Missy89:Here's the simple fact of the situation. The assets in the United States are only six which by estimate wouldn't exceed the $150 million mark at approximately $25 million each, give or take. Both of them don't have an offshore account in the states in a bid to avoid IRS and the scrutiny of the CIA, which would be their undoing. Its a simple case of diplomatic lobbying to get them extradited to Nigeria or get the feds to get them on money laundry charges and poof, they are sent to Nigeria. Assets owned by them can't be leased or sold neither can it be used as collateral for loans, they can only access funds in investment funds (if they have one). Even if the assets in the states are tied up in the courts which I doubt, it only accounts for approximately 11.1% of the total funds, so not a bug deal if the bulk of the money in Europe can be accessed. |
Henry240:@Henry240 Have you seen oga Beeg's tweets of late about some procurements coming in? He mentioned the fact that the rotary/fixed winged assets were purchased/inspected in January. Link that to this post on the blog https://beegeagle./2016/01/08/infographics-of-the-su-34-fullback-strike-fighter/ and the comment by Beegs himself of rumblings about a possible SU34 haul. This might be the replacement for the $466 million frogfoot deal and at $36 million we could be getting 12 of these. Just speculating though. |
rozayx5:It's quite disheartening to note that in the age of accessible information, the basic skill of comprehension is proving elusive to some. I said: "they can not even be compared to the Boko Haram guys, who had a large expanse of land to their advantage. The Niger delta itself is not that big" Boko haram like I said earlier, has access to 60,000 square kilometres or 23,000 square miles of Sambisa forest, which straddles four states in the North east, Yobe, Borno, Gombe and Bauchi. Plus cross-border access to Cameroon, Chad and Niger. Maybe you are trying to say that the ND is bigger than Sambisa plus parts of four countries. Kindly enlighten me on how you would escape a foe with aerial power when you are surrounded by waters and fast crafts. erico2k2:Nigeria infact has more than that on our ISR platforms, as far back as 2014 plus the arrival of CH4 drones late 2014 with precision munitions. |
rozayx5:You are very funny. The US Vietnam war was fought by a foreign millitary against the Vietnam military, which at that time was a cold-war proxy war. Hence the support of the North Vietnamese military by the Soviets, Chinese, Cubans, North Korean and others. Not the same scenario with the Niger-Delta Avengers who are practically facing a military with their d1cks on their hands, they can not even be compared to the Boko Haram guys, who had a large expanse of land to their advantage. The Niger delta itself is not that big, and unlike in the dessert where you can dig tunnels to hide from the military drones, you can't do same in the creeks because of the makeup of the soil. They can't hide, the heat signature is more pronounced near water with thermal vision enabled kits. |

lexykeyz: stillchris:Was about to post the same thing. The position of his side arm shows he uses his right hand comfortably since this is not just a PR image taken by a model, he is an actual Spec Ops personnel. And if he's not a model then the most plausible explanation is that he uses both hands, you can only prove otherwise if you know him personally. From the picture, there is action on the background in the form of burning houses, which indicates he's in the theatre. Which rules out the possibility of a staged outlook for the cameras. The location of his hand grenade shows that he's predominantly left-handed. The extra mag is on the right side which makes it easier to pick with his left hand; the side arm is the only thing showing that he also uses his right hand, and you only use the side arm as a secondary option. Edited: His webbings look shifted to the right side more than the left, which might point to him to have performed a short halt (when soldiers drop to one knee and face outwards). |
lexykeyz:what if he's trained to use both hands, should the need arise? |
Jarus:Better than the other guy. We don't need to focus on defense at this stage of the game, it's of no use. What we need is maximum attack, it is now or never. |
cashful:You want them to bring in Red-card-zi bah? |
SmooshCHN:True that, KD despite his frame is wobbly in defence, unable to turn his hips when driven past. Westbrook's intermittent turnovers not helping matters. Although Steph is missing some threes lately unlike him, maybe defenses are figuring out how to play him or he's finally showing signs that he's human. I don't see OKC defeating GSW anytime soon without KD and Westbrook upping their games. Anyone knows when Iguodala gets back? |
Mizzzbeee:Cut him some slacks nah...not every one would be like Serge ibaka...btw seems you have some scores to settle with the niqqa...or crush I guess...pray tell |
Mizzzbeee:I can smell the arrogance of the dub nation ...smh for you....lol But he's trying tho, wish he was with the Durant / westbrook...then they (OKC) would compete with the splash bros better ![]() |
Donlittle:The only team capable of matching the GSW is the OKC on their good day. But something seems wrong with the way they've been playing recently. Lets see how they play the Rockets tonight, #fear the Beard# But you gotta love the splash brothers any day anytime, you think you've marked Steph and the others pop out from nowhere. ##smiles |
