Phiheywhy1: my bro, I'm tired of this negative balance of a thing. am on graduation list, I own the school -37000. just to pay the money this morning, my portal is showing -65000, adding some money I ve paid b4 of which I have the RRR payment. I went to see bursar ,he said I shu wait a little. but am disturbed cus I don't want any impediments for my clearance. all I want is to remove the minus from my E wallet. I thought this negative balance has been resolved, why is it recurring Again Calm down. It will be resolved. You are not alone |

Noblejay7: I wrote my final examinations last semester and to the best of my knowledge I have written and passed all my required courses including my project report. Unfortunately my name is not on the convocation list (including the supplementary list ) .
A friend suggested I write a complaint letter to my study center another is telling me that may be I still have some courses still pending that I need to take or my name will appear in next year list as such I should be patient.
The idea of me having pending courses sounds likely but the Noun portal has no provision for viewing this until registration payment is made. What if I pay and register for this semester only to now discover I don't have pending courses.
I want t to appeal to the management of NOUN to make the portal more interactive for easy access to information. The study centers should also be forthcoming with information when students with this kind of issues approach them. A situation whereby you are asked to write a complaint letter regarding an issue and nothing comes out of it is not good. Cross check using the student handbook for your department |

olokings: Thanks for the response.
So here is my case,
I got admitted in 2016_2 (Direct Entry). Did all GSTs including GST107. however, in 2018 while in my 400L apparently GST204 was introduced. I had already passed the level and didnt register it as i had no outstanding courses on 200L hence i wasnt even looking at the semester since i checked for completeness in my 300L. Fastfoward to 2019_1 after the exams in July 2019. graduation list came out and my name was not on the list.
Crosschecking my courses against registrable course, i had register all core + electives you can find on the list from 200L - 400L. i didnt know why i was ommitted. inquiry from the study center stated that i must do alll 100L GST courses 101 - 105. all of them!!!
Till date i still have not gotten any concrete feed back from a responsible person on why the omission was the case. just heresays and speculations
What is your opinion? That GST204 is the one holding you down. If you check your faculty manual, you will see that you are not meant to do 101-105 |

olokings: Greetings,
a quick question / clarification.
For a six (6) semester / Direct Entry structure study, must I do all the GST courses 200L, 300L and 100L. Considering that i have already done GST107 (Study guide for the distant learner). Are the rest GST 101, 102, 104, 105 etc compulsory to meet graduation requirements?
Regards. You must do all GSTs in 200 and 300 with GST107 (because it is compulsory for all new students) |

livinsoul: I asked this question after the exam registration portal prompted me with a reminder that I have a pending course to register (Research Project). This was after I have completed course and exams registration without registering the Research Project for exam. This is very confusing. Meanwhile, to avoid NOUN nonsense, I have registered the Research Project for exam. You don't have to register it for exam because it is not examinable. That you are seeing it as pending is because the system was programmed that way for all courses. |

aremiya: I ask an insurance lady that came to my office today, the difference between MMf and insurance, her response was like the difference in terms of the interest rate is almost the the same she went further to explain that whilst the the the MMF interest rate hovers around 10% and above (average per annum) as against the insurance that u get 5% ( no COT and VAT during payout), the MMF isn't really going to make much difference because at the point of redeeming your investment the COT and the VAT that will be deducted would reduce it down close to the insurance rate, how genuinely true is this? Becouse even while I was studying Islamic Engineering I new already that this isn't totally true though, MMF is tax free |
