Career / Re: School Or 6 Digits Income Per Month? by yankeenowo(m): 11:19am On Jun 18, 2020
Well! My candid advise is to continue your school while you still make small changes as you use to do before the covid 19.

Economical, governance or any other policies can jeopardise your pumping 6 digits expectations in a twinkle of an eye. Be wise, online business is not as life asset as your tertiary certificate.

It's better to have your certificate and not use it than you needing it and you don't have it.

I follows you points pretty well. Sometimes I wondered, why? If you have ever seen a plate of food given to the so called pupils, you will weep. It's obviously a scam, and illegal means turn legal through presidential approval.

How on earth could such continue during lockdown while the said students were at home?

Wiseandtrue:

Can you imagine undecided feeding school children in this lockdown and in this jet age shocked shocked shocked

When correct country leaders are empowering parents through provision of jobs, providing business friendly environment, provision of soft loans and what have you

This one is bent on his archaic ways or should I say stone age undecided

How do parents bond with their kids if government is performing their responsibility meanwhile there's loads of responsibilities the government have not even scratched not to talk of touching

This was how they started almajiries, stole their destinies and made those children vulnerable to terrorists

For how long will government feed all the children in Nigeria

What's the role of the parents in the society

Succinctly said!!!

Wiseandtrue:

Even a dummy knows that this school feeding program is a scam just like all their promises.

If people are lying to the chief of liars (Buhari), do you think, he will not know

Except he himself is aware of their scam and gave them a go ahead as long as he gets his share!!!

Re: FG Spends N679m Daily On Feeding Schoolchildren During Lockdown by yankeenowo(m): 1:13pm On May 13

Do I read 679million per day? Money enough to building a massive manufacturing factory that can employ over 100 staff! Meaning Nigerian Government can be building such factories in all the states and produces basic products needed in Nigeria and for masses usage and consumption.

I weep for my great nation!!!

I can't say our leaders have no wisdom. They have and well exposed intentionally.

This is just pure wickedness and avenue to make corruption practices legal.

I knew this was a scam!!!

Politics / Nine Million School Feeding Pupils’ Details With States –FG by yankeenowo(m): 8:32am On Jun 18, 2020
The House of Representatives has criticised Federal Government’s decision to allow states determine beneficiaries of its National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme.

The lawmakers faulted the government for feeding over 9 million pupils without having their names.

The House Committee on Public Accounts, at an investigative hearing in Abuja on Wednesday, demanded the names of the schools, pupils and cooks under the programme.

The Special Adviser to the President on the School Feeding Programme, Dr Dotun Adebayo, the total sum committed to the programme between 2016 and 2018 was N186.1bn, which represented 37 per cent of the total amount appropriated to it during the period. He said N10.4bn had been released for the programme in 2020, which represents seven per cent of its budget, while the total stood at N196.6bn in five years.

Adebayo also said 9,410,393 pupils had been benefitting from the programme across 54,619 schools, with 102,097 cooks engaged to prepare the meals. He said the cooks were being paid N70 per child for 20 days.

According to him, the states engaged the cooks who were selected from the communities, while the Federal Government pays them directly adding that a cook caters to a maximum of 150 pupils.

The committee consequently requested for the full list of the cooks, schools and pupils benefitting from the programme.

The lawmakers were, however, shocked when Adebayo said the programme does not have the full list of the pupils. He said the states provided the list which was verified by the National Bureau of Statistics.

Adebayo said, “These numbers are verified by the NBS. It is part of the data that the states provide – the number of pupils per school. The Federal Government is not responsible to select the schools for any state. It is not our responsibility. We have that (verification) through the NBS; we did a revalidation through it.”

Consequently, the committee summoned the NBS over claim that the beneficiaries had been verified; and the CBN over the claim that it paid the cooks directly.

The Chairman of the committee, Oluwole Oke said, “Mr Dotun (Adebayo), you mean you feed 9 million children for 200 days in an academic year; you are able to ascertain the number of days yet you don’t know the details of these children?”

