I will not be diplomatic and wish them the best, I don't wish them the best. I wish they would leave our names out their mouth and stop using us to chase dead clout with the English press.
I wish Nairaland will stop posting them on Front Page, and I sincerely wish they bottle their international careers, since they couldn't get it without riding on the Nigerian Clout Train. Very correct, they should stop gloating about their rejection of Nigeria, and I wish Seun can do something about this constant pushing of news about them to the front page. |

tigerclaws: congratulations you've been successfully brainwashed by a mere sales girl IMASTEX: Here is what I was told today at a phone vendor's place. As I inquired of a particular Nokia make, that hasn't been lunched in Nigeria. Nokia X71 (8.1 plus). "It was obvious the phone can only be ordered online from overseas" I told the vendor. Then she repied as follows:
Phone brands "Nokia" ordered from overseas via Jumia is without warranty. Secondly, It is not a Nigeria specification. Hence, There might be a challenge if there are need for repair. As the exact parts may not be readily available at the Nigeria Nokia Care Centre. Except the person send it back to the country it was ordered from whenever there is a need for repair. Is the above claims true? I was almost paying for the one she offered as against my desired spec.
1. What are the differences between global version & the chanise version in phones?
2. Does version have anything to do with the phone's quality?
3. I noticed a wide price gap at a Nokia brand outlet today as against the Jumia online price. Though, that of Jumia is an order from overseas. Does this have anything to do with quantity?
Please how true are the above submissions. I've been doing a little research on what brand & make of phone to purchase within a budget of 100k to 150k. Though, I was kind of considering Nokia & Huawei phones.
Mods you can help to escalate it. Really need to get clarifications. The sales girl is right though. I once took a US purchased iPhone to the apple store in the UK for battery repairs and was told by apple that they’ll need to wait for parts form the US before they can fix it. |

YorubaWarrior: Of course, there'll be a rematch. The first match was a win-win for Joshua. I'd have done the same... being paid to intentionally lose a match for the sole purpose of a rematch to generate more revenue. They need the hype and noise else, Professional Heavy-weight boxing will be dead like it did after the Tyson-Douglas-Holyfield era. Boxing doesn't work like that, you don't throw a fight to lose your belt and gamble on the probability of not getting all three belts back. for example, the IBF have a very strict rule with regards to their belt and accepting a rematch, Ruiz might have to fight a contender or get stripped of the belt between now and November. Plus most boxers like to brag about their undefeated record and would be uncharacteristic for them to throw a fight. |

BanevsJoker: Liar. He was banned from arms dealing in 2013. Don't try to be clever by half. Read below. Don't just comment. Think before you post In furtherance of this arms deal, it is alleged that in June 2014, Dolarian executed sales contracts with Societe D’Equipments Internationaux (SEI), a French arms brokering company acting on behalf of Nigeria, for the purchase and transfer of high‑explosive bombs, rockets, military-grade firearms, and aircraft-mounted cannons worth more than $8.5 million. Dolarian submitted a brokering application with the U.S. State Department in June 2014 for the proposed deal with Nigeria. This brokering application, along with a later one, was never approved by the State Department. Without approval from the State Department, Dolarian allegedly accepted approximately $8.3 million from Nigeria and its broker, SEI. These funds were, in part, funneled by Nigeria through a purported furniture company in Hong Kong. Then they were routed through numerous shell accounts held by Dolarian, and others. Soon after obtaining the funds, Dolarian used them to pay off personal expenses, such as federal and state tax debts, and to buy a BMW SUV. In February 2015, the federal government seized over $6 million that remained in Dolarian’s accounts. Civil forfeiture proceedings related to that seizure are currently pending (Case No. 1:15-cv-954-DAD). “Homeland Security Investigations’ (HSI) national security priorities include the investigation of violations of the arms export and money laundering control laws of the United States,” said Ryan L. Spradlin, HSI Special Agent in Charge. “Illegal arms brokering represents a threat, not only to U.S. national security, but to the security of the international community.” This case is the product of an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations. This matter is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Grant B. Rabenn and Jeffrey Spivak, and Department of Justice Trial Attorney Christian Ford of the National Security Division’s Counterintelligence and Expert Control Section. |

Why do you u think road traffic officers would not run after you when you beat a speed limit? - it's because the transaction would go by your bank as your number plate is attached to your account, so also the renewal of ur drivers license same applies, now to business license, and let me stress this point it is a license, so it's renewed on a yearly basis or as deemed right by their laws- which means his license could have been renewed in 2014, 2015 etc but because there was a ban for those 2 specific years 2012/13 and he transacted a deal , he committed an offense and that was what he is been charged for - if you notice all the arms nigeria has been using to prosecute this war has all come from Ukraine or Russia since this administration came to office Happened in 2014 bro, he was just arrested this year Source: https://www.justice.gov/usao-edca/pr/former-fresno-resident-charged-illegally-brokering-sale-military-arms-foreign |

Jonathan was dealing with Israeli company during arm purchase Dolarian is accused of trying to broker an illegal arms deal in 2013 and 2014 with the Nigerian government. Court documents show Dolarian, through his company Dolarian Capital Inc., was trying to sell high‑explosive bombs, rockets, military-grade firearms and aircraft-mounted cannons from Eastern Europe and South Africa to Nigerian officials. The problem with the $8.4 million deal, prosecutors allege, is that Dolarian’s company did not have permission from the State Department to do so. Despite a lack of authorization, Dolarian is accused of pursuing the transaction, working with Societe D’Equipments Internationaux (SEI), a French arms brokering company acting on behalf of Nigeria, for the purchase of the weapons and explosives. Finally, yes if you called black militants from the era "terrorists" you would be offensive. Equally if you called them "freedom fighters" you would be biased. Hence, they are militants.

