interest of the country. When you are motivating them, they would continue with that behaviour.”
He described as inhuman the move to bring back into the society those who have killed thousands of people and committed serious atrocities. “What the government is saying invariably is that it lacks capacity and willpower to deal with the situation,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Coordinator, OPSC, Major General Bamidele Shaffa, had said in February that the aim of the OPSC was to de-radicalise, rehabilitate and reintegrate repentant Boko Haram members. As of February, Shaffa said since the programme kicked off in 2016, 280 ex-fighters had so far graduated and been transferred to their respective states for reintegration into the society. And at another graduation a week ago, about 600 ex-fighters were said to have been rehabilitated, bringing the total so far to about 880 graduates.
At the recent graduation, where many of them were clad in attire with the colours of the Nigerian flag – green and white – the government promised them N20,000 each, equipment to carry out their vocations and a promise to pay the rent of their shops.
Last week, Borno State Commissioner for Information, Babakura Jatau, told Sunday PUNCH that the funds and the starter packs were given to the repentant terrorists by the North East Development Commission, noting that only about 10% of the 601 repentant terrorists were actually Boko Haram members while the rest were those who were abducted and became accomplices.
Prior to the controversial granting of amnesty for these ex-terrorists, however, the National Assembly in February 2020 considered a bill which sought to give the repentant terrorists free foreign education, ostensibly at the expense of the stressed Nigerians they had tormented for years.
Section 5(m) of the bill, sponsored by Senator Ibrahim Geidam of Yobe East, read in part, “(The agency shall) implement programmes geared towards rehabilitation of beneficiaries, engage the services of offshore and Nigerian institutions in the pursuit of the educational needs of ex-agitators.”
While the senator defended the bill that attracted severe public criticism, it is worthy of note that there has not been any such robust package for the thousands of victims of the attacks. In the various camps, the displaced persons, mostly malnourished, live in very harsh conditions, while the families of some soldiers who died at the battlefield have at several times complained of neglect by the government.
Apart from the entitlement due the next-of-kin of slain soldiers, the wives of the fallen heroes thereafter relied on the Defence and Police Officers Wives Association, which is merely an association that largely draws its financial strength from members’ contributions.
Meanwhile, Ndume had also pointed out in his interview that instead of spending money on the former fighters, such should be used to train the victims. He stated, “If there is sincerity of purpose in this, those in the IDPs’ camps should be trained in various trades and vocations so that they could start life again.”

Christianity Etc › Re: What You May Not Have Been Told About Carrying The Cross by Xscape1993(m): 5:47pm On Aug 03, 2020 |
MistadeRegal: Good evening everyone. It is by the grace of GOD that we all see the light of today... All blessings, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honour, power, might, adoration, exaltation, dominion, kingdom, judgment, majesty, excellency, be unto GOD forever. Amen.
Do not forget, let your mind be with GOD in whatever you do, think, say... For the days are getting closer at the rising of every morning sun. Third World War 'might' be coming before the rise of the Antichrist... Pray. World War I casualties: about 40 million. World War II casualties: about 85 million.
Now, within 1945 to 2020, there had been 75 years of massive expansion and development in military defense mechanisms, systems, formation and artillery. Which means much more casualties of war loading.
The world leaders might be calling and the people crying for peace, but how many of them are laying down arms for peace to reign? 1942 to 1945, only one nation was able to build an A-bomb. But today, nuclear warhead is the pride of several nation's military defense.
Now, are these for hunting deers or elks?
And we say the world will be better and safer to dwell in? Well perhaps not this very planet earth. Because it's coming to take heavy damage and several bodies lying on the streets dead and wasted away... But pray that no matter what, you do not have to partake in it.
Someone may tell you it's not necessary to pray because you already have GOD in you... I laughed when I heard a preacher say that because when CHRIST JESUS was on earth, despite being who he is, he prayed all through the night without sleeping or tired of praying. And you think you don't need to pray?
If CHRIST JESUS can say this in Luke 18:1 "And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;" then who is anyone to say prayer is not necessary because GOD dwells in us?
Therefore, do not let the fire of prayer in you quench. Because that's what the devil your enemy is always waiting for.... before he strikes when you're too relaxed to pick up your weapons of warfare again...which is prayer.
Never underestimate the power of/in prayer/praying. It is like two strikers on a football pitch taking a one-two shot to a goal. One shoots an assist and the other takes the goal shot. You are the player on assist. Your prayer is the ball and GOD makes your prayer a goal.
