This is best way to go folks. Let's meet on twitter and together, we shall win this battle against Glo. More importantly, let's Follow one another there. Thank you for windows of idea you just opened here. I am in. My twitter handle is @lugardosa

I'm now following u on twitter bro. Abeg for the meantime cool off on antagonizing glo on twitter. They will not take us seriously until we are a great many of us and organized in our demands.

Nuruddeenmd: i'd rather throw my phone in a lake than buy 250mb for 30 days on an Android . what do these punks take us for? I dont even see any reason why bb users should get more than we get. we ar all nigerians, and there is no doubt that we use better devices. This is DaMn SiCk! angry

It really beats me how a telecoms network will charge other mobile device users a similar amount for internet data subscription as they would a blackberry user and allocate 3G to the blackberry user while other mobile device users get a paltry 260mb! The logic there is so obtuse especially since most our devices are even way better than these blackberries! We didnt cheat glo by using this loophole, they have been cheating us all along by giving us meagre data for same price as blackberry users.

I've been nursing an idea on how to make these cheating telecoms company sit up. I think this is an opportunity to act and this is the right platform to begin to do so. I'm sure if we can rally a sizable opposition they'll give us an ear. We have the social media at our disposal. NCC isn't doing anything for telecoms users, so if we are organised we can do something for ourselves. Call it a UNION but the idea is to form a strong association that can act and get the attention of glo. If we can build a formidable number of active glo network users, I bet you they'll listen to us! Imagine how much glo'll lose if 1-2 million of their customers unianimously decide not to recharge their lines for a week! We must organise ourselves and do this if we want to be taken seriously. Good thing is we need not meet physically, we only have to build our numbers online and when we make a decision and act, we do so in unison. This is of utmost importance if we must rule our world like glo keeps telling us.

My brothers and sisters on this thread, make no mistake about it: this is a fight for our right! I'm reaching out to y'all because this is a fight we do not stand a chance of winning if we engage glo alone. Divided we are irrelevant, together we are a force to be reckoned with! We can do this! We can build a formidable TELECOMS CUSTOMERS' UNION (TCU) and do the job for ourselves that NCC has refused to do for us. We claim to want change, we preach it even...now is the time to act and this is as good a platform as any.

I won't be surprised if my comment is hidden or I may even be blocked by the NL moderators before long. Either way, there's no stopping us if we are in on this plan. I implore everyone who's with me on this plan to engage me for more brainstorming for the implementation of this plan (and the ultimate actualization of our long-lost right to good services) by mail on xzit05 at yahoo dot com or @iamxari on twitter.
It's time to RULE YOUR WORLD! Its time to GLO!!
Good morning folks!

Ejike3: Delta State down yesterday morning. Internet service started showing yesterday night but no connection yet. 1.7GB remaining, 6 days validity left.

Same here in Oyo, network came but wasnt functional. And I only just subscribed...3G untouched!
Phones / Re: Glo Blackberry Plans On Phones And Other Devices by xzit(m): 9:40am On Feb 19, 2013
Imagine!!! And I only just subscribed the day this glitch (I hope that what it is) started!
If they have blocked it then it is really unfair of them...to give BB users access to a 3G data plan while other phone users have just 250MB for the same price!

Please, I am sorry for coming very late. In case you didn't buy again today, you should go for Glo NetPro when next you want to buy. Thank you.

thanks for getting back, however late. Been having a major issue while trying to help a friend configure his sim to use d glo bb plan. He has subscribed but he cant browse still. His sim card was quite old so i adviced him to do a swap. Even at that, he hasnt been able to browse wit it neither on a bb or any other device and they say at d glo office to bring his bb for configuration.
What do u think?

I think the breaking of the connection usually occurs when your subscription is still pending (awaiting activation). In my case, the moment it gets activated, the browsing becomes smooth. (On three glo sims so far).

To avoid botched downloads on pc, install and use flashget software for your downloads. I've downloaded over 1.6 gig of my video tutorials and softwares using flashget. Once the connection breaks and you reconnect (even after 1 year), your download will continue from the place which it stopped.

