Romance / Re: Would You Date/marry This Person? by xtenxive(m): 2:02am On May 23, 2012
When its exposed and in excess, then I have a BIG problem with it. Can't imagine taking my girl to a gahtering where my colleagues at the office and clients will be present and she now has exposed tatts, it will just send the wrong signals. If I can't take her to certain places coz of the tatts then I have a BIG problem with it.
Properties / Re: Is This Practical In Nigeria....comments Please. by xtenxive(m): 2:25pm On May 20, 2012
Erecting this type of building does not start and end with these facades that you have posted, achieving it involves a lot of other factors ranging from the form and functionality of the plan, the construction materials and methods, an analysis of the elements in the design, comparative cost advantage of some elements used, maintenance cost of the building (which most people overlook at this stage) etc. In answering your question, you can achieve even more complex designs if you have the cash, maybe you should take a trip around Nigeria.

Romance / Re: How Do I Make D Right Choice? So So Confuse by xtenxive(m): 1:37pm On Apr 21, 2012
@ OP, As a lady that is getting more matured by the day, You should be able to discern the intentions of this Guys and if they actually suit your person. On the other hand know which of them really fits into your vision in life.
They must have been your friends for sometime before coming up with this proposal, I'm thinking you've enjoying your friendship with them and haven't been thinking on the long run all this while. That's why 6 of them are proposing and you're confused.
Start thinking long term, remove sentiments, take your time. Its not even compulsory that you settle with any of them but make sure you analyse them objectively though this is usually difficult for most ladies. Best of luck!
Politics / Re: Almajiri Project An Exercise In Futility – Shehu Sani by xtenxive(m): 2:55pm On Apr 12, 2012
Its is completely regrettable that Mr. President, wit all d "technocrats" he has around him, proper assessments, analysis and recommendations are far from him.
What is the function and goal of the present public primary and secondary shools (which are already coiiapsing)
What will happen to these students when they're through with school, are they coming to earn their living from this failed economy.
Why must they go and start building new schools when they could convert the already collapsing existing ones.
This Project is just another means of increasing Govt. expenditure due to incompetence on the part of policy makers in this country.
in simple terms, a suitabble economic environment will directly and indirectly solve a lot of problems in this country and that is where a bulk of our resources should be channeled towards "CREATING AN ENABLING ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT"
After now they'll say Okonjo is the best candidate for world bank job and our economy is flunctuatin, since Jonathan's administratn started with their "economic team", I've nt perceived any policy, strategy etc dat is reflecting a positive move for this economy, all that is happening is the awarding of more contracts with no direct impact and 2015 is here soon
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Site Engineers Are Urgently Wanted by xtenxive(m): 3:41pm On Apr 07, 2012

Business / Re: Businesses You Regretted Doing & The Ones You're Glad You Tried by xtenxive(m): 4:20pm On Apr 02, 2012
I'm an Architect and I have a flare for it. Particularly the opportunity of creatively achieving a clients dream in reality, my joy actually lies in the delivery of projects to client's satisfaction.
The challenges I have outside Professional competence (which I have) are:
Getting the Clients to that are ready to embark on Projects.
The High income earners and corporate bodies that have the ability to pay for a rewarding project will almost not even look at you as an up coming Professional except if you have very strong link within the organisation. It is just unfortunate for them that even after giving the job to the Big Players who we (the younger Professionals) work for and pay them huge contract sums & Professional fees, everything ends up on our table and we end up executing the job from design conception to Project delivery only for the Older Professionals to appear at meetings and ensure the cheques are paid on time.
The big corporations just like the to be associated with Big names in the construction industry.
On the other hand, Individuals who want to embark on such projects also will always want shortcuts which eventually ends up making them pay more particularly for People that are detailed. They will buy land for millions, pay huge sums to the Govt. For approval and bribe for Govt. Officials, pay "omo onile(who are not skilled in anyway)",millions for materials, labour and at the end of the day wants to pay the Architect who will bring this imagination to life peanuts.
The truth is just that you can never get the best out of a man that feels cheated. But it sure is a very rewarding business IF you get to secure the job and IMPRESS you client(s).