Adebayo answered, “We have the details of the schools, their enumeration numbers. But when you talk about the actual names, we have for some states where we did verification but because of fund we could not carry out the verification. So, the NBS has been the one that has…(verified the figures). The particulars of the children can be made available but that is through the states.”

Some members of the committee also kicked when they were told that all states and the Federal Capital Territory wre benefitting from the programme, except Kwara and Bayelsa.

Crime / My Aunt Watched While Men She Brought Slept With Me - 20-year-old Girl Reveals by yankeenowo(m): 3:55pm On May 23, 2020
A 20-year-old mother of one, Miss Chinasa Chukwu, has told policemen in Ebonyi State how her aunt would bring men to her apartment, sit down and watched as the men slept with her, Vanguard reports.

She was rescued by the combined effort of a hairstylist, the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and the Police, while the aunt is on the run.

The state FIDA Chairman, Mrs Grace Chima, told newsmen that it would ensure that the culprit was made to face the law.

“We got a report on May 20, on a case of sexual exploitation. We were told that a young girl was kept in a rented apartment by a woman, whom the victim identified as her aunt.

“We were also informed that the woman always sent in two to three men in a day to have sex with Chukwu, while she watched and get paid at the end of the act.

“So, when we heard about this, we got there immediately on May 21, to rescue the victim from bondage,” Chima said.

She further stated that FIDA in collaboration with the United Nations was committed to ensuring that rights of women and children were protected in the state.

She promised to update the media as the development unfolded.

The victim, Miss Chukwu, while narrating her ordeal at the state ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, alleged that her aunt always claimed that the money from the act would be used to pay for her training.

The 20-years-old victim from Akaeze in Ivo Local Government Area of the state is currently pregnant and has a two-year-old son.

“My aunt always brought two to three men each day to have sex with me in a rented apartment she got for me while she watched the act,” Chukwu said.

Meanwhile, a hairstylist, Mrs Chizoba Okemiri, who enrolled Chukwu as an apprentice in her salon, alleged that the victim was subjected to a brutal sexual trade and exploitation by her aunt.

Okemiri, who corroborated the incident, noted that the victim’s aunt had allegedly continued to arrange both married and young men to sleep with Chukwu in her rented apartment.

She said that the victim revealed that her aunt had threatened to discipline her for disclosing her activities.

She added: “Chinasa was brought to me on Easter day by her mother, aunt and aunt’s friend for the enrollment.

“After the bargaining for her training, her mother pleaded that she would be coming to the salon with her son because she might not cope with the child and her job.

“Another apprentice in my shop had reported to me that men always visited the victim which I discovered and tried to stop her from seeing them.

“When I confronted the victim about the men, she revealed that it was her aunt who arranged for those men.

“When the visit persisted, I called her mum and aunt to confirm the development, but the aunt told me that I will get to know why they visit her, one day.

“I became uncomfortable and had to report the matter to a staff of Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), who now facilitated her rescue.”

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Loveth Odah, said that the victim was brought to Kpirikpiri Police Division in Abakaliki, having been allegedly exploited sexually by her aunt, a suspect who is now at large.

“Investigation is still ongoing in the division and I have confirmed that the girl was brought to the division by FIDA,” Odah said.

Politics / President Buhari To Address The Nation Today by yankeenowo(m): 9:40am On May 18, 2020
President Muhammadu Buhari will address the nation in a broadcast on Monday following the end of the first phase of the gradual easing of the COVID-19 lockdown.

The president had addressed the nation on COVID-19 measures on three previous occasions.

Sani Aliyu, the national coordinator of the presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19, made the disclosure when he appeared on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

The president was given a situation report on COVID-19 by Boss Mustapha,  secretary to the government of the federation (SGF) and chairman of the PTF, on Sunday.

Speaking after the meeting, the SGF said Nigerians must take charge of reducing community transmission of the disease.

