When next you want to wash your hair, do a black tea rinse, or coffee rinse. Black tea is more popular. Before you wash your hair, boil water and get a bowl, pour the water in it, then put some bags of lipton tea in the hot water and leave to cool.
-Go wash your hair, rinse and condition it, rinse of the conditioner after some minutes.
-Get your bowl of black tea and pour on your hair, distribute evenly, especially around your scalp and massage well.
-Squeeze out the excess and wear your shower cap or a plastic bag and wrap your towel around it, let it stay for 20-30 minutes or longer.
-Before rinsing apply deep conditioner on the rinse, massage for some minutes and wash off.
The purpose of this is to combat shedding, as the caffeine in coffee and tea blocks the hormones that causes shedding, this works instantly.

You should apply castor oil on your scalp and edges and please take a break from braids and weaves, trust me black hair wants to be left alone and relax once or twice a year. Get a good trim, you dont have to cut ur whole hair. Ever wonder why black people on dreadlocks have mighty long and thick hair, they dont do anything to their hair that creates tension in their scalp, the hair just grows and grows and grows to crazy inches.
I am starting a new hair journey and i have done researches on what to make my hair a success. I am a little over 18'' long, i am relaxed but my ends are dry with lots of splits, and i have shed a lot of hair, so my hair is now scanty. I am looking to transition gradually by snipping off my hair every now and then, till i grow out my relaxer, i camt imagin cutting all of my hair, i cant.

maryini: Ladies, what do I do to thining crown hair to make it grow, I am in my very early twenties and should not be suffering from baldness now.

This problem started when I used an organic root stimulator relaxer that came with a dye shampoo, before i could say Jack Robinson all d hair in the middle of my head fell off, I gathered up courage and shaved all of it off to start growing from scratch. Its now getting to a year and the hair at the middle is still not growing! Please help! *Sobs*
Try scrubbing that part with a scrub, at times your hair follicles could be clogged up. And do massage to increase blood circulation to that area, apply castor oil and massage each time you apply it. Try the GHE method. I am sure it would have been discussed on this thread.

FashionRe: Big Chop..... by XtremeBase(f): 1:21pm On Jul 05, 2012
I am not natural, i am relaxed, my hair was 16'' as at last month, but its not full. So intend to do a big chop and give myself 2 years to grow it out.
-Do you shampoo often, if you do. It could be killing your hair. You should co wash and shampoo just once in a while.
-Do you get a trim*cant believe i am giving this advice, like i have gotten on recently* You should, but just snip little of the split ends.
-Do you do protective styling, i.e braiding you hair, fixing weaves etc. If you don't you need to, dont let pple fool you into saying you dont, ur hair should be natural and all. Our hair need protective styling, its their way of resting and growing.
-Do you clog your hair with oil and pomade all the time, you should, forget all those miracle creams, they dont make hair grow, * i cant believe i am giving this advice, seeing i dont even moisturise my scalp* if you want to moisturise, use shea butter, ori. Heard castor oil is amazing, cold pressed.
-Do you straighten your hair all the time? If you do, reduce it to once or twice a week, kills your hair.
-Deep condition by putting conditioner on your hair, put on a shower cap, enter a dryer or sleep with ur shower cap overnight.
-On your hair, i believe you should use leave in conditioner instead of creams or oils, those should be reserved for your scalp.
- Pls always sleep with a scarf. If i remember anymore wld post and yeah vitamins, so i heard.

I wish i follow any of these rules but i dont. When i get the strength for the big chop, this wld be my regimen. I have long hair but its limp, the result of years of not taking care of it.
Pls hair does grow, you just need to know how to pamper black hair, it has the same growth rate as white pple, just a little less than asians. I am looking at 22'' of hair in 2- 3 years. Yes its possible.

chipmunkey: Do you mean an African woman"s hair can never look like this or better?

If these are weaves, then it's a very well done hair so i guess more of the fault lies in the hands of Nigerian stylists.
A little in the stylist's hands and more in the wearer's. Curly hair is very beautiful but needs serious maintainance unlike straight hair, i have to co-wash every few days, wet, moisturise with a leave in, comb it everyday to get the curls defined, and blend everyday. I get tired of it at times, but when i think of the va- va voom attention i get, i think it worth it. wink

Seun: You could have sent the moderator a PM to find out what's going on. Even now, you have not pointed to the posts in question.
Oh i did send your moderator a message on a thread he opened, and here is the message i sent to him:

Sexkills, hello, i got ur message in the topic i created that has been locked. I wasnt aware that it had been on the front page, if not i wouldn't have posted it at all.

But then again, i do wonder why you have been blocking everyone of my posts. I believe that's unfair. Please i would appreciate if you could look into the situation.

Thanks.

Then his response:
You are spamming the forum with those links. We are anti-spammers. Post more
of them and you unfortunately may be
banned.

Then mine:
You really do not have to be rude, i believe i
spoke with you in a matured manner. This is
what you ought to have told me right from the start, it's your responsibility to tell me that. I was never even aware my posts were spamming the forum. Please do not threaten me about a ban. You must really think i care. If nairaland is the be all for you that's your issue and not mine. You may click on my name and ban me now. Please waste no further time.

I replied him and asked that he bans me.

His response:He had one before this, i cant remember because he locked the thread, but i remember this:
You talk too much, you can ban yourself if you want to by logging out.

Anyways you said i should point to posts. How do i point to posts that have been deleted or hidden by the mod.

Anyways my point in all of this is you should let your moderator(s) know when they are getting out of line. Whether you choose to admit it, nairaland is your business and those visiting make it what it is. I would not appreciate someone with an uncouth behaviour all because i come up here to make posts and create topics. Being a member of NL since 2006/2007, should count for something. We know mods are needed on a forum like this, but it gives them no right to be rude to members in the act of carrying out their duties.