Hopefully this might help one or two people here. Thanks.

thanks but actually my botched downloads were mostly online software installations on my laptop. That cant be downloaded with these download managers really. i usually use FDM,IDM ot expressfiles for my large downloads on pc. I wonder if i can get a download manager for my galaxy tab though...

Thank you very much. I think the botched downloads were as a result of cutting (breaking) off of your internet connections. I hope it will improve in your location to enable you surf better without wasting your data volume unnecessarily.

yea, i do hope it improves cos since early hours of yday i've been on edge and d speed is not-so-cool around here.

You have been pulling data thinking it was free not knowing your subscription have been activated 3 days earlier. Anyway, you still have some data left to surf. Take it easy. Thank you.

Yes o! I really thought it was free data i was pulling, and most of it was wasted on botched downloads! Its unfortunate glo didnt send me d activation msg until my msg to 777 finally delivered. But its alright though, once beaten...

But thanks @Luluosas, u doing a wonderful job here!

Sending messages to 777, 127, 1234, 4567, etc on Glo are usually free with 0.00 naira on your account. Please, check whether your centre number have been tampered with. The centre number is +2348050001501. Do check and see whether it is correct.

mehn! i was finally able to send d status msg to 777 and guess what; I GOT SERVED!!! Look at what they told me for all my erstwhile data usage.
i guess the free browsing didnt work for me... undecided

Since you are still browsing with the blackberry.net APN, I think your subscription is active. But, can you send other messages? Try send 'Info' to 127 and see whether it will go as well. Thank you.

Tried that, same issue...'sending failed'. I wonder if msgs can be sent out without credit on the line. Still browsing though...

Ok. Send 'Status' to 777 and post the message you will receive. However, I hope your airtime is still intact.

As before, sending 'status' to 777 is still failing. I just tried it now and the msg refuses to send. Strange, isn't it?
Meanwhile my airtime is still intact (N0.14). I had just N0.16 on it before I recharge with N1200 and subscribed to somonth. Its N0.14 right about now...

You can also send an email to blackberry.techsupport@gloworld.com and tell them about your situation. Thank you.

Send 'Status' to 777 now and your current plan, including your remaining data volume and expiring date will be sent to you by 777. Thank you.

omo i've gotten 2 msgs so far from glo saying 'transaction failed. not enough credit' since i sent in my subscription. meanwhile i've been browsing and doing some light downloading so far. my credit was taken after sending d subscription code so im a bit disturbed as to why they keep sending me that msg.
i also tried sending 'status' to 777 but it aint delivering. what do u think of this?

So send SMS "galaxy" to 131 or "android".... Or even "nokia" with the SIM
Its best to call them though

Well, tried 'nokia', 'galaxy' and 'android' and just when i tot it wld work since i got an instant msg saying my request will be processed i got a msg saying 'You have sent an invalid command. Text HELP to 131. Thank you!'

Anyroad, if it cant be done its no skin off my bones. If what they say of glo bb service is anything to go by then i just got a winner!

Tinyemeka: Wow. I never knew this to be possible. Just hopes it lasts. I'd already been subscribed to Glo comonth BIS. That should be 3GB data for N1400. Transferred the SIM to my Galaxy and changed the APN to blackberry.net The android is browsing normally and my credit is still intact smiley

I just hopes it lasts. Thanks everyone. @ Lulosas especially. You too much. To think I'd bought mtn 1GB for N3500 just last night. No wa.

kudos guys! This is very useful info. However, does anyone know anything about mtn's 750mb bonus for a new sim? l got a galaxy tab last month at slot and was given an mtn sim which they say (and is inscribed on the tab case) that i get 750mb free for 3 month. Without wasting any time i sharply registered the sim and recharged but didnt see or get nada! Anyone ever heard of mtn's 750mb free data for 3 month, do tell...i'd appreciate the info. thanks