Therefore, never be weary of prayer. And now, a prayer point: Tell GOD you're saying these prayers in advance before the time it's needed, that whenever the time shall come that people begin to take the Mark of the Beast, that, according to his Word here:
Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth; GOD please keep me safe.
For JESUS CHRIST has spoken before now that: "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." Luke 21:36.
More is still coming to the world. Because the world must be tested to know those who truly believe and those who just did with their lips... GOD cannot be mocked neither deceived with eye, lips and vain service or worship. Be you also ready.
That's why JESUS CHRIST said: "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." Matthew:24:13; "In your patience possess ye your souls." Luke:21:19; "For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled." Luke:21:22.
Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Believing on the LORD JESUS CHRIST is all you need to be able to enter the Kingdom of GOD. But do not think it ends there because you might face persecutions which will tempt you to deny him. There are some who deceive others with the following words:
"Peter denied the LORD and repented later. If you face such situation as death, being forced or asked to deny your faith or get killed, deny JESUS CHRIST and repent later." My brethren, that's Satan talking to you. Remember there is power in confession.
For the fact that you denied JESUS CHRIST does not mean those threatening you will set you free. It is a tactic to make sure you never enter into the Kingdom of GOD. That's why our LORD JESUS CHRIST said be faithful unto death and I'll give you a crown of life.
No matter what you face, stand your ground. If they'll release you, they will. If GOD will make them release you, He will. If they'll kill you, they will. If GOD will let them kill you that He might bring you up to Him, He will. But one thing is, NEVER DENY CHRIST.
Though this is not as easy as it seem, but it's the only thing to do. Because our LORD JESUS CHRIST had briefed before that:
"These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me." John:16:1-3
Now, observe what is going on around the world? Today, Christians remain the most persecuted people all over the world both at home and abroad. Targeted to be killed because of their belief.
We hear people saying we all have a freedom of religion but these same people arises to kill others who do not share their religious beliefs. Nowhere now is safe for Christians. But that's why we must be ready always.
Believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST so as to obtain your free ticket to heaven. That even whenever death comes knocking, you don't die in vain to be tormented in Hell and later again in the Lake of Fire.
Our LORD JESUS CHRIST may return at any time from now. Don't take this as a joke. Don't take this as mere word of religion. Don't read this and become offended in JESUS CHRIST.
It is one truth many ministers are hiding from you in order to keep you being a Christian but not a Rapture Ready Soul. Live a holy life and keep looking up for the Day of the return of your Redeemer.
Be ready.
Resist the mark of that evil man and his prophet. Reject their RFID Microchip implant. Reject their on•skin•printed•barcode. You have been notified. Save a soul today. It is your duty as a WATCHMAN.
GOD bless us all.
Amen. Amen |

valentineuwakwe: The House of Representatives on Sunday said it would review all loan agreements and conditions signed by the Federal Government. The Vice-Chairman of the House Committee on Aid, Loans and Debt Management , Mr Chris Azubogu , stated this in an interview with one of our correspondents in Abuja , just as the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria supported the investigation by the lawmakers into Chinese loans. The House Committee on Treaties , Protocols and Agreements had on Tuesday last week begun an investigation into the loans taken by the country . The committee raised the alarm over loan agreements Nigeria signed with China . The lawmakers said the agreement might force Nigeria to concede its sovereignty to the Asian country if the loans were not paid back . But the Minister of Transportation , Rotimi Amaechi , who appeared before the committee, asked the lawmakers to stop the investigation into the Chinese loans . He said the probe would send a wrong signal to China , which could stop the loans , thereby thwarting the nation’s rail projects . The Vice- Chairman of the Committee on Aid, Loans and Debt Management , Mr Chris Azubogu , in the interview with The PUNCH, said , “ The House generally is concerned. We are reviewing all the terms and conditions to know what they are like . The House is reviewing all loans and agreements .” Also, a member of the Treaties , Protocols and Agreements , who spoke on condition of anonymity, stated that the lawmakers would not back down on the probe . The lawmaker asked , “ Do you agree that more money (loans ) should be taken when the former ( previous ) ones that had been taken have not been accounted for ? You want transparency and you are taking loans, and we are saying ‘give us transparency. ’ “ If you are taking a loan for a particular project , can the project pay back the loan? We are in a capitalist economy and in that economy , we should be able to know that if we invest the money , the project should be able to pay back the loan invested. That is what informed the loans we are looking at . “ Then , what are the stringent conditions attached to the loans? If we are not able to pay back the loans, what will be the consequences ? These are key legal issues . We are looking at the entire template holistically . If you are taking loans, did you abide by the Nigerian content laws which say that our instruments should be considered first before considering importation?”