TheSuperNerd:Whats your take on the combination Nacho, Iwobi and the new kid Nathan Oduwa, new invitee for the U23 for the friendly against Brasil. He plays for Tottenham but on loan to Colchester I think. check https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOI310nwE7o |

Sometimes you make a decision, and it ends up turning out great. Other times, you might look back and say, "oh, that wasn't the best outcome, but still, not too shabby." Then there are the decisions where it becomes clear very quickly that you made the wrong choice. For Spencer Haywood, that choice cost him a LOT of money. $8.6 billion, to be exact. The former ABA and NBA star was thought to be a valuable player coming out of college, and understandably so: he had averaged 32.1 points and an NCAA-leading 21.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore at the University of Detroit, his final year in college. Thanks to NBA rules, Haywood was not allowed to enter the league as a sophomore, so he joined the Denver Rockets of the ABA. In one season with the Rockets, he averaged 30 points and 19.5 rebounds per game. After that season, he was signed by the Seattle Supersonics, and since he was still ineligible, he was part of an anti-trust suit with the NBA, eventually winning and being able to play in the league. It was around this time that Haywood was approached by Nike, then an upstart shoe company. They had an offer for him: $100,000 or a 10% stake in the company to promote their shoes. In an ultimate example of an agent royally screwing a player, Haywood's agent strongly urged Haywood to take the money now, rather than investing in the young company. Nike had formed as Blue Ribbon Sports back in 1964, and only became Nike in 1971, so it's understandable why Haywood took the money instead of company shares. However, that move backfired completely. Haywood went on to have a fairly successful career, winning a title with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1980. Towards the end of his playing days, he became addicted to cocaine, and was actually dismissed from the Lakers for falling asleep during a practice because of his addiction. Nike, meanwhile, continued to grow and thrive as a company, endorsing more players throughout the sports world, branching out into athletic apparel, and generally being very successful. Naturally, that led to an increase in their value. Today, they're worth $86.2 billion. 10 percent of that, or what would have been Haywood's share, is $8.6 billion. It's not all bad for Haywood, though. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame this past September, and says the best decision he ever made was getting sober 29 years ago. Still, it's gotta be hard not to think of what could have been. https://www.celebritynetworth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/GettyImages-468736830.jpg |
https://nigerianpilot.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/arms-deal.jpg Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC are said to have turned down request by counsels to two former service chiefs that they are willing to refund part of the alleged looted funds to the coffers of the Federal Government in exchange for their freedom. A highly placed source at the EFCC, during the weekend told Nigerian Pilot that two different lawyers (names withheld) had last week written to the acting chairman of the commission, ACP Ibrahim Magu pledging to refund 60 percent of the alleged looted funds but the chairman reportedly turned down the request. According to the source, ACP Magu insisted that they must appear before the operatives of the commission and clear their names over alleged involvement in the arms deals scandal. The source further added that the visibly angry Magu insisted that due process and rule of law must be followed in the investigations of the service chiefs and that plea bargain is not known to the Nigerian law and constitution. There were indications last Monday that the EFCC was collaborating with the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit on the monitoring of bank accounts of military officers invited by the commission. He said the EFCC’s Special Task Force on the arms scandal probe had sent a list of individuals and companies whose accounts were being monitored. The EFCC source said the commission would seek to freeze the accounts of any officer or companies that were found to be holding huge amounts of money as such a person would be required to provide explanation on such funds in the accounts. The source added, “The commission will definitely look into the financial operations of those indicted military personnel. “It might not be automatic to move against their accounts. Such a decision would be determined by the outcome of the investigation.” The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, was not available on phone to give his explanation on the matter when our correspondent tried reaching him on his two lines. He said the Presidency just released the names of the affected military personnel for investigation and would not make any comment on the issue. “I don’t have any comment on this issue. You know that the Presidency just