atbu1983: What a great passionate and sincere christian and Nigerian Tunde Bakare is! This kind of sincere men are rare! But unfortunatele for him, Nigeria is a country where almost everybody loves lies, deceit and greed. Nigerians are one of the most gullible, delusional and selfish people on this planet earth if not the whole universe. I weep for dis country everyday. I wish we have a 100 prominet people like Tunde Bakare. I am catholic. But i have always love his sincee message for the past 13years i have be listening to him. He has always stand for a better Nigerian and a beter christianity. Kumuyi is another sincere man even though he might not be perfect. People may be suprise why did he mention Kumuyi? I believe he mentioned him deliberately in d list for completeness to stress the point "All GO's" so as drive his point that Nigeria christianity as a whole needs transformation. He deliberately avoided mentioning d names of crooks like oyedepo, oyakhilomhen, ayo oritsejafor, oshimolowo, adefarasin etc.

Your objectivity is admirable! You certainly get the message...

Politics / Re: Achebe’s Biafra Memoir Stirs Controversy by xzit(m): 8:48pm On Oct 06, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: If what Achebe wrote is the TRUTH, then why shouldn't he tell the TRUTH? Why do some persons want him to hide the TRUTH? That someone says it as it is does not mean the person is still ANGRY or BITTER. The TRUTH is the TRUTH and the TRUTH can never be late in coming. So SORRY if it offended some Yoruba persons or any other person but the TRUTH should not be withheld because it will offend some persons. Again the TRUTH may be RIGHT or WRONG depending on your side of the divide or your understanding of issues. To some persons it is right to use starvation as weapon of war but to others it is an ATROCIOUS act. In the opinion of Achebe and some other persons, it is WRONG but in the opinion of others, including the Late Chief Awo, it is RIGHT. Such is life. But bottomline is was starvation used as weapon of war during the Nigerian civil war? Yes! Was Late Awo the driver of such policy? Yes! Was late Awo interested in becoming president of Nigeria after decimating the 'enemy'? Yes! Was Achebe right in documenting these TRUTHS in his book for posterity sake? I think yes. FOR THE INFORMATION OF ALL, not ALL weapons of war are acceptable or 'fair'. That is the reason you have the red cross and UN to deliver food to the civillian population even in the period of war. Also it is unacceptable to use certain cluster bombs during war or bomb certain targets during war. Again Igbos did not declare war on Nig rather it was Nigeria that attacked Igbo homeland after the east seceded due to massacre of Igbos in the north

Well said!!!

Politics / The True Meaning Of Independence by xzit(m): 2:14am On Oct 03, 2012
I sailed into our independence anniversary yesterday(2 days ago) with ‘shiny eyes’ and stayed that way for the better part of the day, at least till nature began seeking its portion of sleep from me. Not that it was really the plan, it just happened that way and I’ll tell you why. It was about 10:37 PM on Sunday the 30th of September (2012 of course!) and I just finished from taking a long (and boring) call from someone. Feeling weary from the day’s activities, I just lay there in bed, in the darkness of my room, eyes shut while sliding into the world of sleep when I was twitched back to alertness by the blazing fury of my electric bulb burning through my shut eyelids to my retinas! This was quite unexpected since I almost never sleep on my back. In less than a few seconds I was wide awake again...and thankful since the electricity supply in my current location had been erratic since I got there five days ago.

So I was up and doing everything I should have done long since had power supply here been as ‘regular’ as it was in time past. In-between the activities of my late night shift I found time to check the popular social networks and I stumbled on tweets and posts about Nigeria’s Independence Day celebration. Only then did it dawn on me that it was October 1st; Independence Day! Not that I didn’t have a clue of the calender...I just didn’t remember it to be a significant day of our independence, at least not until seeing those tweets. The way I forgot about our Independence Day is just the same way the kids from a poor family that can hardly afford a square meal a day would forget their birthdays. It was an unfortunate subconscious oversight. However, the realisation of our independence didn’t put smiles on my face. The best I could do was to shake my head.

