My car, a Lexus ES 350 2010 model is due for service and the Mobil engine oil I normally use is unavailable in my location at the moment. Now, I am considering getting a different one (also Mobil) and wish to know if there's any disadvantages in changing/switching it.

I attached the images of both engine oils below. The first one is what I have been using since December 2023, and the second one is what I am considering.

Please I need honest opinions on this.

I recently(3 months ago) serviced my 2012 Lexus Rx 350 with Fanfaro WS transmission oil..as I couldn’t ascertain the genuineness of those Toyota WS variants being sold around. So far, I’ve not had any issues with it. I also reside in Ibadan..and it’s advisable that you allow an experienced profession gearbox specialist(repairer) handle the job. His work environment also, must be entirely free of dirt.
Ps: Mine took about 5 liters…

No, its not advisable to series lithium battery pack... parallel connection means connecting red - red n black - black while maintaining its natural voltage of either 12v, 24v or 48v

Can two of your 24v 300ah batteries be parralled to give 48v 600ah or how does this work with lithium battery?

My general advice when it comes to buying things is to not mind the amount it costs to buy the item, instead focus more on reliability over budget.

Yeah, I bought 24pcs of 625W Jinko Panels yesterday. I know they will increase prices soon enough, usually they would give a tempting discount on that kind of value of purchase but they insisted that there was no discount on panels for now.
Las las I had to buy it like that ooo.
But they were offering a huge discount on Inverters and batteries, even gave me an option to pay in installments if I bought Batteries.

If you're buying panels from Fouani, buy them NOW. Dollar is going up again.

Why didn't anyone mention that solar panel wires are so Damm expensive??

When I have the capacity, I plan to change the Sorotec inverter to a higher capacity and more reliable one.

It's been a long time since I branch here. Thanks to all the contributions to the thread.

I am now ready to add solar panels to my inverter system. My current set up consist of:

1. Sorotec 3.5kva 24v Hybrid inverter with 100A MTTP CC
2. 24V 300ah (7,680KWH) Lithium-ion LiFePO4 battery

I am considering going for 6-8 pieces of Jinko 435W/475W Monofacial Solar Panel. I want to buy the panels directly from LG Nigeria (Ibadan) since they're a trusted brand.

Please advice if my choice suit my current set. Thank you.

What's your average MPG on your Lexus ES350 2008 - 2012?

I actually don't know how to explain the noise. This is my first experience with cars. But the loud happen when turning the steering.

What could be responsible for the loud noise when turning the steering, usually in reverse? The car is ES350 2010.

Follow the manufacture advice at all times. They design the engine and they are highly educated...... Avoid uneducated advice from uneducated people e get reason.........

0w20 is the correct engine oil for it .... If you follow the owners manual. It tells you to use engine oil that meets the manufacture specifications ... It can be any brand of engine oil ...... 0w20 is formulated to work in any type of weather conditions....... But if decide to deviate from the manufacture advice don't go all the way left and use something too heavy.....


But there are few exceptions ..eg since you are operating the vehicle at hotter temperature year round 0w30 will be ok...... Avoid using 20w50 at all cost... The cost of import is very high now due to the weak naira... And lots of fake engine oil plenty for market now ....

I recently purchased my first car, a Lexus ES350 2010 model and serviced it for the first time about three weeks ago with Mobil 1 - 5W-30 engine oil.

I am reading online that the recommendation oil for the engine is 0W-20. I am also reading that oil depends on the environment temperature (country), I would love to hear from other users what oil they use and how it affects the Lexus engine.

Lastly, I need a recommendation for good a car OBD scanner that works very well to detect error codes.