Investigations into Chinese loans necessary – LCCI , MAN
Commenting on the call by Amaechi to stop the probe , the Director -General , Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry , Dr Muda Yusuf , in an interview with The PUNCH, stated that seeking clarifications on government finances by the National Assembly was not wrong, adding that the Chinese loans should not be an exemption . He said , “ There is nothing wrong in seeking information or clarifications about government finances, whether it has to do with domestic or foreign loans or any aspect of government business for that matter. “ It is perhaps a misnomer to call it a probe . I feel it is a process to give some insights and education on the loan processes. But there must be a strong reason for embarking on the exercise in the first place .” Yusuf , however , said the members of the National Assembly should present a strong reason for embarking on such an investigation . Minister ’ s opposition shows something about Chinese loan is hidden – MAN On his part, the acting Director -General , Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Ambrose Oruche, wondered how a probe into the terms and conditions of Chinese loans would delay or affect the execution of the railway project . He said , “ Loan approval is being done by the National Assembly and I expect that anyone that is going to apply for a loan should be open to them ; to show them every information they need. I don ’ t know why the minister is saying that the Chinese government will not give us a loan again. That shows that there may be something hidden that one cannot say or see .”

SibaKeAkwaibom: In what may be considered a surprised, another aircraft belonging to Ibom Air arrives Murtala Mohammed international airport, Lagos few minutes ago.
The aircraft which arrived Lagos from Calgary, Canada with the registration number 5N-BXO is a Bombardier CRJ900, and 5th in the Ibom Air's fleet.
It could be recalled that barely two months ago during the total lockdown due to the corona virus pandemic, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel had announced the arrival of the 4th aircraft, stating that another one would arrive within two to three months.
With the arrival of the expected 5th aircraft of Ibom Air, it is expected that more routes will be covered by this first State own airline.
According to the Management of the Airline, the key benefit of Ibom Air’s very modern fleet of Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft is that they all come fitted with High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters. HEPA filters are high-intensity filters that do not just filter dust, but effectively capture greater than 99% of the airborne microbes in the filtered air, including microscopic particles such as bacteria and viruses. Cabin air in HEPA equipped aircraft generally pass through the filters 20-30 times per hour, removing contaminants and greatly enhancing the quality of air in the cabin More grace to end well your Excellency sir. |

BenitaEbose: Former Governor of Edo State and immediate-past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, arrived Benin City, Edo State Capital, to a heroic welcome on Thursday as thousands of party supporters and other residents lined streets and thronged other spaces to cheer his arrival.
Adams Oshiomhole, who returned from Abuja days ago, is in Benin to join in the preparations of the All Progressives Congress for the Sept. 19 Governorship election in the State.
His entry was greeted by loud cheers from market women, transporters, and other visibly excited supporters who left their business posts, causing a halt in economic activities in the City for several hours.
Addressing the unexpected mammoth crowd that gathered, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole said he was overwhelmed by the natural display of love and assured the people that his party, the All Progressives Congress, will secure victory at the polls with a wide margin.
He said his outstanding performance as Governor and National Chairman, and the personal attributes of the party’s candidates, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has made the APC the natural choice of all, a fact which he claims would manifest in the party’s landslide win on Sept. 19.
Oshiomhole criticized the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki for “fraudulently seeking” another term in office without a clear cut agenda or articulated plan, unlike the APC’s candidate, Pastor Ize-Iyamu, who he says has painstakingly organized his mission and vision on how to rescue Edo State in his manifesto dubbed the SIMPLE agenda.
He promised to remain permanently in the Capital city until the conclusion of the election to drive the party’s campaign and enlighten the electorate on the grand deception by the Obaseki-led administration which, according to him, thrived only on Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) but offered nothing in terms of real human and capital development. Which victory sir? Victory for G.G.O I guess. |
Nairaland General › Re: Fulfilling The Mission We Were Made For. by Xscape1993(m): 6:13pm On Jul 24, 2020 |
TheNewVine: As Christians, Jesus Christ gave us a specific assignment according to John 17:18;”As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world”. This is to say that our mission as christians is to share the gospel throughout all nations. Apostle Paul also made clear about the importance of this mission in Acts 20:24;
“But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself so that I might finish my course with Joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus,to testify the gospel of the grace of God”.
As disciples of Jesus we are meant to prioritise this mission before any other thing just as Apostle Paul did. In essence, our entire existence is to testify the gospel of God around the world, so therefore every aspect of our lives should be used as a medium to share the gospel because that’s our ultimate assignment in this world.