Now I may begin to come off as unpatriotic to some, ungrateful even. If so, it might be appropriate for those who think me unpatriotic to ask themselves a simple question; is it in line with patriotism to entertain charades? I ask this because in my humble opinion I assert that people have cause to celebrate an anniversary only when a tangible status of achievements have been recorded which gives ample reason for joy and gladness...if and only if they have the means to celebrate! You don’t see married couples celebrating their anniversary if it has been a turbulent union. In fact, I'll bet you they might even have forgotten! So suddenly remembering yesterday was our independence day didn’t make me wanna call out champagne bottles and jam full glasses. It made me wanna sit still and think, it made me wanna ponder on the path we find ourselves and how we got here, it made me wanna inquire from whence we came and where we are headed, it made me wanna consider our plunging economy and decrepit infrastructures, it made me wanna cry out for the increasing cost of living and the declining standard of living, it made me wanna curse someone for our depreciating standard of education and the appreciating rate of unemployment, it made me wanna weep for the lives of those lost at the wake of violent terrorist attacks up-North, it made me wanna cringe from recollection of the enormous amounts in varied currencies of taxpayers' money brazenly looted by the very custodians, it made me wanna question leadership and apportion blame, it made me wanna pray and fast...

Of the many things thoughts of our 52 years of independence made me think and want to do, I fear that some may be of no gainful consequence. Yet, others may well be the very fulcrum of our turning point towards that greatness we endlessly claim in words and lack in deeds. A State or a Nation is defined by the geographical location and the people within it. Thence, the independence of a State or a Nation cannot be separated from the human entities that define that State. So what is the logic of an independent State if the people of that State cannot aspire to attain a similar sense of independence?

The concept of independence potrays freedom from external control, the freedom to govern one's affairs as one sees fit. This refers specifically to independence of a State. Independence of an individual as part of a State has quite a different interpretation although the concept remains fundamentally the same. For an individual independence means one's freedom to choose the life they want for themselves and to have the means to attain it. Therefore, the independence of the individual is not solely a function of the independence of the State if the State's independence cannot guarantee its development for which the individual's independence relies.

The essence of independence is to tear down the walls of restrictions which binds the dependant from aspiring to do and be more than those standards the 'controllers' have set. It is an aspiration to move from a status of subservience to one of equality. It makes me wonder what we really celebrate as a people, the bulk of which are still in economic bondage. It makes me wonder if our celebration isn't more than a service to the unscrupulous cohorts of political leaders who have kept us under for long years.

What we truly celebrate on the 1st of October each year is our dependence on our leaders to lead us to the promiseland we have long prayed for. Little do we know that we have always been on promiseland! In itself, dependence on leadership isn't such a bad thing since leadership has a responsibility to the people. But when we refuse to accept the reality that bad leadership promotes perpetual dependence of the people without hope of redemption we lose sight of the true definition of independence whose celebration we annually fake.

Independence is not just the physical freedom from external influence for he is trapped whose mind is caged but whose body is free. Independence must be accompanied with subsequent positive reports on development and increase in social status. It is of no consequence if the people's lives experience no significant improvement. Independence means nothing to the people if they still drown in squalorish living standards akin to the days of slavery. Hence, rather than see independence day as a day of celebration, it would be wiser to take it to be an opportunity to start afresh, refresh our attitudes and minds to focus on being all that we can be as individuals and as a nation. A nation becomes what it is by the collective effort of the people who make up that nation. The greatest service we can do for ourselves is to not fail ourselves where leadership has failed us. The family is the smallest unit of any society and by default people wish for the success of their individual families. In like fashion we must begin to see our nation as a projection of family in the larger society. Every individual success should be seen as a collective success. It behoves each and every one of us to put hands together regardless of ethnicity and religious inclinations and pursue the future we want for ourselves and our dear nation. Though individual interests exist, the collective interest supercedes. This is the tenet of patriotism which we must all imbibe and live by. Only then can we begin to have a taste of what independence truly means.

God bless Nigeria and Nigerians.

Thanks for your time on our thread . . . Will work on this and get back to you soon.
I have no idea if the 4G is 3G enabled as well, but why would you need a 3G when you have a 4G

Well, most locations in Nigeria don't have 4G network yet (and might not for a while too)...so 3G is quite ideal these days, being that 4G is still futuristic. But I'm willing to bet 4G enabled ipads will certainly be 3G enabled as well...I'll be happy to hear from u abt d pricing asap. Thanks again...