He said COVID-19 is a marathon and not a 100-meter race, and that it will take about 18 months for a vaccine to be produced and certified fit for humans.

“COVID-19 is not going to go away in the next one or two months, whoever tells you that is not being realistic. No vaccine is in the horizon, we are talking about 18 months to two years before vaccines would be confirm for human use as far as COVID-19. And unless we get there, it means is that it will remain,” he said.

“It might have cycles, after the first cycle of pandemic, they might be a relief, there can be a resurgence and that is evidenced all over the world. It has happened before as is the nature of infections. So, I believe that what we are going to do now as a taskforce is to come down to the level of having the communities take ownership of the response.

“We have developed a national response which has been cascaded to the states but the communities must plug into the national response. Where we have primary health care centres all over the country, they can be used as stations of reporting of surveillance within a particular community, of tracing, of tracking so that we can take out those that we suspect have exhibited symptoms or have come in contact with people who have exhibited symptoms for testing and isolation. That way you plug them out of the community and reduce the risk of transmission. That is basically what we are working on.”

Mustapha also said the president was satisfied that Nigeria, in spite of its poor healthcare system, has made effort in combating the disease.

“Well, the president expressed his satisfaction that in spite of the difficulties and the fact that as a nation, we lack the capable infrastructure looking at what is happening to the developed world, where countries that have traditionally established health institutions with all the palliatives, with all the privileges, with all the schemes that guide its people have crumble as a result of COVID-19, we are still standing and doing our best under the circumstances to ensure that we provide the necessary direction,” he said.

”So he expressed his satisfaction with the PTF, the minister of health and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, which are integral part of the taskforce and all the multi-sectoral ministries and are involved in this work – the armed forces, the police, the kind of cooperation we have received from them, without them we wouldn’t have recorded the modest successes that we have achieved. So, he expressed his appreciation that have contributed to where we are today.”

tunmiluabi:

Maybe you are right, no doubt, I might have misread the situation. But do you think with 170K she would have been able to pay the rent of 950k/year and and still pay school fees for our child? I say no. We both had mutual contributions and projection. I fulfilled my part. I never failed.

I would like to say before I got married, I might not have been doing so well, but I funded the marriage with my 3years of savings. That same business might not have been doing well but it had its times. Sometimes I will bring home 10k, 20k/month, although it might take some time to bring so much but when its good 2 to 3months apart I can bring about 200k.. for 6month I may go with very little. still, I was hopeful it would be better.

During her earlier salary situation was not bad, probably because we were in a 1bed apartment and the pressure was less - Also, I was providing the much I could. As indicated in my earlier lines most of my income went into doing practically everything. She contributed immnesly as well.

It only got really worse when the position came. The new apartment even took a lot out of us. I agreed to the move because I felt saving for the rent might not be a difficult thing to do. Till I left the apartment we never owed.

Despite quarrels, I was still able help her with the transition to the new position. The transition was such that she had to be good at at staistics and business modeling for the new marketing Insight role. I trained her in SAS, advanced excel and Power BI before I left the house. Coupled with her natural brilliance she was able to secure it. What more could I have done. If I was lazy I would not have had time for that and would normally have told her to look else where. There were times when I would walk from iponri to fadeyi and back seeking clients going form shop to shop, office to office to secure client. That is not to say I did not use public transport. There were also time when I will call friends to help as well.

If you read my threads well, I had my share of good contributions and support. I might not have met up of to her expectation.

Some comment indicted I might have been weak. Maybe, but what I know is that, I am happy for the way handled the situation. It could have turned out terrible. I was hopeful things were going to change. That kept me going. You can't force a change on anyone. You can only do your part.

I believe these things happens, it has happened to many people, I will not be first and the last, why fight a lost battle. I fought for my marriage the best I could. I might not have been so religious about it, but I did the best I could. I have fought many battles, I won some, I lost some. In this particular one I lost woefully.