Politics / Re: If There's No Partiality, You Won't Be Governor Yourself" - Tinubu To Fashola by xtenxive(m): 4:29pm On Mar 29, 2012
In terms of Political might in the southwest, no doubt that this Tinubu guy has got it and I highly respect him for this but if he comes out publicly to make such statements (which is embarassing to Fashola as an individual and also to ACN as a democratic party), then it means this Party that ha has laboured for will not go far. They'll end up like the rest and the signals are already everywhere. This Tinubu man lacks character, he just has the Political sense. May be he was high as usual when he said it.

So we've been giving the others a chance and these mistakes is now so expensive for us to correct! so don't just support, analyze these people before giving them your support.
Politics / Re: Ben Murray-Bruce Is The Most Articulate And Visionary Governorship Aspirant by xtenxive(m): 6:47pm On Nov 12, 2011
We are trying to put an end to allowing the wrong people get this kind of positions in Nigeria, like I said earlier there seems to be no better candidate but don't paint Ben like the messiah that will turn the streets of Bayelsa to gold, as a public officer he is not an achiever but for himself "yes successful" (culd be self centred u knw). so ORIKINLA SAYS "SUPPORT BEN BRUCE".
Politics / Re: Ben Murray-Bruce Is The Most Articulate And Visionary Governorship Aspirant by xtenxive(m): 6:23pm On Nov 12, 2011
These are all juicy talks made by Politicians during campaigns, There is nothing here that has never been done in Nigeria but SINCERITY OF PURPOSE has made them all fail in the past. If these are the reasons u think he's the right candidate, then go and have a re-think. these statements are not out of the box, they're not from a deep thought process. . . . . . . . . . Pls let Nigeria go beyond these kind of shallow thinking POLITRICKS.
Politics / Re: Ben Murray-Bruce Is The Most Articulate And Visionary Governorship Aspirant by xtenxive(m): 5:25pm On Nov 12, 2011
This is not about preference for one candidate or the other, its about reviewing the antecedents of Ben Bruce as against the challenges of the office of the Governor of Bayelsa state.
Politics / Re: Ben Murray-Bruce Is The Most Articulate And Visionary Governorship Aspirant by xtenxive(m): 12:37pm On Nov 12, 2011
The ultimate decision rests on him leading the team, if Commissioners, Ministers etc have had their way dat easy, Naija for beta. We've had some of our best brains act in this capacities at different times so think of somethin else.
Politics / Re: Ben Murray-Bruce Is The Most Articulate And Visionary Governorship Aspirant by xtenxive(m): 12:30pm On Nov 12, 2011
Managing a company (which is just 1 in Ben Bruce's case i.e Silverbird group) is different from managing a state's resources because its a bigger task covering a wide range of issues when making every decision. His company is a one man affair and if anybody doesn't like his policies, u'll jst excuse urself. Mind u the ultimate goal of his business is to make Profit and that really is what he has been successful at.
I like the man, even had to work on a project with him but I'm just trying to make a point clear.
Politics / Re: Ben Murray-Bruce Is The Most Articulate And Visionary Governorship Aspirant by xtenxive(m): 12:12pm On Nov 12, 2011
Many ND people have no native names (a shame really), but it deducts nothing from the man. He is a great candidate, but I fear he lacks the machinery.

@ You really don't know the reason behind the names of people from the niger delta, those names date back to in history during the slave trade and off course we all have family names which is retained thru generations but it does not mean that we do/cannot have first names that are indigenous.

@ poster Ben Bruce is a successful entrepreneur but I can't vouch for his competence in managing the resources of a state like Bayelsa with so much issues needing urgent attention (though might be an extension of the issues affecting the Nigerian state), but on the contrary there's no better candidate which is the bane on the Nigerian Leadership crisis. MOST COMPETENT PEOPLE DON'T CONTEST ELECTIONS (though for diverse personal reasons).
