jerikoyan: Please house i want to ask if their is any hydrographic surveyor in the house or someone that has an ideal of what it entails I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ interms of job prospects, training and salary

I was just about to ask a similar question. I know these companies have surveyors though not as much as engineers. I have a BSc in Geology and a professional diploma in surveying and geoinformatics. My target job has always been the upstream sector but it seems like who you know is just as important as what you know in these concerns. What I've noticed is that these companies seldom advertize for surveyors and GIS personnel. It would be really swell to put my knowledge in the geosciences to practice in one of these companies. No better motivation to deliver than the tangible financial gain in these companies!

Pls how can i do it?

Normally you can load N1200 on your airtel line and dial *440*4# and you'll get 1gig worth of data bundle valid for a month.
Alternatively, if you want same 1gig for as low as N700, 2gig for N1200, or 3gig for N2000(all valid for a month too)...etc, then mail xzit05@yahoo.com to have it pushed directly to your airtel line.

Business / Re: N100 Monthly Charge On First-Bank ATM Withdrawals by xzit(m): 5:34am On Mar 05, 2013
curfew: end of january access bank withdrew NGN 1,410 from my account. this they claimed was for debit card and maintenance charges. end of february this thiefing bank deducted NGN 2,570. for over a year i have not remove money from this account. i'm not going to ask them why they're corporately stealing my money, i'm simply going to close the account.

I have a similar issue with them. And they just won't inform you on what is being deducted and why until you ask sternly. Yet they tell new customers that there are no (hidden) costs in running an account with them. SMH. All the customer service boils down to BS!!!
Business / Re: N100 Monthly Charge On First-Bank ATM Withdrawals by xzit(m): 5:29am On Mar 05, 2013
It's really disturbing how these banking organisations can just rip off customers who have entrusted them with their money. Imagine first bank has even joined the lot! It was for this ridiculous charges that I discontinued the usage of my UBA account about 6 years ago. The worst part is these banks send your smses on sundry matters but will never send you any message informing you of the charges they pilfer from your account at their whim. I noticed this with Assess bank and queried the customer care, was told it was maintenance charges for the account. Meanwhile I dont even have an ATM for that account! She also told me they had resolved to charge yearly (N1000/year) rather than monthly. So to that even N1000 was deducted from my account. Funny thing is in the last end-of-month balance sent me, some money was deducted still! So, I've resolved to clear that account before they do so for me!

Its same with telecoms too. Their call rates keep changing without any prior information to users, but they'll bombard you with unsolicited ad campaigns! Some months ago, I recharged my glo line quite often since they had a uniform charge across networks (N15/min to all networks). One day, I recharge to call and behold my credit is exhausted in less than 10 minutes! I knew something was amiss, called the customer care and was told the rates had been reviewed upward, saying calla to other networks was now twenty-something! I was furious...even considered burning down a glo mast or two! But that was it for me and glo...havent called with that line for months, and I won't!

Forgive the long commentary but I'm just so miffed that we would be used like we are a bunch of buffoons and nonentities. While some of us remain unaware of these pilferings, many just feel helpless about it. What's worse is the regulatory bodies (NCC, CBN) are in their pockets. IT'S JUST SO WRONG!!!

OCTAVO: @Mr lulu, if you feel offended by my post, i'm sincerely sorry. I think it was some kind of misunderstanding. Thanks.

Way to go Octavo! Now I beg everyone else to please bury their hatchets. Life has far greater challenges for us, little issues like this are at best a test. How we fare here will determine if we will be prepared for the real challenges that lie ahead. What we must realise is this: though a select few may be well poised to face challenges by themselves and are likely to succeed, it takes far lesser effort, resources and time to tackle challenges collectively. Unlike the NLer who said he 'hates' Nigerians because of this perverse attitude of unwarranted antagonism, I love Nigerians but sometimes I wonder about their level of awareness. If we can all become more self-aware, in our speech and our actions I'm willing to bet we'll start to see the light at the end of the tunnel...change comes from decisive actions taken from a clear perception.