In one of the threads, someone indicated I might have cheated with another woman or even have left with another woman. I could have, I wish I did but I did not. I have the right mental strength to whistand the situation but maybe I lacks the right approach to deal with it. Its a pity our frustrations are different and problems are unique, just like the way we deal with them. I have no comment. I might not be a saint but I really do know what I want.

Please I would like to make this submission my last one. Permit me to rest my case. Thank you all.

I respect your submission bro. You are now a man. You will never be once was a husband again

This is so emotional story! But Succinctly, you wife was never at fault either as you have xplained your side of the story. Before this, she use to be a very loyal , humble and respected house wife.

The fact is, when life does not smile to a man in marriage , the man automatically becomes once a husband. The man will loose his confidence as a husband material. But to God be glory , you got a better life because you were hopeful and never a lazy man.

It would have been best to reunion with your wife and live a happy family with your kid but the adulterous part of her kept my wish dashed.

But despite, I will never see your wife as a bad person. Every lady can fall same temptations. ....men outside can be extreamly caring to a house wife in a condition when her husband is zero responsible. Most ladies will see love and care in it but behold it's just a joker to get in between their legs. You wife fell for a deceit of care and love and she opened her legs not because she does not loves you bro.

He took to Twitter to point out that women are always the ones tweeting "leave my man" but men usually do not do that. Yet, women are quick to say men are useless and scum.

He wrote: "“Men are useless.” “Men are scum.” But everyday someone is marking territory online, getting angry with besties just saying hi to their man or accusing themselves of snatching a whole man that is a scum.

"It's always 'leave my man alone.' I have never seen any man tweet leave my woman alone haha.

"You see, Nigerian men are not useless after all. Because if we were, no woman will be threatening to pour acid on another woman over a useless man. Men are not scum too. Scum has no gender."

Romance / My Husband Told Me He Wants A Girlfriend - Woman Cries Out by yankeenowo(m): 8:11pm On May 06, 2020
A heartbroken woman has cried out for help as her husband just opened up to her he would want their marriage to be an open one as he craves to have a girlfriend.

The anonymous woman said she couldn’t believe it when her husband randomly suggested the idea in the middle of lockdown and she asked him if it was“lockdown craziness talking”.

However, it turns out he had wanted to bring the idea up for months before the start of lockdown.

His idea was to rent a second flat where he could stay and see his “girlfriends” during the week and on the weekends he would return home to be with his family.

The heartbroken mum according to The Mirror said that she had no other choice than to continue living with him, and doesn’t know what to do.

He explained that as part of their agreement he would “not form emotional connections” and would “prioritise” his wife and children.

And, that she had permission to go and see other men, but wasn’t allowed to sleep with them.

She felt broken about the situation. In her words:

"I am gobsmacked. I feel like I’ve been punched in the stomach. I asked him if this was lockdown craziness talking and he told me that he had been wanting to bring this up for a few months. I cannot believe it. I don’t know whether to cry and feel completely devastated or if I should seriously consider what he is offering. I’m all over the place".

Many people have advised that she break-up or divorce the man.

Saw this piece on another platform..... and thought is worth sharing.......

"BE CHECKING THAT ROOM ONCE IN A WHILE":