frumentius: The South African military has undergone various restructuring ever since we ceased being a colony through self-governance autonomy from Britain way back in 1910, with the formation of the Union of South Africa Act, later confirmed as independence through the Balfour Declaration of 1926 and the Statute of Westminster in 1931. 1910 conferred upon us the same status as Canada, Australia and New Zealand. We, ourselves, changed this in 1961 by proclaiming ourselves a Republic, with the Queen of England no longer being our head of state. Cananda, Aus and NZ could also do the same, with no argument as to when they ceased being colonies.
The point to all that history is that all those milestones brought about extensive restructure and name changes to our military. If anything, the changes in 94 were mild compared to prior changes. Let me get this straight, was there apartheid prior to 1994? If yes, then its part of your history, no matter how uncool it is. The Russian military is sometimes called the Soviets when referring to that period. You have no idea what his intentions are for his choice of words. It's his choice whatever name he feels comfortable with, so long as the said name is a widely accepted name, and not made up for the sake of this argument. You don't like it because it is a dark part of your history; the so-called apartheid army, to some purists, is still the best set of personnel ever produced from South Africa, with exploits to show for it. The fact that you don't like it doesn't change the era, nor does it alter the past. |

frumentius: A question for the Nigerians here: when the Nigerian military correctly intervened in Liberia and Sierra Leone, Nigeria was under Abacha's military dictatorship. It would be wrong for anybody to caption the attached pic as, for example, "Nigerian dictatorship/totalitarian/anti-democracy soldiers in Liberia". For the simple fact that soldiers serve the government of the day, regardless of ideology.
So, why is it that only 1 Nigerian has called out Henry for his insulting reference to South African soldiers - serving the government of the day - as Apartheid soldiers? As someone currently in uniform, I and others strive to serve our country to the best of our abilities, and we take strong exception when unreconstructed racists on the Right refer to us dismissively as "ANC soldiers". I personally know people who were killed by South African soldiers in Angola, Mozambique, Botswana and inside SA itself. Equally, I take strong exception when people on my side of the SA conflict refer to the pre-94 soldiers as "Apartheid soldiers".
Henry's gratuitous insult to these men in uniform -completely in line with his character, as prior examples here attest - logically lead to that smear on Nigerian soldiers during various dictatorships in Nigeria.
I, for one, refuse to suffer that offence. Do you? The difference is that there was never a time the Nigerian military had to restructure itself, not comparable. The military as it exists today was created in 1994, following South Africa's first post-apartheid national elections and the adoption of a new constitution. It replaced the South African Defence Force and also integrated uMkhonto we Sizwe guerilla forces. If for example, you are referencing the Nigerian army during the pre-independence era, you are right to call them the Royal West African Frontier Force (RWAFF), but anything afterwards can't be separated. |

Senegal took the lead in Gambia because, Senegal completely surrounds Gambia(North, East, West).
Senegal also contributed more troops (6,000 men), Nigeria (1,000 men) and Ghana (250 men).
You should really turn a new leaf, and quit been needlessly mischievous. His rhetorics and use of ad hominem in arguments have a singular aim; poke the bear or throw multiple shots and see what sticks. It's very juvenile and uncalled for. It's similar to me posting pictures of the Angolan military, with a footnote "That's why they kicked butts during the border wars". While from the outside it seems like an honest commentary, it's not my place to judge. I'll put this to you if it is an honest mistake, then you need to apologize and keep it moving; if it is a deliberate attempt at being mischievous, stand by your words like a man with cajones. |

So if it was buhari or osinbanjo daughter that was kidnapped, the government won't pay for her to be released?
Nigerians will always find an excuse for everything, why can't Nigeria be as peaceful as Senegal, Benin republic, Namibia,Botswana etc they will always find a stupid excuse to give about how it's happening in other failed countries like Libya, Yemen etc nonsense
If it was in an European country, the prime minister would have resign,it can't even happen in such countries for terrorist to be operating in their territory.Nigeria is in the league of Somalia and Afghanistan. The moment the victim wasn't rescued within the first 48 hours, I knew the situation has gone beyond anyone's control. Coupled with the fact that no sane Govt will negotiate with the BHT considering how irrational and what would come after the negotiation. A group that cares so much about their PR that they don't leave their dead fighters on the battlefield to control the possible effects, of knowing how many of them were killed by the Nigerian army. You pay them any monies, you open yourself to extortion and the possibility of an increase in attacks from BHT. It's really sad and unfortunate what has happened, but the Govt's hands are tied in this situation. The best solution is to prevent the reoccurrence of things like this. |

Something the Celtics have. LBJ might well end up in Boston. There's the possibility of Kyrie going the other way, which would be ironic and some picks thrown in for good measure, it makes sense as well, since they've remained competitive with Rozier. Looking at what happens with Isaiah Thomas, Celtics don't owe you loyalty nor do they trade with sentiments. Kyrie chose to have an operation on a depressed septum, showing he didn't believe his team would go all the way to the finals. The depressed septum procedure is a minor cosmetic surgery usually done by all these IG models to justify nose augmentation. All I'm saying is that, he could've waited till the end of the playoffs before going in for the procedure. I shudder at the thought of Gordon Hayward, Jaylen Brown, Al horford and Tatum on the same team with LBJ. That's a more balanced setup than the setup at Houston, with two ball dominant Point guards which affect LeBron's play. CP3 is an alpha and wouldn't be a good mix with LBJ calling the shots |