WackyJ1: Mr Drizzy since you suggested the whatsapp group then you should be in charge of it and start the idea if you are ready. you merely asked for lulu's opinion and he ruled out whatsapp for himself because he had not downloaded it yet, he never said that you could not go on with the idea yourself and he never stopped anyone from going for the idea, a WHATSAPP GROUP CANNOT CHALLENGE TELECOM OPERATORS AND SPEAK THE MIND OF THE PEOPLE which is the first objective of the FACEBOOK group. your idea is not a bad one and if you can do it, you are free, personally i wouldn't mind joining the group, the point is to help one another.

Your head de dia my guy! Why is it so easy for some people to just miss the point! *Phew*

So you mean this all about you? It's only your own selfish interest you are protecting? What about the interest of others? So you mean it's you first before others? I see the kind of leader you can be. All you did was to simply outrule the suggestion of whatsapp? Which in every sense is better and safer than facebook. Mehn I detest your personal interest in this. And fyi there's nothing bad in running the two together! I expected you to come up with that sensible idea in order to balance the situation. But your personal interest in facebook won't let you do that. And fyi, either you like it or not, we are going to create the whatsapp group and run it alongside with fb simultaneously.

Dude why is it so difficult for you to grasp simple logic without making it look like you are preparing to go to war?! Maybe u need to reread posts before u respond. We are trying to look for a way forward in this matter and ur attitude can only pull us back. It wasnt @luluosas's prerogative to say we can run both fb and whatsapp simultaneously. Anyone cld have suggested it...but for u to even think he has selfish interests speaks more of u than he. Abeg be more reasonable before spewing next time. We not trying to brew problems here, we looking for solutions...

Still, this doesnt stop telecoms agents from joining the group and getting access.

The best thing is to make the group a legit telecom customers union facebook group where we voice our displeasure with Nigerian telecoms operations. Not a a secret group to discuss illegal cheats and tweaks. I never support any illegal acts in any format. I only used Glo bis on my android smartphone because I thought Glo permitted it on non-BB devices. But seriously telecoms companies should increase their data cap for non-BB devices.

I still move the motion to make it an open LEGIT GROUP for customers of Nigerian telecoms service providers to voice their grievances (or satisfaction) with the services they render to Nigerians. .

Another logical point here. If what we plan to achieve in this group is justice, then our modus operandi should as such be legit. Your point is well noted. Thank you.

Cool down. Na democracy we de. Let's hear everyone's view and decide collectively on everything that the group should be and do (i.e. in line with the group's vision and mission).

While I love this idea and I fully support it.

There are two suggestions though.
1. Why do you make it a closed group. I thought the idea is to have as many members as possible. You should have created it as an open group NOT a closed group.
2. You should encourage every member to share the page on their wall, thereby reaching as many as possible.

Thanks.

By the way, I have sent my request to join the group, waiting for the admin to approve my membership.

The group remains under advisement. I think your suggestion makes a lot of sense...

luluosas:
@lugardosa

@Luluosas I've added u and set u as an admin for the fb group 'Telecoms Customers' Union of Nigeria (TelCUM)'. So u can begin adding folks from here who share the same grievances regarding this glo issue. Once we build a sizable number we can begin taking actions. I'm thinking an open letter to NCC endorsed by all members will be one of those action in due course of time. We will add as many people as share our ideals, but in doing so be careful to vet their identity so we don't include telecoms agent into the closed membership. I believe we will be heard in time to come. Telecoms companies, like banks cant continue to take undue advantage of us cos we keep their business alive!
May God Almighty bless this struggle....

it's a good move but have you checked the rate that is charged in other countries? Let's not go on a wild goose chase

I haven't yet checked their rates in other countries. But this is their resident country and we are not just customers but citizens. That has to count for something. And if the saying that ''the customer is always right'' is anything to go by then we have a standing right to demand how we want to be treated. Least we get is a reasonable explanation and the best we get is what we demand. At the end of the day we would have made them take us seriously.