released the names please,” he said. There have been fears among military officers since Friday when the report of the Presidential Panel on Arms Procurement was released. A top security source said there were mounting concerns about the career of the serving officers who were included in the list. The source stated, “There is tension all over the place. The thing came as a shock to many of the top people whose names were published by the Presidency on Friday. President Muhammadu Buhari had recently ordered the EFCC to probe 17 serving and retired military officers, including the past Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh (retd.); a former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Dikko Umar (retd.); and the immediate-past Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu, (retd.), on alleged fraudulent arms purchases between 2007 and 2015. Others are Maj. Gen. E. R. Chioba (retd.); AVM I. A. Balogun (retd.); AVM A. G. Tsakr (retd.); and AVM A. G. Idowu (retd.). The 11 serving officers, who are to be investigated by the EFCC, include Air Marshal A. M. Mamu (Chief of Administration, NAF); AVM Oguntoyinbo (former Director of Production, Defence Headquarters); AVM T. Omenyi (Managing Director, NAF Holdings); AVM J. B. Adigun (former Chief of Accounts and Budget); AVM R. A.Ojuawo (Air Force Tactical Air Command, Markudi); AVM J. A. Kayode-Beckley (Director, Armament Research in Air Force Research and Development Centre); Air Cdre A. O. Ogunjobi; Air Cdr G. M. D. Gwani; Air Cdr A.Y. Lassa and Col. N. Ashinze (Special Assistant to the former NSA, Dasuki), and Air Cdr. S. O. Makinde. The President’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, had in a recent briefing on the scandal said 21 companies and their directors would be investigated by the EFCC. The presidential spokesman said the breaches identified by the audit committee included non-specification of procurement costs, absence of contract agreements, award of contracts beyond authorised thresholds, transfer of public funds for unidentified purposes and general non-adherence to provisions of the Public Procurement Act. Good decision. It was almost like a deliberate attempt at forcing everyone to accept their ideology. With multiple threads in the politics section every single day. |
A Turkish convoy, which according to some reports was transporting weapons to terrorist organizations, has been hit by apparent airstrikes in northwestern Syria. Footage released online by the Istanbul-based Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) shows plumes of smoke from the burning trucks and people running about in panic. At least 20 trucks were engulfed in flames. The mission, however, wasn’t sponsored or organized by the IHH, the group said. No organization has as yet confirmed that the convoy belonged to them. Henry240:Russia now plans to implement new measures aimed at strengthening the security of the country’s air base in Syria and in particular to bolster air defense. Russian guided missile cruiser Moskva, equipped with the ‘Fort’ air defense system, similar to the S-300, will be deployed off Latakia province's coast. "We warn that every target posing a potential threat will be destroyed,” lieutenant general Sergey Rudskoy said during the briefing. The Moskva (‘Moscow’) missile cruise is a flagship vessel of the Russian Black Sea fleet and is one of the fleet’s two biggest ships. The cruiser was stationed in Sevastopol but left in summer 2015 after being deployed to the Mediterranean Sea where it joined Russia’s standing naval force in the Mediterranean. Source: rt.com |

eckersley:Lalasticlala, Seun please correct this wrong headline |
PointB:He just gave the update in his Twitter feed, stating there's nothing covert to hide, while also indicting the US for the role they are playing in all of this. He usually would have stated that the details of the ops is classified or refuse to comment if he was not authorised to speak. But in this case, he was fast to dispute the rumours on multiple platforms he trusts, immediately he got an information on it. |
themilanway:It's a shame that the false information was pushed to the front page, while the correction isn't. I think Lalasticlala and Seun should look into this |

Rotimi Amaechi has been approved as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria after being screened by the Nigerian Senate. The former Rivers governor and director general of the 2015 All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign organisation, was approved after a series of questions had been asked by senators. There was mild drama at the beginning of the session as the minority leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus had no questions for the nominee, and this was immediately corroborated by the Senate leader, Ali Ndume, who asked Amaechi to take a bow and go. But other senators disagreed with him, stating that they would ask him questions irrespective of what the PDP caucus had stated. The Senate president, Bukola Saraki, ruled that the nominee be given the same preferential treatment given to other former legislators, but the senators insisted on asking questions. The former governor was, however, approved after a series of questions had been asked by the senators, some of whom were his counterparts when he served as the head of Rivers state.