There was this young, poor & wretched hunter guy. His family was nothing to write home about. He was very poor & miserable. One day, the king of his village died & when they consulted the oracle, this young man was picked to be the next king despite the fact that his lineage has nothing to do with the kingship lineage. On the day of coronation, he wept so bitterly as he could not imagine the crown being put on his poor head. After the coronation, he asked that an extra one room should be built in the palace compound & the only things in that room are just his catapult, hunting boots, hunting dresses & all his hunting instruments. Any time he is tempted to be proud, arrogant or to think too highly of himself or to talk rudely to the people under him, he will go to that room & once he sees all his hunting instruments & dresses; they remind him of his humble beginning & make him humble the more. He said that room is the most beautiful room in the whole palace. Though what is in the room are not beautiful, but they help him remain humble before God & men and that gave him a beautiful & peaceful reign.
Friends, are we not all like this poor , wretched man? Was it not the mercy of God that turn our nonentity to celebrity? Now you drive latest and beautiful cars around, but you remember there was a time you don't even have money to pay for public transport. How come we brag of our successes and achievements and look down on others who are not in our level? How come you treat your employees as if you are sure they don't have a future? How come you insult your church members as if you started pastoring from your mother's womb? You are quick to forget that, there was a time you were lost in your sin & dead in iniquity?. The Bible says 'For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?'
(1Corinthians 4:7). Your beauty has entered your head now that you see yourself as the best and you call other people ugly fellows. Remember, if we are not humble, we will surely stumble. We all need to be checking that 'room' once in a while. Remember your past & see where God picked you from! Atimes, check your old pictures and see how you looked then and compare it with who you are now, then, if there is any sense of divinity in you, you will know that, it is of the Lord's mercy that you were not consumed. Humble yourself. When you are tempted to be proud or look down on others because of your position and material possessions, always go back and check your own 'room of your humble beginning'.

Robbers enter my neighbour house, ask for all the money and valuables. After they collect what they can, they give the man of the house a gun with instruction to shoot his wife, or he shot himself. The man get the gun, point it at his wife and hesitates. He is thinking what he has gone through in life with his wife, and how she had suffered and sacrificed for him...

He hand back the gun and says" I am sorry I can't do this".

The boss of the robbers silently grabs the gun from him and passes it on to his wife with the sane instruction.
The wife gets the gun and without any single hesitation points to her husband's head and pulls the trigger. But at last, the gun had no bullets in it. The robbers get their gun and walk out the house laughing..

The DSS men invaded the residence of Akerele around 5pm and arrested his Personal Assistant, Jaspa Olowojoba, the security man and other domestic staff in the residence.

Akerele, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, said his street was cordoned off by the DSS men who came in one 18-seater bus and three vehicles of   Operation Wabaizigan.

“They cordoned off my street, arrested all my personal staff, my security man and took away all my children’s birth certificates. They sealed my house, my life is under threat. I said I have resigned and that I shared his vision and I am still with him politically, so what else do they want from me?” he said.

But reacting, the Edo State Commissioner for Information, Mr Paul Ohonbamu, accused Akerele of attempting to blackmail the governor, saying having accepted his resignation and appointed a new CoS, Obaseki had moved on and had nothing to benefit from attacking Akerele.

Ohonbamu said, “He is the least of our worry; no one is bothered about him; the governor has moved on. To say that the governor is after him is sheer falsehood and blackmail and it shows the kind of character we are dealing with.”

Food / COVID-19: Oyo To Return 1,800 Bags Of Rice Donated By FG by yankeenowo(m): 5:46am On Apr 25, 2020
Wale Oyewale, Ibadan

The Oyo State Government on Friday indicated that it might return the 1,800 bags of rice donated to the state by the Federal Government as COVID-19 palliative on the grounds that the rice had been infested with weevils.

The state government took delivery of the three trailer loads of rice through the Nigeria Customs Service on Monday.

The Executive Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Agribusiness, Dr Debo Akande, explained that the 1,800 bags of rice from the Federal Government had spoilt.

Akande said, “We received these items from the Federal Government via the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development and we brought them to the warehouse. It was in the process of further inspection that we discovered that the rice had been infested with weevils.

“On that basis, we formed a committee to re-inspect it so we can be sure of what we have received.

“We don’t want to create another problem while providing solution to another one. We have inspected it; we have done random selection and we have seen that similar things apply across the board.

“We have agreed to return them to the source but if there are good ones with good quality that could be sent to us as replacement, we will be glad to receive them.”

Akande promised that the situation would not in anyway delay the planned distribution of palliatives by the state government.

He added, “We all know that a good number of food items have been received by the Food Security Committee of the Task Force and they would be distributed in the next couple of days. We have in place a robust system for distribution and that we have finalised on it.”
